Feel-Good Yoga for Hormone Balance: A 30-Minute Iceland Practice

Boho Beautiful
Boho Beautiful
Oct 19, 2026
8 min read
Watch · 7

The camera opens on wildflowers in Iceland, and a voice settles the room before a single pose is taken. "We are here today amidst the blooming wildflowers," the instructor says, introducing a yoga practice for hormonal health that is part of a four-part women's health series. The landscape, she suggests, is rugged and wind-bent, and still it blooms. That image becomes the frame for a half-hour flow that asks the body to do something specific: stimulate the thyroid, wake the adrenal glands, and bring the endocrine system back into a steadier rhythm. This is a close reading of how that sequence is built, what each movement is meant to do according to the teacher, and why the order of the poses matters as much as the poses themselves.

What is this yoga practice for hormonal balance, and where does it come from?

The class comes from the Boho Beautiful Yoga channel and is taught by Juliana Spicoluk, filmed outdoors in Iceland. It is pitched as the second of a sequence in a women's health series, and the description frames the whole thing around the idea of supporting "the natural rhythm of your hormones." The stated goals are modest and physical rather than dramatic: restore balance, feel softer and more energized, and reconnect with what the instructor calls "that inner flow that knows how to heal."

It is worth being precise about what the video itself claims. The instructor explains that the practice is designed to gently stimulate the thyroid gland, which she describes as responsible for many functions in the body, including helping to regulate metabolism. She also says the adrenal glands are activated through the warrior work, and that the twists stimulate the digestive organs. These are the teacher's framing, delivered inside a yoga class. They are not clinical instructions, and the video does not present them as a substitute for medical care. Anyone managing a thyroid or adrenal condition should work with a physician alongside any movement practice.

Why does the practice begin with breath before any movement?

The first several minutes are spent seated on the knees with one hand on the chest and one on the belly. The instructor guides a three-part breath: inhale into the belly, let the breath travel up through the ribs and into the chest, then release in the reverse order, chest, ribs, belly. The cycle repeats at the student's own pace with eyes closed, and the stated purpose is to bring the body into present awareness before any load is placed on it.

This ordering is a central logic of the whole class. Breath is treated as the first instrument. The three-part breath is returned to again at the close, which gives the practice a frame: it begins with the breath moving in and out through the torso, and it ends the same way. In between, the movement is designed to keep that breath connected to the body rather than racing ahead of it.

How do cat-cow and spinal circles prepare the body?

From child's pose the class moves to all fours for a simple cat-cow, arching on the inhale with the gaze lifted and rounding on the exhale with the chin tucked. Then comes the element that gives this warm-up its character: circular motion. The hips and chest travel in slow circles, as large or small as the student wants, with elbows bent where needed. The circle is reversed, then brought back to center.

Circular spinal movement is a simple way to mobilize the whole column before asking it to hold a position. Watch how the instructor repeatedly invites students to make the motion "as big or small as you like." That permission is not a throwaway line. It sets the tone for a practice that refuses to measure success by depth of shape.

What is the thyroid neck sequence actually doing?

The class moves from all fours to downward dog, then walks the feet forward to a rag-doll rock with the elbows clasped and the head and neck left loose. From there the student rolls up to standing, reaches the arms overhead, and then begins the neck work that the instructor ties directly to the thyroid. Interlacing the fingers and placing the knuckles under the chin, the student lifts the elbows on the inhale and presses lightly into the chin while throwing the head back on the exhale, stretching the front of the neck.

The repetition is the point. The teacher calls out the sequence several times, emphasizing that the front of the neck is what is being opened. It is one of the few places in the video where the anatomy is named explicitly, and it shows how the instructor thinks about intent: a specific area of the body, a specific pressure, a specific breath pattern, held steady.

How does the warrior variation target the adrenal glands?

The flow then folds forward, steps back into a low lunge, and opens into a sequence of twists and warriors that carries most of the practice's energy. The instructor describes a gentle twist that stimulates the digestive organs, followed by a warrior two variation on the front knee. The back arm reaches behind the body and rests on top of the kidneys, where the adrenal glands sit. The student then taps the front hand against the back one, which the teacher describes as waking up that energy and helping to release what she calls stagnant prana.

From there, the warrior becomes a more open variation. The front knee extends, the back arm sweeps down toward the floor for a side-body stretch, and the front ankle is grasped and drawn toward the inner thigh. This is where balance enters. The instructor offers a tree-like option where the top arm reaches toward the back of the mat, and she repeatedly allows students to choose the depth of the reach. Warrior work is the most physically demanding part of the early sequence, and the video treats it that way, sustaining the holds and giving clear permission to drop to the elbows or knees if needed.

"This practice be your invitation to soften, to energize, and to reconnect with that inner flow that knows how to heal."

— Juliana Spicoluk, opening remarks in the Boho Beautiful Yoga video

Why does eagle pose appear in a hormone-focused class?

