Master Self Intuition: Turning Inner Guidance Into Action

Intuition is the most-recommended and least-explained tool in spiritual life. Everyone is told to trust it, and almost nobody is shown how to hear it. In a conversation on the Dear Guides show, intuitive teacher Laura Day takes that gap seriously. She calls the source of inner knowing your master self, the highest and wisest version of you across past, present, and future, and she argues that it is not a mystical broadcast from somewhere far away. It is a presence you learn to converse with, a practice that works through the ordinary details of your day: a book title that surfaces, a memory that arrives at the wrong moment, a person you did not expect to meet. Her method has three moves, define your goals, notice what you notice, and interact when it is safe, and she closes with a heart-centered telepathy exercise aimed at a difficult relationship. Underneath all of it is one unusual instruction: don't trust your intuition. Document it, then verify it.

Picture the setup Day describes. You are stuck in your head, rehearsing the same argument, and she tells you to stop. Put a physical object in front of you, a water bottle will do, and name it as your master self. The bottle is not the point. The point is that a thing with a shape gives the inner conversation a place to land, and the conversation stops circling.

What Is the Master Self, and Why Does Day Say Intuition Isn't Magic?

Day starts from physics. "If you go back to physics and you agree with Einstein, space and time is an illusion," she tells Gabrielle Bernstein, arguing that the highest octave of you already exists, along with the highest octave of the world around you (Dear Guides, 0:40 onward). Whether or not a listener follows her into that territory, the practical implication is what matters to her: the wisest version of you is not waiting somewhere outside you. Your master self is your capacity to dialogue with it.

That reframing targets a habit Day sees constantly. "We tend to externalize wisdom," she says, pointing to the impulse to believe that a certain teacher, a certain person, or a certain price tag holds the answer you lack (Dear Guides, 2:20). Her correction is blunt. Your guide is you, and it already exists.

The word "magic" is the thing she most wants to retire. People, she argues, "magicalize" intuition, and that framing makes it feel like a rare event that either happens to you or doesn't. Day's view is that intuition is always running. It is part of the flow of your interactions with the world, the way your sense of being separate from others and your sense of being one with everything are both running at once. Once you see it that way, the question stops being whether you have intuition and becomes how to notice the signals it is already sending.

Why Do Internal Family Systems and Spiritual Teaching Describe the Same Inner Presence?

Bernstein's own training is in internal family systems therapy, and she draws a direct line from Day's language to the IFS concept of "Self" with a capital S, the essence of a person's internal parent. The more she developed that presence, she says, the more she could bring fear-based, ego-driven thoughts to it and receive compassion, calm, and clarity in return (Dear Guides, 3:13 onward). What she describes is less a belief than a relationship: a sense that you have an inner healer you can actually reach.

Day adds an observation from more than four decades of teaching: people arrive at this inner presence by different doors. "Some people get through to it through compassion. Some people get to it through openness. Some people get to it through finding their uh warrior and their separateness" (Dear Guides, 4:04). That range matters for anyone who has tried a meditation that felt like it was meant for someone else. You don't have to enter through softness. You may come in through your edges.

Day also refuses the easy version of spiritual happiness. "None of us are happy all the time," she says, and she describes the painful moments in her own life as the places where she found the most. Her line, borrowed from the old saying, is "No mud, no lotus" (Dear Guides, 4:50). The practice is not a way out of difficulty. It is a way of facing difficulty through a different lens, the lens of your higher self, rather than through fear.

How Does the Water Bottle Dialogue Actually Work?

"You put something in front of you and then you notice where intuition takes you, because what your master self will do is point you in directions." (Laura Day, Dear Guides, 6:20)

Day's method starts with the object. You designate the bottle as your master self and then ask it a real question. Her reasoning is that inner dialogue inside your head gets tangled quickly; "we're so messy," she says, "which is delicious, but we are so messy and so rich" (Dear Guides, 5:37). Giving the conversation an external anchor slows it down and gives you a fixed point to address.

The important part is what happens next. Day is clear that the master self rarely speaks in full sentences. "Rarely it's a sentence because again a sentence gets lost," she says. More often you find yourself remembering a video you watched, a book that came to mind, or a friend who does what you want to do better than you do. Her summary is direct: "the answer is outside of you... The answer is in the interaction with the world" (Dear Guides, 6:20).

She paints the sequence with an example. You begin with a frustration and ask for a solution. Then you notice the bird pattern on a tapestry, or a thought about a park where a woman feeds pigeons, and you get up and go outside, where you meet someone you did not expect to meet who changes your course (Dear Guides, 7:18). In Day's account, the signal was small and ordinary, and it only looked like coincidence because you were not paying attention. Her phrase for the principle, "a tiny interaction, a tiny change can change your entire life," is the emotional center of the talk.

Bernstein responds immediately. She plans to use the practice every day and calls it "a huge unlock." That reaction points to why the method works for many people: it turns a vague instruction into a repeatable physical act.

What Are the Three Steps From Intuition to Action?

Day's process for turning intuition into action has three parts, and her emphasis on the first one may surprise people who expected a free-floating spiritual practice.

Define your goals. Intuition needs a frame. Day says goals are "the most important thing to have" because they "contextualize that intuition," giving your conscious and subconscious mind a road map to work from (Dear Guides, 7:52 onward). Without a stated goal, she notes, people tend to collect a laundry list of wants and get distracted, and they stop receiving clear direction. A goal does not have to be grand. It has to be specific enough that a signal can point toward it.

