Men's Healing Retreats and the Hard Work of Asking for Help

From Guy & Ilan Ferdman | Decoding Your Patterns

Watch · 5

A men's healing mastermind outside Phoenix gathered twenty-some men from different professions, ages and lives into one weekend built around emotional, physical and spiritual healing. Two facilitators, Ilan and Guy Ferdman, were there to guide medicine journeys. Coming home, they found the same thread running through the room: nearly everyone was carrying something heavy, and nearly no one wanted to say so out loud. In their conversation on the Old Souls and Seekers podcast, the brothers treat that silence as the real subject, and they trace it through the difficulty of asking for help, the strange comfort of being among strangers, and the discovery that mastery always leads a person back to himself.

What did a weekend with twenty men actually look like?

The conversation opens with Ilan setting the scene. This was his third time being invited to the gathering, and Guy had attended two before. The intention, Ilan said, is "really beautiful" (2:09): bring men together in a container where healing is the explicit point, then do the work side by side. Across the weekend the group took part in several medicine journeys, and Ilan described the experience as one that keeps unlocking something new, both in the way he knows himself and in the way he carries himself in those moments.

Guy, who was fighting an illness he had not wanted to discuss, admitted he was "a lot more under the weather than I let on." It is a small confession, and it sets up the larger one. The men in that room were doing exactly what Guy was doing: functioning, showing up, and keeping the heavier part to themselves.

Guy's first impression was the range of people. He described a man who tried to become the first person to walk solo across Antarctica, on foot rather than with dogs or sleds. He also mentioned a participant who had spent 17 days in a dark room. (Guy said the Antarctica man is creating content about the trip, and the brothers said they plan to have him on the podcast.) For Guy the parallels mattered more than the extremes. Each man, however different his path, was confronting himself in a way that was hard to avoid.

Why does asking for help feel like chewing glass?

The episode's central phrase is the sentence "I really need help," which the brothers describe as feeling like chewing on glass. That image is worth sitting with. Asking for help is not a neutral request. For many men it registers as exposure, as losing the standing they have built, or as admitting that the old strategy of handling everything alone has run out.

The brothers argue that this reluctance is exactly why the retreat matters. When a room full of men is each carrying a private struggle, the isolating instinct becomes a shared pattern, and it becomes visible. The paradox they return to is that vulnerability, which feels like the opposite of strength, is in fact where real strength starts. The men who can say the sentence out loud are the ones who stop spending energy on pretending.

Their framing has a practical edge. The silence is not a character flaw to be lectured away. It is a learned response to pressure, and learned responses can be unlearned, slowly, in rooms where saying the true thing does not cost you your place.

What does it mean to feel safe with a room of strangers?

This is where Guy gets personal, and the disclosure is one of the most honest moments in the conversation. He said he is "fascinated by how comfortable I am now" in a group of strangers, and especially in a group of men. Both of those settings had once been threatening to his nervous system. He described a long history of lacking safety and trust around men, and, more broadly, a sense that he had nothing to contribute among people he did not know.

What struck him was that he had not fully registered the change until he talked it through with Ilan. "I don't even think I acknowledge that honestly" until recently, he said, "how big of an actual deal that is for me." Growth of this kind often happens quietly. A person keeps going into the room, keeps showing up, and only later notices that the room no longer costs him what it used to.

Ilan confirmed the change from the outside. Going back to their earlier years in the marketing world, he recalled Guy in rooms of every kind, alone, in a group, or one-on-one, and said "it all felt very home." Even while Guy was depleted that weekend, Ilan said, watching him was "beautiful." The observation matters because it suggests that comfort in a room is not a performance. It shows in the body and in the ease of how a person occupies space.

Why does every path to mastery return to the self?

One of the sharpest lines in the episode comes from Guy's reflection on the men he has met. He said that people who have reached a state of mastery tend to arrive at similar conclusions, even when they come from entirely different fields. His reasoning is direct: "the only way to become a master is to spiritually deal with yourself." Whether the path runs through technology, physics or physical discipline, there are boundaries to cross, and the crossing requires facing something inside.

That idea reframes the weekend. A man who walks across a continent alone and a man who sits in a dark room for seventeen days are not so different from a man who finally says "I need help" in front of a group. Each is confronting the same question from another angle: what am I still carrying, and am I willing to meet it? Guy said the appeal for him lies in the parallel conclusions, the way different lives converge on the same inner truths.

Ilan also described the medicine work as a place where that inner encounter becomes possible, because the journey strips away the usual defenses. The brothers' larger point is that medicine does not replace the work of self-honesty. It can make the work harder to avoid.

What is Dad Code, and why will it be capped?

Near the end of the episode's description, Ilan reveals the name of his new fathers' group, Dad Code. The group will be capped and wait-list only. The limit is deliberate, and it follows from everything the conversation has been about. A small group makes the kind of safety Guy describes possible. It lets men speak before they feel ready, and it gives them time to be known rather than processed.

The episode also touches on AI, which Guy describes as a shift in how he uses it. The emphasis is on spiritual reflection rather than productivity, a distinction that matters for anyone who has ever used a tool only to get more done. The episode's description lists this topic alongside a range of others, including surrendering to spontaneous body expression in front of strangers, unlearning an identity copied in order to succeed, and what it means to simply be with someone instead of trying to fix them. Those threads deserve the full conversation, which is worth hearing in its original form.

What does the episode leave you with?

Guy and Ilan close on a note that is less a conclusion than an invitation. The silence men keep when life gets hard is widespread, and it is not a weakness to be shamed. It is a pattern with a history, and it can change. The first step is smaller than most men expect: a sentence, spoken to people who can hear it. The brothers' experience suggests that once that sentence gets said, the glass becomes a little easier to swallow.

The episode is shared as personal experience and opinion, not medical or mental health advice. If you are struggling, reach out to a trusted person or a qualified professional.

Where to go from here

If this conversation resonated, the most useful next step is to listen to the full episode, which runs about fifty-four minutes and covers far more than this summary can hold. Pay attention to the moments when the brothers describe their own discomfort, because that is where the practical lessons live. If you are a father interested in the wait-listed group, the episode's show notes and the Ilan's messaging link are the places to start. And if you notice you have been carrying something alone, consider the question Guy's story poses: what would it take to say the true sentence out loud, to someone who can actually hear it?

[0:04] Welcome to the Old Souls and Seekers

[0:05] [music] podcast brought to you by Satori

[0:07] Prime. Satori Prime lives at the

[0:09] intersection of nervous system

[0:11] regulation, somatic healing, and

[0:13] genuine, [music] permanent

[0:15] transformation. And not the kind of

[0:17] transformation that just looks good on

[0:18] the vision board.

[0:19] >> [music]

[0:19] >> The kind that changes how you actually

[0:21] feel in your body every single day. So,

[0:25] if you're someone who's always felt

[0:26] things more [music] deeply than people

[0:28] around you could understand,

[0:30] someone who has spent years searching

[0:32] through books, through teachers, through

[0:33] experiences, [music]

[0:34] and through every modality you could

[0:36] find for something that finally [music]

[0:38] makes the whole thing make sense,

[0:40] someone who knows that real work is not

[0:42] just about acquiring more information,

[0:45] it's about coming home to something

[0:47] [music] you've always known but could

[0:49] never quite reach. If that's you, you're

[0:51] exactly where [music] you need to be.

[0:54] Because in every single episode we go

[0:56] deep into the science, [music] into the

[0:58] spiritual, into the lived experience of

[1:01] actually what it takes to [music] become

[1:02] who you came here to be. No performance,

[1:05] no pretense,

[1:06] >> [music]

[1:06] >> just the conversations that actually

[1:08] move the needle.

[1:10] So, let's dive in.

[1:17] >> [music]

[1:31] >> All right.

[1:32] Hello everyone. Welcome back to another

[1:35] episode of Old Souls and Seekers.

[1:38] Excited to be with you here today. Uh I

[1:40] feel like today's going to be an

[1:41] interesting conversation given that we

[1:43] were just at this event and I'm sure we

[1:44] got some things that we want to share,

[1:46] but um

[1:48] Guy and I were

[1:49] >> Yeah, say it again.

[1:50] >> I was going to say give some context and

[1:52] then

[1:52] >> Yeah, I'm going to, yeah. Yeah, so um

[1:54] Guy and I were at an event, uh a men's

[1:58] mastermind, if you will,

[2:00] this weekend, and

[2:02] this was now the

[2:04] third time that I've been invited. Guy's

[2:06] been to to two of these already.

[2:09] And the intention is really beautiful.

[2:10] It's to bring

[2:13] men from all walks of life,

[2:15] um, all different professions, all

[2:17] different ages, and, uh, get together

[2:20] with really an intention of healing.

[2:23] And what I mean by healing is like

[2:25] healing, uh, emotional, physical,

[2:28] spiritual kind of things that that we're

[2:30] all going through.