Eagle pose arrives standing, with the legs wrapped and the arms intertwined at the elbows and wrists, palms pressed together. The instructor asks the student to keep that connection while stepping the top leg around the bottom, finding balance through the breath. The description of the full video lists eagle pose by name, and in the transcript it is held and repeated, with additional rounds called out for students to keep the connection. The emphasis is on steadiness rather than on the shape itself.

In a practice built around the endocrine system, eagle pose does a particular job: it asks the body to hold a balance with one side wrapped over the other while the breath keeps moving. That combination of effort and steadiness is the kind of tension the sequence keeps returning to, from the early warriors to the late seated twist.

How does the practice wind down?

After the standing work, the class moves through a seated spinal twist, a lying-down reset, and a set of heart openers before closing. The description promises that the practice ends "with heart openers and a calming three-part breath," and the transcript shows the instructor returning to the three-part pattern as she brings the room back to stillness. The closing is gentle: a few minutes of natural breath, a moment of gratitude for the practice, and a return to the original invitation to feel reconnected.

The winding-down is where the video's structure becomes clear. The class does not end on the peak of the warriors or the effort of the eagle. It descends through twists and openings and returns to the breath it began with. For a viewer who has been counting rounds of neck stretches or holds in warrior, that return is the part that finally lets the practice settle.

Where to go from here

If this video is your first encounter with a women's health series on yoga, start where the instructor starts: the three-part breath, the circular spine, and the neck work, all done slowly. Repeat the sequence on separate days rather than trying to hold every warrior in one session. Notice how the breath changes when you move from the neck stretch into the warrior tap over the back. Pay attention to the phrase the instructor returns to, "as big or small as you like," which is a useful rule for any yoga practice.

For a broader view, look for the other parts of the four-part series the description mentions, and read the video's own description on the Boho Beautiful Yoga channel. If you have a thyroid or adrenal condition, bring this sequence to your clinician before making it a routine. The practice is built to be felt, not forced, and that is the most reliable guide the video offers.

[0:32] >> Welcome to beautiful Iceland. We are

[0:35] here today amidst the blooming lupid

[0:36] flowers [music] with a yoga practice for

[0:38] hormonal health. This class is part of

[0:41] our four-part women's health [music]

[0:43] series designed to honor the intricate

[0:45] intelligence of your body and support

[0:48] the [music] natural rhythm of your

[0:49] hormones.

[0:53] >> [music]

[0:53] >> In today's practice, we'll explore

[0:55] movement, breath, and stillness to

[0:57] gently [music] stimulate the thyroid

[0:59] gland, activate the adrenal glands, and

[1:01] restore balance to the endocrine system.

[1:05] Through intentional asas, guided breath

[1:07] work, and mindful awareness will invite

[1:10] a return to harmony [music] within the

[1:12] body, mind, and your spirit. [singing]

[1:15] Filmed here [music] amidst these

[1:17] Icelandic wild flowers, this landscape

[1:20] reminds us that even in the most rugged

[1:22] terrain, [music]

[1:23] beauty and balance are always possible.

[1:26] So let this practice be your invitation

[1:28] to soften, to energize, [music] and to

[1:31] reconnect with that inner flow that

[1:33] knows how to heal. With that, once

[1:36] [music] you have everything you need,

[1:38] let's begin.

[2:14] My love, [music]

[2:19] this [singing] is the [music] way

[2:25] for [singing] us to grow. [music]

[2:31] Thank you so much for joining me here

[2:33] today for this practice.

[2:35] We're going to get [music] started today

[2:37] by finding a comfortable seated position

[2:39] along the back of your mat. So go ahead

[2:42] come over to your knees. Sit on top of

[2:44] your heels.

[2:46] Starting with a pranayyama practice by

[2:49] placing one hand on your chest, the

[2:51] other on your belly. Three-part breath.

[2:54] We're going to inhale into the belly and

[2:57] then allow the breath to travel upward

[2:59] towards the heart [music] through the

[3:01] chest and then releasing out of the

[3:04] chest, the ribs and then the belly. And

[3:08] again just welcoming this movement,

[3:11] energetic motion of the breath as it

[3:13] comes up.

[3:15] And then releasing it out of the chest,

[3:17] ribs, and belly.

[3:21] Inhale it again. Belly, ribs, chest.

[3:27] Exhaling, chest, ribs, and belly.

[3:33] Continuing your own pace a few more

[3:35] times.

[3:37] keeping your eyes closed and just

[3:39] allowing this gentle movement to bring

[3:41] you [music] into a present awareness.

[3:44] Once you're done, feel free to release

[3:46] your arms and reach them up towards the

[3:49] sky. And then exhale, take your arms all

[3:52] the way down and take your child's pose.

[3:56] Releasing your forehead onto the mat,

[3:58] start to roll forward over to all fours.

