Five Steps to Unshakable Faith and Trust

That voice in the back of your mind—the one that whispers when you've set a clear intention, mapped out a vision board, or written down exactly what you want: I don't trust this can actually happen. It shows up across every domain of life. In relationships, careers, health, finances, even in how you hold the state of the world itself. When things feel shaky, the instinct is to grip tighter, to control more, to figure it all out. But what if the path forward isn't through tightening your fists—but through learning to open them?

That's the architecture of five practices Gabrielle Bernstein has distilled over two decades of helping people move through crisis, addiction, depression, and the smaller but no less real blocks that keep us stuck. These are practices drawn from work in progress, revealed here for the first time: five steps to unshakable faith. They're not magical thinking. They're not about pretending hard things don't exist. They're about a fundamental reorientation—from the exhausting work of trying to orchestrate your life toward a state of knowing that what's meant for you will arrive in right time and order.

The Cost of Living Without Trust

The lack of trust runs deeper than skepticism about a single desire. Bernstein describes it as pervasive: in classrooms, audiences, close friendships. It manifests as a low hum of doubt beneath otherwise solid intentions. A woman—Bernstein's sister-in-law Meredith—shared a story that crystallized this during a brunch conversation. Meredith had spent years focused entirely on her sons, guiding them through high school and toward college. She'd done it with devotion, and the evidence of her impact was undeniable: a text from her eldest son expressing deep gratitude for her presence in his life. By any measure, she had succeeded at her primary mission.

Yet in that moment, Meredith felt adrift. The identity she'd poured herself into was shifting. She told Bernstein: "I don't know what my purpose is anymore. I've lost my drive at work. I feel disconnected in my relationships and friendships." She was searching for something beyond motherhood, a professional path that would light her up again. And when Bernstein painted a vision of what two years from now might hold—empty nest, a corner office, a consulting business where she'd work four days a week, make more money than ever, have time for vacations and self-care—Meredith felt it. Her body responded. Her energy shifted.

Then, immediately, the doubt collapsed in: "Yeah, I do not trust that that can happen."

And everything changed again. The vibration dropped. The aliveness vanished. This is the cost of trust deficit: it doesn't matter how clearly you dream, how aligned the vision is, or how real the desire feels in your body. Without trust, doubt intercepts the signal before grace can arrive.

Step One: Are You Willing to Heal?

Before any of the five steps can work, Bernstein asks a foundational question that has shaped her practice for 20 years: "Are you willing to heal that part of you that doesn't trust the universe?" This isn't about positive affirmation layered over unhealed doubt. It's about acknowledging the wound itself—the part of you that learned, at some point, that the world is unsafe, that you can't rely on what you want, that control is the only insurance against disappointment.

The first practice is deceptively simple: write down all the areas of your life where you feel blocked or uncertain. Not just the major crises. The small stuff too. The relationship that hasn't come. The job you haven't manifested. The debt that's still there. The fear about the state of the world. List them all. Then, next to each one, write: "I am willing to heal."

This act of willingness is the unlocking mechanism. Bernstein emphasizes: "Your willingness to heal opens the door." It doesn't mean you're healed yet. It means you're no longer defending the wound or insisting that your doubt is protective. You're saying yes to the possibility that something in you could shift. That's where the real work begins.

Step Two: Giving It Away

Once you've acknowledged the wound, the second step is to release it—not through suppression or toxic positivity, but through a genuine act of surrender. Bernstein teaches that you don't hold onto what you're trying to manifest. You give it away.

The story that illustrates this involves a friend named Mark. Without getting into the full details of his struggle, Bernstein observed something crucial: when Mark stopped fighting, something shifted. His resistance—the part of him gripping the outcome—was what kept him trapped. The moment he actually let go, a new possibility emerged. Not the one he thought he wanted, necessarily, but something that held peace. And peace, Bernstein suggests, is often the real desire underneath all the specifics.

Giving it away means articulating your desire, then consciously releasing it into a larger intelligence—whether you call that God, the universe, your guides, or simply "what's bigger than my own small mind." You stop managing it. You stop rehearsing how it will happen. You put it down.

Step Three: Practicing Non-Interference

This is where the counterintuitive part arrives. Once you've given it away, the third step is to practice what Bernstein calls "non-interference"—which is another way of saying: don't undo the work by trying to control the outcome.

In a modern context, this means resisting the urge to send that text, make that call, engineer that coincidence, force that conversation. The instruction is radical in its simplicity: don't send the message. Do nothing. Let the signal you've sent out to the universe actually settle. Let it work.

Bernstein describes how a woman she worked with had sent a message—a sincere one—and then wanted to follow up, to manage the response, to make sure it landed right. The gift of non-interference was permission to stop. To trust that when she'd sent the message and released it, the energy had already done its job. The miracle isn't that she planned it perfectly. The miracle is that it unfolded in ways she couldn't have choreographed.

Step Four: Listening for Guidance

The fourth step is active, but it's not striving. It's a specific quality of attention: listening for guidance. After you've released your desire and practiced non-interference, the next instruction is to tune in to what's trying to emerge. What signs are showing up? What synchronicities appear? What nudge or intuition comes through?

This requires a kind of receptivity that our culture doesn't train into us. We're trained to push, to make it happen, to control the variables. Listening for guidance reverses that. It says: I've done my part (I've been willing, I've released it, I'm not interfering), now I'm going to pay attention to what's actually trying to find me. What's unfolding around me? Where is the signal?

Step Five: Letting Grace Set In

Once you're genuinely listening, the final step is to let grace do its work. This is the state of knowing—not as a thought, but as a felt sense. It's the shift from "I hope this works out" to "I know this is unfolding." Not because you've forced it, but because you've created the conditions for something larger to move through you.

Bernstein shares a profound example that emerges from the transcript: she visits someone in what sounds like a hospital setting, someone who cannot physically move, whose head is turned, who cannot speak—a man whose life has been altered by crisis. And what she observes is that even in that stillness, even in that apparent powerlessness, something profound has opened in him. A depth of faith. A surrender that wasn't defeat but was actually freedom. He's learned, in a way that can't be forced or faked, that he doesn't need to control his life. That he can survive—and more than survive, can find meaning—without orchestrating every variable.

