White Hot Truth: Trusting YourInner Voice Over External Gurus

There's a peculiar irony buried in the self-help industry: the more books you read about becoming yourself, the further you drift from actually knowing who you are. Danielle LaPorte discovered this the hard way. In the course of building her career as a wellness teacher and author, she became hooked on the very thing she'd been helping others avoid—a relentless hunt for the next piece of external wisdom, the next guru, the next person who might have the answer that would finally make everything click into place. A psychic reading here, an intuitive session there, one more business coach, another therapy appointment, a healing retreat. Each felt like it might be the missing piece. None of them were. The recognition of that pattern—and the choice to stop—becomes the beating heart of her new book, White Hot Truth, and the subject of a candid conversation she had with Lewis Howes on his podcast.

The Paradox at the Heart of Wisdom

The book opens with a deceptively simple provocative: "What if you considered right now not wanting to change who you are and how you are?" LaPorte describes this question as "a melter"—almost confusing in its directness. We live in a culture of relentless optimization, a constant push to become better, faster, leaner, more enlightened. What if the first step was to simply stop? To accept yourself as you already are?

But White Hot Truth doesn't resolve that opening question with a tidy answer. Instead, it argues that wisdom doesn't work that way. The book features a section LaPorte calls "The Paradox of Wisdom"—a collection of fourteen contradictory truths that map the actual terrain of a life lived consciously. Forgive, but don't forget. Trust, but do the work. Get real, and be idealistic. The list goes on, each pair of opposites describing a legitimate truth about how to navigate the world.

"Wholeness is inclusive," LaPorte explains. "It's always both and." The real-deal teachers she admires—the ones who actually know something worth knowing—all carry that same contradiction. They understand that there's a time to be a purist, devoted to a path, and times to let loose. Times to have excellent boundaries and times to get off your ass and be of service to others. "Wisdom knows that there's a time and a place for everything," she says. Life, in other words, is not binary. It's complex. It's messy. It's never a straight line.

This framework—the acceptance of paradox as the deepest truth—is what makes her next realization possible: the addiction to external input doesn't actually serve you, even when that input comes wrapped in the language of wisdom.

Caught in the Self-Help Hamster Wheel

The biggest lesson LaPorte learned in writing White Hot Truth arrived only after she finished the book. She realized she was still "pretty addicted to getting outside input." Psychic readings. Intuitive consultations. More specific business coaches. One more therapy session. One more yoga retreat. Each one felt like it might be the thing that would clarify things, that would give her permission or direction or the crucial insight she was missing.

The pattern wasn't born from weakness. It emerged from the very ecosystem she'd helped build. The self-help world is structured around the promise that someone else has figured out the answer—that if you just find the right teacher, the right technique, the right intervention, everything will resolve. But there's a hidden tax to that promise: every time you seek outside guidance, you're implicitly saying you can't trust your own knowing. And over time, that message calcifies into belief.

So LaPorte did something radical within her own world: she went on an "input fast." She stopped the psychic readings. She reduced the spiritual tools and paraphernalia. She minimized the stream of external consultation. The confession, she said, felt almost like standing up in a twelve-step meeting: "I'm Danielle and I haven't had a psychic reading for eight months."

The math is stark. "If you listen to everybody else, your chances of playing it right are still fifty-fifty. If you listen to yourself, still fifty-fifty," LaPorte observes. "But listening to yourself—oh God—you save a lot of money. It's much more efficient. And you really build that muscle." Intuition, like any capacity, atrophies without use. The self-help space is so crowded with noise—voices, frameworks, expert opinions—that people can barely hear their own inner signal, let alone trust it enough to act on it.

Creating the Silence Where Your Voice Lives

The practical question becomes unavoidable: How do you actually create the space to hear yourself when the world is designed to interrupt you constantly? LaPorte is honest about her own struggle with this. "The first thing I do in the morning when I roll over in bed is I check my phone," she admits. "And then I meditate. So I'm not saying..." The audience laughs because the contradiction is vivid: checking for affirmation, searching for proof of her value on the planet, before sitting down to listen to the signal underneath all that noise.

But the structure matters. "You must have that," she insists. A practice of stillness—not as a luxury, not as one more self-improvement project, but as an absolute necessity. For some people it's a morning run. For others, time on the elliptical. For some, it's four minutes. For others, twenty minutes to an hour. The specific form is less important than the commitment. "We clean our bodies, we clean our systems," she says. "That light that you encounter when you're in a meditative state—that is a cleaning of the mind. And it needs to happen so that you don't get the fog, the confusion."

LaPorte makes a useful distinction between three related practices that often get lumped together. Meditation is formulaic, process-oriented—you sit, you follow a method, you find the style that works for your nervous system. Contemplation is active thinking; you're actually considering what's happening in your life, being thoughtful and reflective about it. Prayer, by contrast, is conversation—though LaPorte has come to prefer prayer centered on gratitude rather than petition. The idea is to "meet my maker halfway," she says. Ideally, she suggests, you're using all three.

The purpose of that stillness isn't to arrive at some transcendent state or to solve your problems through meditation. It's simpler and more practical: to clear the fog enough that you can actually know what your priorities are. She describes waking up in the morning not knowing what matters, and notes how "so many people can relate to that fogginess." Years can pass. Decades, even. Until someone finally wakes up and asks: What am I doing this for? What's my actual purpose? By that point, they're on medication they don't want to take, in jobs that drain them, in relationships that don't work, using substances to numb out—all because the fundamental disconnection between their intuition and their choices was never addressed.

The Self-Compassion That Changes Everything

There's a phrase that echoes through our cultural conversation about personal development: "You need to love yourself." It's become so common it's almost lost its meaning. But LaPorte points to something more specific and more useful: the best self-help is actually self-compassion. Not self-improvement. Not self-optimization. Not even self-love, which can be its own performance. Self-compassion—the ability to meet yourself with kindness instead of judgment, especially when you're struggling or falling short.

Her own journey has been "one of exhaustion and burnout," she acknowledges. The constant striving, the endless seeking, the addiction to external input—these aren't character flaws. They're symptoms of a deeper wound: the belief that you're not okay as you are right now. That there's something fundamentally wrong that needs fixing. That you need to become someone else to be worthy of love, success, belonging.

The exhaustion that finally broke that pattern? That's not a failure. That's information. It's the moment when you're so worn down, so tired of grinding, that the old story stops working. "I'm not a fan of the word surrender," LaPorte says, "but I'm just going to be and allow." It's not a dramatic breakthrough—not the near-death experience she used to fantasize about, the transcendent moment that would instantly transform her and yield a great book. Her life, she's come to realize, is "much more normal" than that. And she's "really okay with it."

