Absolute Intelligence: Meditation Beyond the AI Age

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

The room is full of people who have been singing and dancing for the better part of an hour, and the man at the front wants them to stop moving long enough to ask a question. "Are you here?" Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar asks, and then asks again, and again, sweeping his gaze toward the back rows and getting a thin, scattered answer in return. It is a small, funny, deliberately uncomfortable opening, and it is the whole argument in miniature. In his talk at the Love Tomorrow Summit in Belgium, published on YouTube under the title "A Meditation Masterclass At Tomorrowland!", Gurudev contends that the destination everyone is chasing, the glowing "tomorrowland" of novelty and excitement, is available in the breath you are already taking. What the age of artificial intelligence demands, he says, is not more cleverness but what he calls "absolute intelligence": the unchanging core of consciousness that is ancient and fresh at once. From there he walks through the mind, the intellect and memory, the drain on human attention, the way energy passes between people, and a definition of meditation as a journey from sound to silence. Then he leads more than twenty minutes of practice, and the session closes with an open Q&A on creativity, injustice, worry and astrology.

What is "absolute intelligence," and why does it matter now?

Gurudev begins with a question the audience already carries: how can life be a celebration when the world looks so chaotic? His answer starts with a distinction. Artificial intelligence, he says, is not going anywhere, and there is "no going back" from it. The question is what sits beneath intelligence of any kind. He calls that layer absolute intelligence, and he describes it through an image anyone who has stood beside a river will recognize.

"Absolute intelligence is that aspect of ourself which is ancient yet very new. It's ancient. It's older than sun, moon, stars, the stones. Yet it is very fresh and new."

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, in his Love Tomorrow Summit talk (2:38)

The river, he suggests, is ancient, its course unchanged across geological time, yet the water passing any given point is new every moment. Consciousness works the same way. The container persists while the content keeps arriving fresh. This is a useful frame for a crowd that has come to a festival-adjacent summit hungry for novelty, because it reframes novelty itself. The thing you are excited by is the water. The thing that notices the water is the river.

The point is practical as well as poetic. Tools that generate information and imitate reasoning can accelerate what the mind does. They cannot supply the quality of awareness that recognizes what is true, what is beautiful, what is wise. Gurudev's claim is that this recognizing faculty is the one we most need to cultivate, and that it is not something we build from outside. It is something we uncover within.

How do the mind, the intellect and memory get in the way?

Gurudev's map of the inner apparatus is simple enough to hold in one hand. There is the mind, which perceives through the five senses. There is the intellect, which he describes as the part that "judges, accepts, rejects." He asks the audience to notice their own inner chatter as proof, pointing out that while he speaks, a running commentary of yes, yes, no, no is probably going on in listeners' heads. And there is memory, which he identifies as the place where consciousness most often gets stuck.

"Our consciousness gets stuck in the memory. If it gets too much then we call it trauma. Trauma is nothing but a memory which is so stuck."

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, in his Love Tomorrow Summit talk (4:03)

That is a bold way to define trauma, and it is his definition, offered as teaching rather than clinical claim. What it does is locate the problem in the movement of consciousness rather than in the event alone: a moment that should have passed through becomes a fixed point the whole system keeps returning to. He then names the remedy in the same breath. Beneath the mind, intellect and memory there is "something in us that is not changing," the thing through which we recognize that everything else is changing. It is, in his phrasing, the aspect that gives you the "wow moment" in life.

Attention is the other casualty. Gurudev says the mind keeps oscillating between past and future, and that retention has weakened. He cites what he calls "today's psychologists," who suggest that after ten minutes of someone speaking, listeners need three breaks and a cappuccino. His own summary is blunt: people are not fully present, and the span has shrunk to around thirty seconds. Whatever the precise figure, the diagnosis lands in a room that has just spent an hour being asked whether it is there at all.

Why do we crave both the new and the old?

One of the most quotable turns in the talk is about the split between head and heart. The head, he says, always wants something new. The heart longs for something old. He offers a test anyone can run on their own life. You feel pride in the latest gadget, and you feel pride in an old friend. The more interesting question is which one you actually feel tenderness toward. Nostalgia, he notes, is something everyone loves, the return to a place that feels like home.

He applies this to the festival crowd directly: year after year, people come to Tomorrowland expecting something new and yet wanting to immerse in something they already know is wonderful. That tension, the simultaneous hunger for novelty and for return, is the human condition he is describing. Music, he says, takes us beyond thinking and lifts our energy. Meditation goes further. It is a way of tapping into the source of energy and then becoming a source yourself.

How does energy pass between people?

This is the section where Gurudev is most concrete, and where a listener might be tempted to dismiss him as mystical. He doesn't. He reaches for a device everyone carries. A cell phone sends messages and receives them at the same time. Human beings, with their many trillions of cells, are doing something analogous: giving energy and acquiring it, constantly and at once.

"We are transmitting energy and we are receiving energy. We are both at the same time. Like your cell phone, your cell phone is sending messages and it is receiving messages too."

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, in his Love Tomorrow Summit talk (9:44)

He then asks the audience to recall moments that confirm this. Some days everything you touch works out, and other days everything collapses for no obvious reason. He traces the swing to energy levels. Sitting beside someone who is angry or tense, you begin to feel that tension in your own body. Some people you warm to instantly, and others you want to avoid without knowing why. He asks for a show of hands on each experience, and the room answers.

The remedy he offers is selectivity. A phone lets you block unwanted numbers and mark favorites so their calls come through. Gurudev suggests we can cultivate an equivalent mechanism that blocks unfavorable, draining energy and lets the nourishing kind in. He calls that practice meditation. It is a notably modest definition for something usually spoken of in grander terms, and it is more useful for it. You are not asked to escape the world. You are asked to be discerning about what you let land on you.

What does "from sound to silence" mean in practice?

Gurudev's central definition is that meditation is a journey from sound to silence, and that every sound has the purpose of creating serenity within. He anchors this in a concert experience most people in the room will know. Walk out of a show agitated, restless or flat, and the music has failed at its job. A good concert should create joy and passion and invigorate body, mind and spirit. When it does, the music has done its work. Meditation extends the same logic. The sound is the vehicle, and the silence it opens is the destination.

He frames the aim as a kind of inner strength. Meditation, he says, is something that can make life more and more of a wow moment and bring strength from inside, so that you can manage your mind, manage your life, and bring positive energy to the people around you. He also says plainly that meditation is "deep relaxation, not concentration," which distinguishes his approach from the forced focus many newcomers expect. Relaxation comes first; clarity follows.

He describes the states of consciousness as waking, dreaming and deep sleep, and suggests that the quality of attention we bring to each is what shapes our experience. He also offers a striking number: in a short session of meditation, he says, a person gains energy equivalent to six to eight hours of sleep. That is a claim made from the stage, not a result he backs with a study in the talk, and it should be read that way.

What does the guided practice actually ask you to do?

