Awareness Beyond the Person: The Direct Path to Universal Consciousness

A man stands in the September warmth at Monte Sahaja, Portugal, carrying a question that has been building inside him. He can see it all—the body, the mind, the thoughts, the pain, the stress. He is aware of these things. But awareness itself remains a mystery. "I'm always aware of something," he says. "I want to be aware of awareness." The question opens a door.

This is the terrain Mooji navigates with him—not through philosophy or concept, but through direct observation. The inquiry that follows is deceptively simple: if you are aware of everything that comes and goes, what can be said of awareness itself?

Lesen · 5 Abschnitte

The Perceiving Power That Does Not Come and Go

Mooji begins by naming what the seeker is already experiencing. "Everything that appears in the consciousness becomes like an object of perception—it comes, plays, and goes," he explains. "Relative to what is coming and going, the perceiving power, which is the consciousness itself, is not coming and going. It is there to say, 'Here it comes. There it goes.'"

This is the first crack in the familiar story. Most of us live as if we are the things we perceive—the body that ages, the mind that worries, the emotions that rise and fall. But if I am aware of all of these, can I be those things? The perceiving power remains distinct from the perceived. A thought comes; consciousness knows it. Pain arises; consciousness is aware of it. Both leave. What remains?

Mooji presses deeper into this recognition with the questioner: "What is happening to consciousness itself in this? What can it say of itself?" The insight here is radical. While everything else has a lifespan—a year or two of desire, then it arrives, then it dissolves—consciousness does not track time in the same way. "Everything nothing seemed to stick like a writing on water for a moment and then you cannot read," Mooji offers. "Nothing sticks to it."

Why Consciousness Is Not Impacted by Its Own Content

The questioner makes a crucial observation: consciousness does not suffer what appears within it. Mooji affirms this directly: "Is consciousness itself suffering it? No. Why not? Because it's not it has no interest. It is it's not impacted."

This is not indifference born of numbness. It is a quality of being that remains intact because it is not identified with the content of experience. When I believe I am the person, I become reactive. That person has needs, desires, rivalries, fears. But if I recognize that I am the consciousness in which the person appears, something shifts fundamentally. The same events may occur, but they no longer land with the same force.

Mooji explores the paradox further: if consciousness creates the potential for all things to appear—if it is the ground in which thought, form, and experience arise—then what does it need? "I would say harmony," the seeker responds. But Mooji turns this inside out: "Is harmony something that consciousness must reach or is it inherent in consciousness?" The answer comes: "Inherent."

If harmony is inherent in consciousness, then seeking harmony is the problem. Seeking arises only when we believe we are separate from what we seek. But consciousness cannot be separate from itself. "If you are already in harmony, you would not be seeking harmony," Mooji says. "You would only be seeking harmony if you experience disharmony. And disharmony can only come when consciousness takes the shape of something personal."

The Person as a Mode of Consciousness

Here Mooji makes a crucial distinction: the person is not abolished or rejected. Rather, it is understood for what it is—a mode of consciousness, a shape it takes, like an actor wearing a role. "The person is actually a mode and aspect of consciousness also but it has a strong identity that's been developed maybe over many lifetimes of believing I am the body."

To illustrate this principle, Mooji offers an image that cuts through layers of confusion. Imagine a gas enters a room and makes everyone forget who they are. "Then you everybody breathe and then this gas makes everybody forget who they are and so they don't know who's which body is their body. So can you imagine that the bodies will be going hey me you go together?" But the body itself knows nothing of this. The body has no name. It does not know if it belongs to John or Jennifer. It is simply an instrument through which consciousness expresses itself for a time.

This reveals something profound: the identification "I am George" or "I am this body" is a belief, not a fact. The body has no opinion about it. Consciousness uses the body and the mind, but it is not born from them and is not bound by them. Yet consciousness does seem to individuate—to create what might be called a soul, each with its own unique journey. "God must have done this thing but every journey eventually must come back to where it came from. It's come home again," Mooji says.

The Person as an Eclipse, Not a Doorway

The questioner makes a confession that opens yet another layer: "I realized how hard I've been on the person trying to reach my real self." Mooji responds with an image that dissolves the effort: "You cannot reach your real self through the person."

