Wellness Retreat
Description
This seven-day wellness retreat in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is led by SEIKRID and brings together meditation, yoga, breathwork, sound baths and Thai massage with temple visits and a volunteer day at an ethical elephant sanctuary. It is for people who want to experience Northern Thailand as participants rather than sightseers, with time for both exploration and rest.
What to Expect
The week runs six nights and seven days, and the program moves between inner practice and time out in the city and its surroundings. Days include sessions in meditation, yoga, guided breathwork and sound bath, along with guided workshops and experiential sessions. Gathering and ceremony are woven through the week, so the group comes together as well as going out.
A central part of the retreat is the visit and volunteer experience at an ethical elephant sanctuary, where the focus is compassionate care and conservation. Alongside it are visits to Chiang Mai's temples, rooted in Thai Buddhist temple traditions, and other local cultural experiences and excursions. Traditional Thai massage is part of the program, and meals draw on northern Thai cooking. Shared meals are part of how the group connects.
The pace is meant to be slower than a typical trip: time to settle, move your body, eat well and take in what you are seeing.
The Setting
The retreat is based in Chiang Mai, in the north of Thailand, with six nights of accommodation included. Transportation from Chiang Mai International Airport to the accommodation is provided, and group transportation covers the scheduled excursions and activities.
Breakfast is included every day, and a second meal is provided on most retreat days, along with a welcome-night dinner. Coffee, tea and water are available throughout. On select days, when the group is out exploring or dining independently, meals are not covered.