The meditation portion runs more than twenty minutes and is built in layers. It opens with a breath-hand-eye synchronization exercise, in which Gurudev asks the room to coordinate breath, hand movement and the gaze, in the manner of a musician counting into a bar. The audience is then guided through a full body scan, mindful breathing, and chanting of Om. He keeps returning to the breath as the thread that holds life together, and to the mind as something to let cool down rather than wrestle.

Two images recur. The first is the body as the wick of a candle, a small physical anchor through which a larger flame burns. The second is the instruction to embrace thoughts as they arise, to let them come and go, rather than fight them. For the newcomer, this is the most useful instruction in the session. Thoughts are not an obstacle to meditation. They are the weather the practice learns to stand in.

If you want to continue the practice at home, the video's description points to guided meditations on the Sattva app and the Gurudev app, and to his book "Journey Within," which is mentioned in the talk's listing. Those are the places he directs listeners to, and they are the most reliable next step.

How does the Q&A widen the frame?

The session closes with questions that range from creativity in an AI era to balancing future goals with present life, bridging gender and generational divides, responding to injustice, finding silence in an overstimulated world, the meaning of life, a playful technique for overcoming worry, and astrology. Gurudev's replies return again and again to one move: widen the frame. Life, he says, should be seen in a bigger context of time and space. Nobody lives forever. A span of eighty or a hundred years is short, and the useful question is how we want to live within it.

"So loving tomorrow is loving yourself because you are the one who was there yesterday, who are here today and you will continue to be there tomorrow also."

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, in his Love Tomorrow Summit talk (12:23 onward)

On the question of meaning, he links the search to the core he described at the start. When we tap into the central core of our being, he says, we radiate love, and that is what he calls enlightenment and wisdom. The answers are sometimes brief and the transcript is at moments hard to follow, so it is best to listen to the full exchange rather than rely on a summary of it. But the throughline holds from the first minute to the last: the thing we are searching for is not behind us or ahead of us in the calendar. It is the attention we bring now.

Where to go from here

If this talk leaves you with one practice, make it the simplest one Gurudev offers: notice whether you are here. Ask the question he asked the room, and notice where your mind has gone. Then return to the breath, the body and the sound, and let the sound lead you toward the silence it was always pointing to. The talk is worth watching in full for its guided section, its pacing and its audience, which responds to every prompt. For more of his teaching, the book "Journey Within" and the two guided-meditation apps named in the description are the natural next steps.

The tomorrow he was talking about, as the talk's own title suggests, is not a festival you travel to. It is a place you can enter with the next breath.

Note: Quotations are drawn from the video's auto-generated transcript; timestamps refer to the moment each passage appears in the recording.

  • Absolute intelligence is the unchanging, ancient-and-new core of consciousness Gurudev says we most need in the age of AI.
  • Memory, in his account, is where consciousness gets stuck, and trauma is a memory held too tightly.
  • Meditation is a journey from sound to silence and a way to filter the energy we receive from others.

[0:05] The attention

[0:07] span has reduced to 30 seconds. Why we

[0:10] are taking mushroom and other things?

[0:13] Because we want to go to another

[0:15] dimension.

[0:17] [music] We want to go into that tomorrow

[0:19] land now.

[0:22] But that is available right in your own

[0:26] breath. And you [music] will see the

[0:28] whole world is filled with energy,

[0:31] beauty, love, truth and wisdom.

[0:35] Meditation is a deep relaxation. In

[0:38] short period of meditation, we gain so

[0:42] much energy that is equivalent to 6 to 8

[0:44] hours of sleep.

[0:49] One hell of an introduction. I'm not

[0:51] going to keep you waiting any longer.

[0:53] Can I please have a massive round of

[0:55] applause for Gurudev? [cheering]

[0:57] [applause]

[1:05] [applause]

[1:12] Wow.

[1:14] The tomorrow is here now.

[1:18] Yeah. How are you all today?

[1:21] [cheering]

[1:24] You have been singing and dancing.

[1:30] >> Yeah, you know life is a celebration.

[1:34] Life has to be a celebration,

[1:37] right? How can life be celebration when

[1:40] we see so much chaos all around us?

[1:42] There's a question that's normally comes

[1:45] up to anybody's mind.

[1:48] That is where we need something that is

[1:53] seeing how

[1:55] we can see beyond our intellect.

[1:59] Beyond our intelligence in this age of

[2:03] artificial intelligence

[2:06] of course there is no going back from

[2:07] artificial intelligence. What is needed

[2:11] is absolute intelligence.

[2:15] You see what I'm saying? Absolute

[2:18] intelligence is that aspect of ourself

[2:22] which is ancient yet very new.

[2:27] It's ancient. It's older than sun, moon,

[2:31] stars, the stones. Yet it is very fresh

[2:35] and new. You would ask me how can

[2:38] something be old and new at the same

[2:40] time?

[2:42] Like the river water. River is very

[2:45] ancient.

[2:46] River Rine is there from billions of

[2:48] years. But yet the water every day is

[2:51] new, isn't it? Isn't it?

[2:55] >> So same with our consciousness.

[2:59] Are you all here?

[3:02] >> Everybody

[3:04] you know as I'm speaking you are also

[3:07] talking. Are you noticing it? Your mind

[3:10] is saying yes yes yes no no no or what

[3:14] is it? So this aspect of our mind which

[3:18] judges which accepts which rejects is

[3:22] intellect.

[3:33] >> Are you here?

[3:39] So that aspect of mind

[3:42] which perceives things through five

[3:45] senses

[3:48] we can call it the mind. So the four

[3:51] aspects of our consciousness, four

[3:53] functions of our consciousness, the

[3:55] mind, the intellect and then the memory.

[4:00] That is where we are so stuck. Our

[4:03] consciousness gets stuck in the memory.

[4:06] If it gets too much then we call it

[4:09] trauma. Trauma is nothing but a memory

[4:11] which is so stuck.

[4:15] And then

[4:17] there is something more than that. There

[4:20] is something in us that is not changing

[4:27] or through which we recognize everything

[4:29] is changing.

[4:32] That aspect of our consciousness

[4:35] which is

[4:42] which gives you the wow moment in life.

[4:49] Are you are you all here?

[4:53] >> Are you here

[4:55] now?

[4:56] >> I'm not getting a big yes from there.

[5:00] from the back.

[5:02] >> Are you all here?

[5:05] >> You know our mind keeps vacasillating

[5:08] from past to future, future to past and

[5:12] then

[5:15] the retention power has become so less.

[5:20] Today's psychologist say if someone

[5:23] speaks for 10 minutes,

[5:26] you take a break three times, go for a

[5:28] capuccino.

[5:30] You're not here 100%. This is our

[5:33] attention deficiency. This is our

[5:35] attention span has reduced to 30

[5:38] seconds. That's why I will keep asking

[5:41] you, are you here? Are you here?

[5:45] >> Are you here?

[5:47] >> Yeah. So

[5:49] that aspect of our consciousness

[5:53] which we all crave to be in

[5:57] that which brings upliftment to our life

[6:01] that when you sing and when you dance

[6:04] that manifest as energy that is

[6:07] conscious that is absolute intelligence.