[2:32] And then just do it together in this

[2:33] beautiful container. And so,

[2:35] uh, we do

[2:37] a couple of different medicine journeys

[2:39] through throughout the weekend. And, um,

[2:42] the the owner, like the guy who puts

[2:45] these on, invited, uh, Guy and I to

[2:48] facilitate the the journeys, which has

[2:50] been amazing

[2:51] and really rewarding. And so, every time

[2:54] I have one of these experiences,

[2:58] it kind of like unlocks

[3:01] something new, uh, both in myself, in

[3:04] the way that I know myself, and how I

[3:05] kind of like

[3:08] carry myself or hold myself in that. And

[3:09] also just like there's there's always

[3:11] new learnings

[3:13] from everyone there that are really

[3:16] beautiful. So, I know we did the one in

[3:18] Montana. Uh, you weren't at the one, uh,

[3:21] in April,

[3:22] um, here in outside of Phoenix.

[3:25] But, you were that this one. I know you

[3:26] were a little under the weather, so it

[3:28] was probably like a little bit

[3:30] different than what you thought it was

[3:32] going to be.

[3:33] >> I was a lot more under the weather than

[3:34] I let on.

[3:36] >> Yeah.

[3:36] >> I just didn't want to complain about it.

[3:37] >> I could feel I could feel that you were

[3:39] you were definitely, uh, struggling. Uh,

[3:41] we also had to we also had the

[3:43] opportunity of inviting one of our

[3:45] really dear friends to come be there

[3:46] with us, which was amazing.

[3:49] It's so funny that you had the insight

[3:50] to do that. Like, I knew they had so

[3:52] many people that always come that it

[3:56] until Tuesday I was like, I wouldn't

[3:57] even ask cuz like you guys already have

[3:59] such a full house.

[4:00] Uh but it was so beautiful and obviously

[4:03] uh Benny was like such a perfect fit for

[4:05] that that environment. So,

[4:06] >> Yeah.

[4:07] >> Um

[4:08] Yeah, I'm I'm curious um

[4:11] why don't you start? I'm just curious

[4:12] from your your point of view like what

[4:14] were

[4:16] highlights, takeaways, you know,

[4:18] feelings of like being a room like that?

[4:21] >> Yeah. I was uh

[4:22] I was really struck by the broad appeal

[4:27] of different human beings and like what

[4:28] they were up to.

[4:30] Like we were we were there with a guy

[4:33] who tried to be the first person

[4:37] to essentially walk across the continent

[4:39] of Antarctica.

[4:41] >> Okay.

[4:42] >> Like

[4:42] >> Solo.

[4:43] >> Solo.

[4:43] >> Solo.

[4:44] >> This is not like not with dogs. Like

[4:46] this has been done with dogs and stuff

[4:47] like that like sleds but not not on like

[4:49] essentially foot basically.

[4:51] Um

[4:54] That was just

[4:54] >> We're going to We're going to have him

[4:55] on the podcast.

[4:56] >> Yeah, that was a really radical thing.

[4:59] Yeah, he's creating content around that

[5:00] around his trip there. He's done

[5:03] 17 days in in a dark room which is

[5:05] pretty extraordinary and you know,

[5:07] challenges himself and funny enough like

[5:13] like the way he was challenging himself,

[5:14] you know, I've kind of done that more

[5:16] through the psychedelic space. Feel like

[5:18] I was to meet myself in some of those

[5:19] very same places just not in

[5:22] potentially quite as life threatening as

[5:24] what he's doing but

[5:26] nevertheless.

[5:27] And then there I felt like there was

[5:30] every time I would drop in with somebody

[5:31] and really get to know them, I felt like

[5:33] there was these beautiful extremes of

[5:36] what they were up to in life.

[5:37] And then what I always love about people

[5:39] who are in a state of mastery is that

[5:42] everyone comes to similar conclusions

[5:44] just through different avenues of life.

[5:47] Because like the spiritual truths and

[5:48] undertones

[5:50] when you're at it like whenever you're

[5:51] in the state of mastery you have to deal

[5:52] with yourself.

[5:54] Like the the only way to become a master

[5:56] is to spiritually deal with yourself,

[5:58] right? Like there's no other way whether

[5:59] you're doing it through technology or

[6:00] physics or or or or physicality like

[6:03] there's just boundaries you have to

[6:04] cross and there's certain things that

[6:06] you have to face in order to cross those

[6:08] boundaries and so I always find the

[6:11] appeal of the parallel nature of what

[6:14] conclusions people have come to or you

[6:15] know what they're exploring in their

[6:16] lives maybe not conclusions

[6:18] is like really appealing to me that I

[6:20] love that so much.

[6:22] So that really really struck me but for

[6:24] me on the personal note

[6:25] um

[6:27] I'm like fascinated by how comfortable I

[6:30] am now in a group of strangers

[6:34] uh specifically in a group of men also

[6:37] on top of that both of those things in

[6:39] in my past have been quite threatening

[6:41] to my system.

[6:43] Men especially um like really like a

[6:46] lack of safety and trust around men um

[6:49] but just strangers as a whole like for

[6:51] me like to be in a group of 20 got

[6:52] people and feel like totally comfortable

[6:54] in myself and

[6:55] happy to explore conversations with

[6:57] anybody and not reserved and I feel like

[6:59] I don't have like something to

[7:00] contribute or anything like that like

[7:02] that like so much of my past lives in

[7:04] that space so for me like I don't even

[7:07] think I

[7:08] even acknowledge that honestly until

[7:09] like this conversation or the one we had

[7:11] prior um

[7:13] like how big of an actual deal that is

[7:15] for me

[7:16] um so that's just some you know

[7:19] early takeaways.

[7:21] >> Yeah, I remember even just

[7:24] again perceiving you when we were in the

[7:27] marketing days in the marketing world

[7:29] and we would be in rooms like that

[7:31] um there was still like

[7:34] a a a

[7:36] huge difference like you were so much

[7:38] more comfortable in in space

[7:42] um

[7:42] whether you were like just sitting on

[7:44] your own, whether you were sitting in a

[7:45] group, whether you're sitting with

[7:46] someone one-on-one, it was just like it

[7:48] all felt very home.

[7:51] >> Organic.

[7:51] >> Uh watching you even though I knew you

[7:52] were like under-resourced and, you know,

[7:54] like

[7:55] your energy level was was not where you

[7:57] would normally be, but it was just it

[7:59] was beautiful to watch.

[8:01] Um

[8:02] yeah, for me

[8:05] though we were first brought on to one

[8:08] of the events to uh facilitate uh

[8:11] medicine journeys over there.

[8:13] And since And after that, you know,

[8:15] every single time he's been like, "Hey,

[8:16] would you come? Would you come? Would

[8:17] you come?" And so every time I've gotten

[8:19] to uh offer medicine to to men, most of

[8:24] whom I didn't know when I did it. So

[8:26] like

[8:27] when I'm usually working with someone,

[8:28] like I have some sort of background of

[8:30] relatedness of what they're up to, who

[8:32] they are, what they're working on, et

[8:34] cetera. And so when we go into the

[8:35] journey, it's like I already have so

[8:37] much background that it's like the

[8:39] medicine just kind of like highlights

[8:41] and it allows us to just delete, move

[8:43] this, you know, shift it to the like

[8:44] it's really fast.

[8:46] And it's usually in a smaller container.

[8:48] This is, you know, we probably had

[8:51] let's say, I mean, there was 20-some-odd

[8:53] guys, but I think there was only about

[8:54] like 13 or 14 probably that that

[8:56] participated.

[8:58] Um

[9:00] but I think for me, like the the two

[9:03] biggest takeaways this time were

[9:06] first and foremost

[9:10] I I believe that men are terrible

[9:15] at asking for support.

[9:17] I think in general, like humans are

[9:19] terrible at asking for support. And I

[9:22] think women in general

[9:25] probably just because of the disposition

[9:27] of women, right? Like

[9:28] uh Alison Armstrong always used to say,

[9:30] you know, like berry picking. So men

[9:32] would go out and we hunt, but like we

[9:33] hunt in silence because you you to stay

[9:35] silent to make sure that you catch the

[9:38] animal. So, we might go out in a group,

[9:40] but you're kind of on your own within

[9:41] the group. Women on the other hand, it's

[9:43] like when they went berry picking

[9:45] because they're smaller, they needed to

[9:47] make a lot of noise. So, there's always

[9:48] conversation, they're always

[9:49] interacting.

[9:50] >> Mhm.

[9:51] >> I look at even my daughter and my son.

[9:54] My daughter has friends.

[9:56] They're talking on the phone all the

[9:58] time. All the like all the time.

[10:01] My son like he never talks to his

[10:03] friends on the phone. Right? Like

[10:04] they'll get together, they'll they'll

[10:06] play video games, they make jokes here

[10:08] and there, but they're not like talking.

[10:10] >> Yeah.

[10:11] >> So, I think in general men are not as

[10:13] good at

[10:15] creating community.

[10:17] Um and the thing that I even brought up

[10:19] and and many of the men

[10:21] had said yes that this was true is

[10:25] we when we are struggling, when we are

[10:28] in pain, when we are going through

[10:30] something, we tend to isolate and go

[10:32] into figure it out mode.

[10:35] And we are just like, okay, I'm going to

[10:37] go I'm not going to let anyone see me

[10:38] when I'm like this. I need to figure my

[10:40] [ __ ] out and I'll come back out

[10:42] when I've gotten my [ __ ] together and I

[10:44] figured it out.

[10:45] >> Yeah.

[10:46] >> Which is

[10:48] the worst thing that you can possibly do

[10:51] as a human, not just a man, as a human.

