Aquatic Bodywork Certification · Janzu (Casa Arkaana, Mexico)

The Aquatic Bodywork Certification is a residential training in the Janzu technique, taught by Flavio López at Casa Arkaana, a jungle retreat centre in Chemuyil, Mexico, on the Riviera Maya. It is for bodyworkers, therapists and anyone drawn to water-based healing who wants to learn Janzu and receive a certificate. Both Level 1 and Level 2 are taught in a single week, in a cenote-fed pool set in the jungle.

What to Expect

This is an eight-day, seven-night residential certification. Instead of splitting the training across separate trips, the week covers Level 1 and Level 2 of Janzu in sequence, so you finish with both levels completed. The work happens in warm, spring-fed water rather than on a table, surrounded by jungle.

The group is small, with eight places, which means close attention from the teacher and plenty of time in the water. Living on site for the whole training lets the learning settle between sessions, in the quiet of the jungle rather than in a rented classroom.

About Flavio López

Flavio López leads the certification and teaches the Janzu technique at Casa Arkaana. He also teaches Janzu in a weekend format at the same pool, with Level 1 and Level 2 offered as two separate weekends. In that format, Level 1 ends with a reconocimiento and Level 2 ends with the certificate.

The Setting

Casa Arkaana is a retreat house in the jungle near Chemuyil, between Tulum and Akumal. The training takes place in a cenote-fed pool surrounded by old-growth jungle. The centre also hosts yoga, plant medicine, burnout recovery and bodywork retreats, and has a temple, a temazcal and a permaculture kitchen.

Your room and every meal are included in the week, so there is nothing to arrange beyond getting here. Airport transfers are included as well.

Before You Go

The certification is residential, and the fee covers accommodation, all meals and airport transfers. Places are limited to eight. Casa Arkaana can answer questions about prior experience, language of instruction and what to pack, as these are not specified in advance. If you cannot make this week, the weekend format is an alternative way to take the same two levels.
