Spiritual Retreat
Description
Oneness OWL, Practice of Enlightenment is a spiritual retreat at the Ekam Sattva Campus in Varadaiahpalem, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is for people who feel weighed down by stress, separation or a sense of disconnection and want a guided path toward inner stillness and what Ekam calls the lived reality of Oneness. The teachers behind Ekam's programs are Sri Preethaji and Sri Krishnaji.
What to Expect
Ekam describes its work as a way to move from the turmoil of stress and suffering toward inner stillness, and from living in separation toward connection. The aim is to help participants awaken to their true selves and open to healing, joy, deeper relationships and a sense of purpose.
Meditation is central to the Ekam approach. The practices designed by Sri Preethaji and Sri Krishnaji draw on ancient yogic wisdom and modern insight, and Ekam says they are built on brain research done at its Oneness consciousness lab in collaboration with scientific communities. Several of these practices are described, and you may meet them or similar ones in a retreat setting:
- Soul Sync Meditation: a 9-minute morning practice that Ekam says quiets restless beta brainwaves and strengthens calming alpha rhythms, to support clarity, emotional balance and a settled start to the day.
- Serene Mind: a 3-minute practice for emotional overwhelm, intended to calm the brain's fear center and engage the prefrontal cortex.
- Ekam Health Practice: a breath-based meditation rooted in yogic tradition that works with three energies of the subtle body: Ojas, Tejas and Prana.
- Ekam Prayer: a prayer offered for your own transformation, or in support of someone you love.
- Ekam Mantra: the six-syllable chant Humsa Sohum Ekam, recited with breath awareness and a clear intention, traditionally 11, 28, 48 or 108 times.
Ekam also offers other programs, including Manifest, the Abundance Festival and Tapas, a deep inward program of self-discovery. These are separate offerings from this retreat.
About Sri Preethaji and Sri Krishnaji
Sri Preethaji and Sri Krishnaji are the teachers who designed Ekam's meditation practices and lead its programs. Ekam refers to Sri Preethaji as a Mukti Guru, and she is the one to whom the Ekam Mantra was revealed within the sanctum of Ekam. They also created the Soul Sync Meditation, which Ekam says is practiced by millions around the world.
The Setting
The retreat takes place at Ekam in Varadaiahpalem, Andhra Pradesh, India, the home of the Ekam Sattva Campus. Ekam is described as a sanctum, a place set apart for inward practice, prayer and meditation.
Before You Go
The practices described here are short and approachable, from three minutes to nine, so you do not need an established meditation habit to begin. Ekam also offers a free guided Soul Sync Meditation and a breathing app, which can be a gentle way to become familiar with the style of practice before you arrive.