That's grace setting in. It's what becomes possible when you stop fighting.

The Meditation: Letting Go and Listening

Bernstein guides listeners through a meditation designed to embody these steps. It's not lengthy coaching. It's a practice—a way to feel the shift from control to trust in your own nervous system. The meditation is an invitation to notice what it feels like to actually put something down, to hear what comes when you stop talking so loudly in your own head, to reconnect with the knowing that everything is going to be okay.

That last phrase is worth sitting with: everything is going to be okay. Not everything is going to go according to your timeline or your specific vision. But in the deepest sense—in the sense that matters—you're going to be okay. Your resilience is deeper than you think. Your nature is to survive, to adapt, to find meaning even in the hardest chapters. That's not naïve. That's wisdom drawn from experience—both Bernstein's and, now, your own.

Where to go from here

The five steps work best not as intellectual concepts but as lived practices. Start with willingness—write your list of areas where you feel blocked, and next to each, write "I am willing to heal." Notice what shifts when you move from resistance to openness. Then practice giving it away: articulate your desire clearly, then consciously release it. Resist the urge to manage or control. Listen. And finally, settle into the feeling that you don't have to orchestrate everything—that grace, in whatever form makes sense to you, is already at work.

[0:00] How many times have you held a desire

[0:02] only to have that inner voice come in

[0:04] and whisper, [music] "I don't trust that

[0:06] this can actually happen. Maybe you

[0:07] don't trust your health. Maybe you don't

[0:09] trust that relationship or even [music]

[0:12] trust the state of the world right now."

[0:13] When things feel shaky, it's really easy

[0:15] to stay stuck in control mode. But I

[0:17] have got the five-step plan to move you

[0:20] from fear into [music] a state of grace,

[0:22] into a state of trust, into a state of

[0:24] knowing. By the end of this episode, you

[0:26] won't just know about trust. you will

[0:29] have a practical [music] five-step road

[0:32] map to live it. I'm going to show you

[0:34] how to trade your anxiety for profound

[0:37] sense [music] of safety inside so you

[0:38] can finally wake up and know with

[0:40] absolute certainty that you're going to

[0:43] be okay. If you're ready to stop

[0:44] fighting [music] and start living with a

[0:46] whole new level of trust, this plan is

[0:49] for you.

[0:51] How many of you have had those moments

[0:54] where you're creating those big vision

[0:56] boards and you have that really clear

[0:58] list of what it is that you want to

[1:00] manifest or you've got your

[1:01] manifestation statement really clear,

[1:04] but you've got that voice in the back of

[1:06] your mind that's like, I don't think

[1:07] this can actually happen. How the hell

[1:09] is this actually going to happen? How am

[1:11] I going to manifest this? I see this

[1:13] lack of trust all the time. I see it

[1:15] coming out in relationships. I don't

[1:17] trust that I can have the relationship

[1:18] that I really want or I don't trust that

[1:21] I can have that career path or that

[1:23] abundance that I desire or the health

[1:25] that I believe I need. So many people

[1:27] live with that lack of trust or a lot of

[1:29] people out there feeling right now like

[1:31] I don't trust the world right now. I see

[1:33] this all over the place. I don't just

[1:34] see this in my classroom and in my

[1:36] audiences, but I see this with my close

[1:39] friends. I recently had lunch with my

[1:41] sister-in-law, Meredith, and she's also

[1:42] one of my best friends in the world. and

[1:44] we're sitting down and we're having our

[1:45] cappuccinos and we're just shooting the

[1:47] and talking about everything that

[1:48] life brings. And out of the blue, she

[1:50] looks at me and she says, "I've got

[1:51] something really serious I want to talk

[1:53] to you about." And I was like, "Okay,

[1:55] bring it on. Tell me what's up." And she

[1:57] looks at me and she's like, "Gab, I

[1:58] don't know what my purpose is anymore.

[2:01] I've lost my drive at work. I feel

[2:03] disconnected in my relationships, and my

[2:06] friendships. I've put all my energy into

[2:09] getting my boys through high school and

[2:10] getting them off to college. and I'm

[2:12] really so focused on my boys, but other

[2:14] than that, I don't feel like I have a

[2:16] sense of purpose." And I stopped her in

[2:18] her tracks and I said, "Listen, mayor,

[2:19] the fact that you've put all this energy

[2:21] into your sons and that you've got one

[2:23] off to college next fall, the next one

[2:25] has two more years before he's off to

[2:27] college." I was like, "Girlfriend,

[2:28] you've rocked parenthood." She even

[2:30] shared this text message that my nephew

[2:32] gave her and it was all about how he

[2:34] loved her and he thought that she was

[2:35] the most supportive mother and all the

[2:37] things that she brought into his life

[2:38] were so meaningful. And I was like, you

[2:40] have defined your purpose and you have

[2:43] made it happen. But I also didn't want

[2:45] to minimize the fact that she was

[2:46] feeling out of alignment. She was

[2:48] feeling disconnected from the universe.

[2:50] She was really looking for a sense of

[2:52] purpose in her career and an sense of

[2:54] excitement beyond just what she was

[2:56] bringing to her kids. And I said, "Okay,

[2:58] let's dream big. Let's put it out there.