[4:01] Let's begin with a simple cat cow.

[4:04] arching the back. Look up. Exhale. Round

[4:07] the spine and tuck your chin to chest.

[4:11] Inhale. Look up.

[4:15] Exhale. Chin to chest.

[4:19] Inhale. Look up.

[4:22] And exhale. Chin to chest.

[4:26] Once again, opening up. Allow the belly

[4:29] to drop.

[4:31] And then round through the spine and

[4:33] release.

[4:34] Now let's add some circular motion into

[4:36] the spine. Starting to move your hips

[4:39] and your chest in a circular motion.

[4:42] Making this movement as big or small as

[4:44] you like.

[4:47] Bending your elbows if you have to. And

[4:50] then reversing the circle the other way.

[4:54] Move it around. Very nice.

[4:59] Nice big circular motion.

[5:07] Wonderful. Come back to center. Take a

[5:10] deep breath in. Go ahead and tuck your

[5:12] toes under.

[5:15] And then shift all of your weight back,

[5:18] extending [music] through the shoulders.

[5:20] Keep your knees bent.

[5:23] Wonderful. Now you're going to shift

[5:25] [music] your weight forward and just

[5:26] allow the hips to drop slightly to the

[5:28] front and then move all the way back

[5:31] with your knees bent.

[5:34] Nice. Come forward again

[5:37] and push your weight back.

[5:41] From here, let's go ahead extend one leg

[5:43] at a time, walking out your

[5:45] downward-facing dog, pressing the

[5:47] [music] opposite heels into the mat.

[5:51] Wonderful. And then just finding

[5:54] stillness for [music] a moment in your

[5:56] downward dog. When you're ready, take a

[5:59] deep breath in. Really open up through

[6:01] the sternum here. Spread your fingers

[6:04] wide. Tailbone points up to the sky.

[6:08] And then once you're ready, go ahead,

[6:09] lift your heels. And then begin to walk

[6:12] your feet towards the front of your mat.

[6:16] Walking to the very front, feet [music]

[6:18] together,

[6:19] bending your knees for a little support

[6:21] of your spine. Grab the opposite elbows

[6:24] and just start to rock left and right,

[6:27] letting go of any tension in your spine,

[6:32] allowing your head and neck to be super

[6:34] loose and fluid.

[6:38] Wonderful.

[6:40] bending your knees and then start to

[6:42] roll up nice and gentle.

[6:45] Opening your hands, finding your balance

[6:48] here for a moment,

[6:51] grounding through the feet as you reach

[6:54] your arms up to the sky. Then as you

[6:57] exhale, bring your hands in front of

[6:59] you. Interlace all fingers and then

[7:02] place your [music] knuckles under your

[7:04] chin. On your inhalation, you're going

[7:06] to lift your elbows up as high as you

[7:08] can. Then, as you exhale, press slightly

[7:11] into your chin as you [music] throw your

[7:13] head back, following this movement.

[7:16] Inhale, bring your elbows up. Exhale,

[7:20] let it go.

[7:22] Inhale, arms [music] and elbows up.

[7:26] Exhale, press into the chin lightly as

[7:29] you stretch the front of your neck.

[7:31] Starting to [music] activate the thyroid

[7:33] gland here.

[7:35] Exhale.

[7:38] Beautiful. Now release. Reach your arms

[7:40] up to the sky. And then as you exhale,

[7:43] start to fold all the way towards the

[7:45] front into your forward fold.

[7:48] Take your time. Inhale. Come up to

[7:50] halfway.

[7:52] Then as you exhale, bend both knees and

[7:54] step your left leg all the way back,

[7:56] [music]

[7:56] dropping your left knee to the mat,

[7:58] reaching both of your arms up to the sky

[8:00] in a low lunge.

[8:03] Inhale.

[8:04] Intertwine your elbows. Eagle arms here.

[8:08] See if you can connect the palms of your

[8:10] hands together,

[8:13] finding your balance, finding your

[8:14] breath.

[8:16] And then release your arms.

[8:19] Reach them back up to the sky. And then

[8:20] bend your elbows. From here, connecting

[8:23] your thumb and your pinky finger [music]

[8:25] together. Press your thumbs towards the

[8:28] chin. Drop your elbows onto the front

[8:30] knee. And just holding here for a

[8:33] moment. Again, pressing that chin

[8:34] [music] with your thumbs. If you like to

[8:36] go a little deeper, see if you can lift

[8:38] your back knee off the mat. Once again,

[8:41] we are stimulating the thyroid gland,

[8:43] which also helps us regulate our

[8:45] metabolism. The thyroid gland is

[8:48] responsible [music] for so many

[8:50] functions within our body and our

[8:52] health. Continue [music] to press as you

[8:55] drop your knee down if that feels more

[8:56] comfortable.

[9:00] Release your toes and then extend your

[9:02] elbows back up to the sky in a low

[9:04] lunge. Inhale.