Where to Go from Here

The practical takeaway isn't that external guidance is worthless—LaPorte isn't arguing for total isolation or the rejection of all teachers and tools. She's pointing to a specific imbalance: the way the self-help ecosystem can become a substitute for your own authority, a displacement of your inner knowing onto external experts. The question isn't whether to ever seek guidance again. The question is whether you're using that guidance to strengthen your own intuition or to replace it.

Start with the input fast. Not as a permanent rejection of all external learning, but as a reset—a chance to hear what your own mind knows, what your own body knows, what your own heart knows, when there isn't a constant stream of other voices competing for your attention. Establish a practice of stillness: meditation, contemplation, prayer, or whatever form works for your nervous system. The point is to clear the fog enough that you can actually know what you know.

And most importantly: meet yourself with compassion. Not as a stepping stone to becoming better, but as an end in itself. The changes that last, LaPorte suggests, don't come from self-criticism or force. They come from finally, genuinely accepting yourself enough to stop fighting. That's not weakness. That's wisdom.

[0:00] what if you considered right now not

[0:03] wanting to change who you are and how

[0:06] you are no striving to

[0:11] change for me that question is just a

[0:15] melter it's almost like confusing too

[0:17] because we're in this constant push to

[0:21] get

[0:25] [Music]

[0:27] [Applause]

[0:29] better

[0:31] [Music]

[0:39] welcome back everyone to the school of

[0:40] greatness podcast very excited about our

[0:42] guest Danielle aort is in the house good

[0:45] to see you my love how are you doing I'm

[0:46] so great awesome I'm excited for you

[0:48] because you've got a new book out it's

[0:50] called White Hot truth make sure you

[0:53] guys go get this right now it's a game

[0:54] Cher it's going to inspire you it's

[0:56] going to give you a lot of wisdom and

[0:58] Clarity and one of the things I want to

[1:00] talk about that I loved actually is it

[1:02] gives you Clarity but there's also a

[1:05] whole page on here called the paradoxal

[1:08] of wisdom is that what it's called yes

[1:10] the Paradox of wi wisdom of paradoxal

[1:12] right and you talk about how truth and

[1:15] wisdom usually holds opposite points of

[1:18] views yes and so it'll give you Clarity

[1:21] but it's also some confusion right to

[1:23] life because you have these 14 different

[1:26] points uh which I love you know which

[1:29] kind of made me laugh you say like

[1:31] forgive but don't forget trust but do

[1:32] the work get real and be idealistic so

[1:36] these different you know paradoxal

[1:38] truths of wisdom why is this so why

[1:41] can't it just be one way oh it's never

[1:44] one way it's always and both you know

[1:48] wholeness is like inclusive and I think

[1:52] I mean this is just what I found to be

[1:53] true for myself and like the people who

[1:57] I consider Real Deal teachers there's

[2:00] always some

[2:02] contradiction they know you know wisdom

[2:04] knows that there's a time and a place

[2:06] for everything there's a time to be you

[2:08] know a purist and devotional and there's

[2:11] times to let loose and there are times

[2:16] you know wholeness is about being really

[2:19] you know deeply

[2:20] self-respect and centered within

[2:23] yourself and you know having excellent

[2:26] boundaries and then getting off your ass

[2:29] and being of service and feeling

[2:31] connected to everybody yeah yeah whole

[2:34] life is both mhm and it's also messy

[2:38] sometimes so messy so messy so

[2:42] uncertain um never a straight line never

[2:47] black and

[2:48] white um it's never you never change for

[2:51] one reason it's never one in it's never

[2:53] one

[2:54] Instagram right that gets you to change

[2:56] it's like a series of things that

[2:59] creates a Tipping Point Point M yeah

[3:01] it's complex is there a Tipping Point in

[3:03] your life recently uh Tipping Point in

[3:05] my

[3:10] life I

[3:14] feel like it's been this

[3:17] melting yeah this slow burning you know

[3:21] fire and for me things never come in an

[3:25] explosive way like it's never I never

[3:27] feel like ah I had the Breakthrough an

[3:29] aha moment not the AHA it's just a slow

[3:33] grind to figuring it out sometimes it's

[3:37] about feeling just worn the [ __ ] down

[3:39] and that's when the Revelation comes and

[3:43] like just so exhausted you're like okay

[3:45] something has to

[3:46] shift yeah or I get it I'm I'm I'm

[3:49] giving up I'm letting it

[3:51] go uh I'm not a fan of the word

[3:54] surrender but I'm just going to just

[3:57] going to be and allow yeah yes so no

[4:00] lightning bolts for me I used to really

[4:02] want lightning bolts like I used to

[4:04] think it would be so great to have a

[4:05] near death experience you know something

[4:08] that like wouldn't leave me disfigured

[4:09] or super traumatized but just like I

[4:11] wanted yeah I wanted to see the light

[4:14] and have one of those like

[4:16] transcendental things that would be like

[4:19] really transformative and I could maybe

[4:21] get a great book out of it you know and

[4:24] my life is just much more normal and I'm

[4:28] like really okay with with it yeah yeah

[4:31] yeah okay well what's the biggest lesson

[4:33] youve learned in writing this book um CU

[4:35] it's a journey writing a book obviously

[4:38] I'll tell you yes the biggest lesson in

[4:41] writing this book was about being more

[4:43] self-referencing I mean really the the

[4:45] heart of this is about being your own

[4:47] Guru and after I was finished the book I

[4:52] realized that I was still pretty

[4:54] addicted to getting outside input like

[4:58] it was one more psychic reading it was

[5:00] another intuitive something it was like

[5:02] well maybe I need a more specific

[5:04] business coach for this specific issue

[5:07] just like one more Psychotherapy session

[5:10] you know one more yoga session more

[5:13] Retreat yeah and so I have gone on an

[5:18] input fast and it feels like really

[5:20] confessional like I feel like I'm in an

[5:22] a meaning saying you know I'm

[5:25] Danielle and I haven't had a psychic

[5:28] reading for eight months

[5:31] [Music]

