Description
The Glastonbury Goddess Retreat is a spring Kundalini yoga and women's healing retreat in Glastonbury, England, held at the Avalon Rooms in Goddess House. Its 2027 edition is called The Becoming. It is for women who want time set aside for healing, ceremony and sisterhood, and who are ready to begin a new path in their lives. The retreat is part of an ongoing series of Glastonbury gatherings held under the name Returning to You, and it draws on the Kundalini Goddess ceremony work the organizer also offers across the south coast of England.
What to Expect
The retreat is built around four threads: healing, Kundalini yoga, ceremony and sisterhood. The year's theme, The Becoming, points toward self-reclamation and creating a new path rather than simply resting for a weekend. Earlier retreats in this series have been described as healing and empowering journeys of self-reclamation, and The Becoming continues in that spirit.
Kundalini yoga is the core practice. It works with breath, movement, sound and meditation, and it is the same tradition the organizer teaches in weekly classes and in full moon, new moon and seasonal ceremonies. Ceremony is the other central element, and these gatherings are known for being held in a circle of women where people can release what they are carrying and name what they are moving toward.
The shape of the retreat is a weekend. It begins in the evening, and the final session ends at four in the afternoon on the last day. Its spring timing suits the theme of beginnings.
The Setting
The retreat takes place in the Avalon Rooms at Goddess House in Glastonbury, Somerset. Glastonbury is long associated with Avalon and with goddess traditions, and the organizer describes it as sacred land. Holding a retreat about renewal and returning to yourself in this town is part of the point. Earlier editions have used the Avalon Room at the Goddess Temple on the High Street in Glastonbury, so the series has a settled home in the town.
Before You Go
Places on this retreat go quickly. The earlier retreats in the series have sold out, and the 2026 autumn retreat was full well ahead of time, so it is worth planning early if you want to attend. The retreat is for women who feel drawn to Kundalini yoga, goddess ceremony and time among other women, and nothing in the retreat's description suggests you need prior experience of Kundalini yoga to take part.
If you would like a sense of the teaching beforehand, the organizer holds a weekly Embodied Kundalini class at the Goddess Temple in St Leonards on Sea, with in-person and online options. She also leads seasonal and moon ceremonies in St Leonards, Hastings, Brighton and Eastbourne, which make a good introduction to the style and atmosphere of her gatherings.