Notice what you notice. This is the attentive phase. Day wants you to log the books, conversations, and sudden associations that arrive once you have started the dialogue, rather than dismissing them as noise. The water bottle, the pigeon park, the YouTube video, all become data.

Interact when it's safe. Here Day adds a guardrail. Follow the signal, she says, but do so unless it is dangerous. She is equally blunt about the limits of intuition in an emergency: if you are about to be mugged, your intuition is not going to help you in that moment. The practice is for the ordinary decisions, the relationship, the career turn, the choice you have been circling, not for survival reflexes.

Why Does Day Say "Don't Trust Your Intuition. Document It. Verify It."?

This is the line that gives the episode its edge. Bernstein says she has heard "trust your intuition" for years, and Day's answer is to reverse it. The episode's own description quotes her directly: "Don't trust your intuition. Document it. Verify it." What she is guarding against is the way intuition can flatter a person who already wants something. A feeling can be vivid and still be wrong.

Her practice for documentation is concrete. She describes carrying a pen and a notepad, and recording what comes up in a voice note if that is easier. Then, she says, "once or twice a week, I look at what I've noticed. Notice where it's led me" (Dear Guides, 36:08). The review is where the learning happens. You see which signals led somewhere useful and which were noise, and you refine your sense of how your own intuition speaks. Over time, verification turns a mysterious feeling into a track record you can read.

What Happens When You Try the Telepathy Exercise?

Day closes with a guided exercise she describes as telepathy from the heart. It is aimed at a difficult relationship. The premise is her earlier point that the interaction is where the answer lives, extended to another person. She asks the listener to get specific about the result they want, to ask what the actual outcome is, and to hold that intention in a moment of contact. She emphasizes that the change tends to show up in small, real interactions that then continue over time.

Day's framing matters here. Telepathy, she says at the start of the episode, "comes from our heart," not from the head, and its purpose is "about the future," with the reason you are getting it now being "to do something now" (Dear Guides, 0:00). The exercise is not an attempt to control someone else. It is a way to notice your own part in the exchange and let the next small action come from a clearer place.

For anyone who wants to try the practice, the sequence is simple enough to do in one sitting: pick an object, name it your master self, state a goal in one sentence, ask one question, and write down whatever comes up in the next day or two. Then wait for the weekly review, and check the record against what actually happened. Day's insistence on verification is the safeguard that keeps the method honest.

Where to go from here

If the master self idea is new to you, start with the water bottle. Keep it small. Ask one question about a decision you keep rehearsing, write down the first three things that come to mind over the next two days, and review them once. You are not testing whether you are psychic. You are testing whether your attention can be trained to notice signals you are already receiving.

For more of Day's work, including her book The Prism, which Bernstein praises on the show, and her broader teaching, visit lauraday.com. Bernstein's Dear Guides series, with its focus on connecting to guides and developing psychic abilities, is on her channel, where she has also announced a live Dear Guides event in New York and a livestream for November 21. Pair Day's method with a commitment to documentation, and you have a way to test intuition rather than simply believe in it.

[0:00] We think of telepathy coming from our head. It  doesn't. Telepathy comes from our heart. It's

[0:04] about the future. The reason you're getting  it now is to do [music] something now. A

[0:09] tiny interaction, a tiny change can change your  entire life. Absolutely. People always say, "Trust

[0:15] your intuition. Trust your intuition. Trust your  intuition." This is super powerful to [music] say,

[0:19] "No, don't trust your intuition." This is a huge  unlock for me, Laura. I'm taking this with me

[0:23] wherever I go. You've probably heard before in  spiritual settings, [music] everything you need

[0:28] is inside you. And that sounds really nice. Maybe  it makes you feel good. But how does it actually

[0:34] work? This is the guide you've been looking for.  I'm joined today by intuitive Laura Day. She

[0:40] calls this inner knowledge your master self, the  highest wisdom, the highest wisest version of you

[0:48] across every point of your life, past, present,  and future. In her words, you are your own

[0:54] master guide, your own guardian angel. Today she's  teaching how to access your master self, how it

[1:01] connects to something much bigger and how we can  use it to change our reality. And stick around

[1:06] to the end because Laura is going to guide us  through a practice to strengthen your intuition.

[1:11] Welcome to Dear Guides. Laura, welcome. Welcome.  Welcome. So exciting. Your energy entered this

[1:17] room and it was like this vibrant firecracker  and you're absolutely exquisite inside and out

[1:23] and I'm so happy to have you here.  Thank you. I'm so happy to be here.

[1:27] What's so special about this show is that we bring  in people that I identify as teachers and I've

[1:34] really really fell in love with your book the  prism and it really touched me and today we're

[1:40] going to speak about the heart center of this book  which is our master self. So I want to just dive

[1:46] right in with you on that. What is the master  self? So if you go back to physics and you agree

[1:52] with Einstein, space and time is an illusion.  So the highest octave of you already exists

[2:01] as well as the highest octave of the world around  you. Your master self is your ability to dialogue

[2:07] with that part of yourself. It's interesting you  are the first person who zeroed in on that in in

[2:13] this practice. And it is so important because  we tend to externalize wisdom. you know that

[2:20] person has it or that person has it or I can't  afford that person so I can't get it and actually

[2:27] your guide is you and it already exists in a  at a different point in spaceime so learning to

[2:33] communicate with it I think the most powerful way  to develop you'll keep evolving your master self

[2:43] as you evolve as a human being and as you work  through the pretty confusing challenges in my

[2:48] opinion of being human. But when you dialogue with  your master self, your master self can guide you.

