Healing Retreat
Description
Grief to Grace: When Grief Becomes a Doorway is a weekend healing retreat for grief and remembrance at Ratna Ling Retreat Center in Cazadero, California, led by evidential medium and spiritual teacher Jeffrey Peck. It is for anyone carrying loss who is looking for a quiet, restorative place to be with it rather than hurry past it.
The retreat starts from a simple premise: some griefs don't want to be fixed. They want to be witnessed. Over two nights in the redwoods, the weekend makes room for the kind of slow, quiet work that ordinary life rarely allows, learning not to move on from what we've lost, but to move with it.
What to Expect
This is a restorative weekend of two nights. Jeffrey Peck guides the group through the enduring nature of love, the wisdom that grief holds, and the many ways our loved ones continue. The tone is tender and unhurried, closer to a contemplative gathering than a workshop with problems to solve. Nothing in the retreat asks you to resolve your grief or to arrive at an ending.
Ratna Ling's wider retreat program leans toward rest, reflection and time in nature, and the setting suits that pace.
About Jeffrey Peck
Jeffrey Peck is an evidential medium and spiritual teacher. He brings that perspective to this weekend, which centers on remembrance and on the idea that love continues after loss. He leads the retreat in person at Ratna Ling.
The Setting
Ratna Ling Retreat Center sits among the coastal redwoods near Cazadero, in Sonoma County on the Northern California coast. It is a retreat center run as a volunteer organization, and it hosts yoga, meditation, mindfulness and healing weekends throughout the year. Guests step away from daily life into a quiet outdoor setting, where the trees and stillness do a good share of the work.
Before You Go
The retreat is open to anyone grieving, whether the loss is the death of someone loved or another kind of ending. No prior meditation or spiritual experience is described as a requirement. Because the weekend is about sitting with what is tender, it helps to arrive without a fixed expectation of how you will feel, and to allow the days to be as quiet as you need them to be.