[10:54] But we are so predisposed to that and so

[10:58] what I love about this container

[11:04] is that all of us are going through

[11:06] something. Like I didn't sit with anyone

[11:08] this entire weekend that's not going

[11:10] through something in their lives,

[11:11] whether it's with their spouse, whether

[11:13] it's with their kids, whether it's with

[11:14] their business, whether it's with their

[11:16] health. Everyone had something that they

[11:18] came to work on.

[11:19] >> Yeah.

[11:20] >> And the beauty of like walking through

[11:22] the door and not having this like look

[11:25] at me and how [ __ ] amazing I am and I

[11:27] have this business and I do do do do.

[11:28] Like all that was just washed away and

[11:31] people showed up and were like,

[11:33] vulnerable and open, and curious, and

[11:37] asking questions, and really you could

[11:40] feel like that there was an intention

[11:43] of wanting to grow and learn in some

[11:45] way. And they left all their ego out the

[11:48] door and were like, I'm here to receive.

[11:51] I'm here to offer whatever I can offer,

[11:54] but I'm just like this open thing. And I

[11:56] think that is so

[11:58] rare today.

[12:00] Because even like, you know, when we go

[12:02] to these marketing events, right? It was

[12:04] in a sense of like, let me show you how

[12:06] brilliant I am and why you should think

[12:07] that I'm the best [ __ ] marketer and

[12:09] blah blah blah. Like,

[12:10] in this room there were people who are

[12:12] doing amazing things. Like, so brilliant

[12:15] that when you sit and talk to them, your

[12:17] brain literally like explodes. You're

[12:19] like, oh my god.

[12:20] But they're not doing it from a place of

[12:22] like, let me show you how [ __ ] great

[12:24] I am. It was just like, hey, this cuz

[12:26] you ask them a question, they're like,

[12:28] this is what I'm up to. And you're just

[12:29] sitting there like, you're doing what?

[12:31] >> [laughter]

[12:32] >> Right?

[12:32] >> Nonchalant, yeah.

[12:33] >> Yeah. So, that was amazing and just

[12:38] I was really present to how rare that

[12:40] is.

[12:41] >> Yeah.

[12:41] >> That that meant that

[12:43] >> I kind of want to change that. I I don't

[12:44] know that that's as rare anymore. Like,

[12:46] you know, the the level of the level of

[12:48] conversation, the level of

[12:49] consciousness, the level of cultivation,

[12:52] like, I just find that like there's just

[12:54] so many much more of that these days.

[12:57] >> There is.

[12:57] >> I I was just like struck. I'm like, this

[12:59] is just Like, and then obviously people

[13:01] end there like end up there, right?

[13:02] Like, it's like your friends about your

[13:03] friends, that kind of thing. You kind of

[13:05] know what you're getting.

[13:06] But for the most part, it's like the

[13:09] the conversation just really shifted.

[13:10] There's a lot more people

[13:12] curious about, you know, pretty high-end

[13:15] stuff.

[13:16] And it feels like it feels different

[13:17] than it was just 5 or 10 years ago,

[13:19] honestly. Like, there's just a lot

[13:20] There's a lot more of that. I think it's

[13:22] also like

[13:23] I think there is kind of a struggle in

[13:25] humanity at the moment.

[13:28] Either either it's happening to you or

[13:30] you kind of know it's happening to you.

[13:32] Like I really feel like I talked to some

[13:34] people and I'm like

[13:37] I'm like AI is coming for you. Like I

[13:39] that's kind of how I just felt it in my

[13:40] body. Like it's like this like wave

[13:43] that's going to like take out everyone's

[13:44] legs and like some people are like

[13:45] dealing with that and some people are

[13:46] like kind of

[13:48] pretending like that's not going to

[13:49] happen to them. Like they're

[13:51] you know, I had a lot of stuff come up

[13:52] around

[13:53] you know, how AI is like kind of

[13:55] infiltrating our lives and how much more

[13:57] that's going to happen. And it well I

[13:59] wasn't particularly scared about it. I

[14:01] was actually quite excited about it.

[14:04] Because it made me feel like it's this

[14:06] opportunity to be a conductor in my life

[14:09] versus a worker bee.

[14:10] And I see how much I'm like conducting

[14:12] the space right now, which is

[14:14] really new for me as a person who's like

[14:15] never asked for support suddenly have

[14:17] this technology.

[14:18] And I didn't tell you this, but when I

[14:20] went to bed on the last night, I had

[14:22] like

[14:24] I had like kind of a download like what

[14:26] I might be doing next

[14:28] uh in the world and I realized through a

[14:30] number of conversations

[14:32] that how I'm thinking, using, feeling,

[14:34] perceiving AI is very different than

[14:36] your average human being.

[14:38] And like I had people have like some

[14:40] pretty eye-popping

[14:42] moments with me around that. And I I

[14:44] kind of realized that that conversation

[14:46] may need to be needed to be had because

[14:47] there's so much doom and gloom

[14:50] around AI and I actually think it's

[14:53] potentially one of the most I mean

[14:55] obviously it's the a very radical

[14:57] opportunity for us.

[14:58] Um

[15:00] But for the layman person,

[15:04] I've never been more excited in my

[15:05] entire life about the opportunity that's

[15:06] sitting in front of them about what this

[15:08] technology can provide for them in terms

[15:10] of their own spiritual growth.

[15:12] And so I really really got this hit that

[15:13] I was supposed to like like that's maybe

[15:15] what I kind of lean into is like I start

[15:17] having

[15:19] like kind of how to use like you know,

[15:21] AI for spiritual reflection and game,

[15:23] like how would you approach that? Uh And

[15:25] I like my body like lit up like a

[15:27] Christmas tree when that thought came

[15:28] in.

[15:29] So I was really excited about that. And

[15:31] I was like, oh, that's a that would be

[15:32] interesting

[15:34] and such a different take than here's a

[15:35] tool, here's how you use it better.

[15:37] >> Yeah.

[15:37] >> Um

[15:38] and like, you know, again, I've had

[15:40] these conversations many times over the

[15:41] last 2 years and I just see like

[15:43] people's eyes get really big and they

[15:44] kind of like pop and start shaking and

[15:46] they're like, I got to go home and try

[15:47] this and do this thing and I'm like,

[15:49] yeah, yeah, yeah, like this is this is

[15:50] no joke what's in front of us right now.

[15:53] So that was kind of a exciting little

[15:55] um

[15:56] little opportunity. But yeah, I was I

[15:58] was

[16:02] I agree with you. Do you remember that

[16:03] book, The Female Brain? Did you ever

[16:04] read that years ago?

[16:06] >> I think I did, yeah.

[16:08] >> Yeah. So it was like a book like in

[16:11] right at the turn of the century, came

[16:12] out like in the early 2000s.

[16:14] And it was kind of like, you know, when

[16:15] neuroscience and MRIs and all those kind

[16:17] of stuff were starting to or fMRIs were

[16:19] starting to come out and they were

[16:21] starting to to track these things better

[16:23] and I remember it said that the um

[16:26] the female brain or the female uses on

[16:28] average about 50,000 words per day and a

[16:31] male uses something like tens of

[16:32] thousands. I don't remember.

[16:33] >> It was something like 8,000 words per

[16:34] day for like a male. But I remember that

[16:36] it forgave that if a female brain

[16:39] for the communication is an eight-lane

[16:41] eight-lane super highway, a male's brain

[16:44] for communication is a dirt country

[16:45] road.

[16:47] >> Yeah.

[16:47] >> Like that was the difference between the

[16:48] two and I was like, okay, we're like

[16:50] really just stunted in this area of

[16:51] life.

[16:53] >> Exactly. Yeah. But that's why, you know,

[16:55] when when I'm around men specifically,

[16:58] and again, I think even in our

[17:00] community, for those of you guys that

[17:02] are more recent to our community, when

[17:03] Guy and I first started, um you know, 15

[17:06] years ago, and we started coaching,

[17:09] I would venture to say that 80% of the

[17:12] people that we worked with were men.

[17:15] And now if you come into our community,

[17:16] it's almost like flipped. It's probably

[17:18] like 70% women I would say now.

[17:22] And that's I think that's testament to

[17:24] the the level of work that we've done.

[17:26] We first we were very

[17:28] cognitive, very like result-oriented,

[17:32] you know,

[17:33] uh thought-based transformation. I think

[17:36] now because we've done a lot more

[17:37] somatic and energetic, we probably

[17:39] attract very different and I think women

[17:40] are just more uh open to stuff like

[17:42] that. But whenever I'm in these groups,

[17:45] I'm just in awe

[17:48] of the de-armoring that that happens and

[17:51] how vulnerable and open people are. And

[17:53] the thing that I took away is like if I

[17:56] think of moments throughout the weekend

[17:58] where I felt like

[18:04] I was really able to support and like

[18:06] someone really let me in.

[18:07] >> Mhm.

[18:08] >> I think the root of that was a

[18:10] vulnerability of like, "Hey, can I get

[18:12] support right now?"

[18:14] And

[18:17] to me, I'm like

[18:19] when people talk about strength and

[18:21] courage and power, to me now that is the

[18:25] ultimate in strength, courage, and

[18:27] power.

[18:27] >> Vulnerability. Just being able to be

[18:28] vulnerable.