[2:56] It becomes your own inner guru, your own  inner healer, your own inner angel as you

[3:00] say. Yeah. Yeah. When we can find a lot of  comfort in identifying and recognizing and

[3:06] connecting to our master self because then we  have this inner sensation that we're not alone,

[3:13] that we can face things with more ease. I my  training is in internal family systems therapy

[3:20] and in IFS it's called self with a capital S and  self is the energy the essence of our internal

[3:27] parent very similarly as we would maybe describe  this and the more I developed self or in your case

[3:33] master self the more I developed that presence I  started to have this sensation and this knowing

[3:39] that I had this inner healer inside that I could  bring my fear-based ego destructive ive thoughts

[3:47] to and that I could get this energy of compassion,  I could get this energy of calm, I could get this

[3:53] energy of clarity whenever I needed it and that  became such a strong practice for me that became

[3:59] really heartopening. I've been teaching now for  over 40 years and my experience is that everybody

[4:04] gets to it uh from a different place. Some people  get through to it through compassion. Some people

[4:10] get to it through openness. Some people get to  it through finding their uh warrior and their

[4:16] separateness. Because the most difficult thing is  on one hand we are all one. Every energy is one.

[4:23] You're one with the chair. And on the other hand,  it's your job to be an individual and to take

[4:27] responsibility for what you create in the world  and your choices and to keep reforming yourself

[4:34] in a way that you have a wonderful life that you  that you love. I mean, happy people are generous

[4:40] people are our healers are and happy. I mean, none  of us are happy all the time. I mean, I always

[4:46] tell my students, I've had so many pawns moments,  but those [clears throat] pawns moments are great

[4:50] because you find a lot in them. You know what is  it they say? No mud, no lotus. Exactly. I mean,

[4:56] we have different experiences in our life. We have  to witness that we can face them in two different

[5:01] ways. We can face them through the lens of fear.  We can face them through our higher self and our

[5:06] our choice of consciousness, I believe. And  how does the master self help us when we are in

[5:11] the human form having a crisis, having a a egoic  shakedown? How would we connect to that master

[5:18] self? The simplest way is literally to put  a water bottle in front of you and designate

[5:25] you're you are my master self because there's  something about giving something a physical form

[5:31] that allows us to interact when we interact inside  of ourselves. We're so messy which is delicious

[5:37] but we are so messy and so rich and there's so  many different experiences and dialogues going on.

[5:43] But if you put something in front of you and  then you notice where intuition takes you

[5:49] because what your master self will do is point  you in directions. Rarely it's a sentence because

[5:56] again a sentence gets lost. You don't know you're  not fabricating it. But often it's uh the second

[6:02] you're you're doing it, you remember a YouTube  you saw. You remember a book that came to mind.

[6:06] You remember a friend of me but who actually does  what you want to do better than you do. Because

[6:12] the answer is outside of you. It's not inside or  or if it's inside, you can't find it. The answer

[6:18] is in the interaction with the world. That's why  we have egos is to channel that oneness of energy

[6:23] and create. So really starting a dialogue and  then noticing where that dialogue takes you and if

[6:32] it's safe, follow it. So let's say I take my water  bottle. Okay. I put my water bottle in front of me

[6:38] and I'm having a dialogue with the water bottle.  Yes. And that dialogue may be for some people

[6:44] do it in pictures. Okay. But now the reason the  reason to put something in front of you is that

[6:48] again when it's in your head it's too confusing.  So you begin with I'm having a really hard time

[6:57] with this. Um and I I need a solution now. All  of the sudden you notice the bird on the tapestry

[7:06] and then all of the sudden I'm visual. All of the  sudden you think, "Oh, wow. There's that little

[7:12] park outside my house where the pigeon lady goes  and feeds all those little birds and you get up

[7:18] and you go outside and you meet someone sitting  there that you didn't expect to meet who changes

[7:24] your life." So, you know, the problem with the  way people think of intuition is they magicalize

[7:29] it. And the reality is your intuition is is in  the interaction with your life. It is going on

[7:36] all the time. So just like your oneness and your  separateness is going on all the time, your your

[7:43] thought perception and intuition is going on all  the time. And the most important thing to have are

[7:49] goals because goals contextualize that intuition.  And then both consciously and subconsciously

[7:58] you have a road road map. Okay, this is so so  cool. So let's say right now I love this practice

[8:03] so much by the way. I'm gonna use this every day  for and it's great to put a recording on so that

[8:08] because what's really interesting is you'll  find if you're a vocalizer um which I'm not.

[8:14] I'm a writer. But if you're a vocalizer and you  put that function on your phone on the tapes,

[8:19] you say, "I'm having trouble." And then and then  you'll hear something. You may not repeat it,

[8:24] but you'll say, "That just doesn't sound right to  me. I I don't understand why I should go outside.

[8:29] It's it's it's about terrain." And then you'll  experience something else and you say, "Well,

[8:36] fine, but I'm taking my mood with me." Can  I try it right now? Sure. Okay. I am having

[8:42] trouble right now with the relationship and  I don't totally know what to do and my ego is

[8:48] definitely involved in it, right? Because it's a  deep relationship and it's really triggering. And

[8:53] so I'm just going to ask the bottle. I'm going  to say, "I'm having trouble. What do I do?"