[6:11] No, we human beings are a combination of

[6:15] both body and mind and many things heart

[6:18] and head.

[6:20] While our head wants something new all

[6:24] the time, our heart longs for something

[6:27] old. Right? You take pride in a latest

[6:32] gadget

[6:34] and pride in an old friend, not the

[6:36] other way around. Right?

[6:40] Yes.

[6:45] >> I'm not getting any answer from this

[6:47] side.

[6:48] >> The back back.

[6:51] Yeah. We take pride in an old friend and

[6:55] a new gadget. Our head always wants

[6:58] something new. Our heart always longs

[7:00] for something old. You know, nostalgia

[7:04] is something that we all uh love to

[7:07] have, right? When you go to a place, oh,

[7:09] I've been here, I want to go back again

[7:11] there. Year after year, you all come to

[7:15] tomorrow land expecting something new

[7:19] and yet wanting to immerse in something

[7:23] so wonderful. Right? Music does music

[7:27] takes us beyond our thinking mind

[7:31] to our energy level.

[7:35] It uplifts our energy.

[7:38] But there is something beyond that. That

[7:41] is meditation.

[7:43] Where you tap into the source of energy

[7:47] and then become the source of energy.

[7:51] You are able to emit such positive

[7:54] energy vibration

[7:56] that can impact

[7:58] everyone around us and to us also. Have

[8:02] you all experienced this? Uh some days

[8:07] everything you want you wish all

[8:10] happens. Some other days anything you

[8:12] put your hand on all flops. How many of

[8:15] you have this experience? Raise your

[8:17] hand. Now you're rising. Yeah. Now I'm

[8:19] getting everyone's to participate. Yeah.

[8:22] Why? Why is it like this?

[8:26] It is all because of the energy levels.

[8:30] You know

[8:32] some days we are so happy some other

[8:35] days we we see where the happiness gone

[8:38] it's all gone somewhere it's not there

[8:40] you try to look for it here there

[8:43] everywhere

[8:44] doesn't seem to come to you yes it is

[8:47] again here the manifestation of energy

[8:51] the transformation of your energy the

[8:53] same energy

[8:57] that radiates from you can be either

[9:00] very positive or be negative.

[9:04] Have you all noticed this? Uh when you

[9:06] sit with someone who is very angry,

[9:08] uptight, uptight, tense, you also start

[9:11] feeling something in your body. How many

[9:14] of you have felt this?

[9:17] Oh wow. See,

[9:24] so some people you meet you feel like

[9:26] talking to them and some others for no

[9:29] reason you want to avoid them. Hasn't

[9:32] this been happening to us? This is all

[9:35] because we are all emitting energy. We

[9:39] are transmitting energy and we are

[9:41] receiving energy. We are both at the

[9:44] same time. Like your cell phone, your

[9:46] cell phone is sending messages and it is

[9:49] receiving messages too. So similarly

[9:52] each one of us with so many cells in our

[9:55] body, we are giving energy and we are

[9:59] acquiring energy. Now the intelligence

[10:02] is absolute intelligence is see be

[10:06] selective in it. You know in the phone

[10:09] you block some numbers

[10:12] so that those numbers doesn't come into

[10:14] you and some other numbers you put as

[10:17] favorite. So you put a new tune and then

[10:20] it keeps coming to you. Right? In the

[10:23] same way we can have

[10:26] a mechanism in us in which we are able

[10:30] to block all that unfavorable

[10:34] unwanted

[10:36] energy which can put us down.

[10:41] So that is what I would call as

[10:45] meditation. Meditation is a journey from

[10:49] sound to silence.

[11:00] And the purpose of every sound is to

[11:02] create that serenity silence within you.

[11:07] Just imagine you are gone to a music

[11:09] concert. Afterwards you feel very

[11:11] agitated and not happy. The music

[11:14] concert has not served the purpose. It

[11:18] should have created joy,

[11:20] passion,

[11:22] invigorate your whole body, mind and

[11:24] spirit. Then that music has been has

[11:29] achieved its goal.

[11:32] In the same way,

[11:35] meditation is something which can make

[11:38] our life

[11:40] live more and more the wow moment and

[11:44] bring such strength from inside that we

[11:48] are able to manage our mind, manage our

[11:51] life and bring more positive energy to

[11:55] everybody around us.

[11:58] I'm asking the same question. And are

[12:00] you all here?

[12:03] >> Are you all here?

[12:07] >> Very few are saying yes.

[12:10] How about those people there? Are you

[12:12] all here?

[12:14] >> Yeah.

[12:16] You know, see life from a bigger

[12:19] context. If you see through my eyes, I

[12:21] would say

[12:24] see from see the life from a bigger

[12:26] context

[12:28] in time and space. How long have you

[12:31] been on this planet? How long you

[12:34] proposed to sleep here? Not forever.

[12:37] Nobody has lived forever.

[12:40] This short span of life, 100 years, 80

[12:42] years, under 120 years, we live on the

[12:45] planet. How do we spend? How do we live?

[12:49] Have you thought about it? How do we

[12:52] want to live? Have we thought about it?

[12:56] If you have not thought, now is the time

[12:59] to reflect on our own life,

[13:05] you know. And so loving tomorrow is

[13:09] loving yourself because you are the one

[13:12] who who was there yesterday, who are

[13:14] here today and you will continue to be

[13:17] there tomorrow also.

[13:20] Yeah.

[13:22] Then we need to understand about our own

[13:25] body, our mind, our intellect,

[13:28] our self. That's something deep in us

[13:32] which doesn't change. And that is all

[13:35] love.

[13:37] And when we tap into that central core

[13:40] of our being, we exuberate love. We emit

[13:45] love. And that is what is enlightenment.

[13:50] And that's what is wisdom knowledge.

[13:55] And this is possible for everybody.

[13:59] All of us can experience

[14:02] all that. It needs a little time to let

[14:05] go of stress.

[14:08] Yeah. So

[14:12] I know people go a little high

[14:15] taking some substances

[14:18] saying going into music but all what

[14:22] what is that? Why we are taking mushroom

[14:25] and other things? Because we want to go

[14:28] to another dimension in life. We want to

[14:32] go into that tomorrow land now.

[14:36] But that is available right in your own

[14:40] breath. If you attend to your breath, do

[14:43] some deeper meditation

[14:46] without any expenses. You can feel the

[14:48] high. You can see the beauty within you

[14:52] and you will see the whole world is

[14:55] filled with energy,

[14:58] beauty, love and truth and and wisdom

[15:05] unmatching wisdom will rise in our own

[15:08] life. Yeah. So are you ready for mu

[15:14] meditation? You know meditation music

[15:17] they go together very well. So we will

[15:20] do a short meditation. Many times people

[15:23] think meditation

[15:26] is boring or is very difficult to do. We

[15:29] think meditation is concentration.

[15:33] I tell you it is not. Meditation is a

[15:37] deep relaxation.