[9:07] Exhale. Drop your left hand down and

[9:09] reach your right arm [music] up to the

[9:10] sky in a gentle twist.

[9:14] It's stimulating [music] the digestive

[9:15] organs here as you continue to reach up

[9:18] to the sky with one arm. Look up. Deep

[9:22] breath in.

[9:24] And then exhale. [music] Curve the arms

[9:26] pivoting on the bottom knee opening into

[9:29] warrior two on your knee. [music] Back

[9:31] arm comes behind your back. And now

[9:33] you're going to bring your front arm and

[9:35] just tap lightly onto the other hand.

[9:37] Bring it up and tap the hand. So that

[9:40] arm that's behind your back, it's on

[9:42] [music] top of our kidneys. And what

[9:43] we're doing here is just waking up that

[9:45] energy. We're activating the adrenal

[9:48] glands, which [music] also helps release

[9:51] any stagnant pronic energy.

[9:55] Reach. Hold here now. And then see if

[9:58] you can begin to reach all the way back

[10:00] with that front arm. Extending the front

[10:03] knee for a deeper [music] stretch.

[10:07] Reaching into that peaceful warrior

[10:08] variation. See if you can drop that back

[10:10] arm now all the way to the ground and

[10:12] reach even further.

[10:15] Opening and releasing this area of your

[10:17] body, the side body.

[10:21] From here, now reach forward. Grab that

[10:24] front ankle and see if you can bring

[10:26] that foot to the inside of your thigh.

[10:30] Holding it here. Or if you like to try

[10:33] and balance, you can release your top

[10:35] arm and reach [music] it back up towards

[10:37] the sky or towards the back of your mat.

[10:41] It's a tree pose variation, but we're

[10:43] staying on our knee.

[10:47] And again, if you like a deeper release,

[10:49] keep reaching towards the back of your

[10:51] mat with your arm. Beautiful.

[10:58] Release. And now bring the foot in front

[11:01] of your knee and sit back over into your

[11:03] seated position. [music] Twisting

[11:06] towards the right knee as you hug it.

[11:08] Right arm reaches right next to your

[11:10] side body. Look over your right

[11:12] shoulder.

[11:14] Seated spinal twist. Find your breath.

[11:17] Inhale

[11:21] and exhale.

[11:24] Slowly come back to center.

[11:27] And then from here come up to your hips.

[11:29] Come into navasana and see if you can

[11:31] take eagle legs.

[11:36] Holding it here on your hands. [music]

[11:39] Or if you like to make it a little

[11:40] easier, drop down to your elbows.

[11:43] And then holding it here.

[11:48] Awesome.

[11:50] Flex [music] both feet. Release. And now

[11:53] take that right foot to the inside of

[11:55] your left thigh. Left leg is extended as

[11:58] you reach your arms up. And then with

[12:00] your exhalation, go ahead and take eagle

[12:02] arms once again. And then take your body

[12:05] forward and down towards your foot. I

[12:08] like to actually place my hands in

[12:10] between my two toes of my foot. Again,

[12:15] that just gives me a moment to rest my

[12:17] hands onto something, but you don't have

[12:18] to do that. Find what works for you.

[12:21] Simply just allow yourself to breathe in

[12:24] this posture.

[12:26] Closing your eyes and with each

[12:28] exhalation,

[12:29] giving your body the opportunity to

[12:31] relax.

[12:33] If keeping your arms in an eagle

[12:35] position is too much, go ahead and

[12:36] release them and just [music] place them

[12:38] by your side.

[12:40] Let's take one more deep breath in. Then

[12:43] release your hands as you exhale.

[12:46] [music] Arms up. Both legs. Now extend

[12:49] to the front of your mat. And then go

[12:52] ahead and release back down into your

[12:54] seated forward fold. Holding on to your

[12:57] ankles or your feet. This time allowing

[13:00] your entire body to release over top of

[13:02] your legs. Forehead towards your knees.

[13:05] Making sure that you're folding at your

[13:07] hips.

[13:09] Bending the knees if necessary.

[13:13] Releasing the hands and reach the

[13:15] [music] arms back up. Take the arms

[13:18] behind your back. Press into the hands

[13:20] as you lift your hips. Throw your head

[13:22] back. Squeeze your glutes. Open up.

[13:31] Wonderful. Slowly come back down.

[13:34] [music] Crossing your ankles in front

[13:37] and then meet me over into your all

[13:39] fours position. One more time. Tuck your

[13:42] toes. Exhale. Push back into that bent

[13:45] knee downward dog. Bring your hips down.

[13:49] Lift up. And then drop to your knees

[13:52] with your hips slightly forward.

[13:55] And one more time. Extend. And this time

[13:58] extending both knees coming into your

[14:00] downward-facing dog. Finding your

[14:02] breath, welcoming a gentle u breath if

[14:05] that feels nice for you.

