Description
This New Year's Eve meditation evening at Inye Yoga in Oakville, Ontario, is an invitation into deep rest as the year turns. Restorative yoga, a Sankalpa Yoga Nidra practice and a crystal singing bowl sound journey come together over two hours, for anyone who would rather close 2026 quietly and enter 2027 with a clear intention than at a party.
Shanine Dennill and Eddee Huang guide the restorative and Yoga Nidra portions, and Preeti Berar leads the sound healing.
What to Expect
The evening begins with reflection and release. You look back over 2026 and let it go, supported in restorative poses meant to nourish body, mind and soul. Restorative yoga releases tension, makes more space, softens the edges we feel in ourselves and in life, and opens up fresh energy.
A Sankalpa Yoga Nidra practice follows, a guided rest in which you shape a clear vision for 2027. Preeti Berar then carries the room into a sound bath with crystal bowls, singing bowls, tuning forks and other instruments. The idea is that mind and body surrender into the vibration, and that your intentions move into a higher frequency, a proclamation to yourself and the universe of your life path.
The gathering runs from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. There is also time for post-discussion and reflection, so you will want to write down any thoughts that come up.
About Shanine Dennill
Shanine Dennill is a Tantra yoga and meditation teacher whose specialty is bringing ritual and rest together. In her words, ritual moves us into presence, devotion and consistency, while rest lets us tap into deep stillness. Her work draws on Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Ayurveda, energy healing and time in nature, and she describes herself as a teacher, writer and nature lover.
Her path began young. The loss of her grandfather and her father, and hearing of a person killed in her home country of South Africa, led her to question life and death and to read widely on spirituality and religion. She was introduced to yoga while studying massage therapy in 1999, moved to Canada in 2001, and enrolled in her first yoga teacher training after a colleague suggested she try yoga again.
The Setting
The evening takes place at Inye Yoga, in Bristol Circle in Oakville, Ontario.
