The Best Entry Point: "Bass Ritual"

Start with the single "Bass Ritual," released March 13, 2026. It shows Bloomurian's core method in compact form: heavy low end wrapped in ritual framing. Bloomurian is the project of Robin Liepman, known as Bloom, a producer, DJ and mentor from California who now lives in Colorado. Hear this track first and you'll know quickly whether the rest is for you.

Where to Go Next

"Bass Ritual Remixes Vol 2" (December 2025, five tracks) shows how the same material changes in different hands. Listen to it second, while the original is fresh.

"Yearning (Liquid Bloom & Bloomurian Remix)" is the doorway into the collaborative side, where Bloom reshapes another artist's work. Much of the catalog is remixes and revibes, so this is a good way to understand the project.

"Embers of a Forgotten Prayer (Revibed)" (April 3, 2026, eight tracks) is the best longer listen. It covers several moods in one sitting and is the largest body of work in the catalog.

If you want the newest direction, finish with "Ausangate," the June 2026 single.

What to Expect

Expect layers: Psy-Dub delays and reverb, World Bass low end, Trip-Hop drum patterns, Trap hits and Glitchy edits, often in the same piece. The pacing doesn't follow a steady pulse. Fans describe it as a wave, and a track or set can move from dark and dirty to light, vibrant and uplifting without warning.

Live, Bloom often plays electric guitar and a shovel slide-guitar over the electronics, and live instrumentalists and vocalists sometimes join him. He reads the room and steers the set, so a live event can differ from the recordings. He DJs ecstatic dances, concerts, festivals and retreats, and has toured for a full month opening for Dirtwire.

Common Beginner Misunderstandings

Treating the catalog as an album discography. It's built from singles and remixes. Think of it as a sampler, not a sequence with a single arc.

Reading it as meditation or yoga music. Nothing in the catalog is labeled that way. The project talks about ecstatic dance and movement medicine, so it suits moving bodies more than quiet sitting. Anyone choosing tracks for yoga or ceremony should preview them in full, since the dynamics can shift sharply.

Taking the marketing language as neutral description. "Face-melting, heart-opening" is the project's own phrasing of its intent. It's also a fair warning: the music can be loud, dense and abrasive, which is hard going if you're sensitive to heavy bass.

Expecting a faithful account of one tradition. No formal spiritual lineage or teacher is named in Bloom's public materials. The work belongs to a movement-culture lineage: ecstatic dance, World Bass, Trip-Hop and Psy-Dub. It blends freely, so purists of traditional world music may find it borrows more than it preserves.

Expecting one genre. If you want consistent minimal techno or steady ambient, the constant shifts will frustrate you.

When This Work Lands Hardest

It's built for communal movement, so it tends to land when your body wants to move rather than sit still. That means a dance floor, a festival or a retreat, or at home when you need to shake something loose. It's less suited to concentration work or winding down. If you can, hear it in a room with other people, because the sets are shaped around the energy of the crowd.

A One-Week Starter Plan

Day 1: Play "Bass Ritual" twice, once through speakers or good headphones with real low end, once while moving.

Day 2: Listen to "Bass Ritual Remixes Vol 2" and note which version pulls you most.

Day 3: Play "Yearning (Liquid Bloom & Bloomurian Remix)," then "Golden Road (Liquid Bloom & Bloomurian Revibe)" to hear the closest partnership in the catalog.

Day 4: Take on the first half of "Embers of a Forgotten Prayer (Revibed)."

Day 5: Finish "Embers of a Forgotten Prayer (Revibed)," then try "OUD FUTURE" (March 2026) for its more Middle Eastern-tinged direction.

Day 6: Play "Ausangate," then "Ascension (Bloomurian & Chakaruna Edit)." Then watch the YouTube channel for video material the audio platforms don't carry.

Day 7: Follow the artist on Spotify, since new singles have been arriving every few weeks. Then check bloomurian.com for event information. No tour dates were available at the time of writing, so confirm directly before planning travel. If you want to support the work directly, tracks can be bought on Bandcamp.
