Description
Triumph Over Trauma is a 12-day live-in PTSD recovery program and healing retreat at Camp Courage in Limestone Ridges, Queensland. It is offered at no cost to current and former military personnel, veterans and first responders, and it is run as part of the 4 Aussie Heroes Foundation's work. The program is trauma-informed, combining evidence-based education with hands-on, experiential learning.
Jodi Allen, a clinical nutritionist, counsellor and Trauma Sensitive Yoga practitioner, is the Lead Program Facilitator.
What to Expect
Over twelve days, participants live on site and work through a program built to help them understand the impact of trauma, strengthen coping skills and move toward better health and wellbeing. The aim is a safe, supportive environment in which people can reconnect with themselves, build resilience and develop practical strategies for recovery.
Jodi's teaching draws on her years of facilitating intensive PTSD rehabilitation programs. She explains the connection between the brain, body and nervous system, and gives participants tools they can keep using after they leave. The program covers:
- PTSD psychoeducation
- Nutrition and mental health
- Sleep and trauma recovery
- Exercise physiology
- Trauma-sensitive yoga
- Equine and canine therapies
- Lifestyle medicine
- Post-traumatic growth
- Supporting families and recovery
Trauma-sensitive yoga sits alongside the equine and canine therapies, so learning is not confined to the classroom. The family component recognises that recovery rarely happens in isolation.
About Jodi Allen
Jodi Allen is a practising clinical nutritionist, counsellor, speaker and Trauma Sensitive Yoga practitioner based in Brisbane. Her work is evidence-based and trauma-informed, and it centres on recovery, resilience and performance.

Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional Medicine and a Diploma of Counselling, and she is currently completing a Master of Counselling.
The Setting
The program takes place at Camp Courage in Limestone Ridges, Queensland, where participants stay for the full twelve days. Programs run throughout the year, and places are limited enough that intakes can fill well ahead of time.
Before You Go
The program is open to current and former military personnel, veterans and first responders. No prior experience, fitness level or physical prerequisites are specified. It is delivered in English.
Everything in the program is offered at no cost. Travel to and from Camp Courage is not included, so participants arrange their own way to Limestone Ridges.