[15:40] It deep relaxation. In short period of

[15:43] meditation we gain so much energy

[15:48] that that is equivalent to 6 to 8 hours

[15:50] of sleep.

[15:52] Not only that the mind becomes very

[15:54] sharp

[15:57] and your emotions become very uplifted

[16:02] and this is what the world is looking

[16:04] forward. Right? See today when

[16:08] we are losing one life every 40 second

[16:12] every 40 second one

[16:15] person is committing suicide in the

[16:17] planet

[16:20] and that is not good this is we are in

[16:22] this century that's not good at all

[16:25] right

[16:26] how many of you known somebody that you

[16:29] know have committed suicide raise your

[16:32] hand

[16:33] raise your and in the back there

[16:41] because we don't know

[16:44] how to handle our mind.

[16:49] One in every four person on the planet

[16:52] is suffering from some sort of mental

[16:54] problem.

[16:59] And mind is not just only waking state

[17:01] of consciousness. See

[17:05] There is linear time in the waking state

[17:09] of consciousness. But when you go to

[17:11] dream state of consciousness, there is

[17:14] no logic in the dream. Right?

[17:19] Is there any logic in the dream? No

[17:22] logic. Dream state is a different state.

[17:26] And then deep sleep. So the three states

[17:28] we all experience every day, every

[17:31] night.

[17:34] waking slate, dreaming and deep sleep.

[17:39] Life is not just this. There is one more

[17:42] state and that is the fourth state of

[17:46] consciousness

[17:49] which human life is hungry for.

[17:53] And once we experience that deep

[17:56] meditation, you find such fulfillment

[18:00] and nobody can take the smile away from

[18:02] you. You know people usually ask how

[18:05] come in in the art of living your

[18:08] organization everybody's smiling all the

[18:10] time. I say that is a secret want to

[18:14] share with everybody.

[18:16] You know the secret is finding the

[18:19] central core of our being

[18:22] which has connection to the universal

[18:25] energy.

[18:27] Yeah. You know our body is made up of

[18:32] trillions of cells. You know how many?

[18:36] 30 trillion cells we are made up of.

[18:41] And each of these cell is vibrating

[18:45] energy. And if we are stuck and if we

[18:50] are stuck with one or two events here

[18:52] and there then it gets distorted.

[18:59] I'll give you another example. Uh say

[19:04] a mirror

[19:06] the ancient saying is mind is like a

[19:10] mirror.

[19:11] The mind is like a mirror. You need to

[19:13] keep it clean, right? What is the

[19:16] difference between a photograph of me

[19:18] and a mirror? Mirror

[19:22] reflects anything that is in front of

[19:24] it. But a photography is stuck.

[19:28] It's only one thing it is stuck with.

[19:32] So instead of our mind being a

[19:35] photography, we have to turn that into a

[19:38] mirror. In fact, it is a mirror. As a

[19:41] child, you have been doing like that. If

[19:43] you remember

[19:45] uh when you are or if you see other

[19:48] children,

[19:49] they live in the present moment. Have

[19:52] you noticed them? You know, the most

[19:54] fascinating scene is to see a baby

[19:57] crying and the tears are still on its

[20:00] cheek and it starts smiling. It doesn't

[20:03] take much time for the baby to smile

[20:05] back. That's the most fascinating scene.

[20:07] How many of you seen this with your

[20:10] children? Raise your hand. There in the

[20:12] back. There. There. There. There. There.

[20:15] Yeah. If you have not seen, notice it.

[20:18] The beauty is

[20:23] exhibited in a child. That's why

[20:25] children are so positive. They are so

[20:28] full of energy, positive energy.

[20:31] Uh and that

[20:34] is possible for everybody. And

[20:38] meditator means one who becomes like

[20:42] that again. Keep the mind so clean. So

[20:45] like a mirror and so you reflect and

[20:50] yeah

[20:52] that is that is so necessary. So shall

[20:56] we do a meditation now and then I will

[20:59] take more questions answer with you.

[21:03] Again I tell I I was telling you that uh

[21:06] again I'm telling you that meditation is

[21:09] not concentration or effort. I'm going

[21:13] to give a few instruction. You just

[21:15] listen to it like you listen to a music.

[21:18] Yeah.

[21:21] Okay. And what you all that you need to

[21:24] do is just relax.

[21:28] Ready?

[21:30] Everyone here you know once we start

[21:32] meditation you are stuck. You have to

[21:34] stay those whatever 10 minutes 15

[21:37] minutes otherwise you will disturb

[21:39] everyone else. So no one is going to

[21:41] leave in the middle. Okay. Is that

[21:43] right? Is it okay with everyone? So we

[21:47] are going to meditate

[21:49] and

[21:52] it has many many benefits. I want to

[21:55] tell you more than 100 benefits are

[21:58] there with meditation.

[22:00] It can keep you young. It can keep you

[22:04] vibrant. It can uplift your spirit. Make

[22:07] your mind sharp and very intuitive.

[22:12] You know we have started this program

[22:14] for intuition program for kids. You must

[22:18] just watch this. You can go to art of

[22:21] living intuition website and watch see

[22:24] what miracles children are doing, what

[22:27] wonders children are doing. Yeah, we

[22:31] have many children here also in Europe

[22:33] whose intuition level has gone to

[22:36] another level all together. They're able

[22:39] to see things and

[22:43] see through the time and space. Go

[22:46] beyond time and space. go beyond waking,

[22:49] dreaming and sleeping states of

[22:51] consciousness and that is uplifting our

[22:54] spirit. Okay. So let's start with

[22:58] meditation.

[23:00] Just before meditation I would say

[23:05] I'll show you a little exercise

[23:08] in which

[23:10] we

[23:12] we'll do some yeah

[23:14] we relax our body. Let's keep our spine

[23:18] erect, body relaxed.

[23:22] And you may put your arms open, your

[23:27] palms open on your lap.

[23:31] Now when you breathe in,

[23:34] you bring your fingers together.

[23:38] Don't lift the palm. I'm just lifting it

[23:40] to show to you. When you breathe in, you

[23:43] bring your fingers together. And when

[23:46] you breathe out, you're going to relax

[23:48] your fingers back. We're going to

[23:52] synchronize our breath, our hand

[23:56] movement, and our eye movement. Okay.

[24:00] Okay.

[24:02] >> Okay.

[24:03] >> There in the back.

[24:05] >> Yeah. Okay.

[24:09] So, let's uh close our eyes and keep our

[24:13] palms open.

[24:16] and keep them on our lap.

[24:20] Now we breathe in

[24:24] and bring your fingers together and open

[24:27] your eyes.

[24:32] And as you breathe out,

[24:36] gently close your eyes and pro open your

[24:39] fingers.

[24:45] Breathe in.

[24:49] Open your eyes.

[24:53] Breathe out.

[24:56] Close your eyes.

[25:00] Again. Breathe in.

[25:05] Bring your fingers together. Eyes open.

[25:09] Synchronize the eye movement.