[18:29] >> Yeah.

[18:29] >> Yeah. Like like really being able to be

[18:31] vulnerable and and and asking for

[18:33] support. What cuz I know even for me

[18:37] with all the work that I've done,

[18:39] there's still this feeling sometimes

[18:40] when you're in it where like saying the

[18:43] words like, "I really need help." almost

[18:45] feels like you're like chewing on glass

[18:47] a little bit and you're like, "I want to

[18:49] say it." and everything inside is like

[18:52] you know?

[18:54] Um so I I just really honored the the

[18:57] the men that came and asked cuz it was

[18:59] just like such a beautiful reflection.

[19:02] And um and then the two other things

[19:04] that were really amazing for me is

[19:07] uh people really pulled me aside and and

[19:10] like told me how I showed up for them.

[19:12] Mhm.

[19:14] And the word that came up a lot was like

[19:18] the word unique and like one of a kind.

[19:21] And they would like really like sit

[19:22] there and make sure that I got it. And

[19:24] they were like

[19:25] I really need you to get like I have

[19:27] never met anyone like you.

[19:28] >> Wow.

[19:29] >> Like that. You know, and I'm just

[19:30] sitting there and I'm like

[19:33] I want to receive. I want to receive,

[19:34] but everything inside is like nah.

[19:36] Um

[19:37] so, I had at least three of these

[19:39] moments where I just sat down and I was

[19:40] like okay.

[19:42] Receive, receive, receive, receive,

[19:43] receive. Um and that was really

[19:45] beautiful. That's really cool.

[19:47] >> Can I ask you a quick question on that?

[19:48] >> Yeah.

[19:49] >> Cuz I actually wasn't around much when

[19:50] you were, you know, working with people

[19:52] at least on the first day. Um was that

[19:55] Did that happen organically? Did you go

[19:58] over there and ask them? Like how did

[19:59] the How did the facilitation happen?

[20:02] >> Like me working with people or them

[20:04] coming and telling me?

[20:05] >> Yeah, yeah. No, the the first part had

[20:07] it Well, obviously they told you after.

[20:08] Yeah.

[20:09] >> So, um

[20:12] I'll just [clears throat] I don't know.

[20:13] I don't give a [ __ ] if like we can sit

[20:15] talk about this on the podcast or not.

[20:16] So, uh the first journey that I

[20:18] facilitated was uh MDMA journey. And my

[20:23] for whatever reason, similar to

[20:25] ayahuasca, like when I'm on that

[20:27] medicine I would say even more than aya

[20:29] because aya can sometimes take me in

[20:30] like a lot of different directions.

[20:32] >> Yeah.

[20:32] >> But you know that feeling that we get

[20:34] when we're on aya and we're like

[20:35] everything is so clear.

[20:38] >> Yeah, the clarity.

[20:38] >> You can [ __ ] like

[20:40] it Whatever that extra sense that we get

[20:43] where like you can feel things in the

[20:45] space.

[20:46] >> Mhm.

[20:47] >> When I'm on

[20:48] like a like a low dose of MDMA, that

[20:50] that's basically what I feel.

[20:52] >> Super super dialed in. Yeah.

[20:54] >> Yeah, it's like a super

[20:56] felt sense where I could be sitting

[20:58] here, but like I can feel someone there.

[21:00] And so, I kind of like my the energy

[21:02] takes me there. So, a lot of the times

[21:04] it would just be I'd like walk around

[21:07] and then

[21:08] spirit would just be like, here.

[21:10] >> Yeah.

[21:11] >> And I would just sit. And like one time

[21:14] I was sitting with this guy,

[21:16] and he starts talking, and I was like, I

[21:18] felt something. I was like, is it okay

[21:19] if I just

[21:20] transmit something to you so you can

[21:22] feel it? And he's like, sure. And I

[21:23] literally all I did was I put my hand on

[21:26] his thigh. He was laying down. And um

[21:30] I just went like deep you know, like

[21:31] transmitted like deep deep earth energy

[21:34] so his system could just settle. And as

[21:36] I did that and he found that

[21:38] something just literally like cracked

[21:40] open in his system, and he just started

[21:43] like firing this energy all through his

[21:45] body where it was like shaking, but in a

[21:47] good way, not like

[21:49] it was just so much energy running

[21:50] through him. And he like pops up, eyes

[21:52] open, he's like, what the [ __ ] is

[21:54] happening? I was like, this is what

[21:56] energy actually feels like when it's

[21:57] running through the body. But it was so

[22:00] shocking to him because most of us are

[22:02] so stuck up here that when you take

[22:04] someone into the body, and especially

[22:06] when they're in MDMA, it's like you just

[22:08] feel things so much deeper.

[22:11] And so he sat there for like 15, 20, 30

[22:13] minutes, however long it is. He walked

[22:15] up after, he's like,

[22:16] he goes, Elon, I have never felt

[22:18] anything like that. And I was like, but

[22:20] it was pleasant, right? He was like, at

[22:22] first I didn't even know what it was,

[22:23] but then when you said like this is

[22:25] okay, I just kind of rested into it. I

[22:27] was like, that's your body naturally

[22:29] healing and releasing. Like that's what

[22:31] you you don't even have to be a part of

[22:32] it. It's just literally just doing it

[22:34] for you. He was like, that was the

[22:35] craziest thing I've ever experienced.

[22:37] So, I think for me when I'm in that

[22:40] space,

[22:42] it's like spirit just

[22:45] >> Yeah. Finds its way.

[22:46] >> to where I need to be.

[22:48] >> Finds its way, yeah.

[22:49] >> Um there were

[22:51] once or twice where people like kind of

[22:53] like raised their hand and were like,

[22:54] hey, would you would you work with me?

[22:56] Um which was fine, but a lot of the

[22:57] times it was just kind of like led.

[22:59] >> Yeah. Yeah. Cool.

[23:01] >> Um and then the last thing the last

[23:04] thing I just want to share kind of like

[23:06] with you with your insight was

[23:08] uh, I think I shared before that I'm I'm

[23:10] really being called to work with fathers

[23:12] and and start this group and so

[23:14] what's been cool about this is I've

[23:15] really just been trusting the energy

[23:17] around this. I haven't I'm not like oh,

[23:19] I got to come up with the formula and I

[23:21] got to come up with the program and like

[23:22] I'm not doing any of that stuff. I I

[23:24] really I'm just like show me. Show me,

[23:26] show me, show me and it really has been

[23:28] shown to me.

[23:30] But it didn't have a name.

[23:32] I I didn't have like a name for the the

[23:34] uh, the group and the container.

[23:37] And all of the sudden I'm like sitting

[23:38] there one one day. I don't even remember

[23:41] which day. I think it was the first day.

[23:43] And I just start to see it was like the

[23:45] Matrix. You know, like when the when the

[23:48] >> Pieces of the uh,

[23:49] >> computer code comes in

[23:51] >> Mhm.

[23:51] >> and it was like dad code.

[23:53] >> Mhm.

[23:54] >> And I was [laughter] like ooh, cool. Dad

[23:55] code and like the word sounded really

[23:57] cool to me.

[23:58] And then I shared it with someone

[24:00] and they were like, oh, I love it

[24:02] because code can mean so many different

[24:04] things. It's like

[24:06] >> right like honor code, code like

[24:09] code like the code that you see on

[24:11] screens.

[24:12] >> Right.

[24:12] >> Um, code of men,

[24:14] um, code for like how like what is the

[24:17] code for your children for your spouse

[24:19] this and that. So it was like all these

[24:20] different ways and I was like, oh, this

[24:22] is really cool.

[24:23] Um, and then the other piece that that

[24:25] came through was that this is going to

[24:26] be a very exclusive community with like

[24:28] a set amount of I don't have the number

[24:31] yet like 77, 111 like these are two

[24:33] numbers that kind of showed up. But it's

[24:35] like capped.

[24:37] So the group will always be this certain

[24:40] number and then like

[24:41] if you want in, the only way to get in

[24:43] is on a waitlist and then like if

[24:45] someone were to leave like the next

[24:46] person in line has the opportunity.

[24:48] >> Yeah.

[24:48] >> And the idea is that like I want to

[24:50] build a community

[24:53] that people want to grow and support

[24:55] each other on this journey of life that

[24:58] we are as men. That it's not just like

[25:00] you're in it for 6 months and you jump,

[25:01] you know, like

[25:03] how cool would it be if a bunch of us go

[25:05] on this ride for 5, 6, 20, whatever

[25:07] years and like support each other as our

[25:09] kids are at different ages, right? So

[25:11] then you're like

[25:12] now my kids are 15, but for someone who

[25:14] their kids are like

[25:16] eight, you know, I'm all of a sudden the

[25:19] person that they would look to and be

[25:20] like, "Yo, you've done this before. Like

[25:22] what did you learn?"

[25:24] >> Yeah.

[25:25] >> And if other people

[25:26] >> really I would really use like

[25:27] numerology or gene keys.

[25:29] >> Yeah.

[25:29] >> And you can like, you know, create a

[25:30] program for this quite easily these days

[25:32] and then like run people through that

[25:34] and make sure there's like a really good

[25:37] um

[25:38] rounded base. So like everywhere

[25:40] everywhere has like mastering those

[25:42] different areas. But yeah, that sounds

[25:44] really, really cool. Like people signing

[25:45] up to be like, you know, in each other's

[25:47] lives for a number of years

[25:48] and supporting at that level.