[14:09] Exhale out.

[14:12] Inhale. Lift the heels and begin to walk

[14:16] your feet towards the front of your mat.

[14:18] Coming all the way to the front.

[14:21] Releasing into your forward fold.

[14:22] Bending your knees and start to roll up

[14:25] to standing.

[14:27] Take your time. Once you're up, reach

[14:30] both arms up to the sky. And then

[14:33] exhale. Just simply placing your hands

[14:35] in front of your third eye chakra,

[14:38] [music] center of your intuition,

[14:40] closing your eyes. And just connect to

[14:42] the breath for a moment. Allowing this

[14:45] breath to connect you to your body as

[14:48] you reach your arms up to the sky.

[14:51] Release the arms. Exhale. Come back into

[14:53] forward [music] fold. Inhale halfway.

[14:57] Exhale. Go ahead and step your right leg

[14:59] now all the way back. [music] Drop your

[15:01] right knee. Arms reach up into your low

[15:04] lunge.

[15:05] And then from here, go ahead and take

[15:07] your eagle arms. Bring one elbow over

[15:10] the other. Interlace [music] your

[15:12] wrists, palms together.

[15:15] Hold it here for a moment. Allowing the

[15:17] hips to come down. So you're feeling a

[15:19] nice stretch through your hip flexor,

[15:20] your soass. And then release the arms.

[15:24] and then bending the elbows with the

[15:26] thumbs and pinky fingers [music]

[15:28] connected. Pressing your thumbs

[15:30] underneath your chin, elbows resting on

[15:33] top of your front knee. [music]

[15:35] Holding here, stimulating your thyroid

[15:38] gland. If you like to go a little deeper

[15:40] and challenge your balance, lift the

[15:42] back knee off the mat and hold in a high

[15:44] lunge.

[15:46] Otherwise, you can remain with your back

[15:48] knee grounded on the floor.

[15:51] Beautiful. Hold here for another deep

[15:54] [music] breath.

[15:59] And then as you exhale,

[16:02] drop your knee back down, release

[16:05] [music] your hands, reach them back up

[16:07] to the sky. Inhale.

[16:10] Exhale, drop your right hand down. Left

[16:12] arm reaches [music] up into a gentle

[16:13] twist.

[16:16] Hold it here.

[16:21] Awesome.

[16:24] And then release back up. Pivoting on

[16:26] that back knee. Take your [music] back

[16:29] arm now and bring it behind your back.

[16:32] Placing the back of your hand on your

[16:34] kidney. [music] Reaching your front arm

[16:36] and then doing a little tap of the

[16:38] hands.

[16:40] Reach. [music] And then tap front hand

[16:42] to back hand. Reach. So feeling that

[16:45] vibration and stimulation [music]

[16:47] into your kidneys, activating the

[16:50] adrenal glands.

[16:52] [music]

[16:55] Good. Hold it here and then reach back

[16:58] into a peaceful warrior variation.

[17:02] If you like, feel free [music] to extend

[17:03] the front knee.

[17:05] And then if you want to go deeper, drop

[17:07] the back arm down towards the mat and go

[17:10] a little further [music] back to the

[17:12] back of your mat with that top arm.

[17:15] Lengthening through [music] the side

[17:16] body.

[17:18] Taking a deep breath in. And then

[17:21] exhale. Grab that front ankle. Placing

[17:23] [music] the foot to the inside of your

[17:26] inner thigh. Coming into a tree position

[17:29] variation,

[17:31] reaching a top arm back up towards

[17:33] [music] the back of your mat or up to

[17:34] the sky.

[17:37] Hold it here. Take a deep breath in

[17:41] and exhale out.

[17:47] Inhale again.

[17:52] Exhale slowly release.

[17:56] planting the foot down and then dropping

[17:58] down to your seated position.

[18:01] Take a big hug of that left knee as you

[18:04] look over your left shoulder.

[18:08] Feel free to press your elbow into the

[18:10] knee as you twist.

[18:14] Inhale

[18:17] and exhale. Release.

[18:21] Come down. And now let's take our

[18:23] navasana or boat pose with the eagle leg

[18:26] variation. So see if you can intertwine

[18:29] your ankles here.

[18:32] Drop down to your elbows and forearms

[18:35] and throw your head back if that feels

[18:37] good. Or if you like to continue to

[18:40] challenge yourself and find the balance,

[18:41] you can keep your hands grounded on the

[18:43] mat and bring your chest a little

[18:46] higher.

[18:50] Wonderful. And now let's release. Bring

[18:53] the feet down. Come on up to your hands.

[18:56] Release the eagle legs. Placing your

[18:58] left foot to the inside of your right

[19:00] thigh. Readjusting yourself. And then

[19:03] reaching with both arms up to the sky.

[19:05] Take your eagle arms. And then come

[19:08] forward back into that forward fold.

