Jodi Allen is a practising clinical nutritionist, counsellor, speaker and Trauma Sensitive Yoga practitioner based in Brisbane, Australia. Her work is evidence-based and trauma-informed, and it centres on recovery, resilience and performance.
Jodi served for 14 years in the Royal Australian Air Force. She says that time showed her how chronic stress, trauma, injury and life transitions can affect both physical and mental health. That experience started her ongoing interest in researching how recovery, resilience and wellbeing can be better supported. She now works with veterans, first responders, organisations and individuals dealing with chronic stress, trauma, post-traumatic stress, moral injury and burnout.
Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional Medicine and a Diploma of Counselling. She is currently completing a Master of Counselling. She is a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Practitioner (RYT350) and an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach trained through IIN New York. She also holds certifications in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, sleep psychology and Mental Health First Aid. She is an Ambassador of Nutrition for Buddy Up Australia.
Jodi is the Lead Program Facilitator for the 4 Aussie Heroes Foundation's Triumph Over Trauma program. It is a 12-day live-in PTSD and mental health rehabilitation program for current and former military personnel, veterans and first responders, held at Camp Courage in Limestone Ridges, Queensland. It combines psychoeducation, nutrition, sleep science, lifestyle medicine and trauma-sensitive yoga with other therapies.
She also gives keynotes, workshops and wellbeing programs for organisations across government, healthcare, construction, community services, defence and industry. Her topics include nutrition and mental health, sleep and recovery, stress and burnout, and gut-brain health. Her stated aim is to turn complex science into practical tools that people can use in everyday life. She also offers individual consultations and guided meditations.