He then offers the metaphor of an eclipse. Most seekers believe they must go through the person to reach something beyond. But the structure is not like that. "The person is like an eclipse, you know. So there's you. We don't know who that is yet. Then there's sort of the person mind stuff. And then there seems to be like if I get through this, I'll get to that. Like an eclipse. The sun is over there. Moon has come. You're here like this. But it's not an eclipse that way. It's like an eclipse this way."

In other words, the person is not between you and what you truly are. The person is a passing phenomenon in consciousness. What you are is already here, not blocked by the person but simply overlooked because attention habitually flows into the personal mode. "You're not trying to go there. You're not trying to go through the person. You see, you're observing and the sense of the person is coming and it's catching igniting and like a reflex your attention has been happening over so long the habit of going to into the personal mode," Mooji explains.

The shift, then, is not about distance or effort. It is about where attention rests. "What you are never left. It can't go. It's everywhere. This consciousness fills everything. But it appears to have gone simply because something came. The I feeling, the Y feeling, the world feeling come and something gets as though it's got hypnotized into this thing for a bit."

Freedom Through Disidentification

This recognition leads to what Mooji calls a natural detachment. "We are naturally detached from 99.9% of things you can walk through anything go not detach it go and do your way," he says. But as soon as attachment arises—as soon as consciousness takes the shape of a person with a stake in outcomes—perception becomes colored with need, fear, and resistance.

The freedom that emerges from the recognition of consciousness is not a freedom from the world. Life continues. The body lives, the mind functions, actions occur. But "when you catch hold of it like that then doesn't matter if all billions of things can come it will not make difference." You can move through any circumstance—any town, any situation, any crisis of the person—but nothing lands with the same weight because you have recognized that you are not the one to whom things happen. You are the consciousness in which happenings occur.

This is not spiritual bypassing or denial. It is a shift in fundamental identity. As long as you believe you are the person, you suffer the person's fate. The moment you recognize yourself as the consciousness that observes the person, suffering does not disappear—but your relationship to it transforms entirely. The person may still experience pain, but consciousness itself remains untouched.

Mooji returns, near the end of this inquiry, to something he has suggested throughout: that this recognition is not foreign to you, nor is it the result of years of effort. "You have a marvelous uh power with you," he tells the seeker. The only instruction is to stop working so hard to become something you already are. "Don't be too mental," he advises. Rest as the awareness that is already here, observing. Let the person do what it does. Watch without claiming ownership. In that simple turning, everything changes.

[0:22] I first want to say thank you to you and

[0:25] the SA.

[0:26] >> Yeah. for creating this man-made

[0:30] paradise on earth.

[0:31] >> Mhm. Why?

[0:34] Why we would do?

[0:37] >> For for me it's because it gives me a

[0:41] lot of hope that mankind

[0:45] can bring with heart, soul and body and

[0:48] mind

[0:50] >> this kind of creation when it has the

[0:53] right energy in it. It reminds me

[0:54] somebody once said um

[1:01] what is the future for mankind to Papa G

[1:05] and he says mankind must become kind man

[1:11] >> what is kind man

[1:14] this is not male female this got nothing

[1:16] to do with gender

[1:19] how what is kind.

[1:24] You use a word because it triggered

[1:25] little something. You know

[1:29] that gives the humankind

[1:32] a maybe a taste that there is something

[1:35] possible. Keep going in the direction.

[1:38] Keep coming in this direction. Let's see

[1:40] how far you must come

[1:44] because there is a point where you could

[1:47] not have been in a conversation like

[1:49] this. Now you are able your being can

[1:52] bear the seeming challenge of being in

[1:55] an environment like that where we're

[1:57] looking. Some people not ready for that.

[2:00] Is it bad luck? No, they're just not

[2:02] ready for that. Now is your turn. Now

[2:04] see what we can do to look.

[2:10] So my question is I can see it all. I'm

[2:18] aware of a lot

[2:22] body, mind,

[2:24] light, thoughts, uh

[2:26] >> yeah,

[2:26] >> whatever pain uh stress right now.

[2:31] >> Is it a particular skill you have or

[2:32] it's just generally everybody can do?

[2:35] >> You're aware. Did you train for this

[2:38] awareness?