[5:33] and yeah

[5:36] just much fewer like spiritual

[5:40] paraphernalia in my life no I'm just not

[5:43] referring to those tools as much it's

[5:45] about me

[5:47] and you know what it's 5050 if you

[5:51] listen to everybody else your chances of

[5:53] playing it off still 50/50 if you listen

[5:57] to yourself still 50/50 but listening to

[6:00] yourself oh God you save a lot of money

[6:03] it's much more efficient and you really

[6:06] build that muscle you know intuition is

[6:08] a muscle and so much in the self-help

[6:10] space is like you know listen to that

[6:12] small inner voice

[6:14] and there's so much noise coming in

[6:18] people can't hear that small inner voice

[6:20] let alone trusting it let alone acting

[6:23] on it so you need to just stop with the

[6:28] input and create some space face and

[6:32] then you can hear

[6:34] yourself and sometimes it'll be right

[6:37] and sometimes it'll lead you somewhere

[6:40] else that you'll think is wrong but

[6:41] that'll turn out right afterwards when

[6:43] you zoom back and look at the whole

[6:45] situation but

[6:48] uh yeah input fasting it's good for you

[6:52] I mean how do you think people should

[6:54] create a structure for themselves to

[6:56] have that space because we're so

[6:59] attached to the phones and you know

[7:01] being with in the digital information

[7:02] world what do you recommend mhm

[7:05] mhm uh to create that space yeah um less

[7:10] seeking of external input as I just said

[7:14] I think you have to have some kind of

[7:15] practice of Stillness in your life yeah

[7:18] and I know everybody would like to avoid

[7:21] it I know we would like to take

[7:22] shortcuts I mean look the first thing I

[7:24] do in the morning when I roll over in

[7:26] bed is I check my phone and then I

[7:28] meditate so I'm not saying like yeah

[7:32] right so I wanted I just want to see who

[7:34] loves

[7:35] me how many people liked meem did I get

[7:38] affirmation for my value on the planet

[7:40] right um and then I tune in so whatever

[7:44] it is for you if it's like if it's your

[7:46] morning run if it's your time on the

[7:48] elliptical if it's 4 minutes if you're

[7:51] really going to give her and sit for you

[7:53] know 20 minutes to an hour like you must

[7:56] have that it's like you know we clean

[7:58] our bodies we clean our system you know

[8:01] that light that you encounter when

[8:03] you're in a meditative state that is a

[8:05] cleaning of the mind and it needs to

[8:08] happen so that you don't get the fog the

[8:13] confusion I mean I think the most basic

[8:16] level so many people can relate to just

[8:19] waking up in the morning and not knowing

[8:22] exactly what the priorities are mhm so

[8:24] many people do that right it's that

[8:27] fogginess and this can go W for years

[8:31] decades for people decades and then they

[8:33] wake up and say what's my purpose what

[8:35] am I doing all this for yeah what's the

[8:37] reason it adds up and you you're on

[8:39] Prozac you're in the wrong job smoking

[8:42] drinking you're in the wrong

[8:43] relationship you don't feel the way you

[8:45] want to feel so regular Stillness I

[8:49] think there's a difference between

[8:50] meditation and contemplation and

[8:54] prayer ideally you're using all of them

[8:56] I meant meditation is

[9:00] it's formulaic you're sitting there's

[9:03] there it has process it's an actual

[9:06] process and you find the way of

[9:08] meditating that works for you

[9:10] contemplation is just like you're

[9:13] actually actively thinking you are in

[9:15] you're very much in your mind thinking

[9:18] through things you are being considerate

[9:20] about what's happening in your life and

[9:22] then prayer is it's a

[9:25] conversation you know and prayer can be

[9:29] for lot of us is just making the request

[9:32] over and over again for me I'm much

[9:35] happier when prayer is about

[9:37] gratitude and I really want to meet my

[9:39] maker

[9:41] halfway uh yeah but those

[9:46] things that's a reason everybody's been

[9:48] talking about it for 2,000 years right

[9:50] Stillness needs to happen it's true now

[9:52] you say the uh the best self-help is

[9:56] self-compassion yeah why is that booah

[9:59] that's that's it that's the whole

[10:03] point my journey has been one of

[10:07] exhaustion and

[10:09] burnout and you seem pretty good right

[10:11] now I'm so good right now I'm so

[10:13] liberated now I am I am I am rested and

[10:18] filled up with a lot of

[10:21] gratitude and there was always lots of

[10:24] gratitude but I'm not striving anymore

[10:27] in the way that I used to strive you

[10:29] mean you just be constantly working and

[10:30] grinding type of thing yeah there was

[10:32] always the career

[10:34] grind and you know be seen hit the list

[10:38] get the followers I mean you know like

[10:39] we're in the same space um but

[10:42] underneath that there was this spiritual

[10:46] striving so you know I grew up

[10:49] Catholic and it's all about press

[10:52] impressing God it's all it is all about

[10:55] the points right and getting access

[10:58] you're in or you're out if you're good

[11:00] or you're bad and I mean that's a very

[11:03] black and white way of putting it but

[11:05] that's not that far off right

[11:09] and I

[11:11] thought I let that go I thought I let

[11:14] that striving go I I I mean I thought I

[11:16] was Freer than I really was but I've

[11:19] really just replaced that dictatorial

[11:23] God with another kind of God who looked

[11:26] really great in black yoga stretchy P

[11:28] pants sure I went to burning man you

[11:32] know it like it's much more Progressive

[11:33] and sexually liberated but I was still

[11:36] really just trying to get these Cosmic

[11:38] brownie points as you know am I am I

[11:41] good enough am I enlightened enough am I

[11:44] are my thoughts clean enough am I have I

[11:46] done enough

[11:48] cleansing and it's exhausting and

[11:51] expensive and you know I was looking at

[11:53] my day planner it's like there you know

[11:57] I there's a channeling appointment and

[11:58] there's a yoga treat and I got to go get

[12:00] my [ __ ] protein powder we're over

[12:03] obsessed with protein and then there's a

[12:05] therapy session and then maybe you know

[12:08] and what if what if I just let

[12:11] go just for a moment what if I even just

[12:14] considered letting go we'll just ask

[12:16] everybody listening right now what if

[12:18] where do I look what if you considered

[12:21] right now not wanting to change who you

[12:24] are and how you are no striving to

[12:28] change

[12:31] for me that question is just a melter

[12:35] it's almost like confusing too because

[12:37] we're in this constant push to get

[12:41] better mhm and when I started to let

[12:43] that go because that does not happen in

[12:45] a lightning bolt because that is so

[12:47] deeply ingrained because I'm actually

[12:49] living a really normal life yeah

[12:54] um there was more

[12:57] spaciousness and I became much more

[13:01] friendly with myself when you let go of

[13:04] striving when I let go of the striving

[13:06] but is that striving to achieve or

[13:08] striving to become a better human being

[13:11] both both I'm not broken MH I'm not

