Spiritual Retreat
Online
Description
The New Year Online Retreat is a meditation retreat held online over a weekend, a quiet way to begin the year with meditative self-inquiry. It is open to anyone drawn to live and work from a deeper ground of presence. It is led by Mukesh Gupta, a traveling meditation teacher whose work is inspired by J. Krishnamurti and other non-dual teachings.
The online weekend belongs to a wider series of retreats in Europe, Canada and India, and it carries the same spirit: a gentle space in which a deeper source of Being can awaken, one that moves beyond the confines of fear and the restless ego-mind. The theme that runs through the whole series is the Living Flame of Silence.
What to Expect
Retreats in this series follow a harmonious rhythm of meditative self-inquiry, quiet dialogues, selected readings from J. Krishnamurti's teachings, small group explorations and silent sittings. Each retreat carries its own fragrance, but the shape of the days is meant to feel unhurried, with room for listening as much as for speaking.
The purpose is not to add something to your routine. Krishnamurti, in a public talk in Madras, spoke of taking a retreat "to go away and to stop the routine - not only the routine of out ward existence but the routine which the mind establishes for its own safety and convenience." He also said that when the heart is open, reality can come, and the whisperings of our own prejudices and noises are no longer heard. That is the spirit of these days: stepping back, listening, and letting the usual noise of the mind settle.