[19:11] Resting your hands now in between your

[19:13] big toe and next toe. If that feels

[19:16] comfortable, of course. You can also

[19:18] just keep your arms hovered. Or you can

[19:21] completely release the eagle arm

[19:23] position and just keep your hands by

[19:24] your side,

[19:26] closing your eyes and just really

[19:28] focusing on the breath, allowing the

[19:30] breath to be your guide and letting go

[19:33] of that tension.

[19:36] Letting go of any resistance,

[19:38] any negative energy, any difficult,

[19:41] heavy energy,

[19:44] let it go with your breath as you bring

[19:47] your body back up. Now reach your arms

[19:50] up, extending both legs. And exhale,

[19:53] [music] come back forward into your

[19:55] seated forward fold. Flexing your feet

[19:57] and allowing your forehead to release on

[19:59] top of your knees. Closing your eyes

[20:02] once again and just focusing on the

[20:05] inhalation

[20:07] and the exhalation.

[20:11] Inhale

[20:14] and exhale. Reach your arms back up.

[20:18] Release it. Bring your hands back and

[20:20] lift your hips all the way up as you

[20:22] throw your head back.

[20:24] Deep breath in

[20:29] and exhale. Come back down. Bend your

[20:33] knees. Cross your ankles. Come on over

[20:35] to your hands and knees position. One

[20:37] more time.

[20:39] Deep breath in. Exhale. [music] Tuck

[20:42] your toes and lift up into

[20:44] downward-facing dog. Extending your

[20:47] knees slowly if that's comfortable for

[20:49] you. Keeping your fingers open and

[20:52] spread.

[20:54] Inhale.

[20:57] Then when you're ready for your exhale,

[20:59] lift [music] the heels and begin to walk

[21:02] forward towards the front of your mat.

[21:06] Release your hands. Release your head.

[21:09] Take a deep breath. and then slowly come

[21:11] on up to standing.

[21:14] Reaching your arms back up to the sky as

[21:16] you inhale.

[21:18] Then as you exhale, releasing your hands

[21:21] back over to that third eye. Taking this

[21:24] moment of connection, reflection,

[21:27] connecting to your breath. As you

[21:29] release the arms, bending your knees,

[21:32] reach the arms up. Then from here, we're

[21:35] going to bend both knees and come into a

[21:38] full eagle pose. crossing left knee over

[21:41] right, [music]

[21:42] intertwine your elbows and wrists and

[21:45] then come down. Now, if taking a full

[21:47] ankle intertwining position is a little

[21:50] bit difficult, you can simply keep your

[21:53] left knee crossed over right and then

[21:54] just rest your toes on the floor.

[21:57] Depending on how you feel, I'd like you

[21:59] to come as deep as you can. Now, making

[22:01] sure you're keeping your elbows and your

[22:03] knees in one linear alignment.

[22:10] Finding your breath, finding your focus.

[22:13] Extend and release. Keep your arms

[22:15] interlaced. And then step your top leg

[22:18] back. Opening your feet into goddess

[22:21] squats.

[22:23] Bending both knees. And extend back up

[22:26] for one. See if you can maintain that

[22:28] eagle arm position.

[22:31] Bring it down. And three. Two more.

[22:36] Good. Last one. Come on down. I want you

[22:39] to hold. Pull your navl into the spine.

[22:41] Engaging through your core. Release the

[22:44] arms and just open them up to the sky.

[22:46] That full goddess powerful squat.

[22:51] Really opening yourself up to the world,

[22:53] to the universe, gaining all that power

[22:55] and strength that you deserve. Extending

[22:58] your knees. Now [music] take the other

[23:00] direction now of your eagle arms. So if

[23:02] your left elbow was on top, now bring it

[23:05] underneath. and then shift your weight

[23:07] towards the back of your mat. Bring your

[23:09] right knee up now and take your eagle

[23:12] pose on the other side. So now we're

[23:14] facing the back of the mat and the other

[23:17] knee is on top of the bottom. Arms

[23:20] staying interconnected in your eagle

[23:22] pose. Get as low as you can. Really feel

[23:26] this restriction. [music]

[23:28] And then we're going to open that

[23:30] restriction and bring more fresh

[23:32] oxygenated blood into all those internal

[23:34] organs.

[23:36] It's a beautiful posture to stimulate so

[23:38] much internally.

[23:41] Bring your right knee up. Step back

[23:44] towards the front of your mat. Continue

[23:46] to use the length of your mat. Inhale.

[23:48] Exhale. Another [music] five reps of

[23:50] your goddess squats. One. Bend your

[23:52] knees. And two.

[23:56] And three. So, really getting that fresh

[23:58] blood flow moving. Four. Nice oxygen

[24:01] pumping through your heart. Now, let's

[24:03] hold. Open up [music] those arms.