[13:16] flawed I'm

[13:18] not um I don't need to be fixed I need

[13:22] to be celebrated I need to be honored I

[13:26] deserve to be loved and that has to

[13:28] start with me

[13:30] and so all of those moments where I'm

[13:32] just like you should have said something

[13:35] different you should have worked longer

[13:37] you should have worked harder you should

[13:38] have been more loving you should this is

[13:40] a big one es this is a big one

[13:43] especially for women you should be over

[13:45] it by now I mean those are really harsh

[13:48] things that we would never say to our

[13:51] best friend you sit with your friend

[13:54] again and again and again and you listen

[13:56] to them go on about the chump when

[13:57] you're like I think you need to dump the

[13:59] gy but you listen and so you know the

[14:02] medicine really happens when we feel

[14:05] like we're at our worst when we are

[14:07] our Biggest Loser selves and you

[14:13] say you trying your best of course

[14:16] you're in pain of

[14:18] course you're still hurt of course and

[14:23] then there's some

[14:26] space some solutions start coming in

[14:29] yeah you stand up a little straighter

[14:31] you have just succeeded at being that

[14:34] loving person that you've been going to

[14:35] all those damn workshops about cuz you

[14:38] loved yourself when you thought you were

[14:40] a loser mhm yeah and it makes you so

[14:44] much

[14:44] more that self-compassion makes you so

[14:47] much

[14:48] more flexible and compassionate for what

[14:51] other people are going through and you

[14:54] become

[14:56] less of a Preacher I mean I became less

[14:59] less of a motivational speaker just like

[15:02] listen I this is what I've been throughh

[15:05] everybody's where they're

[15:09] at you are

[15:11] pre-qualified just because you showed up

[15:14] yeah

[15:16] H do you feel like you uh

[15:19] um talking about growth do you feel like

[15:23] we should be consistently trying to grow

[15:25] or just stay where we're at oh I don't

[15:28] think that we should stay where we're at

[15:31] I mean the desire is still there to I

[15:35] mean I'm a Seeker I am hungry I want the

[15:38] answers I am driven to what are the

[15:41] answers you're looking for oh I want to

[15:43] know how creation happens I want to know

[15:46] how colors are made in the universe I

[15:48] want to know our relationship to you

[15:51] know other species on this planet into

[15:54] other dimensions I want to know what our

[15:56] true nature is I want to know where Joy

[15:58] comes from from I Want to Know What Love

[16:00] really is like what is the science of

[16:03] love what's the esoteric

[16:05] explanation

[16:07] why why is the planet a mess I want to

[16:12] know where hope comes from you know

[16:14] where does Hope meet being realistic I

[16:18] want to know if there's such a thing as

[16:19] Destiny I don't think there is um I want

[16:23] to know the difference between hope and

[16:25] optimism I want to know where ideas come

[16:27] from are the ideas coming from within me

[16:30] you know are things pre pre-ordained can

[16:33] we really tell the future like clearly I

[16:36] have some questions you know and and I

[16:40] have to be of service I just um I'm in a

[16:45] lot of Agony about where the world is at

[16:49] I struggle a lot with

[16:52] staying hopeful mhm um some days I just

[16:57] think the [ __ ] is going to go down

[17:01] and we are all going down with it what

[17:03] do you think is the main cause of

[17:08] that I think there's an ignorance

[17:13] about our true

[17:15] power I think that all darkness comes

[17:18] from not facing your soul I

[17:22] think when you are not

[17:24] facing Your Soul Your Truth your full

[17:28] potential IAL your God

[17:31] nature Illusions start to

[17:34] happen and you feel

[17:37] disconnected and when you are

[17:38] disconnected you can very quickly turn

[17:40] into an [ __ ] MH you don't recycle you

[17:44] don't include other people you judge you

[17:47] judge it is the seed of racism and

[17:50] bigotry and

[17:52] misogyny that's what I think the problem

[17:54] is it is uh the deepest darkest kind of

[17:58] disc connection from our light from our

[18:02] Beauty

[18:06] and yeah being connected to use you know

[18:09] your word being connected with your

[18:13] greatness it makes you really fierce in

[18:15] some ways it's that drive to serve and

[18:19] it also makes you very

[18:21] soft and I'm really starting to get

[18:26] that growth is a softening H yeah not a

[18:31] hardening

[18:34] nope I'm curious I was going to go down

[18:36] a different path

[18:37] there I know where you're going um let's

[18:41] talk about beliefs because you said you

[18:43] grew up Catholic and you grew up with

[18:45] certain beliefs I'm assuming right with

[18:47] religion from parents from friends yeah

[18:50] uh and I'm assuming that you have

[18:52] certain beliefs now that are different

[18:53] from your first 20 years of life right

[18:55] oh yeah yeah yeah now why and how do we

[19:00] choose our beliefs and how often is it

[19:03] okay to change them well you can change

[19:05] your beliefs daily it might drive you

[19:06] crazy but like it's up to you this is a

[19:08] democracy right um I think we choose

[19:12] certain beliefs and this this is a

[19:14] really fantastic question because of

[19:18] comfort I think that's the driving

[19:20] reason we want to know that if we are

[19:23] good we will be rewarded MH we want to

[19:27] believe that all of this is going to pay

[19:29] off

[19:31] and we all have

[19:34] different limits on on the pay off right

[19:37] like some of us believe that if we are

[19:39] good today it will pay off tomorrow if

[19:43] we are good in this lifetime we will get

[19:46] the rewards in the afterlife you know

[19:48] some of us believe if we do what we feel

[19:51] is right our version of goodness

[19:55] today it'll pay off some time in the

[19:57] grand scheme of things the reward might

[20:01] not come in this

[20:02] lifetime uh but yeah I think it's all

[20:06] about

[20:10] Comfort how often do you change yours

[20:13] well it depends on the belief right it's

[20:15] a it's a slow it's a slow game I mean

[20:18] I'm in this for the long game I'm in

[20:20] this for many

[20:23] lifetimes um I think big cultural change

[20:27] takes Generations yeah

[20:29] and it actually makes me so much more

[20:31] effective as an activist as someone with

[20:34] a lot of opinions that I share publicly

[20:38] to to to see it that way I used to be in

[20:42] such a rush and it actually creates this

[20:44] kind of zealousness and this anxiety and

[20:47] you really feel like you're never

[20:49] getting ahead and the irony for me at

[20:51] least with just having this bigger

[20:53] perspective is I can see progress more

[20:56] now I'm so much more patient and

[21:00] loving and oh my God my opinions are

[21:04] sharper than ever I am

[21:06] more I just I have more things to say

[21:10] and I want to be really persistent and

[21:13] loud about it

[21:15] really yeah it's time I mean we we used

[21:19] to think it's time I'm telling you now

[21:21] it is really time to stand up on your

[21:24] stage whatever your stage is your stage

