Yoga Teacher Training
Description
Hot Yoga Retreat and 200-hr RYT is a yoga teacher training and hot yoga retreat led by Brooke Allison and Sarah Grace at Xinalani, an oceanfront retreat center in Quimixto, Jalisco, Mexico, just south of Puerto Vallarta. It runs for seven nights and is listed as open to all levels, combining hot yoga and teacher training with strength and movement work in a setting between the jungle and the Pacific Ocean.
What to Expect
The retreat centers on hot yoga and a 200-hour RYT teacher training, taught by Brooke Allison and Sarah Grace. It sits within Xinalani's strength and movement offerings, so expect the physical side of practice to be central.
Xinalani describes a general rhythm for its retreats, though each retreat sets its own. Mornings begin with yoga by the ocean at 8 AM, followed by breakfast at 10 AM. The middle of the day is free time to swim, use the pool and wellness area, or book a massage. Lunch is at 2 PM on the oceanfront terrace. At 5 PM there is a quieter session, which might be restorative yoga, meditation, cacao or a mindful practice. Dinner comes at 7 PM after the sunset over Banderas Bay.
Because this is a teacher training, its own schedule may differ from that general outline.
The Setting
Xinalani sits on the coast in Quimixto, between the jungle and the ocean. Meals are included in the retreat rhythm: fresh tropical fruit, homemade pastries and Mexican favorites at breakfast, seasonal dishes at lunch, and local cuisine with homemade desserts at dinner.
Four room types are available:
- Beach Casita: the most spacious and private, with a king bed, terrace, plunge pool and ocean views.
- Eco Chic Treehouse: an open-air room above the jungle with a private terrace and hammock, available with air conditioning or open-air.
- Deluxe Room: suited to couples and solo travelers, with a king bed or two twin beds and a terrace.
- Small and Big Palapa: shared open-air palapas with four or eight individual beds, the most accessible way to stay.
Before You Go
The retreat is open to all levels. Expect heat in the practice room, as this is a hot yoga retreat. Xinalani takes care of the stay and meals, so there is little to organize beyond getting there, and the wellness area and ocean are close by for rest between sessions.
