Description
Myofascial Yoga and Mindful Ethics is a yoga workshop held live on Zoom from Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, led by Christine Wushke. It brings myofascial yoga together with mindfulness-based movement, looking at how fascia awareness and nervous system science can deepen a yoga practice. It is Module 7 of the 200-hour Myofascial Yoga Teacher Training, and it can also be taken on its own for Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credits or simply to bring myofascial yoga into your own practice.
What to Expect
The live session runs on a Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm Mountain time. Together you apply myofascial principles to the classical yoga poses and look at core yoga concepts, including mindfulness, non-violence and the source of true contentment, through the lens of polyvagal theory.
Topics include:
- Traditional yoga concepts alongside the modern science of nervous system regulation
- How polyvagal theory applies to yoga and other mindfulness-based movement practices
- Ball placement in yoga poses, with a focus on interoception and nervous system regulation for pain management
- Fitting traditional yoga philosophy, including mindfulness and non-violence, into a modern scientific framework
- How biotensegrity principles can bring more freedom and ease to yoga postures
- Why and how mindfulness-based movement can improve quality of life and reduce pain, anxiety and depression
The aim is practical: simple, impactful ways to increase mobility, decrease pain and feel more at ease in your body, along with a way to bring mindfulness-based movement into every class you teach.