[21:26] might be your kitchen table and voicing

[21:29] your opinions with your

[21:31] family nowadays everybody is a

[21:33] broadcaster we are we are the media

[21:38] and you know if you're going to be as

[21:41] great and powerful as we all are

[21:44] aspiring to be with all of our self-help

[21:47] it really starts with putting your

[21:48] beliefs out there

[21:50] publicly yeah no more hiding it's

[21:54] powerful yeah

[21:56] yeah what about forgiveness

[21:59] how do you forgive when you see so many

[22:01] things that you don't enjoy or

[22:03] appreciate or think are wrong in the

[22:04] world yeah when you say the world's a

[22:06] mess how do you forgive certain things

[22:09] people

[22:12] experiences and how often do you

[22:14] forgive I think there might be some

[22:18] things that some of us come across in a

[22:21] lifetime that are unforgivable really

[22:24] yeah and it doesn't mean you won't

[22:26] forgive them eventually in the next

[22:28] Dimension or the next life MH it might

[22:31] be your lesson your karma your Dharma to

[22:35] just hold on to that

[22:37] so some of us just need to be o okay

[22:40] with that I do believe that forgiveness

[22:44] is like the heightened way I feel like

[22:48] it is the aspiration it is forgiveness

[22:49] is the goal

[22:53] and the first step to forgiving is to

[22:57] admit that you don't want to forgive I

[22:59] mean who wants to forgive I read that in

[23:01] here right like you get screwed over and

[23:04] you're frustrated you're pissed yeah

[23:06] because you want to be right of course

[23:08] you want to be right well the ego gets

[23:10] in the way and I also think there is

[23:12] this really healthy Clarity of like this

[23:15] is right and this is wrong this is

[23:17] morality and this is immorality this is

[23:19] how I want to be treated in my life and

[23:21] this is how you treated me and it's not

[23:24] on like there is some like

[23:26] self-certainty about that

[23:28] right

[23:30] um but yeah you know what this goes back

[23:33] to the self-compassion as self-help just

[23:36] admit I don't want to

[23:37] forgive I'm going to just just let me be

[23:40] the douche for a minute right right and

[23:43] then Inc comes that softening and then

[23:45] the next you know so-called step is to

[23:48] just have the desire to

[23:51] forgive and you don't have to plan it

[23:53] out you don't need to think well you

[23:56] know if I forgive them I have to

[23:59] reinvite them to my wedding right you

[24:00] don't have to you don't have to not

[24:02] necessar you don't have to be doing

[24:04] lunch just have the desire it will work

[24:07] its way through you you will write a new

[24:10] story with that

[24:12] person and my experience has

[24:16] been you know we relate to people on a

[24:18] personality

[24:20] level you have your persona and you know

[24:24] you wear a soul named

[24:25] Lewis and you got your stuff you know

[24:30] and you may or may not change so I have

[24:33] to relate to you in that way so I may

[24:36] put up very clear boundaries with you

[24:38] because stuff meaning like stuff that

[24:39] you may not appreciate or stuff that's

[24:40] messy like say you know you done me

[24:42] wrong forgiving doesn't mean I need to

[24:45] give you a chance to like do me right so

[24:47] to speak um but I can forgive your soul

[24:51] and I can do the multi-dimensional work

[24:55] to be like we're all

[24:57] learning

[24:59] I totally get that on some level I am

[25:02] one we're all in this together and I'll

[25:05] work from that place but on the dayto

[25:08] day we're just going to we're going to

[25:11] part ways right right right yeah and you

[25:14] know what's the difference between

[25:16] judgment and discernment you have a

[25:18] great little quote that I read in the

[25:20] end about this but once you feel done

[25:24] wrong by someone how do you not go to

[25:26] place of judgment yeah on that person

[25:29] and say this is who that person is or

[25:31] talking bad about that person you

[25:32] because I've done that in the past where

[25:34] I like someone did me wrong and I'm just

[25:35] like badmouthing them right because I'm

[25:38] just pissed and I catch myself and I'm

[25:40] like all right is this doing me any good

[25:42] it's just hurting me more by talking

[25:44] negative about someone else so how do

[25:46] you go from a place of not being

[25:47] frustrated or judgmental on someone or

[25:51] situation and just being more Discerning

[25:52] and letting it

[25:54] go well I have two answers to that I

[25:57] mean one one point is

[26:00] that I think you bring up a really good

[26:03] part there about is Judgment hurting you

[26:06] is you talking [ __ ] about other people

[26:09] self-destructive I think it feels good

[26:10] in the moment but then at the end of the

[26:12] day I think it's h well it's like a hit

[26:14] right yeah H it's like good heavy

[26:16] nicotine smoke person yeah of course we

[26:20] we all do that and I think that piercing

[26:24] judgment that [ __ ] talk is damaging

[26:27] actually that's really hard not to do uh

[26:30] but if you keep it up it turns into it's

[26:32] poison for yourself and you know you

[26:34] know what's right and wrong and is

[26:37] better to keep it clean but you need to

[26:38] have your moments you know and your Your

[26:40] Inner Circle uh you mean you need to be

[26:43] able to share with your close friends is

[26:44] what you're saying share with your close

[26:45] let it out if you need to yeah yeah uh

[26:49] judgment is a

[26:51] [ __ ] judgment is

[26:54] narrow-minded it's

[26:56] poisonous it's a judgment is a very

[26:59] small

[27:00] thinker uh judgment is ruled by

[27:04] fear um judgment is hyper

[27:08] protective it's very survival

[27:11] based it's uh it's like hanging out at

[27:15] this Neanderthal level

[27:18] discernment is a higher

[27:21] perspective it really kind of sits at

[27:23] the center and it can see right and

[27:24] wrong it's got a 360 degree view

[27:28] it's much more

[27:30] flexible um it's rooted in service it

[27:34] wants Justice it wants to restore order

[27:37] for the right reasons right

[27:40] and you've got to be Discerning if

[27:44] you're really going to tap your power

[27:46] you've got to be Discerning if you're

[27:48] really going to be a creative with a

[27:51] Capital C you need to know the

[27:53] difference between ethical and unethical

[27:56] between what feels good good and what

[27:59] feels offensive to you and you know

[28:02] there's been some times where I've

[28:04] gotten some push back for sharing my

[28:07] opinions and it's that new age chick

[28:10] push back and I get it because I am a

[28:13] new age chick but it's like that's a

[28:17] little judgmental Danielle and um you

[28:20] know especially if you are a female

[28:23] speaking out against another female's

[28:26] Behavior which I very rarely do but

[28:29] there are times to do that to say this

[28:32] is not moving anybody forward especially

[28:35] feminism right and yeah I get that well

[28:39] that's not being very spiritual well

[28:41] actually it's not very spiritual of you

[28:42] to tell me I'm not being very spiritual

[28:44] there's lots of judgment here um but you