[2:39] to be aware when you're sick or feeling

[2:41] cold or sometimes. Did we go to school

[2:43] to learn that? No. It's inherent in the

[2:47] consciousness that you are.

[2:49] Nobody to teach you when you're hungry

[2:52] or when you're satisfied

[2:54] like that. So something is already there

[2:57] working like that and it has a lot more

[2:59] to offer as much as you want. as inside

[3:04] yourself you're growing

[3:07] not just to attain the fruits the

[3:09] phenomenal fruits of the earth

[3:11] consciousness but for something even

[3:13] deeper than that now you don't mind of

[3:16] course in the meantime enjoy earth

[3:18] consciousness also enjoy earth identity

[3:22] a certain point we're not declaring war

[3:25] on any state but something else is

[3:28] happening a deeper sense a deeper quest

[3:31] or refinement and naturally is maturing

[3:34] in you.

[3:36] And now you're not just talking about

[3:38] things, not just talking about to make

[3:40] more money or these things can happen.

[3:42] We're not against or not. No, but this

[3:45] is different. What you want now? Your

[3:48] life has brought you to this point. What

[3:50] are you uh what is the urge in you?

[3:53] >> I'm always aware of something.

[3:56] >> Mhm.

[3:57] I want to be aware of

[4:02] yeah well awareness or just bring me

[4:06] beyond the point of person and name that

[4:09] is one.

[4:09] >> So everything that appears in the

[4:11] consciousness becomes like an object of

[4:14] perception. Everything that comes comes

[4:16] plays goes

[4:18] like this. No, the the relative to what

[4:21] is coming and going, the perceiving

[4:24] power which is the consciousness itself

[4:26] is not coming and going.

[4:29] It it is there to say okay uh here it

[4:32] comes. Okay, there it goes. Here it

[4:34] comes. What is happening to itself in

[4:36] this?

[4:40] What can it say of itself?

[4:43] Everything you can say this thing come

[4:45] this goes. A year or two this was

[4:48] desired. Now it's here. Now it's

[4:50] nothing. Now everything nothing seemed

[4:53] to stick like a writing on water for a

[4:57] moment and then you cannot read. Nothing

[4:59] sticks to it.

[5:02] This this consciousness it's like that

[5:03] or not.

[5:05] Even memory you can say well memory is

[5:07] part of the consciousness. Yeah memory

[5:09] is also a function in the consciousness

[5:12] but memory also can fade and go go. Is

[5:15] and consciousness recognizes the memory

[5:18] now also is fading and going.

[5:21] Is consciousness itself suffering it?

[5:25] >> No.

[5:26] >> No. No. Why not?

[5:32] Because it's not

[5:35] it has no interest. It is it's not

[5:41] impacted.

[5:42] >> Yes.

[5:45] Is it does it have some interest in

[5:47] something

[5:49] that whatever it is it creates the

[5:52] possibility the potential for anything

[5:54] to keep appearing through the mind and

[5:57] in form everything is coming

[5:59] >> I would say harmony

[6:00] >> harmony harmony

[6:04] is harmony something that consciousness

[6:06] must reach or is it inherent in

[6:08] consciousness harmony

[6:10] >> inherent

[6:10] >> inherent

[6:14] So if you are already in harmony, you

[6:16] would not be seeking harmony.

[6:19] You would only be seeking harmony if you

[6:21] experience disharmony. And disharmony

[6:23] can only come when consciousness takes

[6:25] the shape of something personal.

[6:29] Can you can you feel this this thing?

[6:31] When you become personal then you feel

[6:33] oh this one has got this I want this and

[6:35] then then this can happen and that play

[6:38] of the person the person's world desires

[6:40] memories and everything is like

[6:42] happening in the what I call the theater

[6:44] of consciousness it's coming and it is

[6:47] being perceived and it seems at two

[6:50] levels of perceiving one is the that the

[6:52] person itself is trying to measure its

[6:55] own game okay but that also is perceived

[7:02] Now sometimes the sense of the person

[7:05] the person is actually a mode and aspect

[7:07] of consciousness also

[7:10] but it has a strong identity that's been

[7:14] developed maybe over many lifetimes of

[7:16] believing I am the body. It believes I I

[7:19] am if you want to see me if you you see

[7:22] this I'm in it.