[25:50] >> I think it's really cool to

[25:53] be in a place in your life where you can

[25:55] support other people. So you're like the

[25:57] the mentor and the student all always on

[26:00] all the different areas.

[26:02] Um

[26:03] >> Great. It's awesome.

[26:04] >> So yeah, so that was like really cool

[26:06] and it felt like this missing piece that

[26:08] I hadn't had and the second it came

[26:10] through I was like, "Oh my god, it's so

[26:11] clear." And you know, I was sharing it

[26:12] with some of the guys there and like,

[26:13] "That's [ __ ] amazing. Like you let me

[26:16] know when that thing's kicking off and

[26:17] and what it looks like." So

[26:19] um

[26:22] Quick pause before we keep going.

[26:24] >> [music]

[26:24] >> If what we're talking about in this

[26:26] episode is landing for you, if you're

[26:28] feeling that pull towards something

[26:29] [music] deeper, something that goes

[26:31] beyond just information and actually

[26:33] moves things into your [music] body, I

[26:35] want to tell you about a live training

[26:36] the guy and I do almost every week. It's

[26:39] called Rich and Regulated Workshop

[26:40] [music]

[26:41] and it's the place where everything we

[26:43] teach on this show becomes something you

[26:45] [music] actually experience rather than

[26:47] just understand.

[26:48] In one live session we walk you through

[26:50] the core nervous system framework that

[26:52] has changed thousands of lives, not as a

[26:55] lecture, but as a direct embodied

[26:57] experience.

[26:59] You leave with your nervous system

[27:00] actually shifted, not just your thinking

[27:03] about your nervous [music] system. So,

[27:05] if you're ready to stop collecting

[27:07] insights and start actually integrating

[27:09] them,

[27:09] come join us live. Simply [music] go to

[27:11] satoriprime.com/workshop.

[27:15] Again, that's satoriprime.com/workshop.

[27:19] We look forward to seeing you there

[27:20] live. Now, let's get back to it.

[27:37] >> Yeah, it just um

[27:39] I I I always walk away from these

[27:40] things, especially because we're in a

[27:42] group that

[27:43] these people don't know us. You know,

[27:44] like when we were in Luminous for a long

[27:46] time,

[27:47] it's like people get to know you,

[27:50] they know who you are. It's wonderful

[27:52] when you're there and you get the

[27:53] reflections, but it's like you walk into

[27:54] a space that no one knows you from a

[27:56] hole in the wall.

[27:58] >> And you still see like how you're

[28:00] received and how you show up. I don't

[28:02] know if

[28:03] maybe it's just my head, but like those

[28:05] reflections somehow

[28:07] land different because it's like they

[28:09] don't know you.

[28:10] >> Yeah.

[28:11] I had a point where I went to the

[28:12] kitchen and somebody asked me something

[28:13] about plant medicine. I started talking.

[28:15] Before I know it, there's like 12 guys

[28:17] standing around me.

[28:18] >> Yeah, exactly.

[28:19] >> You know, and then uh like Greg walks in

[28:21] and one of the guys is like, "Oh, this

[28:23] is a really great Greg. Like, I can

[28:24] listen to guy talk about this [ __ ] all

[28:25] day."

[28:26] I [laughter] was like, "That's really

[28:27] kind. That's really nice. That's really

[28:28] That's really sweet."

[28:30] You know.

[28:30] >> Yeah.

[28:30] >> Uh yeah, again, like I can listen to

[28:32] that guy talk about walking across

[28:34] Antarctica all day long for the same

[28:35] reason. Like, when someone's challenged

[28:36] themselves

[28:38] at that level, I'm just fascinated by

[28:40] their like psychology, what brought them

[28:42] there, what their spiritual background

[28:43] is, like what motivates that. But then I

[28:45] think to myself, I've been doing that

[28:46] for like 20 years now and in in my own

[28:48] way and I'm like and I don't know what

[28:50] motivates that.

[28:51] >> [laughter]

[28:52] >> And anymore than anybody else, but like,

[28:54] you know, clearly even when I drove up

[28:56] with that guy and he was a healer in his

[28:58] own right, he was just like fascinated

[29:00] cuz he was telling me about like certain

[29:01] clients and I'm like, "Oh yeah, yeah."

[29:03] and I started like naming stuff and he's

[29:04] like, "How would you know that about

[29:05] him?" I'm like,

[29:07] >> I I I I don't even know how I know, but

[29:09] I know.

[29:09] >> like he'd tell me about a client and I'm

[29:10] like, "I bet you he looks like this. I

[29:11] bet you he says that. I bet you has

[29:12] these issues." He's like, "What?"

[29:15] And then he was asking me, he's like,

[29:16] "So how would you deal with that?" And I

[29:17] gave him a few pointers. He's like, "Oh,

[29:18] that's really good."

[29:20] And I just realized, you know, between

[29:22] like Andrew Lumina's, etc., Landmark, I

[29:24] mean, a lot of it is just pattern

[29:25] recognition at this point in time.

[29:27] >> Exactly.

[29:27] >> And having done so many of the the the

[29:29] the work myself like so many thousands

[29:31] of times,

[29:32] I remember we used to say like, you

[29:34] know, when you um

[29:35] when you start personal development,

[29:36] it's like you have a dirty carpet.

[29:39] Doing the work is like cleaning up that

[29:40] carpet.

[29:41] You have this like white pristine carpet

[29:43] that you spend a long time

[29:44] toothbrushing, you know, all the dirt

[29:45] away, but then somebody walks into your

[29:47] house with like a dirty pair of boots

[29:49] and they step on your white carpet and

[29:50] you're like, "Oh yeah, yeah, like I know

[29:51] that dirt. I used to bring that I used

[29:53] to bring that dirt in here, too, you

[29:54] know?" And like it still feels that way

[29:56] to me. I'm like, "Yeah, I just know that

[29:57] dirt." Like cuz I have that dirt and

[30:00] I've cleaned up that dirt, you know, to

[30:01] the extent that I can, so I just

[30:02] recognize it when it's here.

[30:04] But I remember like same thing with like

[30:06] and Lisa, you know, years ago when she

[30:07] would do her thing and I'm like, "How

[30:08] the [ __ ]

[30:10] >> I know.

[30:10] >> could she possibly know those things

[30:12] about a person?" And like even that is

[30:14] like slowly seeping into my as lived

[30:17] like another point of like healthy pride

[30:19] for me this past weekend was we were

[30:21] when we were working with those guys on

[30:23] the second day.

[30:24] My hand was doing all the weird [ __ ]

[30:26] that it does.

[30:27] And then like at some point

[30:29] like my my ego zoomed out and realized

[30:32] like there was a lot of people watching.

[30:34] >> Yeah.

[30:35] >> And there was like a literally like a

[30:36] half of a second of a moment of going,

[30:38] "The [ __ ] am I doing right now?"

[30:40] >> Yeah.

[30:41] >> And then there were the next moment it

[30:42] was and I don't really care at all. Like

[30:44] it is it just is what it is. Where like

[30:46] in the past I would have never

[30:49] expressed myself that way in a room full

[30:51] of strangers.

[30:52] >> Yeah.

[30:52] >> Uh or even try to explain what was

[30:54] happening in that moment cuz like I I

[30:56] forget that this is not normal.

[30:58] >> That [laughter]

[30:59] >> And there's like I just put these words

[31:00] out of my mouth and I'm doing stuff like

[31:01] that.

[31:01] >> so used to it.

[31:03] >> Yeah, but then like I like it didn't

[31:04] even occur to me while we were doing it

[31:05] until like a like a quite a bit later.

[31:08] Like that this is like everyone's just

[31:09] like watching this happen right now and

[31:10] they have no context for what is this

[31:13] weird ass [ __ ] that's happening in this

[31:14] room, but you know, it was received

[31:16] really beautifully and with a lot of

[31:17] curiosity and I was like, yeah, you

[31:19] know, like

[31:20] when you're in your stuff, like it

[31:21] doesn't even matter what it looks like

[31:22] as long as you're like honoring honestly

[31:24] where you're at and who you are,

[31:26] it's always kind of beautiful.

[31:28] >> I mean, I was sitting that night um and

[31:30] Jose was was sitting there and he was

[31:32] like, I just got to tell you something.

[31:33] I was like, sure. He goes,

[31:35] "Watching you and Guy work with Ryan was

[31:38] like

[31:41] He was like, it was the most beautiful

[31:42] expression of humanity. It's like all I

[31:45] felt from you guys is you were with him

[31:48] every second of that entire process.

[31:51] Just holding him in presence and love."

[31:54] He goes, "I've never seen that." And I

[31:56] was like, I know, because that's not

[31:59] the way that people are trained

[32:01] to to receive that kind of energy.

[32:03] >> Right? And it's

[32:04] >> be just to just to be with each other,

[32:06] period.

[32:06] >> Yeah.

[32:07] >> Like not to explain, not to you know,

[32:08] not to not to figure stuff out, just

[32:10] like really being. Beingness is a really

[32:13] confusing thing because it just so often

[32:15] gets overlaid with doing.

