Question 1

Will I receive a certificate at the end of the 12-day Thai massage training?

Accepted Answer

Arcana describes this as a certification course, so completing it is intended to earn you a certificate. The organizer's page doesn't say which body issues it or whether it is recognized for professional licensing in your country. If you plan to work professionally, ask Arcana about this before booking.

Question 2

Is this course for professional practitioners or for personal learning?

Accepted Answer

Arcana pitches it at people who want to master the art of healing, which suits both career-minded students and those drawn to the practice for its own sake. The page doesn't list prerequisites or prior experience requirements. Ask Arcana directly if you want to know what level the group is taught at.

Question 3

How is this training different from the Arcana Experience retreat?

Accepted Answer

The Arcana Experience is an ongoing retreat you can join at any time of year. The Traditional Thai Massage Training is a separate, structured 12-day course with a set run and a certification outcome. If you want to arrive whenever suits you and drop in, the retreat fits better. If you want focused skill-building in one craft, choose the training.

Question 4

Where does the training take place and how do I get there?

Accepted Answer

It is held at Arcana on Koh Phangan, an island in Surat Thani province, Thailand. The island is reached by boat, so you will need to plan your ferry and onward transfer. The organizer's page doesn't give arrival instructions, so confirm the details with Arcana.

Question 5

What exactly will I learn in the course?

Accepted Answer

The course is titled Traditional Thai Massage Training, so the focus is the traditional Thai approach to bodywork as a healing art. Arcana's page doesn't publish a daily curriculum, a list of techniques or teacher names. Request the syllabus from Arcana if you want to know the specifics before committing.

Question 6

Are accommodation, meals and materials included in the course price?

Accepted Answer

The source page doesn't state the price or what it covers. Since Arcana also runs residential retreats, ask whether lodging and food are bundled or booked separately for the training. Get this in writing before you pay.

Question 7

How do I book a place on the training?

Accepted Answer

The training is listed on Arcana's retreats page with a Read More link that leads to full details and booking. Because this is a certification course with a set run, secure your place ahead of time rather than turning up, unlike the open-entry Arcana Experience.