[7:24] >> This is my house live here. Okay.

[7:30] But the body doesn't know you. If your

[7:33] name is George, the body doesn't know

[7:34] I'm George.

[7:37] So if we're sitting here and somehow

[7:40] some strange gas she could come in the

[7:42] room invisible stuff and then you

[7:45] everybody breathe and then this gas

[7:47] makes everybody forget who they are

[7:51] and so they don't know who's which body

[7:53] is their body.

[7:57] So can you imagine that the bodies will

[7:58] be going hey me you go together does the

[8:02] body know this even to say whoa whoa

[8:04] look no we are together

[8:07] no the body doesn't know know it name is

[8:11] John or Jennifer and it doesn't know

[8:13] that it's the instrument that the

[8:15] consciousness will use for some purpose

[8:18] and while the consciousness has the

[8:20] tendency to have a strong projection as

[8:23] an individual self or as as a person

[8:25] that must gets acted on something that's

[8:28] in the whole theater of God that the

[8:31] consciousness which is singular will

[8:33] somehow

[8:35] individuate and each one you may call a

[8:38] soul and each soul will have its own

[8:39] unique journey. God must have done this

[8:41] thing but every journey eventually must

[8:46] come back to where it came from. It's

[8:48] come home again and this is how it feels

[8:51] to me.

[8:55] Just in these couple last days I

[8:57] realized how hard I've been on the

[9:00] person trying to reach my real self.

[9:03] >> Ah

[9:04] >> and

[9:04] >> you cannot reach your real self through

[9:07] the person.

[9:10] >> You cannot reach it through the person.

[9:12] >> The the it seems as though the person is

[9:15] like an eclipse, you know. So there's

[9:18] you. We don't know who that is yet. No.

[9:20] Then there's sort of the person mind

[9:23] stuff. No. And then there seems to be

[9:26] like if I get through this, I'll get to

[9:28] that. Like an eclipse. The sun is over

[9:30] there. Moon has come. You're here like

[9:33] this. But it's not an eclipse that way.

[9:35] It's like an eclipse this way.

[9:43] You're not trying to go there. You're

[9:44] not trying to go through the person. You

[9:46] see, you're observing and the sense of

[9:49] the person is coming and it's catching

[9:52] igniting and like a reflex your

[9:54] attention

[9:56] has been happening over so long the

[9:58] habit of going to into the personal mode

[10:02] and then after a while you realize no no

[10:04] no this not what I want and then you

[10:07] want to get back to as it were like

[10:10] getting back but these are not physical

[10:13] divisions not physical distance you

[10:16] It's uh how are you going to get back?

[10:19] You see, but actually what you are never

[10:22] left.

[10:24] It can't go. It's everywhere.

[10:27] This consciousness fills everything. But

[10:30] it appears to have gone simply because

[10:32] something came. The I feeling, the Y

[10:36] feeling, the world feeling come and

[10:38] something gets as though it's got

[10:40] hypnotized into this thing for a bit.

[10:44] When you catch hold of it like that then

[10:47] doesn't matter if all billions of things

[10:49] can come it will not make difference

[10:54] you can go to any town or something and

[10:59] there's what's happening you can say

[11:01] uncountable things are happening but

[11:04] maybe nothing's happening to you why not

[11:08] no interest you see

[11:11] actually I would say we are naturally

[11:13] detached from 99.9% of things

[11:17] you can walk through anything go not

[11:20] detach it go and do your way

[11:24] but as soon as the attachment come like

[11:27] this again something becomes uh a bit

[11:31] noisy not perception because you're

[11:35] walking through the field you can

[11:36] perceive everything perceive there

[11:38] attachment is different attachment

[11:40] becomes very personal

[11:43] And it's the personal sense that seems

[11:46] to cover doesn't hide the self over

[11:50] there. It kind of gets hypnotized into

[11:53] the thing and you forget yourself.

[11:57] >> I don't know if it's useful to you to

[11:58] hear that thing. It's not that you have

[12:00] to get this out the way to get over

[12:02] there. No, you have to see that this is

[12:05] only phenomenal. You don't lose your

[12:08] center for you this. And while you're

[12:11] seeing it, you still the the the the

[12:13] capacity to witness is there. Even the

[12:16] capacity nothing now to witness that is

[12:19] also can say no there's no need to

[12:20] witness anything. Now the function of

[12:22] witnessing what is that which is here

[12:25] that is untouched

[12:28] untouched.

