Hestia Magic Paliuli Farm — Captain Cook, United States
A ten-acre Kona coffee farm and botanical sanctuary above Honaunau Bay, Big Island
The story of Paliuli Farm begins in Northern California. In 2014, Belinda and Peter, now Hestia Magic's co-founders, accepted what they describe as an invitation from land near Mount Shasta, and named it Hestia after the Greek goddess of the hearth. After a first pilgrimage to other sacred lands in 2019 to explore a possible sisterhood, they felt inspired to extend that work to two sister lands on the Big Island. Paliuli, founded in 2025, is the Hawai'i sanctuary.
The name is the Hawaiian word for the Garden of Eden. The property is ten acres of Kona coffee farm and botanical sanctuary in the Captain Cook, or Honaunau, area, about 25 miles south of Kona Airport. The pages mention sunset ocean views, coffee, cacao, wild tropical fruit and spinner dolphins in the bay below. It sits near Honaunau Bay, described as one of the most sacred native Hawaiian ceremonial sites, and guests are within walking distance of three bays where they swim with dolphins, manta rays and turtles.
Stays are built around rest. A three-night Digital Detox Weekend stores guests' phones on arrival and includes meals, a guided somatic land experience and an evening session such as yin yoga, yoga nidra, sound bath, massage or energy work. A six-night Sabbatical Week adds guided sessions, journaling tools and ritual. Monthlong stays, including a Writer's Retreat with a dedicated workspace and Wi-Fi, run through spring and summer, with guests also invited to take part in land stewardship and use the working coffee farm.
Seasonal gatherings are held here too. A New Year's Winter Solstice Sabbatical Week runs December 28, 2026 to January 3, 2027 with Belinda Liu and Dr. Paul Wang, and The Quickening Hearth, an Imbolc retreat led by Elle Saunders, follows from January 31 to February 6, 2027. Groups can take the full property, from $6,000 for four nights for up to 14 guests, and ten percent of event revenue goes to the Rest in Nature Scholarship Fund.