[25:12] and the hand movement. It's like music

[25:15] you know music is synchronization of

[25:19] different instrument.

[25:21] Similarly your hand your eye movement

[25:25] and breath is what need to be

[25:28] synchronized.

[25:30] Let's do it

[25:33] three times more. We going to do it

[25:38] and breathe out.

[25:46] Breathe in.

[25:49] Open your eyes. Bring your fingers

[25:51] together.

[25:55] And breathe out.

[25:58] And open your fingers.

[26:04] Eyes closed.

[26:07] Body relaxed.

[26:13] Let's complete this round and last

[26:16] round. Breathe in

[26:20] and bring your fingers together. Eyes

[26:23] open

[26:25] and slowly breathe out,

[26:30] eyes closed

[26:32] and palms open.

[26:46] Become aware of your whole body.

[26:54] Remember the weight of your body.

[26:56] Whatever it is 60 kilos, 70 kilos,

[27:02] 90 kilos.

[27:04] Let us place the weight of our body on

[27:07] the chair we are sitting.

[27:15] We came into this planet weighing just 2

[27:19] and 1/2 kilos or 3 kilos.

[27:26] And today we weigh

[27:29] 90 kilos, 80 kilos, whatever that is.

[27:38] Let us honor our own body.

[27:43] In another 30, 40, 50, 60 years, this

[27:47] body will go back to the earth.

[27:52] This is the most

[27:55] precious gift you have received in your

[27:58] life. Your own body. Let us honor your

[28:02] own body.

[28:37] Let's take our attention to our feet.

[28:41] Feel your toes,

[28:48] heels.

[28:54] ankle.

[28:56] Gently bring your attention to different

[28:59] parts of the body as I mentioned

[29:02] and keep your eyes closed, shoulders

[29:05] relaxed

[29:07] and repose.

[29:13] Now let's take our attention to our

[29:15] cough muscle.

[29:24] knees,

[29:33] thighs,

[29:39] and hip.

[29:43] Let's take a deep breath in. Feeling the

[29:45] lower part of our body.

[29:51] Hold the breath

[29:53] and breathe out and relax.

[30:02] Let's bring our attention

[30:05] to lower abdomen,

[30:14] upper abdomen,

[30:17] navl. This region

[30:24] that which makes the food turn into

[30:27] energy

[30:29] our liver, pancreas, stomach, intestine.

[30:34] Let's keep our attention there.

[30:43] Layer by layer your attention

[30:48] to the internal organs,

[30:58] the skin and the tissues.

[31:01] Take your mind from external

[31:06] to internal organs.

[31:10] Another

[31:18] deep breath in and let go.

[31:48] Take your attention to the back of the

[31:53] stomach, your back, shoulder blades,

[32:00] spinal column.

[32:05] And let's take another deep breath in

[32:11] and slowly breathe out

[32:16] and become aware of your lungs, the

[32:19] thorax region.

[32:29] Now the shoulders and arms.

[32:45] And now the face. Relax your face. Relax

[32:50] your cheeks,

[32:59] your eyeballs, eyelids.

[33:03] and the whole head. If you find some

[33:06] tension anywhere in the body, just let

[33:09] it be.

[33:12] We will not meddle with any tension. You

[33:15] find some, just let it be. Let us

[33:18] embrace it and see how it disappears.

[33:22] Embracing tension

[33:25] make it dissolve and disappear.

[33:31] Let's take another deep breath in with a

[33:35] big smile

[33:38] and breathe out with a smile.

[33:45] Let's take our attention to the top of

[33:48] the head

[33:54] and become aware of the empty space

[33:57] above your head.

[34:12] Become aware of the empty space above

[34:15] your head up to the ceiling of this

[34:18] auditorium.

[34:22] Another deep breath in

[34:26] and breathe out and relax.

[34:37] Our body is the most precious gift that

[34:41] we have.

[34:47] Let us move to the second dimension, the

[34:49] breath.

[34:56] It is the breath that is keeping our

[34:58] body alive.

[35:02] Another deep breath in

[35:06] and let go.

[35:15] Like fish eat the water.

[35:19] We are in air.

[35:21] Let us become aware of this phenomena.

[35:29] Feel the air all around you

[35:34] and fill your lungs with fresh air.

[35:40] And breathe out.

[35:45] Little bit attention on the air inside

[35:49] and outside of us

[35:53] without much effort is what we are doing

[35:56] now.

[36:12] Incoming breath energizes the body and

[36:17] outgoing breath brings relaxation.

[36:24] This is happening all the time.

[36:29] Just

[36:31] breathe in

[36:33] and breathe out.

[36:39] Let's breathe in with a smile

[36:43] and with reverence breathe out.

[36:53] We're going to do five deep breaths with

[36:57] reverence to the breath.

[37:00] Welcome the incoming breath

[37:04] as you would do to an honored guest

[37:08] and hold

[37:10] and see off the outgoing breath like you

[37:14] would do to a dear friend.

[37:19] Let's do this

[37:21] another four times. Breathe in with a

[37:24] smile

[37:27] and hold

[37:30] and breathe out with a smile.

[38:13] Let's move to the third dimension. The

[38:15] mind.

[38:25] Our body is like the wick of a candle.

[38:30] The mind is like the glow all around it.

[38:37] Let us energize our mind with the sound

[38:42] that means love and peace.

[38:46] Love and joy.

[38:49] So, let's take a deep breath in

[38:53] with a big smile.

[38:58] Oh.

[39:10] Let the sound sink into every cell of

[39:13] our body and bring energy, peace, and

[39:18] love. Once again.

[39:24] Oh.

[39:44] Another deep breath in

[39:47] with a big smile.

[39:50] Oh

[40:05] now just relax and let go

[40:10] all your efforts.

[40:15] Whatever thoughts are coming, just let

[40:17] them come. Embrace all the thoughts.

[40:23] Good or bad, they come and go like the

[40:26] clouds.

[40:35] Another deep breath in

[40:38] with a smile.

[40:42] And breathe out like this and let go and

[40:47] relax.

[40:53] Next couple of minutes there is nothing

[40:56] to do

[40:58] and nothing to know either.

[41:04] Repose in yourself.

[41:49] Become aware of the vast space all

[41:52] around you

[41:56] and above you.

[42:07] Become aware of the vast sky,

[42:12] millions of stars.

[42:23] Relax your body.

[42:26] Let all the entropy calm down.

[42:32] Let the mind cool down

[42:36] as the body relaxes. Mind expands.

[42:42] Mind is thinner than air.

[42:49] Let go all your effort.

[42:54] Next couple of minutes, nothing to do,

[42:58] nothing to know. Breathe out.

[43:42] Oh, let's take another deep breath in

[43:45] with a big smile.

[43:50] Let the smile percolate to the back of

[43:53] the head.

[43:56] Breathe out with a smile.

[44:03] and take your attention

[44:07] to your throat and neck. Let the smile

[44:11] descend to your chest, shoulders.

[44:16] This is the whole body smiling.

[44:23] Another deep breath in.