[24:07] Maybe take your jana mudra now. Index

[24:09] and thumb [music] together. And place

[24:11] your hands on top of your knees. Allow

[24:13] those knees to open. Allow your chest to

[24:15] open. Feel free to close your eyes if

[24:17] you need to keep that [music] connection

[24:18] internally.

[24:20] Finding your breath. Inhale.

[24:24] Exhale. Extend [music] your knees. And

[24:27] then bring your toes inward. Heels out.

[24:31] Exhale. Begin to release your body all

[24:33] the way down into your widelegged

[24:35] forward fold.

[24:38] Beautiful release. You can [music] rest

[24:40] your forehead down or grab the ankles.

[24:44] Just feeling this nice decompression

[24:46] here. It's nice gentle inversion.

[24:52] Inhale

[24:59] and exhale.

[25:06] finding your breath. Inhale

[25:11] and exhale. Let's slowly extend your

[25:13] arms

[25:15] and bring yourself up,

[25:18] reaching arms up to the sky. One more

[25:21] time.

[25:23] and then placing your hands at your

[25:25] heart [music] center as you pivot and

[25:26] look to the front of your mat and

[25:28] stepping your feet together front of

[25:31] your mat. Inhale, let's reach both arms

[25:34] back up to the sky. Then exhale, bow

[25:37] down and fold forward into your forward

[25:39] fold.

[25:42] Inhale, halfway lengthen. On your

[25:45] exhale, take two steps back. And we're

[25:47] going to come into a high plank

[25:49] position.

[25:53] dropping your knees down onto the mat

[25:57] and then bending your elbows, dropping

[25:59] your chest and chin and then sliding

[26:02] forward,

[26:04] releasing the feet and come onto your

[26:06] elbows and forearms into sphinx pose

[26:08] with [music] the wrists and palms of

[26:11] your hands open up to the sky. Just a

[26:14] nice opening of the heart center. Feel

[26:16] free to close your eyes and welcome a

[26:18] deep breath into the body.

[26:21] Welcome a deep breath into the heart

[26:23] center receiving beautiful healing

[26:25] energy through the palms of your hands

[26:27] as you inhale

[26:29] and then exhale. Bring the palms of your

[26:32] hands together. Holding it here in a

[26:34] prayer pose if you like.

[26:38] And then release your hands. Press into

[26:40] the hands. We're going to slowly lift

[26:42] ourselves a little higher. Coming into

[26:45] upward-facing dog. Lifting your thighs

[26:48] off the mat. Inhale.

[26:52] On your next exhale, bend your knees and

[26:55] come back all the way in child's pose.

[27:01] Inhale.

[27:03] Just find that breath. Start to slow

[27:05] everything down. Exhale out.

[27:09] Inhale again.

[27:13] And exhale slowly come up to seated.

[27:18] reaching your arms up.

[27:21] When you're ready, come up to your

[27:22] knees.

[27:24] Open up your knees about hipwidth apart.

[27:29] And then what I want you to do is take

[27:30] your hands onto your sacrum. Push the

[27:33] hips forward and taking your camel pose.

[27:37] Staying here. Or if you'd like to really

[27:39] deepen it, go ahead and grab your heels

[27:42] and bring your hips even further forward

[27:44] as you drop your head back.

[27:47] Deep breath in.

[27:50] [music]

[27:51] Exhale out.

[27:53] Hands come back onto your sacrum.

[27:57] Sit back onto your heels. Bring your

[27:59] knees together and take your counter

[28:02] pose of a child's pose.

[28:06] Inhale.

[28:09] And then exhale. Shift your weight over

[28:11] to one side. Swing your feet forward.

[28:14] Maybe take a little scoot to the front

[28:15] of your mat so you have lots of space

[28:17] behind you. Reach your arms forward and

[28:21] then start to release vertebrae by

[28:23] vertebra all the way down onto your mat.

[28:27] Bringing your knees into your chest.

[28:29] Give yourself a nice hug. Maybe a gentle

[28:32] rock side to side. Massaging your lower

[28:35] back.

[28:38] Wonderful. And then crossing left knee

[28:40] over right.

[28:43] Drop your foot down and taking our

[28:45] spinal [music] twist. Allow both knees

[28:47] to fall to your right as your left arm

[28:49] extends and you look over your left

[28:50] shoulder.

[28:52] Taking a deep breath in

[28:56] and exhale out.

[29:02] Another deep breath in

[29:08] and exhale. Wonderful. Come to center.

[29:12] Let's switch legs. Same thing now. The

[29:15] other leg and knee comes over. Allow

[29:18] both knees to fall as your right arm

[29:19] reaches towards the back. Look over your

[29:22] right shoulder

[29:25] and breathe.

[29:30] This is a moment where you can close

[29:31] your eyes and just really pay attention

[29:34] to your breath, to your own heart

[29:37] beating in your chest.

