Yoga Teacher Training
Description
A 50-hour Yin Yoga teacher training at Suryalila Retreat Centre in Villamartín, Andalusia, Spain, led by Bruna Pons. It is a continuing education course for yoga teachers and dedicated practitioners who want to understand Yin Yoga through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine, working with meridians, fascia and acupressure points.
The training is offered at Suryalila as AcuYin and MyoYin, a Yin Yoga and acupressure teacher training. If you have wondered how the slow, held postures of Yin relate to the energy pathways described in Chinese medicine, this course takes that question as its starting point.
What to Expect
Over 50 hours, Bruna Pons guides participants into three connected areas: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the fascia, and acupressure points. The aim is to restore and balance the flow of energy in body and mind, and to look at imbalances with a holistic approach grounded in TCM.
In practice, this means studying how Yin Yoga can be shaped around the meridian system, how the connective tissue of the body responds to sustained postures, and how acupressure can support the work. You can expect a mix of study and practice, so that what you learn is something you have felt in your own body before you offer it to students.
The exact daily timetable is not fixed here, so expect a full training week with the rhythm set by the teacher.
About Bruna Pons
Bruna Pons leads this training as part of Suryalila's programme of teacher trainings. Her course brings together Yin Yoga, TCM, fascia work and acupressure into a single, coherent approach to restoring balance.
The Setting
Suryalila is a yoga retreat centre near Villamartín in the Andalusian hills of southern Spain, close to the region's Natural Parks. Its retreats are built around daily yoga, organic vegetarian meals and time in nature, which suits a training that asks you to slow down and pay attention. Stepping away from your usual routine is part of what makes the material sink in.
Before You Go
This is a 50-hour continued education training, so it is best suited to people who already teach or practise yoga and want to deepen their understanding of Yin. The course is taught in English. No prior knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine is mentioned as a requirement, and the course introduces TCM concepts as part of the training.
Bring comfortable clothing for long, still postures, something warm for the periods of stillness, and a notebook for the theory. Suryalila also offers other 50-hour trainings and retreats through the year, so you can combine this one with other study if you wish.