[44:27] And as you breathe out, you may become

[44:32] aware of your body and surroundings.

[44:39] And you may gently

[44:42] open your eyes.

[44:54] Was it good?

[44:57] There in the bag.

[45:00] There.

[45:02] Did you feel the time? You meditated a

[45:04] little over 20 minutes. Did you feel the

[45:06] time? How many of you didn't feel the

[45:09] time?

[45:11] Raise your hand. Yeah.

[45:14] Great.

[45:17] Now I'm ready for questions. Yeah,

[45:20] >> we have questions. Thank you so much for

[45:21] this meditation, Gurudv. Nice to meet

[45:24] you again. That was very nice. You said

[45:27] when we meditate together, you bring a

[45:30] kinder energy to the room. I'm [snorts]

[45:32] very curious. You've been in peace talks

[45:34] in really important rooms. How do you

[45:38] think meditation is the key to a kinder

[45:40] world? How does that work exactly?

[45:42] >> You know, we convey more through our

[45:44] energy than through our words. So, if

[45:47] our energy is positive, we are able to

[45:50] reach out to people. And of course,

[45:53] people are people. You know, everybody

[45:54] has that good thing in them.

[45:57] >> So when you trigger the goodness in

[45:59] others, they come to talk with you.

[46:02] >> All right. I'm just I'm just going to

[46:04] turn to the audience and say that you

[46:06] can all ask questions to Gurudev too. My

[46:10] partner in crime, Koba, is there right

[46:11] in the middle of the room. He's tall

[46:13] enough. He's just waved. So if you have

[46:15] a question for Gurudev, you can line up

[46:17] right in the middle of the room and then

[46:19] you can ask your questions through Koba.

[46:22] >> Yeah.

[46:23] >> Okay. Hey, Gurudev, I have one more

[46:24] question for you. I'm very curious about

[46:26] your take on this. Today was all about

[46:28] the future of intelligence. Um, how do

[46:32] you see the world evolving in a world

[46:34] where AI, artificial intelligence is

[46:36] already dominating so many areas of our

[46:39] lives?

[46:42] You know, AI is challenging us to be

[46:45] more creative, to be more original

[46:49] like never before.

[46:50] >> How do we do that? that for that we know

[46:53] we need to calm our mind more and more.

[46:57] The more centered we are the more uh we

[47:01] get access to the creativity.

[47:03] >> Mhm.

[47:04] >> Suppose you are asked to write a poem.

[47:06] What do you need? You say leave me alone

[47:09] for 10 minutes. I'm going to sit and I'm

[47:10] going to So no one can do anything

[47:14] creative in a noisy place. You go to a

[47:17] quiet corner. Then you can write an

[47:19] essay, a drama, a music or even compose

[47:23] a music. You need some quietness, right?

[47:26] Similarly when we create the quietness

[47:28] in our mind then we are able to tap that

[47:33] resource and this uh

[47:36] artist face the writer's block

[47:39] that block gets cleared

[47:43] because isn't I think it's hard in this

[47:46] world to calm my mind because everything

[47:49] is going so fast and our lives are

[47:51] rewarded when we go faster everything is

[47:53] is made to be more efficient. How do you

[47:56] calm down to create more

[47:58] >> creativity? like this. What we did

[48:01] >> like this

[48:02] >> you know uh you run your car high speed

[48:07] 200 kilometers I know in Europe you can

[48:11] go in the autobonds with high speed but

[48:13] when you have to fill the car you stop

[48:16] right you can't fill petrol in your car

[48:19] in the running car

[48:22] so sometime you you take a break you put

[48:24] your car and fill the car and then you

[48:27] go

[48:28] >> so like that the more responsibility you

[48:31] have, the faster you want to go. You

[48:34] have to do the reverse. The taller you

[48:37] want to build a building, deeper you

[48:38] have to go for the foundation, right? So

[48:43] you want to be more dynamic, welcome.

[48:45] For that you need to lessen your

[48:49] entropy.

[48:52] And that is possible in midst of all

[48:55] chaos around you.

[48:57] >> Yeah. Take some rest.

[49:00] Okay, Koba, I see people lined up behind

[49:02] you. So, let's hear it. What are the

[49:04] questions?

[49:05] >> We uh who has a question? You can join

[49:08] us here, which we already have three.

[49:10] So, I will start with you. What's your

[49:11] name?

[49:12] >> Heidi.

[49:13] >> Heidi. Heidi, what's your question? So

[49:16] my question is that a lot of us here

[49:19] today are creators, founders and leaders

[49:22] and people who feel a strong pull

[49:24] towards something we want to build,

[49:26] create or contribute and at the same

[49:29] time we have lives and people we deeply

[49:31] love who need us in the present. So in a

[49:34] way that feels really connected to this

[49:36] idea of love tomorrow

[49:39] devoting ourselves to a tomorrow that we

[49:41] feel called to help create without

[49:44] losing ourselves in that future and

[49:46] missing the life that we're having

[49:48] today. And for me I noticed that pull in

[49:52] both directions might not necessarily be

[49:54] something that we need to resolve.

[49:57] Perhaps it's preise precisely what keeps

[49:59] us grounded in real life and helps us

[50:01] ensure what we create for tomorrow

[50:03] remains relevant for the people living

[50:05] on it. But I'd be interested in your

[50:08] perspective on that natural duality. So

[50:11] how do we love tomorrow while fully

[50:14] living today?

[50:16] >> You have a long question. Can you It was

[50:18] not very clear to me. Audible.

[50:20] >> She's a creator and she's she wants to

[50:21] inspire. Yeah. Let's hear it for her.

[50:23] Great questions.

[50:25] Her

[50:28] question was basically how do we create

[50:31] a better tomorrow while also focusing on

[50:33] our families and our present moment. How

[50:35] to be in the present moment but also

[50:38] focusing on a future.

[50:39] >> Yeah.

[50:41] Yeah. You need both long-term and

[50:43] short-term plan. You want to grow a

[50:46] peach tree, mango tree, apple tree, you

[50:49] should plan for it. But you can't wait

[50:52] till the tree grows and gives you fruit.

[50:55] Today you have to go to market and get

[50:57] your fruits right. So we grow food that

[51:02] is tomorrow but that we do today and

[51:05] today we have to keep our everything

[51:07] together. For that you know what what is

[51:10] most important is see people's emotions

[51:15] as as something that they are going

[51:18] through. Don't get caught up in others

[51:20] emotion.

[51:22] Accept them. Give them that space

[51:25] that will make you uh you know

[51:30] manage the situation the current uh

[51:34] times.

[51:36] Yeah. Let us that does it make it clear.

[51:40] Thank you.

[51:40] >> Thank you.

[51:42] >> Thank you for your

[51:42] >> Yes. We have another one. Please sir

[51:44] join us.

[51:46] >> Also we can't hear you very well. So

[51:48] please speak clearly and slowly. Thank

[51:51] you.

[51:51] >> Did you hear the briefing? Yes.