[29:41] Beautiful. Come back to center and then

[29:44] extending [music] both legs out. Place

[29:46] your hands underneath your glutes and

[29:49] then press into the elbows as you lift

[29:52] and open up through the chest into your

[29:54] fish pose. Making sure that there's no

[29:57] weight along the top of your head.

[30:00] All of the weight is distributed evenly

[30:02] between your elbows and forearms.

[30:06] Now, when you're ready to release, bring

[30:08] your chin down, drop down, and just

[30:11] release the hands that are underneath

[30:12] you, right beside you. Place the feet

[30:16] together into sabatakanasana,

[30:19] recline butterfly pose. Placing one hand

[30:23] onto your chest, the other onto your

[30:24] belly. We're going to close off our

[30:26] practice today. Same way we started with

[30:29] a [music] threepart breath pranayyama.

[30:31] Welcoming with the inhalation the breath

[30:34] into the [music] belly into the ribs

[30:36] into the chest and then exhaling out out

[30:40] of the chest [music] the ribs and then

[30:42] the belly.

[30:45] A beautiful way to connect to our

[30:48] breath,

[30:49] to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous

[30:52] system,

[30:54] signaling your body and your mind to

[30:57] relax,

[30:59] to release,

[31:02] to let go.

[31:06] Setting an intention to exhale all the

[31:09] heaviness out of your body now. So feel

[31:12] that breath leaving out of your chest,

[31:16] your ribs, and your belly

[31:19] as you allow yourself to become heavier

[31:22] and heavier.

[31:24] Whenever you like, you can release your

[31:26] hands from your chest and belly and just

[31:27] simply rest them along the side of your

[31:29] body, pausing the video if necessary to

[31:32] extend it. Otherwise, if you'd like to

[31:35] close off this practice, [music] then

[31:37] meet your arms above your head. Extend

[31:39] your legs,

[31:41] roll over to your side, and then meet me

[31:44] in a seated position with your feet

[31:45] crossed in front of you, anywhere along

[31:47] your mat.

[31:50] Take the time that you need.

[31:53] And then whenever you're ready,

[31:56] palms can stay open, hands rested

[31:58] [music] on the knees,

[32:00] your eyes closed. Let's just welcome a

[32:02] gentle natural breath [music] through

[32:04] the nose,

[32:07] a gentle exhalation

[32:09] out of the mouth.

[32:16] To close off, we're going to reach your

[32:18] arms up to the sky.

[32:23] Exhale. Bring that beautiful, calm, and

[32:26] loving energy back down onto your heart

[32:29] center.

[32:34] taking [music] this opportunity to bow

[32:35] down to your own heart, to yourself, and

[32:38] gratitude.

[32:40] Gratitude [music] for your practice and

[32:42] for your dedication to your health and

[32:44] to your well-being.

[32:46] From my heart to yours, thank you so

[32:47] much for joining me here today. All my

[32:50] love. Namaste.

Frequently Asked Questions

This 30-minute practice from Boho Beautiful Yoga, taught by Juliana Spicoluk and filmed in Iceland, is built to support the natural rhythm of the hormones through breath, gentle neck stretches, warrior variations, and a closing breath sequence. The instructor frames it as part of a four-part women's health series. It is best treated as a movement practice alongside, not in place of, medical care.
The instructor identifies the neck sequence as the thyroid work: interlacing the fingers under the chin, lifting the elbows on the inhale, and pressing lightly into the chin while throwing the head back on the exhale. She also repeats a similar chin-press with the thumbs during the low lunge with the eagle arms. She says this helps the thyroid gland, which she links to metabolism.
The instructor places the back arm behind the body so the hand rests on top of the kidneys, where the adrenal glands sit, and then taps the front hand against it. She describes this as waking up the energy in that area and releasing stagnant prana. The warrior variations that follow add balance and side-body stretching.
The three-part breath has the student place one hand on the chest and one on the belly, inhale into the belly, then move the breath up through the ribs and into the chest. On the exhale the sequence reverses: chest, ribs, belly. The instructor uses it at the start and close of the practice to bring the body into present awareness.
The video repeatedly gives options: students can make circles smaller, bend the elbows, drop to the knees or elbows, or reach less far in the tree-like balance. The sequence moves from seated breath to all fours to standing and back down, so beginners can follow with the pace and modifications the instructor offers. A steady pace and attention to the breath matter more than depth.
Eagle pose asks the body to balance with one limb wrapped over another while keeping the breath moving, which the sequence uses as a steadiness challenge after the warriors. The description lists eagle pose among the core poses of the practice. The instructor encourages students to keep the connection through several rounds.
The video is framed for women who want to support hormonal balance and feel more energized, and the instructor makes the thyroid and adrenal claims within a yoga class rather than as medical advice. Anyone with a diagnosed thyroid or adrenal condition should consult their doctor before adopting a new routine. The neck and warrior movements can be modified or skipped based on how the body responds.