[12:30] What is it? What is its flavor?

[12:35] Today is very good day. I'm very happy

[12:37] we're having what is it then? Do you

[12:40] have to be in contact with an object of

[12:43] perception to derive some quality of joy

[12:46] or pleasure?

[12:49] >> No.

[12:49] >> What is it where there's only

[12:51] consciousness onto itself?

[12:56] Boredom.

[12:59] >> I'm asking is it boredom?

[13:02] Uh

[13:07] does it mean that the world should be

[13:09] just out of the way so I can be just all

[13:12] of myself?

[13:14] >> No.

[13:14] >> Or ah thank you.

[13:19] So whether it's one thing or a thousand

[13:22] things or it's a particular thing which

[13:26] has a strong reading for your sense of

[13:28] person that's going to get magnified and

[13:31] attention is going to go there and even

[13:33] if attention goes to a something and

[13:36] creates a sense of some anxiety inside

[13:38] you it's only a momentary thing. the the

[13:41] the sense of now a sense of anxiousness

[13:44] is there is not a description of the

[13:47] sear

[13:50] >> no I understand

[13:52] >> anxiety sense of anxiety so this is why

[13:55] many people are also of faith and so on

[13:58] they're in in lots of external troubles

[14:00] are there but somehow they and they may

[14:03] for a bit like this but they can still

[14:05] say praise the lord

[14:08] why they say or thank Thank you. Thank

[14:11] you.

[14:14] They can still say okay thank you Jesus.

[14:17] Thank you father

[14:21] whoever they want to

[14:25] because they know this is fleeting

[14:27] things. I used to just something go and

[14:30] attention is gone and when attention is

[14:32] gone it's like I have gone but now you

[14:35] see attention even the movement of

[14:38] attention is watched from something

[14:40] deeper

[14:44] and it's not watched with fiery interest

[14:50] because the watcher is not personal. The

[14:52] watching is not personal. Can you

[14:54] verify?

[14:56] They're just a quality of is but the the

[15:00] personal experiencer is hot

[15:04] >> passionate.

[15:06] >> It needs it needs the the addiction

[15:10] to fulfill its projection. So this is

[15:14] going to create some stuff and an

[15:16] addiction is is seem an addiction. But

[15:20] even now if the person is addicted to

[15:22] something and you see the person also is

[15:25] just a shape of consciousness called I

[15:28] also watched from the from this space.

[15:31] Can you try it and see?

[15:34] Can we try something like um you don't

[15:38] have to tell anybody but something that

[15:40] really gets under your skin.

[15:45] Maybe a person, maybe a thing, maybe

[15:47] something that just triggers uh the

[15:50] emotions and there you feel like you

[15:51] know oh no

[15:54] and watch that just you know induce it.

[15:56] Can you induce?

[15:59] We can actually we can we are doing it

[16:01] all the time. you just try and do now

[16:04] but from this place that I'm speaking

[16:06] now

[16:08] it it's not going to be so easy now

[16:10] actually

[16:12] but can you do just call up something

[16:14] that perhaps you're living in this hope

[16:17] of I don't want to encounter that person

[16:20] or thing or thought but you yourself

[16:25] invited for a moment but stay like in

[16:27] the place that you are looking from

[16:30] and don't get emotionally involved

[16:32] involved and even if emotions come, it's

[16:35] still only an object of perception.

[16:40] Whatever come goes.

[16:43] This is not a 21st century phenomenon.

[16:46] Whatever come goes.

[16:48] It's not a choice it goes.

[16:52] But choice can be how much attention you

[16:54] want to give and how much juice you want

[16:56] to put into it. You may think, "Oh, I

[17:00] didn't feel I had control over that." I

[17:01] said well now you do

[17:08] look from this look from and as this

[17:10] space is it personal or impersonal?

[17:17] Should your contact with life necess

[17:22] necessitate

[17:23] personal

[17:25] contact?

[17:29] Do you know some people are great

[17:32] mothers and grandmothers and

[17:34] grandfathers and inside them there's

[17:37] tremendous love but it's also this

[17:39] beautiful detachment

[17:42] and so there's a power there beautiful

[17:47] and love is a different quality.

