Spiritual Retreat
Description
Naimisam Retreats is a series of residential spiritual retreats at Naimisam Retreat Centre, a Krishnamurti-inspired centre on the quiet rural outskirts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Through silent meditation and open dialogue, the retreats explore inner stillness and awareness as a way of living. They are led by Mukesh Gupta, with Ilaya, a visiting teacher from France. Formats range from single Sundays to a New Year retreat and a weekend for young adults, so there is a way in whether you are new to meditation or have an established practice.
What to Expect
The programme is a meditative inquiry. Days combine guided meditation sessions with facilitated dialogues on self-inquiry and awareness, looking at the essential questions of life directly rather than through accumulated knowledge or stories. The setting is one of silence and solitude, and the approach is rooted in the teachings of J. Krishnamurti, with Advaita Vedanta also among the traditions it draws on.
Several formats are on offer:
- New Year Retreat, "The Beauty of the Unknown": a residential retreat that begins at 11:00 AM on the first day and ends at 4:00 PM on the last. It is a gentle beginning to the new year, an invitation to let a quiet, nameless beauty touch us at the core. Together the group meditates on the essential questions of life and lets inner silence, awareness and love flower beyond all knowledge and stories.
- Sunday Retreats: single-day immersions from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You may join any one of the Sundays offered.
- Weekend Immersion for Young Adults: a two-day retreat for people under 45, beginning at 11:00 AM on the Saturday and ending at 5:00 PM on the Sunday.