[3:02] Let's see it through to the end. What

[3:04] happens in two years from now when Eli,

[3:06] your youngest son, is off to college and

[3:08] it's his first day of college and it's

[3:10] day one. You're an empty neester. You

[3:11] wake up in the morning and what do you

[3:13] do? And I started to describe it. I was

[3:15] like, maybe you pick up a cup of coffee

[3:17] and you and Luke, her husband, maybe you

[3:19] guys go off and you walk the dogs

[3:21] together down the road and then after

[3:23] your walk, you both get in the car

[3:24] together and you drive to your office

[3:26] and he goes to his office and you're in

[3:28] your corner office with windows and

[3:30] you're now running your own consulting

[3:32] business. Maybe you're working 10 hours

[3:34] a week for me and you've got a bunch of

[3:35] other cool clients and you're really

[3:37] really lit up with this new job that you

[3:39] have and this new career path and you're

[3:41] making more money than you've ever made

[3:43] before. And I keep going and going and I

[3:45] see her whole face light up and her

[3:46] whole energy starts to shift and I'm

[3:48] like, "Tell me more about what that

[3:49] feels like." And she's like, "Well, I'm

[3:51] working only four days a week in the

[3:53] office and then one day a week I'm just

[3:54] at home with the dogs and I'm working

[3:56] out all the time and I'm going on

[3:58] vacations." And she gets so into it and

[4:00] she's like, "I have more than enough

[4:01] money to save." and she starts feeling

[4:03] so good. And I was like, "Let's ride

[4:04] that momentum of that energy." And then

[4:07] immediately she looks at me and she

[4:09] goes, "Yeah, I do not trust that that

[4:13] can happen." And I saw her entire

[4:15] vibration change and her energy dropped.

[4:18] And I looked at her and I go, "Honey,

[4:20] you're lucky that your sister-in-law is

[4:22] Gabby Bernstein. [laughter]

[4:24] Let's get you to a place where you have

[4:26] faith and trust that you can create your

[4:28] reality. where you have faith and trust

[4:30] that you can live the dreams that you

[4:33] have and that you can really know that

[4:36] it doesn't have to happen tomorrow, but

[4:37] it can happen in the right time and

[4:39] order. She's like, "How do I do it?" And

[4:42] I said, "Once again, you're sitting with

[4:44] your sister Gabby Bernstein. I can help

[4:46] you. I've got five steps. Here are the

[4:48] five steps to unshakable faith." And I

[4:52] laid them out for her, and these are the

[4:53] steps I'm going to give you today. Let

[4:55] me tell you, as I gave these steps to

[4:57] Meredith, everything in her body

[4:59] changed. She felt so alive. She felt so

[5:01] empowered. And she felt so psyched to

[5:03] take this to the next level. And it only

[5:05] took a brunch for me to get there. So

[5:07] now I have more time with you than I had

[5:08] over brunch. And I'm going to give you

[5:10] the exact steps that it takes, the steps

[5:13] that I've applied in my own life, the

[5:14] five steps to unshakable faith. These

[5:17] steps are exciting because they're

[5:19] practices from a new book that I'm

[5:21] writing. And I'm revealing them here

[5:22] before the book is even out in the

[5:23] world. and you're going to get them now.

[5:26] These are steps to living with a sense

[5:28] of knowing and a sense of trust that

[5:30] your desires are real, that they are

[5:32] meant for you and they're coming, that

[5:33] there is a timeline that's better than

[5:35] your own, and that you can relax and let

[5:37] grace settle in. For 20 years, I have

[5:40] actually helped people all over the

[5:42] world. I've helped them with major

[5:44] crisis, addiction, depression, and even

[5:48] small things like wanting to change

[5:49] career paths or change relationships.

[5:52] And no matter how severe or how simple

[5:54] the issue was, I always had to start

[5:57] from the same place and ask them, are

[6:00] you willing to heal that part of you

[6:02] that doesn't trust the universe? And so

[6:05] before I reveal these steps to you, I

[6:08] want you to take that area of your life

[6:10] right now, that area where you feel so

[6:12] blocked and you feel so uncertain, and I

[6:14] want you to ask yourself,

[6:17] am I willing to heal?

[6:19] Am I willing to heal?

[6:23] And this is the practice. It's a really

[6:25] powerful practice. I want you to list

[6:27] out all the areas, all of the areas of

[6:31] your life, and just anything. The small

[6:34] stuff, the big stuff, the areas where

[6:36] you have uncertainty. The desire for a

[6:40] relationship that hasn't come yet. The

[6:43] desire for the job that you haven't

[6:45] manifested, the desire for the certain

[6:47] amount of money in your bank account,

[6:49] the desire for the debt to be gone, the

[6:51] desire for the world to feel safer. I

[6:53] want you to put to list a list together

[6:55] right now while you're watching. Just

[6:56] start jotting this down after the video.

[6:58] You can do this practice. And I want you

[7:00] to write that list. I need trust in my

[7:04] relationships. I want trust in my job. I

[7:07] want trust in my health. And next to

[7:10] each issue, I want you to write, I am

[7:13] willing to heal.

[7:15] I need trust in my relationships. I'm

[7:17] willing to heal. I want more faith in my

[7:19] job. Cor my career path. I'm willing to

[7:21] heal. I want to trust that I'm on the

[7:24] right track right now. I am willing to

[7:25] heal. Take those areas where you have

[7:28] disbelief and offer them up and decide

[7:31] right now that you are willing to heal.

[7:34] I got to tell you something. I did that

[7:35] this morning. I was driving over to the

[7:37] studio. I had had a fight with my

[7:39] husband in the morning. We were in the

[7:41] kitchen. We were back in the loop. You

[7:43] all know the relationship loop. We all

[7:45] have them. I'm back in that relationship

[7:47] loop with my husband. It was really

[7:49] getting me down. I wanted to go to a

[7:51] place of being pissed at him and angry

[7:52] with him and send him low vibes. And I

[7:54] knew that wasn't going to do anything

[7:56] because he was going to feel that low

[7:57] vibe energy all the way down the road.

[7:59] And so instead, I just said, "Okay,

[8:00] universe. I'm willing to heal. I'm

[8:03] willing to heal." Not more than 10

[8:06] minutes later did I walk into the studio

[8:07] and get a phone call from my husband. He

[8:09] said, "I need to talk to you. I want to

[8:11] apologize for the way I was speaking

[8:12] this morning. I want you to know that I

[8:14] love you. I hope you have an amazing day

[8:16] shooting." And in 30 seconds, he

[8:19] dissolved the entire drama from the

[8:21] morning and put us back into a place of

[8:23] healing. I promise you if I had not said

[8:26] those words, I am willing to heal,

[8:28] there's absolutely no chance in hell

[8:30] that he would made that call because he

[8:31] wouldn't have felt my vibration shift.

