About This Event

Description

- il Satipatthana Sutta e l'Anapanasati Sutta;
- lo sviluppo dei fattori mentali salutari e il superamento degli ostacoli;
- il rapporto tra calma concentrata (samadhi) e visione profonda (vipassana);

È richiesta la partecipazione all'intero ritiro.

Common Questions

FAQs

The retreat draws mainly on the Burmese method of Mahasi Sayadaw, known in the West as insight meditation and at the root of modern mindfulness practice. Practice begins with direct awareness of the body and breath and moves toward subtler experiences of the mind/body system.
Teachings focus on the Satipatthana Sutta and the Anapanasati Sutta, on developing wholesome mental factors and overcoming obstacles, and on the relationship between calm concentration (samadhi) and insight (vipassana). They also cover how vipassana relates to cultivating compassion and loving-kindness (Karuna and Metta).
The program alternates continuously between sitting and walking meditation, with teaching sessions on the practice. Some sessions of deep relaxation and guided meditation are interspersed with meditation in silence. Qi gong is also used to balance the mind/body system and raise energy. The organizer provides a separate retreat schedule document to read beforehand.
Yes. The program includes individual interviews with the teacher, Paolo Testa, and with an assistant. The organizers describe these as an important part of the retreat, giving targeted guidance for overcoming difficulties and focusing the mind toward insight.