[51:55] >> So, my name is Luke. Um, there's so much

[51:59] polarities in the world among which

[52:02] between male and female energies, but

[52:06] also between generations like young and

[52:10] elder generations.

[52:12] How can we bring it more together so we

[52:16] understand each other and live the human

[52:22] Should I repeat?

[52:23] >> Yeah.

[52:24] >> Yeah. So, there's You can applaud. You

[52:26] can applaud. Let's applaud everyone who

[52:28] asked the question.

[52:30] Luke, was it right? Okay. Luke was

[52:33] talking about the differences between

[52:34] male and female, younger and older.

[52:37] There's a lot of of clashes right now

[52:39] between them. How do we bring them

[52:40] together and create more unity?

[52:42] >> Yes.

[52:43] >> Was that

[52:44] >> It's a very good question you asked

[52:46] this. No, we must all know that

[52:51] we have both male and female inside us,

[52:55] right? You are made up of both mother

[52:57] and father. So similarly, you have all

[52:59] the qualities of mother, all the

[53:01] qualities of father in you. One is more

[53:03] than the other uh you know and they

[53:06] manifest more than the other at times.

[53:09] Now all these differences is only outer.

[53:14] We should not think that differences are

[53:17] an obstacle obstruction.

[53:20] We must celebrate the differences. I I

[53:22] am the one who says the world is so

[53:26] diverse. Only your fingerprint can open

[53:29] your laptop or your iPad. Nobody else.

[53:32] Right? So we are all made so unique

[53:36] and and the thing is we need to

[53:39] celebrate the diversity

[53:41] celebrate the differences instead of

[53:44] making it a point of contention. This is

[53:47] what I call as wisdom.

[53:50] >> Yeah.

[53:51] >> Thank you.

[53:55] >> Thank you for your question. Please sir

[53:57] join us. What's your name?

[53:59] >> Rhuwell. Readan

[54:02] Rhuwell, what's your question?

[54:04] >> Well, um can I uh after years of

[54:09] meditations myself, uh I love to know

[54:14] why I if I talk to people about it,

[54:17] everybody steps back. I'm not pushing

[54:20] it. I'm just saying I do mindfulness and

[54:23] everybody's afraid of it. At least man.

[54:28] >> So, so what's the question? how to turn

[54:29] that around. Yeah. Okay. So, he's

[54:33] meditating a lot and he notices that

[54:35] when he talks to people about his

[54:37] meditation that people turn turn back

[54:40] turn their backs to him. How do we

[54:42] especially men how do we turn that

[54:44] around this perspective?

[54:46] >> Oh,

[54:48] people you know you don't need to

[54:50] convince people just your smile will

[54:52] speak that for you. You know many people

[54:55] know what is good what is not good but

[54:57] still they don't do it what is good

[54:59] right this is the issue so I tell you

[55:03] today it's much easier 45 years ago when

[55:06] I started meditation means people were

[55:09] like that but today more than 2 billion

[55:13] people are practicing meditation and

[55:15] there are number of scientific evidences

[55:18] that's out there so you keep it keep at

[55:21] it but don't force or insist anything,

[55:26] do it with a smile.

[55:29] >> Maybe you should invite them to uh see

[55:31] Gurudev next time.

[55:34] >> Thank you.

[55:37] >> Hi.

[55:37] >> You know when there is too much stress,

[55:40] people anyway will turn when the doctor

[55:42] says you must meditate otherwise you

[55:44] have to take medication they will anyway

[55:47] come. So there is no escape from this I

[55:50] feel. Yeah,

[55:51] >> we still have time for more questions.

[55:53] Hi, not what's your name?

[55:55] >> Aki. And my question is, how's to deal

[55:58] with injustice? Like social and legal.

[56:01] >> How to deal with injustice?

[56:03] >> Yes.

[56:04] >> Social and legal.

[56:06] >> How to deal with injustice and how to

[56:08] deal with ego. There's two. Yeah.

[56:12] >> Legal. How to deal with injustice?

[56:15] Social injustice or legal injustice.

[56:17] >> Social injustice and legal injustice.

[56:19] legal justice. Okay.

[56:22] Yeah. You know, of course, when

[56:24] injustice is done, you can't say

[56:27] everything is nice. You must stand up to

[56:30] it. I would say fighting for justice is

[56:34] not out of rage will not help. Just

[56:38] getting into rage, you don't know what

[56:40] you do. So,

[56:43] you fight for justice. But to fight for

[56:46] justice, you need a calmer mind. which

[56:49] will think right because anything you do

[56:51] as a reaction you end up regretting it.

[56:55] But if you think properly and take an

[56:58] action you will never regret. And

[57:01] meditation helps you to think properly

[57:04] even when you see injustice around.

[57:07] And legal injustice again you have to

[57:11] keep it keep at it. Don't leave up give

[57:14] up your position you know hold on to it.

[57:18] Yeah. And

[57:21] many times the justice comes when

[57:24] everyone collectively work together.

[57:28] Individual sometimes good, sometimes

[57:31] collective action would be necessary.

[57:34] One person may find it very difficult to

[57:37] do that.

[57:40] >> Thank you. Please. Hi.

[57:44] Uh, hi I'm Sarah and um I think we all

[57:48] live in a world in a society that is

[57:50] over stimulated. We we sometimes even

[57:54] get addicted to it. Um so with this

[57:58] noise pollution and light pollution, how

[58:02] do you create silence

[58:05] for your meditation? Yeah. So in a world

[58:09] that's over stimulated all the time,

[58:10] there's noise, there's chaos all the

[58:12] time, how do you silence your mind for

[58:14] meditation?

[58:16] >> How was it today for you? Tell me,

[58:20] was it good today? Did you feel you

[58:23] meditated for so long?

[58:26] >> It was good.

[58:28] >> Uh the meditation helped but indeed we

[58:31] were all silence.

[58:32] >> Yeah.

[58:34] Today you could do it but other time

[58:36] you're asking how I can do it in other

[58:38] times right

[58:39] >> so guided meditations will help you I

[58:42] made number of guided meditation small

[58:45] and it's freely available it's an app

[58:48] satwa app and uh gurudev app you can

[58:51] just download it it's for and just sit

[58:55] and put it at you know you will

[58:57] automatically go into it this is one

[58:59] thing second is breathing techniques

[59:02] that if you burn few minutes 2 three

[59:05] days and you know it it brings you back

[59:08] into your rhythm.

[59:11] Yeah.

[59:13] >> Thank you. Only time for one more I'm

[59:16] afraid. Please.

[59:18] Sorry.

[59:20] Hi.

[59:20] >> Hi. I feel very lucky. [laughter]

[59:23] My name is Alana and um I mean today I

[59:27] felt incredibly inspired by all the

[59:29] people with passion and purpose and this

[59:33] life full of meaning. So my question to

[59:36] you is uh how does a person find the

[59:39] meaning of life?

[59:41] >> How to find real purpose in one's life?

[59:44] >> In life find the meaning of life. That's

[59:46] a very big question.

