Yoga Workshop

About This Event

Description

- la Postura di Vairocana;
- la meditazione del corpo vuoto e dei canali vuoti;
- il Canto Vajra;
- la respirazione in nove cicli;
- i 24 esercizi dello Yoga Nejang, spiegati uno per uno;
- il Bumpachen, o respirazione del grande vaso;

Common Questions

FAQs

Nejang is a gentle Tibetan yoga linked to the Kalachakra Tantra and passed down within Sowa Rigpa, Tibetan traditional medicine. It uses repeated movements, self-massage and a specific held breath called "partial vase breathing", aiming to release blockages in the channels. The name means "purifying a place" (ne = place, jang = purify).
The programme covers Vairocana posture, the empty body and empty channels meditation, the Vajra chant, nine-cycle breathing, all 24 Nejang exercises with a detailed explanation of each, and Bumpachen (great vase breathing). It also includes insights from Sowa Rigpa on balancing body, energy and mind, the three "go sum" or doors.
It starts with a one-hour session on Friday evening. Saturday, Sunday and Monday have morning and afternoon blocks of three hours each, and Tuesday is a morning session. The organizers describe it as going beyond a typical weekend intensive, and it can be experienced as a practice retreat.
No prerequisites or previous yoga experience are required. Exercises can be adapted to different physical conditions, ages and body types. Nejang can also be practised seated on a chair if a cross-legged posture on the ground is difficult.