[8:59] Her listen to me. And there I'm also hearing  that you said Fritz earlier and that's my

[9:05] grandmother's name Fritzy. And I think that she  might be saying listen to me. Like listen to me.

[9:14] Listen to me. And she's she's saying I'm  going to help you but you got to listen to me.

[9:20] That's what I'm hearing. And what's interesting is  you can do it for someone else. So I was hearing

[9:25] there needs to be some space but without anger  without making a statement. There needs to be some

[9:30] space and the you you need to be reminded that  you have the absolute and I'm hearing this from

[9:37] your bottle. You have the absolute right to make  your choice and even if it's not convenient with

[9:44] someone else's choice or even if someone doesn't  feel that it's quite fair. Really, in a sense,

[9:50] the response is I I do care that you feel that  it's not fair, but I really feel that I need to

[9:58] do this my way this time. And um and then just  leave the space. That was actually very accurate.

[10:06] Your b It's your bottle. It's my bottle.  [laughter] It's your master self. And so if

[10:12] everyone can see the bottle right now, they could  take a moment. You could actually It's so chatty.

[10:16] Your bottle. It's so chatty. I want people to  use the bottle. Just pause the video for a moment

[10:21] and just look at the bottle and ask the bottle for  help. Right? And then remember, it doesn't always

[10:27] come through. I'm very auditory. It doesn't  always come through that way. Sometimes it'll

[10:31] come through like I'm seeing a Pokemon thing.  Remember, I'm a superhero. Um it it comes through

[10:37] in a gestalt of different sensations. So part  of the problem with receiving intuition is that

[10:44] we expect it to be, you know, by-winged angel and  it's not. It's simply you're noticing what you're

[10:51] noticing, something coming through, distraction  happening. Once you begin an intuitive process,

[10:58] anything you experience, including an itch on  your head, is part of that. There is nothing

[11:03] outside of that experience. And that's how you  train intuition away from intellect. Um, you and

[11:09] I use the word ego a little differently because  for me, damaged ego is the part that repeats the

[11:16] mistakes over and over that were ingrained by  age seven before we could even ask or question.

[11:24] Ego, however, is your powerful machinery to take  the omnipotent energy of which you are a part,

[11:33] have a goal and create it. And you see that  as early as a little child trying to a baby

[11:39] trying to grasp something. That's ego. In your  book and and even here as you're describing it,

[11:44] what I love so much about how you define ego  is this. Yes, of course, the shadow side of

[11:49] of having experience and feeling separate, but  then you also see our separation from God or

[11:55] inner wisdom, whatever you want to call it as a  learning device and part of our experience here

[12:00] in this world. and that it's not a bad thing  that it's it's also the drive. It's also the

[12:06] uh the experiences that we're meant to show up  for. To relate, you need to be two separate or

[12:12] a few separate things. You can't have impact on  something unless you are separate. Yeah. The idea

[12:18] is to be separate in a way that acknowledges when  I hurt you, I'm actually hurting me. So separate

[12:26] in a way that acknowledges unity and connection as  well. That's right. that we are that that we are

[12:31] one and we have that amazing but sometimes very  difficult challenge of taking that oneness being

[12:39] separate within it and then interacting in a way  that creates a oneness in a physical world. It is

[12:47] such a task to be separate. Have your needs. Have  your drives. Have the places you feel insecure.

[12:55] And I could use I for all of this because none  of us evolved past this and still make the choice

[13:03] to be part of that unity. Still make the choice  for all boats to rise. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. To be in

[13:10] this world, but think with the thoughts of love  and connection. Yes. Yeah. But I put the bottle

[13:15] away. I think we've got a Thank you, bottle. We've  had our nice lesson here. That was excellent. I

[13:20] love the bottle technique. That's I'm going to use  it all the time. it it's so, you know, anything

[13:23] that takes you out of your own um confusing inner  experience. I love just being in my house. I love

[13:30] being in my own little world. I've lived in  the same apartment for 45 years. However,

[13:35] I know that when my state isn't good, what I need  to do is not just go out, but go out to someplace

[13:42] I wouldn't normally go, someplace that doesn't  resonate with me. Because if it resonates with me,

[13:47] it resonates with the old problem, the old  dynamic. but go somewhere completely new and even

[13:55] if it's for a moment and allow myself to interact  or allow others to interact with me because I have

[14:02] my goal so I tend to draw the catalyst and it  is it's life-changing. We are life-changing for

[14:08] each other. I think this is such a huge gift that  you're giving me and the audience today, which is

[14:13] this idea of taking whatever our our ruminations  might be or whatever we're obsessing over or

[14:19] trying to control or the problem that we have  and getting out of its way by going to that

[14:27] place that's foreign, that's not something we're  comfortable, not in our comfort zone or wherever,

[14:30] just somewhere new or speaking, asking for help  from the bottle. just something that gets us

[14:36] out of that meme in our head, that consistent  story, and into awakening their intuitive space.

[14:44] It's this is a huge unlock for me, Laura. I'm  taking this with me wherever I go. I also feel

[14:48] like it's a very powerful tool for when we might  feel that we want to make a big decision. So,

[14:57] we want to make a big decision and we're kind of  locked in the the storyline of what we should do,

[15:03] how we should get there. But you want to get your  intuition in the conversation. You ask the bottle.

