Description
Tuesday Morning Sits is a weekly online meditation gathering led by Caverly Morgan, a spiritual teacher who blends the original spirit of Zen with a modern nondual and relational approach. Held as a livestream, it suits newcomers and long-time practitioners who want to bring meditation into everyday life and deepen their direct experience of awareness. It is donation-based, and no one is turned away for lack of funds.
What to Expect
The sits run on Tuesdays from 9 to 10am Pacific. Each session combines meditation with a facilitated group discussion that is interactive and personal. The focus is on integrating practice into daily life, deepening direct experience of awareness, and embodying realization.
Caverly invites participants to see how suffering is created in their own lives, and offers tools to open, transform, and explore their direct experience of truth. The tone is relational rather than technique-driven, and questions and conversation are part of the hour.
Over the winter, Caverly will be away on retreat and taking time off for four of the Tuesday sessions. Those sessions continue in a community-guided format, with a group check-in and a silent sit, held in the same spirit of presence and shared practice. They are free of charge and open to all, with advance registration. There is no sit on one Tuesday at the end of December.
About Caverly Morgan
Caverly Morgan is a spiritual teacher, nonprofit founder, speaker, and author. Her practice began in 1995 and included eight years of training in a silent Zen monastery. She has been teaching contemplative practice since 2001, and was named one of 2025's powerful women of the mindfulness movement.
She supports people in remembering their true nature, not through more techniques or self-improvement strategies, but through presence, inquiry, and togetherness. She wrote The Heart of Who We Are: Realizing Freedom Together and A Kids Book About Mindfulness. She also founded Peace in Schools, which created the first for-credit mindfulness class in U.S. public high schools, and Realizing Freedom Together. Her work centers on making teachings that lead to liberation accessible to all.
One participant, a neuropsychologist, describes her as a teacher able to weave clear, in-depth wisdom with practical suggestions, with an extraordinary ability to intuit the needs behind people's questions.
Before You Go
The sits are designed for both newcomers and those who want to deepen an established practice, so no prior experience is needed. You join online from wherever you are, and can register for individual classes or choose a package. A drop-in pass lets you pay what you wish. Anyone facing financial hardship who cannot manage the lowest tier is invited to get in touch with the organizers.