[32:17] >> Yeah.

[32:18] >> Yeah.

[32:19] >> And I, you know, you and I like we've

[32:21] we've had the opportunity to to work

[32:23] like that with other people and every

[32:25] time that that we do, it is just it

[32:28] brings me so much joy cuz I have the

[32:29] same thing where I like I have like the

[32:31] the observer just watching and at some

[32:34] point TK came over and he's like,

[32:35] "What's he doing with this hand?" And

[32:36] I'm like trying to explain I'm like, "I

[32:37] can't explain to you. Like, I don't

[32:38] know. You like, we're feeling energy and

[32:39] this and this. He's like, "So, do you

[32:41] know what's happening?" I was like,

[32:41] "Yeah, I know exactly [laughter] what's

[32:42] happening." But,

[32:44] um and I just when we're in that dance

[32:48] together, it feels so cool. It's like,

[32:52] um

[32:54] it feels like there's no end to

[32:58] the person. Like, there's no there's no

[33:01] distance between me and you. There's no

[33:02] distance between the person that we're

[33:04] working on. There's this like

[33:05] amalgamation of energy that is just

[33:07] moving and we're like doing this this

[33:09] dance and just orchestrated and just

[33:12] being led and I still to this day, I sit

[33:15] back and I'm like, if this is so [ __ ]

[33:17] cool.

[33:19] >> Yeah.

[33:19] >> Yeah. So, it was really really beautiful

[33:22] and

[33:23] and then obviously, you see the impact,

[33:25] right? Like, you see the impact on

[33:26] people and what they're able to release

[33:28] and all that stuff and um

[33:31] yeah. I'm I'm always blown away by by

[33:34] the level of this work.

[33:35] >> Yeah. I think once we we were in like

[33:37] the mystery school

[33:39] and I realized like the weird shitathon

[33:41] doesn't just happen in medicine circles.

[33:43] Like, that is literally everyday life is

[33:46] this giant weird shitathon.

[33:48] Um and like healing just looks

[33:51] really extraordinary and like big

[33:53] expression and like wild stuff. Like,

[33:56] yeah, even when we were working um

[33:59] on that second day, I was like so proud

[34:01] of him for like letting it express the

[34:04] way that he did. And it's funny, we were

[34:05] in the car later on and he was driving

[34:07] me to the airport and he's like, "That

[34:08] part for me is easy."

[34:09] Like, the body expression is like that

[34:11] like he like that's not even a little

[34:13] bit weird for him. That's just how he

[34:14] does it. But, then there's like other

[34:15] stuff that was like really edgy for him

[34:17] in that experience. It's like it's

[34:18] really interesting to find, you know,

[34:20] like one person would just sit there

[34:21] silently and that like moving their body

[34:23] at all would be like freaks them out

[34:25] completely and then for him, it's like

[34:26] he can't even imagine not doing that. Um

[34:29] but yeah, it's just like

[34:31] I love the dance, you know? It's just

[34:33] like it's just like a fun dance and

[34:35] exploration with everybody. And they

[34:36] were asking me too about the hand and

[34:38] I'm like, honestly, I don't know what to

[34:39] say about the hand. Other than that's

[34:41] what, you know,

[34:43] surrender looks like and just letting

[34:45] trusting that it's doing what it's

[34:46] supposed to be doing.

[34:47] >> I I find it very interesting that you

[34:49] when you and I are in these spaces,

[34:53] it's not that like we call that stuff

[34:56] into existence.

[34:57] >> Sure.

[34:58] >> It just literally happens around us.

[35:00] >> Yeah, but that's practice, too. That's

[35:01] you know, that's so much practice of

[35:02] surrendering to like I remember sitting

[35:04] with Andrew for years and like trying to

[35:06] like

[35:07] like lift up my hand and he's like now

[35:09] surrender to it. I'm like,

[35:11] like

[35:11] >> [laughter]

[35:12] >> nothing would really happen.

[35:14] Because my ego was trying to figure out

[35:16] how to let go to make it happen, which

[35:19] is not how would that happens.

[35:20] It's confusing. It really is confusing,

[35:22] right? But I think part of that is like

[35:25] like anything else, like

[35:26] normalizing stuff like that. There's not

[35:29] a lot of places to go in the world where

[35:30] you can be in an environment where

[35:32] you're being received while that's

[35:33] happening so that you can experiment and

[35:35] kind of play with that. And when you've

[35:36] done that for like 5 years straight,

[35:38] like eventually like all right, like

[35:39] this is doing the thing, right? And

[35:41] these days I just kind of trust it

[35:42] because I've been so many experiences

[35:44] where people have expressed how profound

[35:46] that was. Yeah.

[35:48] Um, but same thing for me like with the

[35:49] with Andrew, like he does all this like

[35:51] weird wacky hand stuff and I'm like, I

[35:53] feel so much god damn better. Like while

[35:55] you're doing [laughter]

[35:56] while your hand is

[35:57] while you're flipping your hand around

[35:59] my face, you know.

[36:01] >> That's incredible.

[36:03] Yeah. I've I That's So that's kind of

[36:05] what I walked away from. It's like

[36:09] we just need to create more of that in

[36:11] our world and and normalize that stuff

[36:13] more and more.

[36:15] Um, because like you said, there's so

[36:17] much potential for healing. Like one of

[36:20] the guys wrote me the sweetest message.

[36:21] He's like, dude, you changed mine and my

[36:23] wife's life forever. Like I will never

[36:25] be the the after this. And I was like,

[36:26] "Wow."

[36:27] Um

[36:29] Yeah, and

[36:31] Look, we've done so much work, you and

[36:32] I. I think not that we take for granted

[36:35] because I think we really are

[36:36] appreciative of of the work that we do.

[36:38] >> For sure.

[36:39] >> Um but how many times throughout the

[36:40] weekend do people pull you aside and

[36:42] like ask you like rapid-fire questions?

[36:44] It's like this and then you answer. And

[36:46] then like, "Well, what about this?" And

[36:47] you're sitting there and you're like, "I

[36:48] feel like I've been talking a lot." But

[36:50] they just keep asking the questions and

[36:52] you're like, "Okay."

[36:53] >> I know I used to always when I got into

[36:55] rooms like that around especially around

[36:56] a lot of successful men,

[36:58] I would feel extremely timid because I'm

[37:00] like, "Well, I haven't reached

[37:02] these echelons of you know, financial

[37:03] success." But over the years,

[37:05] I kind of realized like this area of

[37:07] study

[37:09] is so fundamental to being a human

[37:10] being.

[37:11] >> Yeah.

[37:12] >> That

[37:13] it doesn't matter how much success quote

[37:15] somebody's had in business. Like there's

[37:17] very few people have explored the depths

[37:19] of consciousness this way.

[37:21] >> Yeah.

[37:21] >> And that that exploration is such an

[37:23] asset regardless of where people are in

[37:26] life because like you don't said there's

[37:28] always something going on for somebody,

[37:29] their health, their relationships,

[37:31] elsewhere. And it's like it's one of

[37:32] those areas that it just it's the

[37:33] fundamentals. It's the foundation under

[37:35] everything.

[37:36] So when you've explored that to great

[37:38] depth, like

[37:39] you just become an asset

[37:41] to everybody around you. And I always

[37:43] feel like now I always feel like no

[37:44] matter what room I'm in, I just have so

[37:46] much to offer. I'm also in this place

[37:48] right now where like that's why I was

[37:49] asking you about the organic stuff, like

[37:51] how did it come about? I'm not I don't

[37:54] You know, back in the day I used to

[37:56] get

[37:58] How do I say this? I used to find my

[38:00] value as a human being in the

[38:02] intelligence that and wisdom that I had

[38:03] garnered. And so it became kind of part

[38:06] of my identity to share that wisdom in

[38:08] order to show my value.

[38:09] Mm. I don't feel that way anymore. I

[38:12] actually could go the entire weekend

[38:13] over there with never talking about what

[38:15] I do or how I do it at all and it would

[38:17] be just the same for me.

[38:19] Um which is a good really good place for

[38:21] me to be. And like I've had to work that

[38:22] through because I I kind of realized

[38:25] over the years like, you know,

[38:27] I went through, you know, Landmark

[38:28] Education and I got there really

[38:30] depressed, lonely, and kind of [ __ ]

[38:32] hating life.

[38:34] And then as I came out of that,

[38:36] I looked at what leaders were doing in

[38:38] that organization, and I began to model

[38:39] those people

[38:41] because that's what success looked like

[38:42] to me. So, I started sitting like them,

[38:44] dressing like them, moving like them,

[38:46] kind of unconsciously as you do. Like I

[38:47] was still 19 years old. I'm I'm young.

[38:49] I'm impressionable, right? Like

[38:50] And I'm glad. Like that was a good

[38:52] people to model. Like people had a lot

[38:54] of integrity are good people to model,

[38:55] right? But as we got more into the

[38:57] energetic work, I realized, "Oh, I

[38:59] picked up this identity also, and it's

[39:01] still not me."

[39:02] I I I started dancing like more like

[39:04] other people, and as we got more into

[39:06] energetics, I kind of like had to unwind

[39:07] that and like grieve that as well

[39:09] because it

[39:11] provided success in my life.

