Awaken the Spirit of Your Power Animal

This shamanic workshop, Awaken the Spirit of Your Power Animal, is a one-hour guided session at Olympia London in London, England, led by Barbara Meiklejohn-Free. It is for anyone drawn to shamanism who wants to meet their Guardian Power Animal through drum-led journeying and the practice of shape-shifting. The session is part of the Oasis of Sound programme, in the Ceremony Space.

What to Expect

The workshop is built around the drum. Following its rhythm, you open your inner vision and travel into the Lower Worlds, where, in the shamanic tradition, your Power Animal waits to guide, protect and empower you. Shape-shifting is the doorway: an ancient practice of taking on the perspective and presence of an animal ally.

Over the hour, the session covers:

- Guided shape-shifting to open inner vision
- Entry into the Lower Worlds through drum rhythm
- Meeting the spirit of your personal power animal
- Learning the medicine your animal ally carries

The workshop also looks at how to embody that medicine, so that the animal's wisdom can support your own path and strengthen your sense of protection. Some animal spirits visit for a moment and some walk with a person for a lifetime. Either way, the encounter is understood to hold meaning, and the session leaves room to explore it. It runs from 14:30 to 15:30 on the Sunday.

About Barbara Meiklejohn-Free

Barbara Meiklejohn-Free is an internationally respected author, teacher, Seer, Elder and medicine woman with over fifty-five years of experience walking between the worlds, and more than forty years presenting at Mind Body Spirit shows. She draws on a deep Scottish Highland ancestral lineage, alongside training with Native American, South American, Aboriginal and Egyptian elders. A best-selling, award-winning author, she is co-creator of over fifteen oracle decks. She is also one of the co-hosts of the Ceremony Space, together with Flavia Kate Peters. Barbara is known for grounded honesty, fierce compassion and no-nonsense wisdom, and for guiding people to reclaim intuition, purpose and authentic power.

The Setting

The workshop takes place at Olympia London, within the Oasis of Sound programme and its Ceremony Space.

Before You Go

The session is taught in English and lasts one hour. No prior experience with shamanic practice or drumming is described as required, so it may suit newcomers as well as those who already work with animal allies. The tradition at its heart is shamanism, shaped by Barbara's Scottish Highland ancestry.