[8:35] Instead, he would have felt my anger, my

[8:37] resentment, my my rage towards him. And

[8:40] that wouldn't have created a frequency

[8:42] for healing. And so, my desire to say,

[8:44] "I'm willing to heal was magic. It

[8:46] created a miracle." He felt that energy

[8:48] shift and he sent me that love. That is

[8:50] how fast this works, guys. So I want you

[8:52] to first step to the path towards

[8:54] trusting is to say I'm willing to heal

[8:57] all the disbelief that I have. I'm

[8:59] willing to heal. I want you to make that

[9:01] your mantra. I'm willing to heal. And

[9:03] what's so powerful about this practice

[9:05] is that the more you say it and the more

[9:08] you have those moments of disbelief and

[9:10] you just take a beat and you witness the

[9:13] disbelief and you say, "I'm willing to

[9:15] heal." In that moment, you have a

[9:18] miracle. Because that moment of saying,

[9:21] "I am willing to heal starts to take all

[9:25] of the fear and it unravels it

[9:27] completely. It starts to take all of

[9:29] that story and ego and frustration and

[9:33] separation and it says, "I'm willing to

[9:36] heal it." And it opens an invisible door

[9:39] to let the universe reveal to you the

[9:41] next right action. This, my friends, is

[9:46] the mandatory step to begin this journey

[9:48] to trusting. So, let's do this practice.

[9:50] I want you to do it not just today when

[9:52] you make your list. I want you to do it

[9:54] all day, every day. Notice in the

[9:56] moment, I'm stuck in that loop. I'm

[9:58] frustrated about a situation. I can't

[10:00] control this thing. And just say, I am

[10:03] willing to heal. And this is really

[10:06] powerful because the universe has a plan

[10:08] that's a lot better than yours. And what

[10:11] if trusting that plan doesn't come from

[10:13] control, but actually comes from letting

[10:15] go? Right? We got to let it go. So the

[10:18] first step you have now is to say, "I'm

[10:20] willing to heal." But the next step is

[10:21] to give it away. You've got these issues

[10:24] in these areas of your life where you've

[10:25] been blocked. You've offered this

[10:28] opportunity to open your heart to heal

[10:29] them, but now it's about letting them go

[10:31] and not holding on so tightly. Because

[10:34] the secret to receiving guidance is to

[10:36] actually let that issue go. This is a

[10:39] practice that's really changed my life

[10:41] and it's a practice of giving it away

[10:43] just for the day. Just for 24 hours. I

[10:47] call this the 24-hour spiritual pivot.

[10:50] And I just give it away just for the

[10:52] day. I take that area that I've asked

[10:55] for healing and I say, "Thank you,

[10:57] universe, for taking this from me for 24

[11:00] hours. Just take it away. I'm giving

[11:03] this over for the day. Take it away from

[11:05] me." And I remember when I was telling

[11:07] Meredith, my sister-in-law this

[11:08] practice, she was like, "That feels so

[11:09] good. I can just let it go. I don't need

[11:11] to know my purpose today. I can give it

[11:13] away for 24 hours." And so, just take

[11:16] that area of your life where you're

[11:17] controlling it and just say, "Thank you,

[11:18] universe, and I want to give this away

[11:20] just for today." This is your second

[11:22] step. I give it away just for the day.

[11:24] So, when you notice yourself going into

[11:26] that fear, that story of control, just

[11:28] say your prayer. I give this away just

[11:30] for the day. I give this away for 24

[11:32] hours. Letting it go for 24 hours gives

[11:35] you space to let the universe reveal to

[11:37] you the next right action. It also just

[11:40] gives you some peace inside, a sense of

[11:43] safety inside, a sense of not feeling

[11:46] the urge to try to do something. Your

[11:49] miracle is on the other side of letting

[11:51] go. When you let it go, you send a

[11:55] message. You call upon the universe.

[11:58] It's a prayer. I'm giving this away to

[12:00] you, universe. 24 hours. show me what to

[12:03] do. And then how do you get out of the

[12:06] way and let the universe do the work?

[12:10] This brings me to the third step. You

[12:12] practice non-inference.

[12:15] You do nothing and let the universe show

[12:18] you what to do. So, this is a practice

[12:20] that's going to be a little hard and

[12:21] it's going to sound a little

[12:22] counterintuitive, but you're going to

[12:23] need to do it because you've now taken

[12:25] that thing and you said, "I'm willing to

[12:26] heal it." And you've offered it up for

[12:28] 24 hours to the universe and you said,

[12:30] "Take this from me." And then the next

[12:32] step is to actually let the universe

[12:35] show you what to do, which takes some

[12:36] time. And I want you to give yourself 3

[12:38] days to do it. You do nothing for 3

[12:41] days. You let the universe show you what

[12:43] to do. And let me give you an example of

[12:44] how this worked in a in a experience

[12:46] with a woman that I was coaching. It's a

[12:48] friend of mine. She called me for some

[12:50] coaching, sideline Gabby coaching. And

[12:52] she calls me and she'd been kind of

[12:54] complaining to me for probably about

[12:56] four or five months about this

[12:58] relationship that she was in with this

[12:59] guy. and she felt so much guilt ending

[13:02] this relationship because they'd been

[13:04] together for so long. They were super

[13:06] invested in each other. They had a lot

[13:09] of things wrapped up in the

[13:10] relationship. They shared a dog. There

[13:12] was like a lot in this. And it was hard

[13:14] for her to let it go. She knew she had

[13:16] to though for her future. She knew that

[13:18] if I don't let this go, it's going to

[13:19] hold me back. It's going to block me

[13:21] from the right relationship. But she

[13:25] felt so much guilt and she was

[13:26] struggling and she just didn't know how.

[13:28] and she knew he loved her and she knew

[13:30] he'd put so much time in and she just

[13:32] didn't know how to let it go. She kept

[13:33] coming to me complaining saying, "I just

[13:35] want this to end. I just wish he would

[13:37] just ditch me already." She's like, "I

[13:39] wish he would just break up with me."