[59:48] >> Meaning of life. You know something? One

[59:51] who knows the meaning and purpose of

[59:53] life will not tell you

[59:56] and anyone who tells you make sure that

[59:59] they don't know. You be sure that they

[1:00:01] don't know. You know why this very

[1:00:04] question is like a vehicle

[1:00:08] when you keep wondering what is the

[1:00:09] purpose of my life that takes you into a

[1:00:12] journey

[1:00:14] right and this is a vehicle to go in

[1:00:17] that journey. So someone who is your

[1:00:19] friend will not tell you what is the

[1:00:22] purpose but ask you to encourage you to

[1:00:25] keep asking this question.

[1:00:28] This question itself is a sign of your

[1:00:32] intellect is becoming very mature.

[1:00:34] Number one. Uh second is uh this

[1:00:39] question is you must say it's your

[1:00:42] fortune that you haven't got this

[1:00:44] question that what is the purpose of

[1:00:47] life one thing what I can suggest you

[1:00:50] you can do is you can list out what is

[1:00:53] not the purpose of life that is easy to

[1:00:56] do

[1:00:57] just sitting and worrying is not the

[1:01:00] purpose of your life blaming others is

[1:01:02] not purpose of your life eat sleep drink

[1:01:05] and Dying is not the purpose of life.

[1:01:08] Right? So what is the purpose of life?

[1:01:12] By negating you move into that

[1:01:15] direction. Okay. One last thing I would

[1:01:18] tell you all is there is a technique to

[1:01:22] get over worries. How many of you want

[1:01:24] to know how to get over the worries?

[1:01:28] How many of you don't want to know how

[1:01:30] to get get rid of worries?

[1:01:33] Hey, come on. Some of you are not

[1:01:34] raising hand for both.

[1:01:38] How many want to know how to get rid of

[1:01:40] worries?

[1:01:42] Now more hands are getting up. Now here

[1:01:45] don't be shy. You know just be natural.

[1:01:49] You know the way to get rid of worry is

[1:01:52] sing your worries.

[1:01:55] You got it? You know if you have a

[1:01:58] worry, oh what will happen to my job

[1:02:02] tomorrow? Then instead of that one

[1:02:05] thought bogging your mind bog all the

[1:02:08] time, you must sing it. What will I do

[1:02:13] if I don't get the job tomorrow?

[1:02:18] So

[1:02:20] put a DJ and sing your worry. You will

[1:02:22] see your worry disappears like this.

[1:02:26] Got it.

[1:02:28] >> We have to sing. [applause]

[1:02:32] All right. Just one more because this

[1:02:35] gentleman was really really really

[1:02:37] >> Okay. Okay.

[1:02:38] >> Very quick. Yeah. Hi. I want to know

[1:02:40] actually what's your intake about the

[1:02:42] astrology astrology like vadic

[1:02:45] reincarnation life cycles and does

[1:02:47] really mercury retrograde and all that

[1:02:50] counts or everything is a guideline on

[1:02:53] our own birth chart

[1:02:56] >> wait that was very hard to hear

[1:02:58] >> it was able here you know

[1:03:01] >> was it about a astrology and your birth

[1:03:03] chart

[1:03:04] >> no recarnation does it affect all the

[1:03:06] planets does it affect

[1:03:08] >> our path Reincarnation, does it affect

[1:03:11] our planets and our plan?

[1:03:14] >> What is that about reincarnation?

[1:03:16] >> Does reincarnation affect our path?

[1:03:20] >> I mean, you know,

[1:03:22] >> no, no, no. I'm sorry to interrupt. It's

[1:03:24] different. It's it's about astrology,

[1:03:27] right?

[1:03:27] >> Yeah. I I want to know what's your

[1:03:30] intake about the astrology, the vidic

[1:03:32] and the western. Is there like a

[1:03:34] guideline if you've made your own birth

[1:03:38] chart? Oh, so you want to know if

[1:03:40] astrology is actually a guideline?

[1:03:43] >> Yes. Huh?

[1:03:44] >> Western astrology is it actually a

[1:03:47] guideline how to live your path?

[1:03:49] >> Astrology?

[1:03:50] >> Yes. What's your take on astrology?

[1:03:51] >> Oh yeah. Astrology is an indication. It

[1:03:53] is like your uh GPS. It just to tells

[1:03:58] you where there is roadblock and where

[1:04:01] what roots you can take. That's all.

[1:04:03] Astrology is knowing the connection

[1:04:06] between macrocosm and microcosm.

[1:04:10] It is not a fatalistic science. It is

[1:04:13] just a map for you. That's all. And it

[1:04:17] can rroot you many times. Yeah. You know

[1:04:21] most of this question I have this book

[1:04:23] called in uh journey within. In that

[1:04:28] book I have written or intimate note to

[1:04:30] the sincere seeker or journey within one

[1:04:33] of you pick it up and then you will find

[1:04:35] all this one huh spoken on all these

[1:04:37] topics.

[1:04:39] All the best

[1:04:40] >> thank you so much

[1:04:41] >> for your question.

[1:04:43] >> Back to you. [applause]

[1:04:45] >> Thank you so much Gurv for his inspiring

[1:04:47] talk.

[1:04:48] >> Lovely.

[1:04:48] >> Hope to see you next time maybe. Thank

[1:04:51] you. Give him a round of applause

[1:04:52] please. Thanks. [applause]

[1:05:00] >> [cheering]

Frequently Asked Questions

In his Love Tomorrow Summit talk, Gurudev describes absolute intelligence as the aspect of ourselves that is ancient yet ever new, older than the sun, moon and stars. He uses the image of a river, which is ancient while its water is always fresh, to explain how consciousness persists while experience keeps renewing.
He describes the mind as the part that perceives through the five senses, the intellect as the part that judges, accepts and rejects, and memory as the place where consciousness gets stuck. He says that when memory becomes too heavy it is what we call trauma, and he points to a deeper, unchanging layer beneath all three.
Gurudev says from the stage that a short period of meditation can provide energy equivalent to six to eight hours of sleep. He does not cite a study in the talk, so it is best understood as his teaching and experience rather than a documented result.
Gurudev defines meditation as a movement from sound toward silence, where every sound exists to create serenity within. He compares it to a concert that should leave you joyful and invigorated, and says meditation extends that same purpose inward.
He uses the contrast to show how the mind is drawn to novelty, such as the latest gadget, while the heart holds loyalty and nostalgia, like an old friend. He suggests that people come to events like Tomorrowland seeking something new while also wanting to return to something they already love.
Gurudev compares it to a phone that lets you block unwanted numbers and mark favorites, suggesting we can build an inner mechanism that blocks unfavorable energy and welcomes positive energy. He calls that practice meditation and says it is cultivated through the breath and inner stillness.
Gurudev says meditation is deep relaxation, not concentration. The guided session he leads uses breath-hand-eye synchronization, a full body scan, mindful breathing and chanting of Om, with an emphasis on letting thoughts come and go rather than forcing focus.
