About This Event

Description

Yoga for the Joy of It is an eight-day yoga retreat at Xinalani Retreat on the Pacific coast near Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. It is led by Tracie Sage, a yoga teacher, movement therapist and relationship coach who teaches Wild Spirit Yoga, a heart-opening practice rooted in Kripalu Yoga. The week suits anyone who wants a restorative reset by the ocean, with daily practice, good food and a community of like-minded people.

What to Expect

The retreat is built around presence, connection and play. Practices cultivate awareness through breath and loving kindness, with the aim of bringing you back to yourself and offering your nervous system a real reset. The invitation is to notice old habits and choose a new way of being that honors more of you. Play is part of the plan too: the week is meant to stretch you beyond the familiar, toward your own peace, joy and creativity.

There are two yoga sessions each day, and the days follow a steady rhythm:

- 7:00 to 7:30 am: morning coffee and snacks
- 7:45 to 9:30 am: morning practices
- 10:00 to 11:00 am: breakfast
- 2:30 to 3:30 pm: lunch
- 5:00 to 6:45 pm: evening practices
- 7:30 to 8:30 pm: dinner

The group gathers on the first Saturday evening for an opening circle from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. The long midday stretch between meals is left open, and kayaks and snorkel equipment are included, so there is time on the water.

About Tracie Sage

Tracie Sage has trained and practiced for more than twenty-five years and has thousands of hours of teaching and training behind her. Her teaching is grounded in the deep-listening, self-embracing practice of Kripalu Yoga, along with extensive training in movement therapy, anatomy and kinesiology, Pilates and therapeutic yoga. She is a certified yoga teacher, movement therapist and relationship coach. She brings these threads together in Wild Spirit Yoga, a practice for expressing the spirit within. Students describe her gift as creating a safe, welcoming space for growth and healing, shared with enthusiasm and a playful, practical touch.

The Setting

Xinalani Retreat sits on the Mexican coast and is reached by airport transfer followed by a boat ride to the retreat center. Ocean water, kayaking and snorkeling are part of the week's character. Three meals are served daily, described as healthful, along with coffee, tea, fruit and granola.

Accommodation is chosen at booking, and the options range from shared to private:

- Small Palapa, quadruple occupancy
- Deluxe Room with air conditioning
- Eco Chic Suite, open air or air-conditioned
- Beach Casita with air conditioning

Rooms other than the palapa are available for double or single occupancy. Pricing is per person for seven nights, all included.