[28:47] need to voice what is right and what is

[28:50] wrong for you and that is how you create

[28:54] change we cannot move forward if we say

[28:57] this is broken mhm yeah we need to yeah

[29:01] spot it how important is it to

[29:04] understand one's ego when it comes to

[29:05] spiritual growth oh you know the

[29:08] ego I love my ego yeah I I mean of

[29:13] course I do right because that's what

[29:14] the ego does the ego loves itself yeah

[29:17] that was a double ont um the ego is so

[29:21] misunderstood I mean it's I put it in

[29:22] the category of the word

[29:26] love forgive it's just

[29:29] really

[29:31] complicated you have to have an ego to

[29:33] move through the world you you do it is

[29:36] a in some cases it's a really healthy

[29:40] defense

[29:41] mechanism the ego is so related to

[29:45] persona it's like you have a brand that

[29:48] is you know closely part of your spirit

[29:50] like you're on target right I have

[29:52] become the so-called brand which still

[29:55] kind of makes me laugh but that's ego

[29:58] and that's part of being effective in a

[30:00] world I in the world I need to package

[30:03] myself in a way that feels true for me

[30:06] so that I can find my tribe essentially

[30:10] and be of service share your message and

[30:12] get it out there yeah um but ego is like

[30:15] sugar just a little bit goes a long way

[30:19] I think we could operate on the 8020 RO

[30:23] with the ego 20% Persona

[30:26] 80% truth and

[30:29] Essence and when we get carried away we

[30:33] get with the ego further and further

[30:35] away from our truth in our soul more

[30:39] narcissistic more self you know

[30:41] unhealthy version of self centered

[30:44] really

[30:45] disconnected yeah is there anywhere you

[30:47] feel disconnected anywhere that I feel

[30:51] disconnected there's some people I feel

[30:54] disconnected from sometimes like I just

[30:56] did I just instead of speaking

[30:59] gig and I have a what I do is I walk the

[31:03] room before my gig and of course I can't

[31:08] be Incognito I come out and people are

[31:10] just like oh hi what are you doing out

[31:13] from behind stage I'm just like I just

[31:15] want to be with my people and I I

[31:19] recently did a gig and I walked down I

[31:20] was

[31:21] like mostly dudes MH 30

[31:25] something business

[31:28] they want to know how to rock their

[31:29] Facebook following and I'm just like

[31:32] [ __ ] I don't know how this is going to

[31:35] go because I'm going to be up there

[31:38] talking about facing your soul and what

[31:42] conscious business really is and I don't

[31:44] care if you're going public do not give

[31:47] a [ __ ] anymore I care what you are doing

[31:50] for the

[31:51] public and I had to Pivot pretty

[31:55] quick and I knew that I was not going to

[31:59] hit it with the majority of that

[32:02] audience but I knew I was going to hit

[32:04] it really deep with some people in the

[32:07] audience and my my calling in that

[32:12] moment like

[32:13] my Mo my what I had to rise to was to be

[32:19] myself

[32:22] anyway and I don't know that I did it I

[32:25] gave myself a B I mean apparently I was

[32:26] like an a

[32:28] in that gig but I felt pretty

[32:31] disconnected from from that group and

[32:34] I'm just never [ __ ] again you know

[32:36] I'm only going to speak to the

[32:38] choir the that get it the ones that get

[32:40] it and I have that struggle I mean that

[32:42] is a very specific professional struggle

[32:45] for me do I train the trainers teach the

[32:47] teachers do I just like hang with the

[32:49] tribe man you know um or do I push

[32:52] myself and my current answer is um I go

[32:57] where the resonance is MH go where the

[32:59] resonance is because if I'm standing on

[33:02] stage or writing or whatever it is and

[33:05] I'm trying to convert you no listen it's

[33:08] highly inefficient thing to do with my

[33:10] energy and I don't feel liberated and I

[33:12] don't feel super turned on I yeah I want

[33:16] to

[33:17] be I want to be where the light is the

[33:20] light that I recognize yeah how can

[33:23] someone create a wellness support system

[33:25] oh well you got to text your girlfriend

[33:27] obsessively every

[33:29] day girls already do that here yeah yeah

[33:32] it's a religion you know I see Jen's

[33:34] phone just constantly texting her

[33:35] girlfriends yeah we I actually can't

[33:37] speak publicly about it but yeah

[33:40] okay

[33:41] um it's a mix of things so you know my

[33:44] observation in being in the wellness

[33:47] space is that we get on this path

[33:50] of

[33:53] Purity and cleansing you talk about

[33:56] cleansing a lot oh it's like cleansing

[33:58] and it's like I'm only going to see my

[33:59] natural path and I'm going to meditate

[34:02] on you know where the stuck energy is in

[34:06] my body and all those things need to

[34:08] happen I mean all of that you know

[34:12] Eastern basically the Eastern holistic

[34:14] approach needs to infiltrate the Western

[34:17] dysfunctional

[34:18] approach

[34:20] but those of us who have been on that

[34:23] you know quote unquote holistic path we

[34:25] need to lighten up on the way to

[34:28] Enlightenment with this because you know

[34:30] I've been like coughing up along with a

[34:32] friend she's like you need to get to a

[34:34] doctor you need antibiotics and I was

[34:37] like oh I was just like going to bring

[34:39] down more light and take some

[34:41] mechona and I think you know everybody's

[34:46] everybody's sorry everybody's body

[34:49] is a complex system you are more complex

[34:54] than any software Hardware program and

[34:57] you need a

[35:00] multi-dimensional multi-prong approach

[35:03] to your healing yeah so you might need a

[35:06] shaman and you might need

[35:08] chemotherapy and you may need green

[35:11] juice and every once in a

[35:12] while you know you maybe you got to do

[35:16] some

[35:16] iasa you have to piece it together

[35:19] yourself without judgment as to what

[35:23] works for you and let's just put all

[35:26] that

[35:29] wholeness in a

[35:30] bubble and I also want to say you know

[35:32] we are a culture who is addicted to

[35:37] anti-depressants and prescriptions that

[35:39] come from people who don't really know

[35:41] us who don't take the time to test us

[35:43] properly ask us about our personal

[35:47] emotional

[35:48] histories um I mean there's so much

[35:50] addiction and blindness happening in the

[35:52] wellness

[35:53] space so and there's not one pill you

[35:56] know fits all no there

[35:59] isn't there isn't one spiritual

[36:02] prescription there isn't one medical

[36:04] prescription you have to kind of quilt

[36:06] together your program

[36:08] and it takes more time it takes more

[36:12] patience it takes more courage to do

[36:16] that because you don't just have your

[36:18] 15minute appointment you got to do your

[36:21] research

[36:23] yeah what do you want people to know

[36:25] about white hot truth

[36:28] uh and why should they get it white hot

[36:30] truth and why should get besides the

[36:31] fact that I love input uh and who's it

[36:35] for

[36:37] specifically that's a good question it's

[36:39] for anybody who identifies as being a

