About This Event

Description

Sheela Bringi performs in concert at the Chautauqua Community House in Boulder, Colorado, as part of a two-night Colorado run that continues the next evening in Denver. It is a gathering for anyone drawn to sacred music, Indian classical sound and the devotional traditions that shape it, whether you come as a longtime listener of world and new age music or simply want an evening of music in a quiet, thoughtful setting.

What to Expect

This is a concert built around the voice and instruments Sheela Bringi is known for: Indian vocals, bansuri flute and raga harp. Her music grows out of North Indian classical training and meets contemporary sounds, so the melodies carry the patience and detail of raga while staying open and approachable to listeners who are new to the tradition.

The Boulder evening is the first of two Colorado performances. The second takes place the following night at The Althea Center for Engaged Spirituality in Denver, which makes it possible to hear her in both cities over one weekend.

About Sheela Bringi

Sheela Bringi was born into a family rooted in music and spirituality and grew up in a multicultural environment, surrounded by a wide range of musical influences from an early age. Her path into sacred music began with training in North Indian classical music, where she developed a deep appreciation for its intricate melodies and rhythms.

That foundation shaped a style that blends Indian classical music with contemporary sounds and has carried her to audiences around the world. Her Indian vocals, bansuri flute and raga harp have been featured on more than 50 new age and world music records. Her work includes the Grammy-nominated album "Bhakti Without Borders."

The Setting

The concert is held at the Chautauqua Community House, 301 Morning Glory Drive, Boulder, Colorado 80302. For the Denver performance the following night, the address is The Althea Center for Engaged Spirituality, 1400 N. Williams St., Denver, Colorado 80218.