[17:53] They can experience emotional love also,

[17:57] but they know love doesn't have to be

[17:59] only emotional.

[18:01] It's much deeper,

[18:03] much wider.

[18:06] Just like the prayer you make for one

[18:09] person, you could pray for the whole

[18:11] world with the same prayer.

[18:15] But we're stingy. No, no, not for them.

[18:17] No, not this one.

[18:22] But your consciousness is universal.

[18:26] It's not even limited by earth.

[18:30] You should be happy when I tell you

[18:32] this.

[18:45] Look, some of us you know you see an an

[18:48] animal or dog injured you compassion go

[18:50] there

[18:53] cat maybe not why why same same they

[18:57] feel like you

[19:00] these are the the tendency towards

[19:03] subjective functioning through the uh

[19:06] personalized consciousness

[19:09] I don't want to train you for this

[19:11] because automatically if you focus your

[19:13] consciousness will just set free to be

[19:16] as broad as it naturally is.

[19:21] You don't have to eat special food for

[19:24] that.

[19:30] So what what ring you want to put around

[19:33] yourself now

[19:35] what boundary you know because remember

[19:38] that the feeling might be if my circle

[19:41] is tight then my being is more intense

[19:44] but I say no no the you set be set free

[19:48] you don't have any boundary who told you

[19:51] maybe just for um

[19:55] for getting on in life you have to

[19:56] pretend um this bound boundary but

[19:58] inside you are nobody's bound you very

[20:01] godlike thing

[20:07] what shape you must honor so strong

[20:11] what is the shape of consciousness what

[20:13] is the size of consciousness

[20:20] so I'm hinting at the

[20:23] god level consciousness in you because

[20:25] it is there it's natural

[20:29] I'm not saying call yourself God not in

[20:31] this kind of way but in another moment

[20:33] why not it's it's not it's not equal

[20:36] with is one with

[20:42] is there a problem living somewhere in

[20:44] you that feels like hey yeah everything

[20:47] is good but keep this a bit secret

[20:49] because no no we don't want to go there

[20:53] bring it in and take a

[21:00] You're not defined by the size of your

[21:03] body, the shape or wherever. Nothing is

[21:05] like this. For consciousness doesn't

[21:07] obey those

[21:09] earth rules,

[21:12] but don't you don't have to go talking

[21:14] about this. You find it.

[21:19] So, should we carry on what we were

[21:20] trying on? How far have we reached? I

[21:23] it's been a relief when you said

[21:28] uh

[21:30] when when when you are it then there's

[21:33] no boundaries then it just

[21:36] >> flows by itself.

[21:37] >> Yes.

[21:38] >> Did you just believe that or could you

[21:40] see or could you can you see this? I

[21:42] >> I could feel it in my body as belief.

[21:45] >> Yes.

[21:47] >> I could feel it in my body as belief.

[21:49] >> Yes. Yes.

[21:53] From the side of the truth, how long

[21:55] will it last?

[22:01] >> It's a silly question.

[22:03] Uh

[22:06] >> consciousness doesn't obey time, earth

[22:08] time.

[22:09] >> Yeah.

[22:09] >> Or those limits of mind.

[22:13] But the reflex, the culture is that

[22:15] somehow these things will come. And it's

[22:18] okay that they come. When they come, you

[22:20] use them to to strengthen your

[22:22] discernment to clarify. This exercise is

[22:25] very good.

[22:27] Don't run. No, no, no. Don't want to.

[22:29] No, no. Look, look.

[22:38] So, should we finish off what we want to

[22:40] say now? What we what we have to

[22:43] >> uh Yes.

[22:45] Uh,

[22:48] I'm still

[22:50] I still see I'm searching.

[22:53] >> Mhm.

[22:54] >> Uh,

[22:55] >> you just remembered that. No.

[22:56] >> Yeah.

[22:57] >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay.

[23:03] >> I have to finish here something. So,

[23:07] you were fine. Fine. Oh.