[39:13] So, it seemed like I should keep that

[39:15] going, but there was a part of me that

[39:17] started feeling intuitively like, "This

[39:19] is not authentic."

[39:20] >> Yeah.

[39:21] >> And it also created pressure for me to

[39:23] like show up that way in my primary

[39:25] relationships as well.

[39:27] And I remember at some point I got

[39:28] called out by my friends

[39:31] >> [clears throat]

[39:32] >> Excuse me.

[39:34] for not listening to something they

[39:35] said.

[39:36] They actually two of my friends went to

[39:37] the past and they came back and all I

[39:39] did was just like I was like, "You

[39:39] should do this. This is like you know,

[39:40] like just coach them through it." And at

[39:42] the end they were both were like, "You

[39:43] didn't listen to a [ __ ] thing we

[39:44] said."

[39:45] >> Wow.

[39:46] >> And I remember like I had a real come to

[39:48] Jesus moment. Like it hurt when they

[39:50] said that really bad.

[39:51] >> Yeah.

[39:51] >> And I was like, "What just

[39:55] happened in this interaction that they

[39:56] said felt like that's

[39:58] the value that I offered in my

[40:00] relationships, which was really not me

[40:02] being myself. It was me providing

[40:05] a service.

[40:06] And I thought if I didn't provide that

[40:07] service, then I wasn't valuable. And if

[40:08] I wasn't valuable, then why would you

[40:09] want to be friends with me?

[40:11] >> Yep.

[40:11] >> So, I had to kind of like unroll

[40:14] that stuff, and like then I got would

[40:16] get into spaces and I would just shut

[40:17] the [ __ ] up. Like I just stopped talking

[40:19] about anything.

[40:20] And I was just like, could I have just

[40:22] have relationships where I was just

[40:23] being

[40:24] just being. And today like I almost

[40:26] never talk about those things with my

[40:27] friends like ever. It's like rare it

[40:29] comes up unless they like literally call

[40:31] me and like ask me for I provided none

[40:34] of that today. Like I that stuff

[40:35] actually feels so so sacred to me today

[40:37] that unless you like prompt me, you're

[40:40] not going to hear it from me.

[40:41] >> Yeah.

[40:42] >> And I do so little of it and it actually

[40:43] like helps me store my energy a lot

[40:45] more.

[40:46] Uh so you know, it was nice to uh like I

[40:49] love being in that space too and like

[40:51] not feeling like any pressure that I

[40:52] have to provide a god damn thing to

[40:53] anybody.

[40:54] >> Yeah.

[40:55] >> Yeah.

[40:55] >> It's funny cuz I I always walk into that

[40:57] space like that.

[40:59] And then I was even noticing last time

[41:00] it was just me, but this time it was me

[41:02] and you.

[41:03] And I would just see like I'd be in this

[41:05] corner and like three people would come

[41:07] and sit next to me and just like rapid

[41:09] fire What about this? I'm

[41:11] And I was like, okay. And then I would

[41:12] walk outside and you'd be sitting around

[41:14] three people and they're like asking you

[41:16] all these questions and I was like,

[41:18] It's just It's just how we operate. It's

[41:19] so funny.

[41:20] >> It's funny.

[41:21] >> is. Really funny.

[41:22] >> I mean I I'll give that to Landmark, you

[41:23] know, like one thing I do see as like a

[41:25] standout

[41:27] what they helped us really like hone in

[41:29] is like enrollment as a as a as a skill

[41:32] in life.

[41:33] >> Yeah.

[41:33] >> and not as a skill like as just like who

[41:35] you are as like you communicate stuff

[41:37] that

[41:38] brings, you know, forth like new ideas

[41:40] and actions and opportunities for

[41:42] people.

[41:44] And like I see that like everywhere in

[41:45] life. I'm sure anytime you find

[41:46] something that's really cool, like you

[41:48] know,

[41:48] uh it's like shared very openly. Like I

[41:51] really really value that skill. I'm so

[41:52] grateful that we spent all those years

[41:55] um

[41:56] learning how to be there for people.

[41:59] >> Yeah.

[42:00] And how easy it is. Like like it just

[42:02] feels

[42:03] effortless when I'm in that space. Um

[42:07] I mean I like even on the car ride up

[42:09] and then the car ride back

[42:11] um someone would ask a question

[42:14] and I would literally try to sit there

[42:16] like and not answer. I would just I was

[42:18] like, I'm just not going to answer.

[42:20] And eventually they're like, "And so

[42:21] Elon, what do you think?" I was like,

[42:23] [laughter] "Okay, I guess I do have to

[42:24] answer."

[42:25] Uh, but I really I was practicing of

[42:27] like, I'm not even going to say

[42:28] anything. Like I don't even want to do

[42:29] that. And then um, it always kind of

[42:31] came back to me. They're like, "And

[42:33] you?"

[42:34] >> Yeah.

[42:34] >> I was like, "Okay, I'll give you my

[42:36] my

[42:37] my outlook on it."

[42:38] >> Yeah.

[42:38] >> Yeah.

[42:39] It was really uh, it was really

[42:40] beautiful. I I came home though and I

[42:42] was so tired yesterday. It was like

[42:45] just exhausted from uh, travel and all

[42:48] that stuff, but

[42:50] I feel much

[42:52] much better today. I need to get a good

[42:54] a good sleep at home to to wake my ass

[42:56] up and

[42:56] >> I'm still not fully recovered. I'm

[42:58] almost at a week and I'm feeling better.

[43:00] Uh, yeah, I'm in definitely better than

[43:02] I was, but not not fully recovered, you

[43:04] know. That was not the best

[43:06] >> Mhm.

[43:06] >> the best space or sleep environment for

[43:08] me to uh, recover from what I was

[43:10] actually dealing with. Uh, I was also

[43:12] really like again, like one of these

[43:14] things I'm like, "Wow,

[43:15] I didn't suffer."

[43:17] Like I could have been suffering the

[43:17] whole time. Like I woke up

[43:19] on Friday, my ring told me I was two

[43:22] 2.7° above normal. So I was feverish

[43:25] waking up that morning.

[43:27] And all the things that I could have,

[43:29] you know, made that and suffered around.

[43:32] Like I had like nothing about it, you

[43:33] know, cuz like like I

[43:36] I asked myself

[43:37] >> [snorts]

[43:38] >> before I left if I was in no and the

[43:41] reality was I wasn't.

[43:43] And then once I made the choice to go,

[43:44] I'm like, "I'm not going to

[43:46] suffer through this experience.

[43:48] I'm just going to trust that I was

[43:49] supposed to be there.

[43:51] And weirdly enough, on the last [snorts]

[43:53] night when I kind of got that hit about

[43:54] the AI conversation, I like I had a

[43:56] feeling I was like, "I think this is why

[43:58] I came."

[43:59] For like that exact moment.

[44:01] Other, you know, and like and the other

[44:03] part was

[44:05] like I didn't participate in some of

[44:06] the, you know, experiences.

[44:08] And I was actually like I almost felt

[44:10] like my body was like

[44:11] didn't want that anyway. And if my body

[44:14] didn't feel that way, like I may have

[44:15] done that.

[44:16] Like like I would have been like, "Well,

[44:18] do I?" Cuz I The truth is I actually

[44:19] didn't want to.

[44:21] So like my body kind of protected me

[44:22] from that experience, weirdly enough,

[44:24] which again, it's like, you know,

[44:26] you can fight against it, but it just

[44:28] kept me like really on the straight and

[44:29] narrow with like, "Here's what I will

[44:30] and won't do with my energy this

[44:32] weekend."

[44:32] >> Yeah.

[44:33] >> Um

[44:34] and that felt

[44:37] really intelligent, honestly, at the end

[44:38] of the day.

[44:39] >> Nice.

[44:39] >> Mhm.

[44:40] >> And there's also something about being

[44:41] in that that level of nature

[44:43] and that removed from society. Like the

[44:47] energy in that space is just so unique.

[44:51] >> Yeah.

[44:51] >> Like when we go camping on our camping

[44:53] trip, that that place feels very special

[44:55] and unique.

[44:56] >> Great.

[44:56] >> This place feels special and unique in

[44:58] in another way. Like on the last night,

[45:01] um

[45:02] after you guys actually went to bed, I

[45:04] went out back like the clouds had

[45:06] cleared again. Went back out and sat.

[45:09] And no joke, for like an hour, maybe an

[45:11] hour more, a bunch of us just laid on

[45:13] the on the dirt there and just stared up

[45:16] at the stars and had like

[45:18] the most beautiful, vulnerable

[45:20] conversations about like relationships

[45:23] and sex and intimacy and like It was

[45:26] like really

[45:28] really vulnerable, beautiful stuff. And

[45:31] I I went to bed and I was like, "That

[45:32] was one of the highlights of the weekend

[45:33] for me." Just like laying there, looking

[45:35] at stars and having these amazing

[45:36] conversations. Um

[45:40] but it was so clear. Like we saw a ton

[45:42] of shooting stars, and then we I I have

[45:44] that like SkyView app on my phone.

[45:46] >> yeah.

[45:48] >> So I would actually put it up and it

[45:50] kind of like draws the constellations,

[45:52] right?

