Question 1

Is Honour Winter Solstice from the Temple of Light held in person at Yasodhara Ashram or online?

Accepted Answer

The Yasodhara Ashram program calendar lists this event as an Online Event, so you can join remotely rather than travelling to Kootenay Bay. It is hosted by the Ashram and led by Durga and Gauri.

Question 2

Who are Durga and Gauri, and who leads this solstice session?

Accepted Answer

The event is titled as being led by Durga and Gauri, offered through Yasodhara Ashram. Durga also appears on the Ashram's calendar co-leading the online program Expanding Awareness in Your Daily Life with Swami Padmananda, so she is a familiar teaching presence there. The source material gives no further biographical detail.

Question 3

What is the Temple of Light in the context of this solstice event?

Accepted Answer

The Temple of Light is the setting named in the event title, and the Ashram frames the session as a way to honour the winter solstice from it. The organizer's page does not describe the specific practices, so check the event listing or contact the Ashram for the exact format before you join.

Question 4

Do I need to pay the $300 deposit to join this online solstice event?

Accepted Answer

The $300 non-refundable deposit in the Ashram's cancellation policy applies to reserving a space for stays and courses at the Ashram. The source text does not say it applies to this online event, so confirm the ticket price on the registration page.

Question 5

What happens to my payment if I cancel a Yasodhara Ashram booking?

Accepted Answer

For Ashram bookings, the $300 deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel at least 14 days before the start, it may be transferred as a booking credit to another stay within twelve months. Cancel inside 14 days and it cannot be transferred. Check the event page for any terms specific to this online session.

Question 6

Will I find other Yasodhara Ashram offerings if I enjoy this session?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Ashram's calendar lists other online offerings, including Exploring your Dreams with Swami RadhaTarananda and Julie MacAdam, and the Restorative Retreat: Coming Back to Balance with Swami Satyananda. It also lists the Keep Your Practice Alive: Hidden Language Hatha classes, a Kundalini Journey, and the Yoga Development Course (YDC) 2027.
