Yoga Workshop
Description
The Restorative Yoga Intensive Training with Kim Korson is a two-day yoga workshop at Indigo Yoga in Beavercreek, Ohio, for yoga practitioners and yoga teachers who want to deepen their understanding of restorative yoga. It is a hands-on, in-studio training in how to bring the body and nervous system into deep rest, whether you plan to practice for yourself or guide others.
What to Expect
The weekend runs across a Saturday and a Sunday, with sessions from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm each day and a 30-minute break in the middle. The pace is unhurried, and most of the time goes to the practical work of setting up and creating postures.
The training begins with an elementary review of the nervous system. This gives the weekend its foundation and a reason behind each choice that follows, so that the principles of restorative yoga make sense before you start building poses.
From there, you practice and observe a wide range of postures, including variations and small adjustments that can have a large effect on the nervous system. You learn how to use props to support the body in each shape, and how to create a safe, nurturing environment for practice, whether you are the practitioner or the teacher.
Other threads through the two days:
- Sequencing elements that support rest and rejuvenation
- Breathwork and guided meditation to build awareness of your body, breath, and inner landscape
By the end, the aim is that you have the skills and knowledge to guide yourself or students through a restorative practice with confidence.