[36:42] Seeker it's for anybody

[36:46] who listens to all of our inspirational

[36:50] motivational podcast because they want

[36:52] to be better it's for anybody who ever

[36:54] wanted to escape their Church whatever

[36:58] that church is it's for anybody who

[37:03] is in the selfhelp space and still

[37:06] feeling like it's not quite right for

[37:10] them like there's this question around

[37:12] boundaries it's for anybody who is

[37:15] tired of a point system around going to

[37:19] yoga um it's for anybody who thinks

[37:22] their goals might be just a little bit

[37:24] [ __ ] up right

[37:26] now yeah and what do I want people to

[37:29] know about

[37:31] it

[37:35] uh it really comes from the heart this

[37:39] is my I could tell

[37:41] fiercest most tender offering to date

[37:46] it's very powerful yeah yeah I could

[37:47] tell reading it you know what I could

[37:49] tell what you know there's some stuff if

[37:51] I'm just being honest here since this is

[37:53] the white hot truth there's some stuff

[37:56] from the past when I read

[37:58] and I'm sure with me as well but some

[38:00] stuff that you've written in the past

[38:01] but I felt like sometimes it felt forced

[38:03] to me it didn't feel fully who you were

[38:07] it felt like what you said a little

[38:08] preachy sometimes M and this feels the

[38:10] most authentic I've ever seen the type

[38:13] of work you've done it feels like yes I

[38:15] was like yes yes yes and that's all you

[38:17] I can feel it so that's what I really

[38:19] love about it it feels like something

[38:21] you don't want to put down it's very

[38:23] powerful thank you as opposed to like uh

[38:25] she preachy or she this or oh well I'm

[38:27] still just as preachy yeah but it's

[38:29] authentic I think you know in the past

[38:32] there was this anger and this

[38:36] pointedness and this kind

[38:38] of you know that edge yes I really

[38:42] wanted you to [ __ ] hear what I had to

[38:44] say yes you still want be able to hear

[38:46] but just a softer Edge yeah now I like

[38:48] I'm just not as

[38:50] attached and there's not a right and

[38:52] wrong yeah and that is from a place of

[38:57] self-respect and you know deeper

[39:01] self-love I'm also I'm divorced now and

[39:05] I was in a long-term relationship where

[39:07] there was that constant push and pull

[39:10] and that really affected my creative

[39:12] output I mean when you're in when you're

[39:14] swimming

[39:15] in um when you're swimming in Conflict

[39:19] whether it's romantic or professional or

[39:22] creative it will seep into your whole

[39:25] life and so part of my path of

[39:27] Liberation was like cleaning all of that

[39:29] up really reclaiming my body my

[39:33] sensibilities my

[39:35] beliefs

[39:37] and it's good it's whole yeah it is it's

[39:40] a great book yeah

[39:42] um few questions I want to ask you left

[39:45] if you had an unlimited amount of money

[39:49] yeah just given to you that you could

[39:50] use to solve One Challenge in the world

[39:53] and you wouldn't have any money left but

[39:54] it would solve that challenge yeah or

[39:57] issue or concern

[39:59] or cancer what would you want to solve I

[40:03] love questions like these yeah because

[40:05] this is an impossible question love it

[40:08] uh one one and it was solved

[40:14] forever I don't know if it would solve

[40:16] anything forever but I would like this

[40:18] to go on forever it would have to do

[40:21] with mindfulness and

[40:22] children I think if you can teach kids

[40:25] to be self-reflective to know that they

[40:28] have control or a lot of control over

[40:31] their nervous system if you can teach

[40:33] them about their innate power and mental

[40:36] Clarity and

[40:38] Beauty boom you have connectivity you

[40:42] were then then you know what you you

[40:43] grow

[40:44] environmentalists you grow activists you

[40:47] grow loving beings Progressive humans

[40:51] who are taking all

[40:53] solutions um all problems into their

[40:56] their own hands I think that's good and

[40:57] there's I see more and more videos

[40:59] online of like classrooms doing this and

[41:01] like detention doing meditation and I'm

[41:04] like that's powerful yeah were you in

[41:06] detention a lot when you were a kid just

[41:08] a few times not too many times I cheated

[41:10] all the time but I never got caught yeah

[41:13] I would cheat on like quizzes and tests

[41:14] and homework because that was the only

[41:16] way I could get through school yeah

[41:18] because it just I couldn't figure it out

[41:20] yeah so it's like my survive mechanism

[41:22] survival mechanism yeah but I only got

[41:23] caught like a couple times and I went to

[41:26] yeah like detention once or twice and I

[41:28] I remember having Saturday detention

[41:30] which is the worst the worst oh yeah you

[41:33] have to be in school essentially all day

[41:35] Saturday yeah it's the worst feeling

[41:37] ever and you just sit in a room with

[41:39] like 30 other kids who are in detention

[41:40] as well for like Saturday detention or

[41:42] something no good you sit around do

[41:44] nothing there's just someone watching

[41:45] you and you just have to like work on

[41:46] homework or something but you can't

[41:48] speak you can't you just sit at your

[41:49] desk for eight hours misery MH I never

[41:52] wanted to get do that again so um I

[41:55] learned how to cheat efficient ly yeah

[41:58] without getting caught or otherwise I

[42:00] would just get an F if I knew I was

[42:01] getting caught so unfortunately that's

[42:03] how I had to deal with it but um well I

[42:07] like that answer it's a good answer I

[42:08] think it's

[42:09] powerful if you had to I don't know if I

[42:12] asked you this last time you were on I

[42:13] think two years ago before we had this

[42:15] whole setup and before we had

[42:17] advancement Swanky paneling right yeah

[42:19] so if you had

[42:21] to get a tattoo on your forehead for

[42:25] life I already have a lot of tattoos

[42:27] that I wish I didn't have really yeah

[42:29] what's the one that you're glad you do

[42:30] have oh well I'm down I'm down with my

[42:34] arm tattoos are Co so the butterfly the

[42:38] story here is that it's not about

[42:41] metamorphosis it that I read that in

[42:46] Native Indian American

[42:50] practice the Warriors would paint the

[42:52] butterfly on their Shield because they

[42:55] thought that to come out in a world

[42:57] where you did know what was on the other

[42:58] side was the most courageous act wow so

[43:00] I was like that's hot and then my circle

[43:04] which I just love artistically CU a

[43:06] circle is very hard to tattoo like I

[43:08] went to Bob and and Bob was like so how

[43:11] many people said they wouldn't do this

[43:13] tattoo and I was like um I just called

[43:15] you yeah right and it's a reference it's

[43:19] a Buddhist reference to that you know

[43:21] everything is empty but everything is

[43:24] form at the same time and then it's also

[43:27] my reference which is

[43:30] like I'm

[43:32] open but I have boundaries but you're

[43:34] closed [ __ ] it's like the wisdom

[43:36] of paradox right that's right I'm whole

