Yoga Retreat
Description
This yoga retreat in Bari Sardo, on the wild eastern coast of Sardinia, Italy, runs for six nights and brings together vinyasa, hatha, yin yoga, yoga nidra and breathwork. It is open to all levels and suits anyone who wants a week of steady movement, deep rest and unhurried time in nature. Amelie and Eli (Elisa) lead it, in the Ogliastra region, between limestone cliffs and the open Mediterranean.
What to Expect
The week is shaped by two elements, Earth and Sea, and each day follows the same simple rhythm.
Mornings are for grounding. Vinyasa and hatha flows build strength, stability and presence, with mobility work for the hips, shoulders and spine. Afternoons are left open: rest, walk to the coastline, swim in clear water or slow down by the pool. Evenings turn softer, with yin yoga, yoga nidra or breathwork to release tension and settle the nervous system.
Other sessions include a handstand and play lab, a light and supported exploration rather than a demanding technical class, plus yoga and breathwork workshops. A welcome ceremony opens the retreat on arrival.
Two excursions sit alongside the practice. A guided hike climbs into the Ogliastra hills, with mountains behind and the sea in the distance from the top. An optional boat trip follows the cliffs to hidden coves, with time to swim and float in open water. Excursions arranged separately are not part of the package price.
Your Hosts
Amelie teaches by invitation to soften. She blends yin, restorative yoga, nidra and breathwork, guiding people to listen to the body, move without force and meet themselves where they are.
Eli, or Elisa, brings together a communication degree, a corporate background, experience in health and wellness coaching, and a love of yoga. She works with both the energetic and the gentler forms of yoga, aiming to bring balance to busy, stressed and self-disconnected lives.
The Setting
The group stays near Bari Sardo, a small coastal town known for long, uncrowded beaches and traditional Sardinian character. The historic Spanish tower, Torre di Bari, watches over the shoreline, and inland the land opens into hills, small villages and quiet countryside.
Accommodation is a boutique retreat center set in an olive garden, a short walk from the beach. It has lush gardens, terraces and shaded corners for resting or journaling, and a large swimming pool at the center of the grounds. Double rooms are included and shared by default, unless you arrive with a friend or ask to be paired with another participant. Single rooms are available for a supplement in limited numbers.
Two plant-based meals are served daily, a brunch and an evening dinner, built around produce from the family's organic garden and nearby small producers. Tea, coffee, water and fruit are available throughout the day. Dietary requirements and intolerances can be accommodated if you mention them in advance.
Before You Go
No prior experience is needed. The sessions suit all levels, and yin, nidra and breathwork ask nothing of you beyond showing up. The retreat is taught in English, and the group is small, with very limited availability.
Included are the welcome ceremony, daily yoga and breathwork, workshops, six nights in the retreat center, two meals a day, snacks, linen and towels, Wi-Fi, information on excursions in the area, and unstructured time for yourself.
Not included are flights, arrival and departure transfers, medical and travel insurance, and private coaching or yoga sessions, which can be arranged at additional cost. A shuttle to and from Cagliari airport can be booked on request.