[23:15] >> Yeah. So, I had to search some problems

[23:18] to finish off

[23:20] >> when when

[23:22] what is the time frame to deal with

[23:24] them? Uh

[23:29] >> there's a time frame that the world will

[23:31] say you have to do this and that may so

[23:33] but when do you in your heart to deal

[23:34] with them

[23:37] or meet them from you do you you who are

[23:41] you do you have a problem

[23:44] your essence being does it have a

[23:46] problem with anything? No,

[23:49] >> no, no.

[23:51] Somewhere in here, you're going to find

[23:53] a balance with that. There's some things

[23:55] you still have to address, but you're

[23:57] going to address it with much, much

[23:58] greater. The whole the whole of

[24:01] consciousness is with you to do it.

[24:07] And if you feel I can't do this, you

[24:09] something feel no, it's okay. Maybe it's

[24:10] just fine. Just leave that for now. You

[24:13] don't have to be no, I'm going to I'm

[24:14] going to

[24:18] And the thing is going ouch out ouch no

[24:23] you have a marvelous uh power with you.

[24:28] It's called your intuition.

[24:31] Your intuition give you a sense a sense

[24:34] of you know if you are one who have to

[24:37] plan your tracks you will have

[24:39] difficulty.

[24:42] Yeah, you're going to in this world uh

[24:46] move with the wind.

[24:52] You'll know what that you'll come to

[24:54] know what that mean. Don't be too mental

[24:56] about it. But there's there's a

[24:59] there's a poetry about you.

[25:05] Nobody you live it. You live this

[25:08] poetry.

[25:10] You don't have to write it down on

[25:11] paper.

[25:14] God is the poetry in you.

[25:19] The grace of God, the light of God, the

[25:22] light of the life

[25:26] is the source of your being.

[25:31] Don't think, oh, this is too much for

[25:33] me.

[25:42] I'm not trying to orient you towards

[25:44] pride. It's not pride. Pride is a lot of

[25:47] pride.

[25:52] But appreciate yourself.

[25:59] Just realize I have to do nothing.

[26:04] And yet things get done.

[26:06] >> And yet things get done.

[26:11] >> Take off big pressure off yourself.

[26:14] It may seem very irresponsible

[26:17] thing that he said.

[26:23] And yet your work needs to happen will

[26:27] happen. Wind assisted actually more

[26:30] you'll find it in your heart not just in

[26:32] the mind. You see more and more.

[26:41] >> You feel embarrassed to be so happy.

[26:46] >> No.

[26:49] >> No.

[26:52] >> Very good.

[26:53] >> Thank you.

[26:55] >> Thanks to you.

[26:56] >> Thank you.

[26:57] >> Very good.

Consciousness is the perceiving power that is aware of thoughts, feelings, and sensations as they come and go. You can observe this directly: notice that you are aware of your thoughts, but you are not the thoughts themselves. Similarly, you can be aware of pain or emotions without being identified as the pain or emotion. Consciousness remains as the witness, unchanged by whatever appears within it.
No. The person and its life continue to function and matter on a practical level. But recognizing yourself as consciousness shifts your relationship to personal problems. You stop believing that your wellbeing depends entirely on personal outcomes. Actions still happen, but they flow from a deeper stability that is not shaken by the ups and downs of the person's life.
Because effort to reach your true self reinforces the belief that the person is the one who will achieve realization. But the person cannot reach what you already are. What you truly are—consciousness itself—is already here, not blocked by the person but simply overlooked because attention habitually flows into personal identification. The shift is a matter of where attention rests, not of the person gaining something.
Individuality remains, but it is understood differently. Each consciousness appears to individuate into unique expressions—what might be called souls, each with its own journey. But the underlying consciousness is singular. Your unique personality and journey are not erased; they are simply seen to be forms that consciousness takes, like waves in the ocean, arising from and returning to the same source.
By observing them without resistance or effort. Notice that thoughts and emotions come and go, while you—the awareness of them—remain. This is not something to achieve; it is already happening. The habit of identifying with thoughts is simply a reflex of attention. As you recognize the consciousness that is aware of these movements, the identification naturally loosens without you having to do anything.
Consciousness may not suffer pain in the sense of being wounded or damaged by it, but the body and person still feel sensations. The difference is that you are not identified as the one to whom pain happens. Pain may be present, but it does not define you or create a sense of personal crisis. You remain as the aware space in which pain occurs.