[15:09] I think part of it is asking the bottle. Part of  it is also um actually a somewhat intellectual

[15:14] process which is people say right decision or  people say things like I want to be happy. Well,

[15:20] a head injury might make you happy. What do  you actually want? What do you want from that

[15:25] right decision? Because part of intuition is the  ability to target it. I always tell my students,

[15:31] pretend you're shooting an arrow into a bull's  eye. And we can't always be that specific,

[15:37] but to the degree that we can, at least what is  the feeling you want? What is the effect you want?

[15:43] And not a laundry list because you don't have  the attention. Multitasking is the great myth.

[15:49] What are the criteria? And you know, it's funny  when you think about the right decision. You

[15:52] might say, "Well, I want to work in a place where  I'm going to fall in love with someone fabulous

[15:56] and still have time to work out but make enough  to pay my rent." I always tell people going for um

[16:00] interviews, don't look at what they're asking  for. Take a moment and notice because intuition

[16:06] is noticing. It's not looking for. Notice  what'll make them hire you. And maybe just

[16:11] simply loyalty. Knowing that, yeah, you can learn  how to use whatever program they're using. That

[16:16] you'll be on their side. That's that's what'll  give them the yes, not the five things they

[16:21] put on the help wanted ad. And it's the same  thing with right decisions or wrong decisions.

[16:28] What the dialogue with your higher self will  give you is it will give you the direction

[16:36] but then you need to notice the detail. And I  would say my one big complaint about intuition

[16:43] is for me and this is very personal about  how I work. Intuition needs to be accurate,

[16:51] immediate, and actionable. Even it's if it's about  the future, the reason you're getting it now is to

[16:56] do something now. So it's really important to get  enough detail that you can prove or disprove it.

[17:05] Like for example, the office layout in that job is  going to be uncomfortable. Maybe you can go check

[17:11] out the office or look at it online and think, "Oh  my goodness, I'm too distractable. I could never

[17:16] work like that." You know, to really be able to  get the detail and then verify it as opposed to do

[17:22] the research and then get the detail. Oo. So you  get the detail then you verify it. Okay. [music]

[17:31] Laura, let me just take a quick break for our  sponsors. As you guys know, I am so deeply

[17:35] grateful to our sponsors of this show because they  make it possible for us to be in this gorgeous

[17:40] barn with this amazing lighting and these great  videographers and editors. So, let's just take a

[17:44] quick moment to hear from our sponsors. Give them  a lot of love and we'll come right back. I have to

[17:49] tell you, I've become so much more particular  about what I wear when I'm relaxing at home

[17:54] because I actually prefer to be in loungewear.  It's just the stage of my life. if I really care

[18:00] about creating those little rituals that just  help me slow down and help me feel comfortable

[18:05] and actually just help me transition from work  mode into end of the day mode. And honestly,

[18:10] what I'm wearing is part of that. So, I want  something that feels incredibly soft and cozy,

[18:14] but I also don't want to feel like I'm wearing  some random old t-shirt that doesn't look cute.

[18:19] And that's where SKIMS comes in. I have been  obsessed with SKIMS for so long, and I noticed

[18:24] that the fabric is just the best. Feels so soft  against your skin. It's really lightweight. I love

[18:29] a matching set when I'm at home. Also, because  even if I'm in my PJs, I still feel cute for my

[18:34] husband and for myself, frankly, and for my son.  And there's something about just changing into

[18:39] beautiful pajamas at night that just immediately  tells my nervous system that it's time to slow

[18:44] down. It's time to get cozy. And my son and I will  be like, "Let's go put on our cozy cozies." And

[18:48] we do it together. And that's why I'm so psyched  for the holidays that's coming up because Skiims

[18:53] is such an easy gift to give. I am telling you,  give this for the holidays and shop my favorite

[19:00] loungewear and pajamas at skims.com. And after you  place your order, let them know that we sent you.

[19:07] Select podcast in the survey and then  select your Gabby from the drop- down menu.

[19:13] You know, I'm always looking for ways to upgrade  my wellness routines. And lately, I've been paying

[19:17] more attention to my dental health in a major  major way. We think so much about the food that

[19:22] we eat and the products that we put on our skin  and the things that we do to feel our best, but

[19:26] dental health is so important. The microbiome in  your mouth is keeping you healthy. So, I recently

[19:33] started using Loren Co. and I love that it's so  easy to add to my routine. Loreno is better for

[19:40] you chewing gum that uses the same mineral your  teeth are made of to support daily enamel health.

[19:45] This is the mineral that your enamel is exactly  made of and it helps strengthen your enamel and

[19:50] repair damage. And they have so many flavors  including mint, cinnamon, bubble gum, berry.

[19:56] They also make fluoride free toothpaste. Loren Co  sent me the gum and I'm such a huge fan. I'll chew

[20:01] a piece after a meal, after a coffee, or when  I'm on the go. It's just nice to also just like

[20:06] chew a piece of gum sometimes. It fits right into  your daily routine. It's just gum. It's that easy

[20:11] and it's totally effortless way to make  the best out of taking care of your teeth.

[20:14] So, right now, Loren Co. is offering our  listeners up to 50% off at byenco.com/gabby.

[20:22] That's by l a r i ne.com/gabby for up to 50% off.

[20:30] October always feels like a moment when everything  starts to speed back up. the calendar fills,

[20:35] the routine gets busier, and suddenly there's a  lot more competing for my attention. And that's

[20:40] why I'm so happy that I have AG1. I keep it really  easy. One scoop of AG1 NextGen with cold water.

