About This Event

Description

Common Questions

FAQs

The organizer lists the trip at 850€. It includes airport pickup in Marrakech and transfer to the riad, 2 nights at the riad, 1 night at a fixed bivouac with full comforts near Mhamid el Ghizlane, and 5 nights in nomad tents among the dunes. Meals prepared by a cook, drinking water, round-trip transfers from Marrakech and an escort are also included. The page text is cut off before the exclusions section, so confirm with the organizer what else (such as your flight) you must pay for.
On day 2 you travel by private vehicle from Marrakech to Mhamid, crossing the High Atlas and Berber villages. The route goes over the Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2260 m, the highest road in Morocco. It also stops at Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage ksar, and continues through the Draa Valley to the edge of the desert.
The first two nights are a mix of riad and fixed camp: the first night is in a Marrakech riad, the next at a comfortable fixed bivouac in a palm grove about 10 km from Mhamid el Ghizlane. After that you sleep in nomad bivouacs in tents among the dunes for 5 nights. The final night is back in a Marrakech riad before the airport transfer on day 8.
No. Your personal belongings are loaded onto camels, and the camels also carry the drinking water used for drinking and cooking. You travel with a nomad team and camels, so you walk with the caravan rather than hauling your bags.
