Meditation Retreat
Description
This half day meditation retreat in Glasgow, Scotland, invites you to explore how Raja Yoga helps us rediscover the peace, love and joy that are already part of us. Held in person at InnerSpace Meditation Glasgow and organised by the InnerSpace Brahma Kumaris Meditation Centre, it is open to beginners and to anyone curious about a quieter, more reflective way into the festive season.
The theme is "Unwrapping Inner Calm". At this time of year we tend to think about what we need, what we want and what we can give. The session turns toward gifts that cannot be bought or wrapped: the natural qualities we carry within us, and how sharing them can bring more warmth, happiness and meaning to everyday life.
What to Expect
The morning runs from 10:30 to 12:30 and combines three simple elements: guided meditation, reflection and group discussion. You will consider peace, love and joy as inherent qualities rather than things to be acquired, and talk about what it looks like to offer them to others in ordinary situations.
This is not a movement or yoga class. There are no physical exercises or postures. You sit on a chair throughout, listening, discussing and meditating, so no flexibility or previous practice is needed. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served as part of the session, which gives a natural pause for conversation.
About InnerSpace Glasgow
InnerSpace Glasgow is a meditation and personal development centre, managed by the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University (UK). Its approach comes from the practice of Raja Yoga meditation, and it offers a welcoming place to pause, reflect and reconnect. The centre shares meditation and practical ideas that support peace of mind, self-esteem and a more positive, steady way of living.
The first InnerSpace Glasgow opened on Glasgow High Street in 2009, later moved to Shettleston in 2021, and has been based at Red Tree Bridgeton since January 2024. Over more than four decades, its courses and events have been offered across Glasgow in libraries, community centres, hotels and even prisons.
At the heart of the teaching is the question "Who am I?", and the idea that when we change, the world changes. The emphasis is on transforming one's own consciousness rather than changing others.
