Healing Retreat
Online
Description
Living from the Inside Out is an online healing retreat led by Geneen Roth, the New York Times bestselling author and teacher known for her work on emotional eating and the relationship with food. It is held online, so you can take part from wherever you are, and it is meant for people who want to step away from the noise of everyday life and look more closely at how they live, feel and treat themselves.
The retreat sits within Geneen Roth's wider body of work, which treats the way we eat as a doorway into something larger than food. If you have read Women Food and God or Love, Finally, or if you are tired of cycles of control, shame and self-judgment around eating, this is a place to practice what those books describe with a teacher who has spent decades doing it.
What to Expect
The retreat is built around the invitation to see clearly: to slow down, look inward and begin to experience yourself in a different way. Geneen's approach is a clear, repeatable practice of bringing attention to what is happening inside, noticing the thoughts, beliefs and habits that shape how we relate to food and to ourselves. It is not about calories, rules or weight loss.
The space is described as one where a shift can happen, and the tone of Geneen's teaching, as readers and colleagues describe it, is warm, honest and often funny as well as deep. Anne Lamott has called her work "beautiful and funny and deep," and Dani Shapiro points to her mix of warmth, wisdom, honesty and powerful self-scrutiny.
About Geneen Roth
Geneen Roth is a New York Times bestselling author and teacher who has spent more than four decades helping people step out of cycles of control, shame and self-judgment around food. Her work began with a question about her own suffering. Years of dieting, struggling and searching led her to see that the way we eat is not about food, but about how we live, how we feel, and how we treat ourselves when no one else is watching.
She has written eleven books, including multiple New York Times bestsellers such as Women Food and God. Her newest book is Love, Finally. She has led workshops and retreats for thousands of students and has appeared on Oprah and Good Morning America.
Before You Go
The retreat takes place online, so there is no travel to arrange. Find a quiet spot where you can give your attention to the practice without interruption. No prior experience with Geneen's work is described as a requirement, and the invitation is open to anyone who wants to look at their relationship with food, and with themselves, more honestly.
