Description
The Light of Meditation is a Sunday talk and meditation session at InnerSpace Meditation Glasgow, held at Red Tree Bridgeton in Glasgow, Scotland. It is offered in support of UN World Meditation Day 2026 and suits anyone curious about meditation, whether or not they have tried it before. The centre is managed by the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University (UK), and its teaching comes from the practice of Raja Yoga meditation.
What to Expect
The session runs for one hour, from 11:00am to 12:00pm, and is part of the centre's regular Sunday rhythm. On other Sundays the centre offers "Meditation Explained", a talk paired with guided meditation, and this gathering sits alongside that programme as a special occasion linked to World Meditation Day.
The wider InnerSpace programme gives a sense of the atmosphere. Sessions tend to be quiet and unhurried, combining a short reflection with time to sit in stillness. The emphasis is on practical ideas that support peace of mind, self-esteem and a steadier, more positive way of living, rather than on belief or performance.
About InnerSpace Meditation Glasgow
Inner Space Glasgow is a meditation and personal development centre that offers a welcoming place to pause, reflect and reconnect. Its approach comes from Raja Yoga meditation, and at the heart of the teaching is the question "Who am I?", along with the idea that when we change, the world changes. The focus is on transforming one's own consciousness rather than trying to change others.
The first Inner Space Glasgow opened on Glasgow High Street in 2009. It later moved to Shettleston in 2021 and has been based at Red Tree Bridgeton since January 2024. Over more than four decades, its courses and events have been offered across Glasgow in libraries, community centres, hotels and even prisons.
The Setting
The gathering takes place at Red Tree Bridgeton, 33 Dalmarnock Road, Glasgow, G40 4LA, the centre's home since early 2024. It is an in-person event in the east of the city, in the Bridgeton area.
Before You Go
No previous experience is needed. The centre's Sunday sessions are described as welcoming to beginners, and the same open spirit applies here. If you would like to ask anything beforehand, the centre can be reached through its own contact details.