[13:40] And she kept saying it. I wish he would

[13:42] just break up with me. I wish he would

[13:43] just walk away. I want this to end.

[13:45] Maybe there's a fight that we need to

[13:47] have. I don't know. But she wasn't ready

[13:48] to end it. She couldn't. She felt the

[13:50] struggle. It was really, really hard for

[13:52] her. So, I gave her the practice. I

[13:53] said, "Keep repeating. I'm willing to

[13:54] heal." Make that your mantra. Give it

[13:57] away for 24 hours with your prayer.

[13:59] Thank you, universe, for taking this

[14:00] from me. I'm not going to worry about

[14:01] it. And then wait three days. Do nothing

[14:04] and let the universe show you what to

[14:06] do. Do nothing. Do nothing. Do nothing.

[14:08] Do nothing. Non-inference. Get out of

[14:11] the way. Literally sit on your hands.

[14:13] Cover your mouth. Don't send an email.

[14:15] Don't send a text. Just do nothing. Let

[14:17] the universe show you what to do. She

[14:20] called me on day four, freaking out.

[14:22] Gabby, you are not going to believe what

[14:24] happened. You're going to be blown away.

[14:25] this is the wildest thing that's ever

[14:26] happened. And she said, "On day four of

[14:29] doing nothing, after practicing those

[14:31] three steps, he called me and he said, I

[14:34] don't know why, but I feel like I have

[14:38] to let this relationship go."

[14:42] It was the moment of grace that she had

[14:43] been manifesting.

[14:45] And why was he able to do it? Because

[14:48] she let the energy off the hook. because

[14:51] she sent the message and the signal out.

[14:53] I'm releasing this. I'm ready to let

[14:56] this go and she didn't have to do

[14:58] anything and the universe showed her

[15:00] what to do. She didn't have to do

[15:03] anything. And practicing these

[15:05] principles doesn't mean that you won't

[15:06] take action, but it means that those

[15:08] actions are going to come from a place

[15:10] of knowing what to do or the actual

[15:14] issue will be completely revealed and

[15:16] worked out for you just like it was for

[15:17] my friend. And what was so beautiful

[15:19] about this was that the miracle wasn't

[15:21] that everything worked out exactly as

[15:22] she planned. The miracle is that it

[15:24] worked out far better than she could

[15:26] have planned because now they've decided

[15:29] to co-share the dog. They're going to be

[15:31] friends. They're going to work on

[15:32] developing the connection that they do

[15:34] have that they absolutely want to have

[15:36] and cherish, but they've decided that

[15:38] we're not romantic partners anymore and

[15:39] we should move on. And he was able to do

[15:42] that for her because she energetically

[15:45] got out of the way. She started to trust

[15:47] the universe. She gave it away and she

[15:50] let the universe show her what to do.

[15:51] This is going to work.

[15:54] [music]

[15:55] Let's just take a quick moment to thank

[15:57] our sponsors of the show. These sponsors

[15:59] make it possible for us to continue to

[16:02] give you this content every single week

[16:04] and make it better and better and

[16:05] better. So, I want to thank our

[16:06] sponsors. This episode is sponsored by

[16:09] BetterHelp. There are plenty of reasons

[16:12] we put off getting support and for a lot

[16:14] of people cost is one of them. With

[16:17] Better Help, insurance options may now

[16:19] be available nationwide with an average

[16:21] copay of eligible members for just $23

[16:24] per session. And while we're

[16:26] reconsidering old assumptions, maybe

[16:28] there's a few others worth questioning,

[16:30] too. So many of us, especially women,

[16:32] have absorbed these unwritten rules

[16:34] about who we're supposed to be. We're

[16:36] supposed to be ambitious but not

[16:37] intimidating. be there for everyone, but

[16:39] still make time for ourselves. Hold

[16:42] everything together, but don't let

[16:44] anyone see how hard you're working. One

[16:46] of the rules I've had to unlearn is the

[16:48] belief that I should handle everything

[16:50] on my own. And if I'm overwhelmed, I

[16:53] should just push harder. That is a no no

[16:56] for me now. But what I've learned is

[16:58] that I couldn't get to that place. were

[17:00] really healing. The part of me that

[17:01] believed that would really be free of

[17:03] that belief system without the care of

[17:06] my therapist and my sessions every

[17:07] single week. I swear by therapy. I think

[17:11] it is the greatest gift that's ever

[17:12] happened to me. My therapist is one of

[17:14] the most beloved people in my life and I

[17:17] really, really encourage you to find

[17:19] your own licensed therapist today. If

[17:21] you've been waiting to start therapy,

[17:23] BetterHelp works with more than 125

[17:25] health plan networks and eligible

[17:27] members have an average co-pay of just

[17:29] $23 per session with insurance. Don't

[17:32] have insurance or don't live in the

[17:33] United States? You can still get 10% off

[17:45] I'm particular about what goes on my

[17:47] skin and I've been using One Skin's OS1

[17:49] face rich cream and for the first thing

[17:51] I noticed guys was texture. It feels

[17:54] rich and nourishing but it really melts

[17:56] into my skin instead of just sitting on

[17:59] top. My skin feels soft and deeply

[18:01] moisturized. The next morning it feels

[18:04] really hydrated and comfortable. It has

[18:06] become one of those simple steps in my

[18:08] routine that I genuinely look forward

[18:09] to. I also love that it doesn't feel

[18:12] heavy and my makeup sits really nicely

[18:14] over it. The key though is that feeling

[18:17] that it's getting into your skin and not

[18:19] sitting on top of it. And as we age, our

[18:22] skin naturally loses collagen, elastin,

[18:24] and hyaluronic acid, which affects how

[18:26] well moisture holds in our skin. And one

[18:29] skin calls this skin's density shift.

