Yoga Teacher Training
Description
Yoga for All Abilities is a yoga teacher training and the first part of a 95-hour certification program built on the Sonia Sumar Method. It is held at Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville in Buckingham, Virginia.
The program is for yoga teachers and those preparing to teach who want to make yoga available to people of every ability. The Sonia Sumar Method is the approach taught throughout the certification, and this first part begins the 95-hour course of study.
The Setting
Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville is the Integral Yoga community in Buckingham, Virginia, founded in the tradition of Sri Swami Satchidananda. It is a residential ashram where yoga teacher trainings, silent retreats, and workshops are held throughout the year, so participants study within a community whose daily life is organized around yoga.
Before You Go
This is Part 1 of a two-part certification, so anyone considering it should plan to take the later part to complete the full 95 hours. Because the training is built around teaching yoga to people of all abilities, it suits those who work or hope to work with students whose needs differ from those of a typical group class.
