Coach Renato Canova

“The coach's job isn't to make runners fast. It's to make them believe they can be fast.”

“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve.”

“The real competitor will find every way to win. I find it's not about how hard you push, but how smart you work.”

“The track is where dreams are made and broken. Every lap matters.”

“The moment you think you can't push any harder is the moment you discover you haven't begun to push at all.”

“I learned that the ability to endure is just as important as the ability to explode.”

“The race is won by the one who suffers the least.”

“The relay is the most beautiful event in track and field because it's a pure team sport.”

“To be a champion, you have to train like a champion.”

“In the marathon, it's not about how fast you start. It's about how strong you finish.”