[18:31] OS1 faciidge cream is powered by a

[18:34] dualphase hydration system, and it gives

[18:36] you immediate hydration. And while the

[18:38] OS1 peptide works at the cellular level

[18:41] to support collagen, elastin, and

[18:42] barrier strength, and in the lab

[18:44] studies, OS1 rich cream was shown to

[18:46] increase skin's own collagen and promote

[18:49] the production of elastin. I also love

[18:51] that OneSkin's team of female PhD

[18:53] longevity scientists spent years

[18:56] developing this formula. Born from over

[18:58] 10 years of skin longevity research, One

[19:01] Skin is helping you unlock your

[19:02] healthiest skin now as you age. For a

[19:05] limited time, try their new OS1 facer

[19:08] cream with 15% off using code deargaby

[19:11] at onesskin.co/deargaby.

[19:13] That's 15% off at onskin.co with code

[19:17] deargaby. After you purchase, they'll

[19:19] ask you where you heard about them.

[19:20] Please support our show and tell them

[19:22] that we sent you. I've been paying a lot

[19:24] more attention lately to the little

[19:25] things I can do every single day to

[19:28] support my health. And that includes

[19:29] taking better care of my teeth. We think

[19:32] so much about what we eat, what we

[19:34] drink, what we put on our face, what we

[19:35] put on our body, but we never think

[19:38] about what coffee or tea or acidic foods

[19:41] can really take a toll on our enamel

[19:43] over time. And that's why I've been

[19:46] loving Loreno. It's a better for you

[19:49] chewing gum that actually supports your

[19:51] enamel while you chew. Loreno uses the

[19:54] same mineral your enamel is made of to

[19:56] help strengthen your enamel and repair

[19:58] damage. They sent me the gum to try and

[20:01] I genuinely am just the biggest fan

[20:03] because I love gum and I also want to do

[20:04] something good for my teeth. The flavors

[20:06] are so good. The taste lasts. My mouth

[20:09] feels really fresh afterward. I love

[20:11] chewing it after meals or coffee,

[20:12] especially when I'm running around and

[20:14] traveling. They have flavors like mint,

[20:16] cinnamon, bubble gum, and berry. So,

[20:18] there's something for everyone. They

[20:20] also make a really great fluoride-free

[20:21] toothpaste. What I love most is how easy

[20:23] it is. It's just a simple habit I can

[20:25] actually stick with and it feels good to

[20:27] know that my teeth are staying strong

[20:29] and healthy every time I chew. Right

[20:31] now, Loren Co. is offering our listeners

[20:33] up to 50% off at byaren.com/gaby.

[20:38] That's buy l a r ne.com/gabby

[20:43] for up to 50% off. [music]

[20:48] Step four is now to listen to the

[20:50] guidance that you receive. the guidance

[20:52] is going to come to you maybe as quickly

[20:55] as it did for my friend like day four

[20:56] here there's your answer it's all

[20:58] revealed and maybe it won't come right

[21:00] away and that's where we need to get

[21:01] into a meditative practice you know that

[21:04] meditation is the cornerstone of a

[21:07] spiritual practice and it's a place

[21:08] where we ground ourselves in a sense of

[21:10] certainty and a sense of knowing that we

[21:13] don't have to figure it out the universe

[21:14] can take care of the rest so let's

[21:16] practice a meditation now for trusting

[21:18] the universe I want to guide you through

[21:20] this and Let's just do this practice

[21:22] together. Just gently close your eyes.

[21:37] And I want [music] you to take that big

[21:39] area of your life that you have been

[21:42] holding on to so [music] tightly where

[21:44] you have the least amount of trust and

[21:46] faith

[21:48] and I want you to just simply say to

[21:49] yourself [music] silently,

[21:52] I'm willing to heal.

[22:03] And take a deep [music] breath in and

[22:04] feel the feeling of that relief of

[22:06] saying those words.

[22:08] And on the exhale, let that go.

[22:12] And repeat it again [music] silently.

[22:15] I am willing to heal.

[22:23] And on the exhale, [music] let it go.

[22:26] Let the universe just take it from you.

[22:29] Your willingness [music] to heal opens

[22:31] the door for this beautiful unfolding to

[22:34] occur naturally.

[22:48] Now, in your mind's eye, I want you to

[22:50] visualize for yourself what it will feel

[22:53] like when this [music] issue is resolved

[22:56] or when the desire is here or when the

[22:59] vision is manifested. [music]

[23:02] What does it feel like in your body?

[23:18] The universe took care of everything.

[23:22] Everything is working out in [music] a

[23:23] far better way than you could ever

[23:24] imagine. Where are you sitting when this

[23:27] is happening?

[23:42] [music]

[23:43] What's unfolding around you?

[23:54] What do you feel inside?

[24:04] Do you feel [music] relief?

[24:14] Do you [music] feel ease?

[24:24] Do you feel grace?

[24:36] Peace.

[24:48] breathe into the feeling. Now,

[25:01] what does that feel like?

[25:14] Just let the inner voice of wisdom speak

[25:16] to you for a moment as you breathe in

[25:17] [music] deeply

[25:19] and exhale completely.

[25:28] [music]

[25:32] Just silently say, "Thank you, universe,

[25:34] for telling me where to go and what to

[25:35] do.

[25:48] Just listen. [music]

[25:52] Just let yourself be open to any [music]

[25:54] words or guidance or wisdom.

[25:58] Any

[26:06] messages?

[26:22] What do you need to know?

[26:34] And what do you [music] need right now?

[26:50] Let that [music] message be revealed to

[26:52] you in this moment.

[27:06] feel that grace set in.

[27:18] Just listen. [music]

[27:34] and take one last deep breath in and

[27:35] [music] just say, "Thank you, universe,

[27:36] for speaking to me,

[27:47] showing me [music] signs

[27:54] giving me intuitive knowing.

[28:06] revealing to me the [music] next right

[28:08] action.

[28:21] Organizing things on my behalf.

[28:35] Just make [music] the statement. And I'm

[28:36] giving it all away.

[28:48] And I welcome the miracles to be

[28:49] revealed.

[29:03] Just take a deep breath in.

[29:06] And let that go.

[29:29] When you're [music] ready, open your

[29:30] eyes.

[29:36] How's that feel?

[29:39] I want you to share with me what you

[29:40] heard in that meditation. Post in the

[29:42] comments. Let me know what you heard.

