Goddess Rising Celebration

Goddess Rising Celebration is a Shakti kirtan in Longwood, Florida, near Orlando, for anyone drawn to call-and-response chanting, devotional music and the feminine face of the Divine. Four to five women lead the kirtan, taking turns through the day and into the evening, and Felicia Rose is one of the performers.

What to Expect

The kirtan runs all day and continues into the evening, with several Goddess-led sets rather than a single concert. Shakti kirtan centers on the creative, feminine power of the Divine, and hearing different voices and styles over many hours gives the gathering its range. A workshop follows on the next day for those who want to go further than the music.

The evening itself is set for 7:00 PM, and the full run of the programme is still being shaped by the organizers.

About Felicia Rose

Felicia Rose is a singer, songwriter and kirtan artist whose music ranges from romantic ballads steeped in love for the Divine to upbeat chants in English and Sanskrit. Her original songs weave together danceable folk rock and soulful world beat with a touch of gospel, and she has been described as "passionately mystical."

She became a musician after profound spiritual experiences with Humpback whales, who revealed the healing effect of sound vibration to her in dreams. She later met them in person in Hawaii. In her late twenties she received the message to write, sing and play guitar, and she recorded her first CD, "Do You Remember?" She then toured the world as a troubadour, playing alternative music festivals, yoga and wellness centers, interfaith churches, temples, sacred ceremonies and private homes.

The Setting

The gathering takes place in Longwood, Florida, in the greater Orlando area. The exact venue is still to be announced, and the organizer, Dana Albert, is the person to ask for location and ticket details.