[20:47] Shake it up. I'm done. I get all the vitamins and  minerals that I need for that day. My digestion's

[20:52] flowing. I am in good shape. And AG1 NextGen has  more than 75 ingredients, including vitamins,

[20:59] minerals, pre and probiotics, and superfoods.  It's also backed by four separate gold standard

[21:06] clinical trials with key nutrient levels shown  to improve within 3 months of consistent use.

[21:12] It supports steady energy production, gut health,  and immune health, which is especially helpful

[21:19] when life gets really busy and it's cold season.  For me, the best wellness habit are the ones that

[21:25] I'm actually going to stick to. And that's why AG1  has become one of those easy, consistent parts of

[21:29] my morning. And I love that it helps me cover  my nutritional basis without making my routine

[21:33] more complicated. So, for a limited time, visit  drinkaag1.com/gaby and get a free immune support

[21:39] bundle, including omega-3 fish oil and vitamin  D3 K2 with your first subscription of AG1 NextGen

[21:46] or AG1 Pro. And after checkout, be sure  to let them know that Dear Gabby sent you.

[21:56] When you're talking to the bottle, for  example, you'll notice things, you know,

[22:02] you'll notice things that are outside the  dialogue. And we do this all of the time because

[22:07] because intuition, when you focus, you narrow  your viewfinder. Intuition is simply that very

[22:14] natural thing. We have that add following of  attention. Oh, there's there's a fly there, so

[22:19] there's an earthquake there. But now I'm looking  at the fly, you know, and just that that is

[22:24] the in the intuitive state. So you begin in that  dialogue, but then your master self uses intuition

[22:32] to show you a person, show you an action, show  you a thing, show you a book on your bookshelf.

[22:37] All these different kinds of amazing things that  if you take stock that that's what your intuition

[22:43] is doing, you really notice that it's giving  you a road map. And my day job is predicting

[22:51] the future for four large companies. And what  I like about that is if I'm wrong, I get fired,

[22:57] which I have been. I was fired once. I was very  wrong once. And I remember it very very I mean

[23:02] I've been wrong more than once, but I was very  wrong once. And um I will remember it forever.

[23:07] It was 2009. However, it is important to get that  kind of detail. Not all the time because because

[23:16] we do want to live in a certain amount of flow.  Yeah. But when it is something like where to

[23:25] invest or how to evaluate a property or what which  school to send your child to or how to intervene

[23:34] that you want verifiable detail and one of the  things that you want the master self work to do

[23:43] is to give you a layout you didn't know  about. So, for example, in your dialogue,

[23:50] you knew the situation, but if you get someone  else to do it for you. Yes. In mine, I didn't know

[23:57] the situation, but probably if I was on target,  you could verify that we were talking about

[24:02] exactly the same situation we were. And so, that  in and of itself helps you say, "Oh, okay. I'm

[24:10] not imagining it." That's cool. You know, the same  way your dead people are around you all the time,

[24:17] but how do you know it's not projection?  But when someone else comes in and says,

[24:21] "Oh, wow. Your father loved that red sweater,  didn't he?" Having never known your father

[24:26] who loved his red sweater, then you say, "Oh,  wow." And I keep seeing him in a red sweater. So,

[24:32] it's not my imagination. That's why we're our own  hardest reading. Yeah. Having a reading community

[24:39] is so important because I can read you better  than I can read me. You can read me better than I

[24:44] You can read you. Yeah, I love that. You can grab  your spiritual running buddy, sit down, right? And

[24:49] they can say, "Yeah, I love a spiritual running  buddy." And you can not give any conversation or

[24:55] detail and just say, "What do you let it go? Let  it rip. Let it rip." Yeah. Focus on their bottle.

[25:01] Just or one of the things I do, so my husband  was a journalist. He's very data oriented

[25:07] and he doesn't like moving out of the safety  of intellect. So one of the things I do is I

[25:13] write a question down and you know sometimes I do  seven of them so I don't know what the question

[25:18] is so there's no telepathy going on and I just  pick the question and I hold it and I say okay

[25:24] I want you to follow your attention and tell me  everything that comes up for you and place it in

[25:29] time and describe the people around it and just go  with it. and I write down everything he says and

[25:37] that's how I trick him into doing a reading  for me. So you have your own questions,

[25:41] three questions. You pick up your own  question and then you let him riff,

[25:45] right? And you write down what he's saying, right?  But I even I So on my Instagram in the morning,

[25:50] I will pick a number question. I don't look  at it because I don't want the people on there

[25:55] to be being telepathic with me. So I don't even  look at what number I picked. Great. Then we can

[26:01] all do readings for ourselves because we don't  know what number we're reading, what number goal

[26:06] we're reading, and then we tag someone and do  it for one another. Cool. And for me, it is

[26:12] so orienting because if there's I rarely get  surprised during a day because someone will

[26:17] will tag me, you know, and say a meeting that  you thought was going to come through isn't. So,

[26:25] and then I'm I'm prepared and I'm somebody because  I'm my attention is so mobile. I need a structure

[26:33] so I don't get thrown. I love this so  much. Okay. So, some of the best ways

[26:39] to develop our own intuition for ourselves  is to practice developing it for others.