[29:45] Tell me what came through for you.

[29:48] What was the story that you heard?

[29:51] [music]

[29:54] Let's just take a quick moment to thank

[29:55] our sponsors of the show. These sponsors

[29:58] make it possible for us to continue to

[30:00] give you this content every single week

[30:02] and make it better and better and

[30:03] better. So, I want to thank our

[30:05] sponsors. October always feels like a

[30:08] moment when everything starts to speed

[30:10] up again and it just gets so busy and

[30:12] the calendar fills up and there's so

[30:14] much to do and I start to feel like I

[30:17] have so many things I need to get done.

[30:19] But one of the things that I don't ever

[30:20] have to worry about is my daily

[30:22] supplements and my health because of

[30:25] AG1. AG1 earns this spot in my daily

[30:29] routine and it's the perfect way to just

[30:33] keep me healthy during cold season and

[30:35] keep me going when I am busy. And when

[30:38] the schedule gets really full, nutrition

[30:39] is usually the first thing to slip. So,

[30:41] AG1 NextGen is the one habit that covers

[30:44] your nutritional basis without adding

[30:46] anything complicated to your routine.

[31:08] health, and immune health, which is

[31:10] exactly the kind of foundational support

[31:15] the biggest thing is the consistency and

[31:18] even during a really busy stretch. I

[31:39] I've said this before, but I really

[31:42] don't love feeling like I'm wearing a

[31:44] ton of makeup. In fact, I want it to

[31:46] feel like no makeup makeup. Really, I

[31:48] want it to be easy, effortless, simple,

[31:50] and dewy because I've got wrinkles these

[31:52] days, and I don't want them to get all

[31:54] cakey. That is why I'm obsessed,

[31:57] obsessed, obsessed, obsessed with Jones

[31:58] Road Beauty, especially their Miracle

[32:00] Balm. And I got to say, their mascara is

[32:03] the best. It is the best. It is the

[32:04] best. And I wear a lot of makeup. I've

[32:06] tried it all, but I'm going to tell you,

[32:07] the Miracle Balm gives me that

[32:09] effortless look without covering

[32:11] everything up. But I love that one

[32:13] product can just do so much. And you can

[32:16] use the highlighter, bronzer, blush, or

[32:18] even a lip tint. So, it's really

[32:19] simplifying your routine. Especially

[32:21] when I'm traveling, the last thing I

[32:23] want is an enormous amount of makeup.

[32:24] Particularly when I'm on a plane, I want

[32:25] to look good in the airport, but I don't

[32:26] want to be caked on. And Jones Road just

[32:29] launched their Minimalist Defining

[32:31] Mascara. I mentioned this, but I'm going

[32:33] to tell you it's the best. It fits

[32:36] perfectly into your routine. It's

[32:38] designed to enhance your natural lashes

[32:40] with length, fullness, and definition

[32:42] without clumping, smudging, or flaking.

[32:44] And the flexible silicone wand just

[32:46] separates the lashes for the soft,

[32:47] feathery look. I also love Jones Road

[32:50] formula, and they're very clean, high

[32:52] performing, and made with skinloving

[32:54] ingredients. Modern-day makeup that's

[32:56] clean, strategic, and multiunctional for

[32:59] effortless routines. For a limited time,

[33:01] our listeners are getting a free

[33:03] full-size mascara on their first

[33:05] purchase when they use code Gabby at

[33:06] checkout. Just head to

[33:10] and use code Gabby at checkout. After

[33:12] you purchase, they will ask you where

[33:13] you heard about them. Please support our

[33:15] show and tell them that our show sent

[33:16] you.

[33:18] If you love this show and you've been

[33:20] following our episodes with all of the

[33:21] mediums, I am psyched to share with you.

[33:23] We are taking the show on the road,

[33:26] people. We're doing Dear Guides Live in

[33:28] New York City on November 21st. I will

[33:30] be joined by psychic mediums Rebecca

[33:32] Rosen, Maryanne DeMarco, John Holland,

[33:35] and our beloved angel medium, Radley

[33:37] Valentine. And we are going to teach you

[33:39] how to awaken your psychic abilities and

[33:42] feel that connection live in the room,

[33:44] connecting to your angels, your guides,

[33:46] and a really beautiful community. So,

[33:49] this is a very small event, very limited

[33:51] seating. If you want to join us, go to

[33:53] deargaby.comguides

[33:56] live. See you there. [music]

[34:01] What's so beautiful here is that there's

[34:03] a promise of living with faith in the

[34:04] universe. And that promise is that one

[34:06] day you wake up and you know, I'm going

[34:10] to be okay.

[34:13] Everything's going to be okay.

[34:15] I've had a friend for 15 years. He's

[34:19] been a pen pal of mine, actually. I met

[34:21] him because he was an audience member at

[34:24] a talk that I gave in Melbourne,

[34:26] Australia. I was in my early 30s, a

[34:28] young woman standing there in this live

[34:31] talk in Melbourne, hundreds of people in

[34:32] the room. And in the corner, I could see

[34:37] a man, a young man in a wheelchair. And

[34:41] it was very clear to me that he was

[34:43] unable to physically move and his head

[34:45] kept going back. Really, really

[34:47] struggling physically. And when I speak,

[34:49] I channel and my hand went up towards

[34:51] him. And the entire time, the entire

[34:53] talk, my hand was sending energy to this

[34:55] man. I just felt connected to him. And I

[34:58] felt his vibration. And I felt like the

[35:00] angels were working through me to just

[35:01] send him the energy. Send him the

[35:03] energy. Sent him the energy. And as I

[35:05] meditated, I just kept extending that

[35:07] energy to him and just sending him love.

