Healing Retreat
Description
Spring Renewal by the Sea is a women's healing retreat on the coast of Carolina Beach, North Carolina, led by yoga teacher and Reiki Master Teacher Michelle Parmita Voeller of Natural Harmony Healing & Spiritual Fellowship. It is a small-group gathering for women who want to step back, slow down and tend to themselves, held over four days beside the ocean.
The retreat is built around the idea that a retreat is not a vacation but a container: small, intentional and carefully held, with room to exhale. It suits women moving through a transition, those who want to deepen their practice in a guided setting, and anyone who has been saying "I need this" for longer than they can remember.
What to Expect
The days weave together yoga, Reiki, meditation and ceremony with unstructured time, so rest is part of the program rather than an afterthought. The ocean serves as a co-facilitator: the rhythm of the waves, the open horizon and the salt air set the pace. The group is kept small, and the retreat is women-centered, which leaves space for real connection with others on a similar path. Past participants describe the yoga and meditation sessions as enriching for both mind and body, and many speak of the friendships and community that continue after they return home.
Rooms are limited, and the retreat fills with small groups, so those who feel called are encouraged to reach out early.
About Michelle Parmita Voeller
Michelle has taught yoga since 2004. She is a Reiki Master Teacher, a former educator, a yoga studio founder and a retreat leader with more than twenty years of retreat leadership and spiritual facilitation. Her path began in the classroom, with years at Cherry Creek Schools in Colorado, and alongside teaching she felt a pull toward practice, the body and the sacred. In 2006 she opened Harmony Yoga in Denver, a studio she ran for nearly a decade and describes as community, proving ground and home.
Her yoga is classical Hatha and alignment-based, grounded in the teachings of Yoga Master Sri Baba Hari Dass and the eight-limbed path of Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali, including pranayama (breath work) and meditation. Baba Hari Dass gave her the spiritual name "Parmita," meaning Limitless. She is based in Carolina Beach and offers her work both online and in person. Students describe her as a calming, healing presence who creates a safe space for people to rejuvenate and have the retreat experience of their choosing.
The Setting
Carolina Beach sits on the North Carolina coast, and the retreat makes full use of it: ocean-side practice, sea air and the spaciousness of the horizon as an invitation to slow down. Michelle also leads women's retreats in the Colorado mountains and in Nicaragua, and she designs private retreats by consultation, but this gathering is the one held here by the sea.