[26:44] Absolutely. And also you get a demonstration  because you can say, "Oh, wow. you know, I knew

[26:49] something that I couldn't have known about someone  else that is verifiable. And the way to put that,

[26:56] so I want to show you how to do something. Maybe  everyone who's watching can do it. Let's do it.

[27:01] I want you to let this hand because, you know,  in the physical world, having representation is

[27:05] important. So, pick a hand and have that hand be  the person who you're having difficulty with right

[27:12] now. Okay? Okay. This is a telepathy exercise  and we all have like listen to your head for a

[27:18] second. You are having so many conversations and  they are happening in real time. Yes, they are. So

[27:23] this is a telepathy exercise and actually we think  of telepathy coming from our head. It doesn't.

[27:29] Telepathy comes from our heart because your heart  has the strongest electrical charge in your body.

[27:34] It beats a 100,000 times a day sending that  charge out. So let this hand represent the person

[27:43] that you are having difficulty with,  difficult communication with and then

[27:48] take a moment simultaneously to be in your heart  and and don't close your eyes because when you

[27:55] need your intuition is never going to be when  you're sitting on a mountaintop as you well know.

[28:00] So in that beat, what is the result you want? And  take a moment. What is the actual result? Make it

[28:08] very tangible again not in your head in the beat.  What is that? What is that relief? Okay. So now

[28:17] and t take whatever time it takes bring the  person's energy in to that energy of your goal.

[28:26] And when your hand actually touches  your chest really let it touch.

[28:36] experience the contact between you and the  other person with that goal in the energy

[28:44] and just allow it to to rest there for a moment  to I I um I always use my bone marrow um as as a

[28:57] a pump in a sense because you're you're making new  red blood cells all the time. So let your marrow

[29:04] continue that energy of where that connection  happens. And what's really interesting as you

[29:10] do this is that you will experience your change  because it's never just you know an interaction

[29:18] is two people and two people or more than two  people and two people changing. You'll notice your

[29:24] your energy changes and the other person's  energy changes. And then there's that

[29:29] third energy of that connection. And then what  you do and you just keep your hand there until

[29:35] it's done. And then what you do is you notice in  the next minutes, hours, days how that changes.

[29:42] You speak about quantum entanglement. Can  you talk to us a little bit about that?

[29:47] So in in an energetic world we are all one.  There is no contact. But in a physical world

[29:56] once you make contact whether it's telepathically  over a distance or through astral projection

[30:03] remote viewing or just a contact like this  that contact continues. And one of the things

[30:11] that I think gets people into energetic trouble  is thinking you can just walk away from a contact.

[30:18] You you need to put a period at the end of your  sentences. You need to renegotiate your contracts.

[30:26] And you know a a a typical one we often see is our  love contracts where when we first got together,

[30:34] you know, you can possess me as long as you take  care of me. But no, I don't want to be possessed,

[30:39] but I still want you to take care of me. Like that  contract needs to be renegotiated on both sides,

[30:45] which means each person taking the responsibility.  So once you have contact with something in the

[30:50] physical world, you are always in contact. So  you always and there's a uh in the prism there

[30:55] there's a a whole part on contracts. You need to  renegotiate that contract. Now, the upside is also

[31:03] that being in dialogue, if you keep your side of  the street clean, and sometimes that side of the

[31:09] street is leaving the dialogue. It's like someone  cuts you off on a highway. How long do you argue

[31:14] with that person? Like two hours really, you're  never going to see that person again. And yet that

[31:19] that contact continues and you need to consciously  close it. You know, go with God, just not on my

[31:25] road. Yeah. So, we can take responsibility for  for our side. So Laura, a lot of people in our

[31:31] audience are here to develop their intuition. They  they they really want to own that inner power,

[31:40] that that higher self, that wise wisdom. So wait,  can I interrupt? Yes. Because your intuition,

[31:48] good sociopaths are brilliant intuitives. When  I think of your higher self, I think of the self

[31:55] that has evolved past pettiness. Your master self.  your master self. Um, intuition isn't good or bad.

[32:02] Intuition helps you do what you want to do. So, if  you want to rub rob a bank or or pull off a caper,

[32:08] your intuition, you know, can help you if you if  you target it properly. But what we want to do

[32:16] is use our intuition in ways that that get us  our goals because we are in a material world.

[32:24] When you want something, whether it's love or  money or standing or a good pizza, you know,

[32:32] really spiritual attainment is being able  to get that in a material. So, how do we use

[32:37] our intuition to manifest our goals? So, the first  thing you do is know what your goals are and not

[32:43] a laundry list. You know, we tend to have goals  and then we get distracted and we have a goal here

[32:47] and we frame our goals as problems. Problems are  great. Don't close your eyes to a bullet coming at

[32:52] you because it's a great way to get hit. But you  want your you want the focus of your life to be

[32:59] your goals. And they're long goals and immediate  goals. But once you work on your kind of longer

[33:05] goals, your immediate you you learn to do your  immediate goals. What happens when you have a

[33:09] goal? And I always say pick no more than three.  And those three should go over the under the

[33:15] umbrella of you. So it should be one. So for me  my goal is is always family but family is my work

[33:23] feels like family. Family is my travel feels like  family. Family is my family feels like family and

[33:28] I have some details on that one. Um family you  know so so it goes under the that one umbrella.