[43:39] but I'm empty I'm open but I'm closed I

[43:41] am love and I have standards right

[43:44] exactly I like that um okay well if if

[43:47] you had to put a tattoo on your forehead

[43:49] that was reverse so every time you

[43:51] looked in the mirror only you could see

[43:54] it I was going to say you got this but

[43:57] no

[43:58] um

[44:02] uh this is there well listen my design

[44:04] sensibility is very strong so I would

[44:07] just have a beautiful Bindy dot right

[44:10] there and oh it has to say something

[44:12] sorry I'm really I'm not following the

[44:14] directions phrase or word

[44:19] um you are here you are here there you

[44:23] go okay um

[44:28] I don't know if I asked you this last

[44:29] time this is called the three truths

[44:31] okay I got a lot of truths so I can give

[44:33] you well you got the truth bombs yeah so

[44:35] this is the three truths you've written

[44:37] many truths every day there's truth

[44:40] bombs on your Instagram your website

[44:42] right the white hot truth you know

[44:45] everything about you is truth and this

[44:47] is the final day for you many years from

[44:49] now as long as you want to live you live

[44:51] as long as you want to I'm going for 111

[44:53] by the way I like it it's a good number

[44:55] yep you create cre everything you want

[44:57] yeah every dream comes true everything

[45:00] you've ever wanted for yourself for the

[45:02] world and then it's the last day and for

[45:05] whatever reason every book and video and

[45:08] thing you've put out there truth bomb

[45:09] has been erased for whatever reason it's

[45:12] gone I'm okay with that I don't need to

[45:13] leave a legacy exactly but you do have a

[45:16] piece of paper and a pen and you get to

[45:18] write three final truths this is all the

[45:21] world remembers you bu are these three

[45:23] things kind of your three truths your

[45:24] lessons of Life whatever you want say

[45:27] yeah what would you write down I loved

[45:30] you yeah I

[45:33] loved that's it one truth no it's I I

[45:38] loved loved you okay yeah I showed up

[45:42] with my heart yeah there you go I like

[45:45] that I want to acknowledge you for a

[45:47] moment Danielle you're great at

[45:49] acknowledging thank you people need to

[45:51] meet Lewis just so you can get the

[45:53] acknowledgement

[45:54] moment yeah well I want to acknowledge

[45:57] you

[45:58] for your growth and your service to so

[46:02] many people I think it takes a lot of

[46:03] courage to speak your mind and your

[46:06] truth because you do get attacked from

[46:09] time to time and it comes up with

[46:10] different frustrations from time to time

[46:12] from people so you putting your voice

[46:15] out there for women especially but for

[46:18] men as well is such a profound thing to

[46:20] show them what's possible for their

[46:22] lives so I'm very grateful for your

[46:24] Truth for your courage for your love to

[46:26] the world and for your constant growth

[46:28] to create products like white hot truth

[46:33] so thank you for all you do yes do my

[46:35] best brother yes yes um make sure you

[47:21] what matters to you and it's based on

[47:25] every chapter you we're going to talk

[47:27] about forgiveness and boundaries versus

[47:30] barriers and your tribe and yeah I just

[47:33] want people to get together and have

[47:35] great great conversations about

[47:38] meaningfulness that's cool yeah very

[47:40] cool I've asked you your definition of

[47:42] greatness before so this is going to be

[47:45] a different question and this will be

[47:47] the final question thank you yes I like

[47:49] God don't ask me about greatness again

[47:52] so this will be your final question um

[47:55] imagine that this microphone is

[47:57] connected to 8 billion people in the

[47:59] world right now I think there's 8

[48:01] billion people right how many people are

[48:02] well yeah Lads of last night is 7.5

[48:05] billion really yeah okay 7.5 billion

[48:08] plus all the newborn babies and there's

[48:11] headsets connected to the babies in the

[48:12] bellies everywhere your point is

[48:15] everybody's going to hear this every

[48:17] listening right now yes okay right now

[48:19] they're listening and you have 60

[48:21] seconds or less to share a message to

[48:25] the world mhm and they will all hear it

[48:28] no pressure thanks no pressure what

[48:30] would you

[48:31] say daniel.com

[48:34] um PL yes check it out

[48:41] now I would

[48:46] say truth light

[48:51] Faith

[48:53] love

[48:55] joy

[48:56] that's it you just need the ideas you

[48:59] don't need the answers you can't fit it

[49:03] into a sentence with a

[49:06] period yeah just from my heart to 7.5

[49:10] billion

[49:13] people just that energy yeah awesome

[49:17] Danielle thank you so much appreciate it

[49:19] thank you you're amazing

[49:25] always

Frequently Asked Questions

LaPorte describes wisdom as holding contradictory truths at the same time—forgive but don't forget, trust but do the work, get real and be idealistic. Wholeness is inclusive; it's always "both and," not "either or." Real wisdom understands there's a time for everything, and the greatest teachers carry these inherent contradictions.
An input fast means stopping the constant seeking of external guidance—psychic readings, coaching sessions, retreats, therapy. LaPorte realized this pattern was actually preventing her from trusting her own intuition. By creating a break from external input, you give your inner knowing space to emerge and rebuild your ability to listen to yourself.
Intuition develops through practice and trust, similar to any other skill. LaPorte suggests starting with a stillness practice—meditation, contemplation, or prayer—to clear the mental fog so you can actually hear your inner voice. Then you need to act on what you sense, even when you're uncertain. Sometimes you'll be right, sometimes you'll learn something unexpected, but over time the muscle strengthens.
Meditation is a formulaic process where you sit and follow a specific method. Contemplation is active thinking—you're deliberately considering what's happening in your life. Prayer is conversation, ideally centered on gratitude rather than petition. LaPorte recommends using all three as part of a complete stillness practice.
Constant self-improvement effort is often rooted in the belief that something is fundamentally wrong with you. Self-compassion—meeting yourself with kindness instead of judgment—addresses the underlying wound. Real transformation comes from accepting yourself, not from fighting yourself. The exhaustion that breaks old patterns is actually information that your current strategy isn't working.
Start by reducing external input: less seeking of guidance, fewer apps, less scrolling. Establish a daily stillness practice, even just a few minutes. Clear the fog through meditation or another practice that works for you. The goal isn't transcendence; it's practical clarity about what actually matters to you and what your priorities are.
No. She's pointing to an imbalance where external guidance becomes a substitute for your own authority. The question is whether you're using guidance to strengthen your intuition or replace it. The input fast is a reset to remember how to trust yourself, not a permanent rejection of all teachers and tools.
