Meditation Retreat
Description
Dharma of Spring Awakening is a spiritual retreat held at EarthSpirit Centre in Compton Dundon, Somerset, England, a residential centre set in the countryside of the Somerset Levels, close to Glastonbury. It suits anyone looking for a retreat in the south west of England with time away from daily routine in a quiet rural setting.
The Setting
EarthSpirit Centre is a retreat and workshop venue with a Main Centre and a smaller, self-contained space called Little Earth. Little Earth is a purpose-designed eco centre with single, twin or triple rooms, all ensuite, and a large, light yoga space. The surrounding Somerset countryside is open for walking and resting between sessions, and the Levels have a long history as a place of pilgrimage and contemplation.
Meals at the centre are vegetarian, made with locally sourced and home-grown produce, and the kitchen has catered for dietary restrictions at retreats held there.
Getting There
The nearest train station is Castle Cary. From there, the centre lies a short way into the Somerset countryside near the village of Compton Dundon.
Before You Go
Guests stay on site, so bring comfortable clothing for movement and stillness, and layers and sturdy footwear for walking in the countryside. If you have dietary needs, tell the centre ahead of your stay so the kitchen can plan for you.
