Spiritual Retreat
Description
This residential non-duality retreat at EarthSpirit Centre in Compton Dundon, Somerset, is a series of conversations with Andreas Müller about the direct recognition that there is no separate self. It is for people already drawn to non-dual teaching, or curious about it, who want several days of open inquiry rather than a programme of techniques.
What to Expect
The residential is built around conversations on non-duality. The invitation is to meet this message freshly, and the description of it is plain and uncompromising. The sense of a separate experiencer is seen as an illusion, and what looked like a limit turns out to be boundless. What has felt like a purely personal experience turns out to be impersonal and without edges. What was rejected is revealed to be all there is, and to be perfect love.
The language used is direct. "You reading these lines" is described as the totality from which nothing is separate, neither a concept nor an experience. The questions asked are who could watch this totality, who could experience everything that seems to be happening, and who could find an answer to it.
This is not a self-improvement retreat. The teaching says there is nothing to achieve and no one to achieve it. What appears to be happening does not lead anywhere, has no intention, and will not help anyone become more complete. Expect an atmosphere of inquiry and open dialogue, not a programme of practices, goals or progress.
About Andreas Müller
Andreas Müller leads this residential and offers conversations on non-duality, the understanding that experience is one seamless, impersonal appearance with no separate person at its centre. His approach, as described for this event, is uncompromising and without promises of attainment. More about his work can be found on his own website, The Timeless Wonder.
The Setting
EarthSpirit Centre sits in Compton Dundon, in the Somerset Levels of England, a landscape of open countryside close to Glastonbury. The centre hosts residential retreats and workshops across its Main Centre and the self-contained Little Earth building. This residential takes place in the Main Centre. The centre's meals are vegetarian, and its other retreats describe locally sourced, organic food, with dietary needs catered for.
Before You Go
No prior experience is stated as necessary. The conversations will be most useful to people comfortable with open-ended questions and with a message that offers no method or reward. It is a residential, so you stay at the centre for the duration of the gathering.