[35:09] And after the talk, I was being sort of

[35:10] hustled into the room where I was going

[35:12] to give my book signing. And I was

[35:14] walking past the line to go to sit down

[35:16] to sign the books. And I walked past the

[35:19] young man in the wheelchair and his his

[35:21] nurse was with him and she said, "Hey,

[35:23] this is Mark and and he can't speak, but

[35:26] he wants you to know that he's been

[35:28] following you for a long time and you've

[35:29] been really meaningful to him and you've

[35:31] helped him so much on his spiritual

[35:33] path." And she shared a little bit about

[35:35] what had happened to him and when he

[35:37] experienced this disability and how much

[35:39] it has affected him and that he can

[35:41] write with his eyes and so he can

[35:43] communicate but he can't speak. And I

[35:46] looked at him and I said, "Let's take a

[35:47] picture." So he took a photo. I said,

[35:49] "You know what? Email me that picture. I

[35:51] want to stay in touch with you, Mark."

[35:53] This was 15 years ago. Mark has been my

[35:55] pen pal ever since. I've had the

[35:58] privilege of visiting him when I go to

[35:59] Melbourne. I've had the privilege of

[36:02] doing angelic healing for him, receiving

[36:07] his books. He's written several books in

[36:08] the last 15 years with his eyes.

[36:10] Literally writes with his eyes. He has

[36:14] blogged. He has been a champion for

[36:16] people with disabilities and this is a

[36:18] guy who cannot survive without the help

[36:21] of other humans. He survived isolation

[36:23] during COVID and having one attendant

[36:26] visit him one time a day. He is a

[36:31] miracle, my friend. But through the

[36:34] years, he's also sent me many messages

[36:36] of despair, many emails where he's just

[36:38] shared about his suffering and how

[36:40] horrible it is to have to live in this

[36:43] deprived way and to have no way of

[36:46] actually eating his own food or speaking

[36:47] his own words and feeling so reliant on

[36:50] other people and feeling the

[36:51] difficulties of all of the world's

[36:53] crisis amongst his inner crisis and his

[36:55] life crisis and the loss of his mother

[36:58] and all the trauma that this poor man

[37:00] has had to live. He's in his middle age

[37:01] now and he's living these spiritual

[37:04] practices one day at a time. And I got

[37:08] this message from Mark yesterday and he

[37:10] reached out and he said, "Hey Gabby,

[37:12] it's my 24 year anniversary of my

[37:14] disability.

[37:16] And I want you to know that I've stopped

[37:19] fighting." These are his exact words.

[37:22] I've stopped fighting. I'm no longer

[37:25] trying to be or wish that I was someone

[37:28] else. And I'm finally being

[37:31] at this whole new level. I'm being in a

[37:34] way that I haven't experienced for the

[37:36] past 24 years. The wash of peace, the

[37:40] slightest scent of success. It's very

[37:43] cool. You know, finally, I know that I'm

[37:47] good and I know that I'm going to be

[37:49] okay.

[37:51] Big love to you, Gurn. That's how he

[37:53] signed it off.

[37:57] And I just want to acknowledge Mark

[38:00] because

[38:02] he's a hero to me. He really is a hero

[38:05] to me. He's lived in a compromised way

[38:08] and he's developed a faith and trust in

[38:10] the universe. He knows he's going to be

[38:12] okay.

[38:14] And that's what I want for you. And on

[38:17] behalf of Mark, someone who has far less

[38:20] privilege than we do in this room, I

[38:22] want you all to know that you can live

[38:23] in a way where you know you're going to

[38:25] be okay.

[38:26] that no matter what's happening in the

[38:28] world, no matter what's happening around

[38:29] you, there is a sense of safety that you

[38:31] can access, there's a spiritual faith

[38:34] that you can be guided by. And there's a

[38:36] sense of knowing that you are indeed

[38:40] supported.

[38:42] And I want that for you. And I promise

[38:44] you, if you follow these steps and you

[38:47] develop this trust, you'll live with the

[38:49] same grace that Mark is living with

[38:51] today.

[38:53] So, I love you. I hope this journey

[38:56] supports you.

[38:58] And I want you to know that I am rooting

[39:00] for you every step of the way.

[39:03] Thank you for being part of this

[39:04] community. And stick around for the

[39:07] miracles. If you like this video and you

[39:09] want to get more Gabby, check out the

[39:11] next one right over here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Bernstein teaches that doubt is a wound that needs healing, not a sign your desires aren't real. Start by writing down all areas where you don't trust, then practice the five steps—especially willingness to heal and genuinely releasing control. The gap between intention and trust can close only through these practices, not through thinking harder about your goal.
Giving it away means articulating your desire clearly, then consciously releasing it to something larger than yourself—whether you call that God, the universe, or your guides. It's not about forgetting the desire; it's about stopping the exhausting work of trying to orchestrate every detail. When you release it, you create space for grace to work.
Non-interference means resisting the urge to follow up, manage, or control after you've released your desire. This includes not sending that extra text, not trying to engineer a conversation, or force the outcome. The energy of the desire has already been sent; continuing to push actually scrambles the signal and keeps you locked in fear-based control.
Faith isn't about believing your specific outcome will happen on your timeline. It's about knowing you'll be okay no matter what unfolds. Bernstein emphasizes that the deeper desire underneath most wishes is for peace and safety—not for specific circumstances. When you shift focus to trusting your resilience and adaptability, faith naturally develops.
Not being ready is exactly where the first step—willingness to heal—comes in. You don't have to be ready to let go completely. You just have to be willing to explore the part of you that's gripping. Write it down, acknowledge the wound, and say 'I am willing to heal.' That willingness opens the door, even if you're not there yet.
Bernstein has used these principles for 20 years with people facing addiction, depression, major loss, and severe life crises—not just career changes or relationship goals. The foundation is the same: willingness to heal the part of you that doesn't trust. Grace can work through crisis as easily as it works through minor adjustments.
No. The steps ask you to be willing, release control, stop micromanaging, listen for guidance, and trust the unfolding. 'Listening for guidance' is active—you're paying attention to signs, synchronicities, and intuitive nudges. You're responsive, not passive. You're just not forcing.
Bernstein describes shifts happening even during a single brunch conversation when the five steps are applied. A meditation can also create a palpable shift in your nervous system. That said, deep trust is often a practice you return to, not a permanent state you achieve once. Each time you practice, you deepen the felt sense that you can actually let go.
