Preston Klik
Gong Meditation
Description
The OM Gong Experience is a private gong meditation led by Preston Klik, an Evanston, Illinois musician who guides live meditative sound journeys. It takes place near Rogers Park, Illinois, and is a private gathering rather than an open public concert. It suits anyone drawn to a sound bath, a gong meditation, or an hour of deep listening and rest.
What to Expect
The OM Gong Experience is one of the offerings Preston Klik brings to listeners alongside his "Ocean of Devotion Sound Journey." The gong sits at the center of the practice, and the aim is a quiet, immersive meditation shaped by sound rather than by instruction.
Preston's wider work gives a sense of the palette he draws from. He plays melodica, didjeridoo, Ocean Drum, loops, crystal bowls, Native American flute, wah-tube, rattles and drums. His Shamanic Walkabout concerts have been described as both grounding and transcendent, "a healing meditation for some, a psychic music-guided trance-journey for others." People come to his sound journeys to rest, listen and let the music do its work in whatever way suits them.
About Preston Klik
Preston Klik is a musician based in Evanston, Illinois, who leads live meditative sound journeys. Besides the OM Gong Experience and the Ocean of Devotion Sound Journey, he gives lessons. His wife, Emily Klik, often shares Cranio-Sacral Therapy with attendees at his events.
Preston and Emily met in the garden at Unity Chicago, after the first "Eight:18 - Circus of the Spirit" celebration. They married in Unity's garden gazebo in August 2004 and took the name Klik together.
Before You Go
This gong meditation is private, so it is not an open drop-in event. Preston's studio, the Chapel Of Sacred Sounds, does not host events, and the gong sessions take place near Rogers Park rather than at his Evanston home.