[45:53] >> But it was the The sky was so clear that

[45:56] I could literally see like for the first

[45:57] time ever I saw Gemini, like the Gemini

[46:00] uh

[46:01] stars. And I was like, "Oh my god." like

[46:03] I could literally see based on the stars

[46:05] kind of how people would perceive it.

[46:07] >> Sure.

[46:08] >> And then the craziest part, I was going

[46:09] to bed and you know, there was like

[46:11] windows in the room that we were at and

[46:13] so the window directly like facing me

[46:16] that I was looking at was uh Orion's

[46:19] Belt. It was like those three stars just

[46:21] like it was a thin little window and

[46:24] that thin little window was exactly

[46:25] Orion's Belt just blasting at me the

[46:28] entire night. I was like, wow, this is

[46:30] so cool.

[46:31] So yeah,

[46:32] um

[46:33] a very cool experience. I love that we

[46:36] get to do these things together.

[46:36] >> running There's good running theories

[46:38] that that's where humanity is from.

[46:40] >> I know. That's why I was like I was

[46:41] literally like it was beaming into me

[46:43] and I was like, um okay.

[46:45] >> [laughter]

[46:47] >> Yeah.

[46:48] >> Very cool.

[46:49] >> Yeah, and I love that we get to do these

[46:50] things together and

[46:52] >> Obviously in these spaces together it's

[46:54] just nice. Being inclusive to be

[46:55] together is always fun.

[46:56] >> Yeah. Yeah.

[46:58] Um it was so funny like I'm sure people

[47:00] came up to you also, but like there's

[47:02] there's always comments about our

[47:04] relationship and you know, how people

[47:06] see us and perceive us, which is

[47:08] always uh

[47:10] it's always nice to hear, you know, like

[47:11] we for us it's just like this is the way

[47:13] we are, but I'm I'm so clear that this

[47:15] is [laughter] not the way that brothers

[47:17] are.

[47:17] >> Yeah.

[47:17] >> Um so hearing it from others is always

[47:20] like so beautiful.

[47:21] >> Yeah. Agreed. Interesting.

[47:23] >> Yeah.

[47:24] >> Interesting turn of events always.

[47:27] >> Yeah.

[47:28] Um cool. Any any other

[47:32] insights or shares?

[47:34] >> Just

[47:35] want to say I love my kids.

[47:37] I miss them dearly.

[47:38] I know it's so fun to come home. My

[47:40] little guy, the little Spider-Man that

[47:41] was in here

[47:42] before we got on live.

[47:45] Oh my god, just

[47:47] it's just the best right now. He's just

[47:48] so

[47:49] freaking cute. Like I have been um

[47:53] sleeping in a big different bed. We

[47:54] we've co-slept since to

[47:56] I know people have opinions about that,

[47:57] but it's been a really only positive

[47:59] experience as a parent to have my

[48:01] children next to me in the bed.

[48:03] Um and he's at the place where he's

[48:05] pretty big now.

[48:07] And like, you know, we're close to the

[48:09] transitioning him.

[48:11] But like last night

[48:13] he was in bed and I was pretty tired. I

[48:15] want to go to my other bed and he was

[48:17] like, "Please

[48:18] please please please stay in bed. Please

[48:20] just like the way like

[48:22] just the way he was coming from, it was

[48:24] like I remember with Jaden too, like

[48:26] somewhere between three and four there

[48:27] was a place where like

[48:29] I could see the little boy started

[48:31] perceiving the parents in a different

[48:33] way. There was like

[48:35] I don't know how to name it, but like

[48:36] there was like an appreciation there

[48:37] that just wasn't there before. Suddenly

[48:39] it was like just providers. It was like

[48:41] like more aware of the relationship. And

[48:43] like Phoenix has in like last month or

[48:44] two kind of hit that place

[48:46] too.

[48:47] Um

[48:49] and it's just like

[48:50] it's like the best thing ever. This is

[48:52] just the cutest freaking age. I'm I'm

[48:55] grieving the day the days now

[48:58] as this winds down and he's kind of

[48:59] comes out of being like, you know, a

[49:00] toddler.

[49:02] But he is like he's like a fine wine

[49:04] right now. Or like Or like a Or like a

[49:06] good dessert. It's like the best.

[49:08] >> Yeah.

[49:09] >> Yeah. Three to four is a is a really

[49:10] really special age. So sweet. Oh my

[49:12] goodness.

[49:13] >> Yeah.

[49:14] Yeah. It it really is different and you

[49:17] know, like I came home they're 15 and

[49:18] 13. Yeah. But it's really interesting

[49:21] how they now also perceive it, right?

[49:24] >> Does he Does Shade Does Does Shade run

[49:25] to you and go, "Daddy?" Does he still do

[49:27] that?

[49:28] >> [laughter]

[49:29] >> Well, he doesn't do daddy, but like now

[49:31] when he gives me a hug, it's like a man

[49:33] giving me a hug. We're like We're like

[49:35] he's not my height, but like he's almost

[49:37] my height. So now when we're hugging,

[49:39] it's like

[49:40] Like I think he's probably taller than

[49:41] you. He's taller than me.

[49:43] He's at this place like when I'm hugging

[49:45] him, it's like I'm hugging like a man

[49:47] now.

[49:47] >> I've had to I've had to come to I've had

[49:48] to come to terms that most of the planet

[49:50] is taller than me.

[49:51] >> It's it's just wild. Like he came out of

[49:53] his room. He's like, "Abba." He says

[49:55] like I'm like,

[49:56] "Whoa, you're even bigger than I

[49:58] remember."

[49:59] >> Yeah.

[50:00] I felt the same way. I came home just

[50:01] like a few days, you know.

[50:03] I'm like, "Oh my god, he's communicating

[50:05] with so much clarity.

[50:07] So sweet. Like even when he like

[50:08] accidentally hurts somebody now, he's

[50:09] like, "Oh, I'm sorry, Mommy." And like,

[50:11] "Oh my god, who are you?" You know.

[50:12] >> [laughter]

[50:15] >> So cute.

[50:16] >> Very, very sweet.

[50:17] >> Yeah.

[50:19] Cool.

[50:20] All right. Well,

[50:23] again, fun experience. But then I hope

[50:25] that we get to have more of these. And

[50:27] um

[50:28] yeah, for anyone out there, like

[50:33] truly, if if you notice that you are

[50:37] in your head,

[50:39] isolated, on your own island,

[50:43] I'm telling you right now, like one of

[50:44] the guys that came that I ended up like

[50:46] guy and I were doing work with,

[50:48] uh I messaged him like 40 days before. I

[50:51] was like, "Hey, really excited to see

[50:52] you." And he's like, "I'm actually

[50:55] probably not coming." And I was like,

[50:56] "What? Like why are you not coming?"

[50:58] And he was like, "Listen, I'm like

[50:59] really going through some stuff." And

[51:01] the question I said I was like, I didn't

[51:02] say like, "You have to come. I'm

[51:03] coming." I said, "Do you feel like you

[51:06] would be better off trying to process

[51:09] this on your own or coming to this place

[51:12] and actually getting support as you go

[51:13] through it?" And he's like, "You're

[51:14] absolutely right." And so he brought

[51:16] himself over there, and that was, you

[51:17] know, who we got to do this amazing work

[51:18] with. So

[51:20] I just For anyone else, like if you're

[51:21] out there

[51:23] feeling isolated and alone, I'm telling

[51:24] you right now, like you're not going to

[51:25] find the answers.

[51:28] Cuz the answers are not where you're

[51:29] looking. Like

[51:31] you're looking in the same mind that

[51:32] created the entire construct and the

[51:34] entire problem. And so isolating just

[51:36] puts you deeper and deeper into that

[51:38] spin cycle,

[51:40] and you're just going to keep spinning

[51:41] there.

[51:43] And if you want the the the fastest way

[51:46] out is get back into connection with

[51:49] [clears throat] other beings and get

[51:51] support

[51:52] because once someone can shift you out

[51:54] of that spin cycle and back into your

[51:56] body like I cannot tell you how quickly

[51:59] you can shift into a new energy and that

[52:02] new energy is what's going to give you

[52:04] the the new clarity the new answers the

[52:06] new whatever that you need so yeah if

[52:09] there's anything that we can ever do to

[52:11] support you

[52:12] if you want to shoot us a question just

[52:15] know that we're here and we're more than

[52:17] happy to uh

[52:18] to answer anything support anything it's

[52:20] it's kind of why we built what we've

[52:22] built here so

[52:23] do not hesitate

[52:25] >> bababooom all right everybody

Frequently Asked Questions

In this conversation, Ilan and Guy Ferdman describe the sentence "I really need help" as feeling like chewing on glass. They argue the reluctance is a learned response to pressure rather than a fixed trait, and that vulnerability, though it feels like weakness, is where real strength begins.
Ilan described it as a gathering that brings men from different professions and ages together with healing as the explicit intention, covering emotional, physical and spiritual struggles. Over a weekend the group took part in medicine journeys, which Ilan and Guy were invited to facilitate.
Guy shared that he once found groups of men and strangers threatening, but now feels comfortable in them. He said he only recognized how significant that change was after talking it through, suggesting that such shifts often happen quietly through continued showing up.
Guy said that people who reach mastery, whether through technology, physics or physical discipline, must spiritually face themselves to cross the boundaries of their field. The idea is that different paths lead to similar inner conclusions.
