Description
Trauma Sensitive Yoga for Female Survivors is a free, gentle yoga class offered in person by YogaSong and Victim Services Inc. It is open to women who are survivors, and to anyone they know who would find this support relevant. The class is led by yoga teacher Rachel Allen and runs from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. It belongs to a series of trauma sensitive yoga classes for female survivors that is also offered on Zoom.
No yoga experience is needed. The room is meant to be accepting, and you are welcomed as you are.
What to Expect
This is a one-hour trauma sensitive yoga (TSY) class, kept gentle and unhurried. Choices and options are given throughout the practice, so you decide what works for your body on any given day. The focus is on tools and supports that help with nervous system integration, and on taking what you practice on the mat into everyday life.
