Akal Sahai Khalsa, the Founder and CEO of BrightStar, has spent over twenty years immersed in the global consciousness movement. His journey began as the Tour Manager for sacred chant artist Snatam Kaur, a role he held for over a decade. During this time, Akal not only gained invaluable experience in event promotion and artist support but also developed a deep understanding of the unique needs of spiritual communities. These experiences, coupled with his lifelong dedication to Eastern internal arts and healing practices, laid the foundation for what would eventually become BrightStar.
BrightStar was co-founded by Akal’s father, GuruGanesha Khalsa, a revered sacred chant artist and the founder of Spirit Voyage Records. GuruGanesha’s musical legacy and his unwavering commitment to sharing the teachings of sacred music provided the spiritual framework for BrightStar’s mission. Together, Akal and GuruGanesha’s vision for BrightStar was built on the idea that sacred work, in all its forms, deserves a platform that nurtures, amplifies, and connects.
What began as a way to serve spiritual communities by helping them share their work has blossomed into something much greater.
