The 12 Holy Days of Christmas

The 12 Holy Days of Christmas is an online spiritual workshop in English, led by the mystic and teacher Ana Otero of the Desert Rose Mystery School. It is a self-paced course that treats the days from Christmas to Epiphany as a Gnostic Christian rite of passage, drawing on Aramaic mysticism and Biblical astrology. It suits people who want to spend the season in practice and contemplation rather than only in celebration, and who feel drawn to the Magdalene and Mother Mary traditions.

What to Expect

The course is built around twelve daily teachings, one for each of the twelve days after Christmas. Each day is organized around an "I Am" statement: Light, Love, Life, Christ, Holy Spirit, Father, Mother, Love, Wisdom, Compassion, Essence, and finally a simple "I Am". Each day brings a teaching and transmission, a light activation, an Aramaic mantric practice and an embodiment practice. Ana frames each day as a gate of Stella Maris, Mother Mary as the Seed of Creation, and links each to one of the twelve zodiacal hierarchies in Biblical astrology.

Before the twelve days begin, the course opens with an introduction, guidelines for how Ana communicates with the group, and an overview of the Myrraphore ceremony, a ritual to invoke the presence of Mother Anna. Advent sessions are offered on Ana's YouTube channel, and there is guidance on how to practise through the twelve days. The Ahava sacred dance practice and a Magdalene Christos Christmas Mass are part of the material too.

The sequence closes with a lesson on Epiphany, which Ana presents as the Sacrament of the Baptism of Light and, in early Christianity, the most significant celebration of the year.

Everything is held in a members' area called My Sanctuary, with videos, audios and downloads arranged step by step. Each day an email arrives with the link to that day's teaching, so the rhythm of the twelve days stays intact even though you can begin at any time.

About Ana Otero

Ana Otero is a mystic, author, dancer, yogi and teacher, and the founder of The Desert Rose Mystery School, a school of embodied mysticism rooted in the wisdom of Mary Magdalene and Yeshua. She is based in Mijas, Málaga, in southern Spain. For more than two decades she has studied and embodied the world's great mystical traditions.

Her teaching weaves together the Magdalene–Christos Tradition, Christian mysticism, Aramaic and Hebrew mysticism, and Sufi spirituality. At its centre is The Magdalene Rosette, a contemplative framework of six pathways toward what she calls the Magdalene–Christos Heart. She holds that spirituality should be lived as well as contemplated, so that creativity becomes prayer, movement becomes meditation and the voice becomes a sacred instrument. The Desert Rose Mystery School keeps this twelve-day passage as a yearly practice.
