Spiritual Gathering
Description
Help on the Path is an evening spiritual gathering at the San Francisco Dharma Collective in San Francisco, California, offered both in person and by live stream. It is presented by the Sacred Stream, the Berkeley-based school for consciousness studies, and is led by Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D., founder of Depth Hypnosis. It suits people on a contemplative or inner path, and those who want a quiet evening of teaching in a Bay Area dharma community.
What to Expect
The gathering runs from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, a ninety-minute evening session. You can attend in the room in San Francisco or join the live stream from wherever you are. In the Sacred Stream's live stream format, the teaching is delivered by video conference at a set time, so those joining online take part together with the group rather than watching a recording.
The Sacred Stream's wider programs draw on shamanic practice, Buddhist psychology, dreamwork, and Depth Hypnosis, and this evening comes from that same body of work. Its title points to the kind of support it offers to people already walking a spiritual path.
About Isa Gucciardi
Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D., is the Founding Director of the Foundation of the Sacred Stream, a non-profit school for consciousness studies in Berkeley, California, founded in 2002. She is the creator of Depth Hypnosis, a therapeutic model, and the author of Coming to Peace.
Her path into this work began early. She spent most of her early years in other countries before moving to the United States as a teenager, and she was struck by how little people around her wanted to talk about death. Reading Elisabeth Kübler-Ross's On Death and Dying in the early seventies came as a relief. Years of volunteering in hospice settings, including the Zen Hospice Project, led her to a view she still holds: everyone grieves in their own way, and the most helpful thing is often to sit quietly and offer a non-judgmental space.
The Place
The in-person gathering takes place at the San Francisco Dharma Collective in San Francisco. The Sacred Stream usually teaches from its own center in Berkeley, so this evening is a chance to meet the community in the city itself.
