The Alchemy of Sound Intro Workshop

The Alchemy of Sound Intro Workshop is a three-hour sound healing workshop at AKI Sound Studio in Brussels, Belgium. It is a gentle first step for anyone curious about sound baths and crystal singing bowls, whether you are new to the practice or considering it as part of an existing one. Shannon van Staden leads the morning, introducing the resonance of Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls® and how to care for them.

What to Expect

The workshop runs on a Sunday morning from 10h00 to 13h00, in a small group. It begins with an introduction to Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls® and what sets them apart, followed by guidance on bowl care, handling and storage. Shannon then demonstrates her playing technique and offers a live sound bath, so you can experience the resonance of the bowls directly and notice its effect on body and mind.

After the demonstration you get hands-on time with the bowls yourself, and there is space for questions and answers. The final hour is open for browsing the studio, which holds more than 350 instruments. You leave with a clearer sense of how the bowls work and ideas for taking your practice further.

About Shannon van Staden

Shannon van Staden is a yoga teacher known for her yin yoga classes and her alchemy crystal sound baths. She has a strong background in meditation training and practice, and she shares tools you can draw on wherever you are. She is co-founder of Crystal Singing Bowls Europe, the first sound temple of alchemy crystal bowls in Brussels, and co-teacher of The Power of Sound Healing trainings. Her teaching draws on decades of international experience.

The Setting

The workshop takes place in person at AKI Sound Studio in Brussels. The studio houses a large collection of crystal singing bowls, each a genuine Crystal Tones® Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowl® made in the USA from high-purity quartz crystal blended with other elements, including gems and minerals. Part of the morning is given to simply looking at them up close.

Before You Go

This is a beginner-level workshop, designed as an introduction. No prior experience with singing bowls is required, and you do not need your own bowl, as bowls are provided for the session.

Included are the three-hour guided workshop, the live sound bath and teaching with Shannon, and a small group setting with time for questions and bowl viewing. Participants also receive a voucher toward an Alchemy Crystal Bowl or set purchased on the day.

The workshop is not a certification. Certification belongs to the Level 1 and Level 2 Power of Sound Healing Trainings, and the Level 1 course is the path to follow if you want to offer sound baths yourself.