[33:35] Once you have defined goals, notice the people,  things, ideas, books, YouTubetubes you stumble on,

[33:45] posters you see that come from left field.  I guarantee if your intuition is telling

[33:52] you you're going to die in a fiery crash, that's  never going to happen. That's neurosis. Intuition

[33:58] responds to what is the can do right now.  So, write down those three goals because

[34:05] don't tape them. Write them down or if you're  not a word person, make pictures of them. Um,

[34:12] that that's why mandalas work so well. You know,  just make a picture. I'm not visual in that way. I

[34:17] write them down. Um, and not rambling a target.  Remember, arrow to a bull's eye. And then I

[34:26] like to, and you can do this in a voice note. I I  always carry a pen and a a pad like, "Oh, what did

[34:33] you notice all of a sudden? What happened? Where  where did this go? Where did that?" You'll begin

[34:38] to notice. And not just things that come to you,  but actual events like you met someone you haven't

[34:44] seen in 14 years. And wow, they just started a  company. That's exactly what you want to do. Um

[34:52] because when you have goals you your intuition  starts interfacing with a different world

[34:59] and then your job that's where ego traps you.  That's where your old beliefs and habits trap

[35:05] you. Studies show you don't see what you don't  see and you find what you're looking for.

[35:09] So look for good things, which doesn't mean you  ignore bad things, but look for good things and

[35:17] go with interactions unless they're dangerous.  And I always say unless they're dangerous because

[35:24] people, you know, people use intuition often as an  excuse for passive or dangerous behavior. And you

[35:35] know, I'm sorry if you get a sign you should quit  the job that pays your bills and become a writer,

[35:40] I would question that sign. Maybe wake up half an  hour earlier and write in the morning, but keep

[35:45] the job that pays your bill. Yeah, that's right.  That's right. You know, you are always intuitive.

[35:49] What happens is first of all, you have too many  questions and second and issues and second of all,

[35:55] it gets it it's gets part of the mishmash inside  of you, right? Whatever way you do it, put it

[36:03] outside of you routinely. I write everything down.  And what I do is once or twice a week, depending

[36:08] on how neurotic I am, once or twice a week, I look  at what I've noticed. Notice where it's led me.

[36:18] I check my predictions. I underline the things  that haven't happened yet because often timing,

[36:24] you know, since time is a con is a human  construct, timing can be a little funny and it

[36:31] begins to really I begin to tell myself the story  of the successful me. Yes, I love it. [music]

[36:42] Laura, let me just take a quick break for our  sponsors. With so much gratitude and appreciation,

[36:47] I just want to take a moment to  hear from our sponsors of the show.

[36:50] There are certain things in life that are easy  to put off because they don't feel urgent until

[36:54] suddenly something does. And that's why life  insurance can be one of those things. I cannot

[36:58] emphasize this enough, you guys. For me, anything  that helps me create more security and safety

[37:03] inside is something that's worth taking seriously.  And that's why I want to tell you about Ethos.

[37:09] Ethos makes getting life insurance fast and easy.  And the entire process is 100% online. You can

[37:14] get a quote in seconds, apply in 10 minutes,  and potentially get the same day coverage.

[37:19] I was talking to a friend and they were telling me  how they didn't have life insurance because they

[37:22] felt like it was too hard to figure out. They've  taken the guesswork out, people. There's no

[37:27] medical exam. You just answer a few simple health  questions online and you can get up to $3 million

[37:32] in coverage with some policies as low as $30 a  month. And what I really appreciate is that Ethos

[37:38] takes something that can feel really overwhelming,  like I shared about my friend, and you can just

[37:42] make it easy. just log on, take a few steps, there  you are. You've got your financial security for

[37:47] people that you care about. And it's one of those  things that you hope your family never needs,

[37:57] important that can be handled in minutes, take  advantage. Take 10 minutes to get covered today

[38:02] with life insurance through Ethos. Get your free  quote at ethos.com/gaby. That's ethos.com/gabby.

[38:10] Application rates may vary. I am super particular  about what goes onto my body, the products I use.

[38:18] I'm always asking the internet, is this  clean for me? And that's why I love the

[38:22] Luminous body lotion from Oak Essentials.  The first thing I noticed was the texture

[38:27] and it feels plush and rich, but it absorbs so  beautifully and never feels heavy or sticky.

[38:32] And my skin feels so much softer and smoother  and hydrated. And the finish is like a velvety

[38:37] finish. It's so nice. It gives you that just  left that spa kind of feeling. And the scent

[38:42] is incredible. It's clean. It's subtle, like a  spa, but it actually lasts. And I love that I

[38:47] can put it on after the shower and feel like I've  taken care of hydration and fragrance in one step.

[38:52] The lotion has this beautiful blue color,  antioxidant rich botanicals that help support

[38:57] my skin's moisture barrier and really help with  that rose oil and shea butter, coconut oil,

[39:02] and turmeric to make it really hydrated. I also  love that the whole Oak Essentials philosophy.

[39:09] It was founded by Jenny Kaine and everything  feels effortless, elevated, and intentional.

[39:14] The formulas are clean and made to strict EU  and UK standards without sulfates, petroleum,

[39:20] parabens, or unnecessary additives. And the  luminous body lotion has sold out multiple times.

[39:25] So head to oak essentials.com and use code gabby  for 15% off your first order at checkout. That's

[39:31] 15% off your order at oak essentials.com with  promo code Gabby. After your purchase, they'll ask

[39:41] I have some really exciting news about Dear Guides  Live, my friends. We just officially launched live

[39:46] stream tickets, which means you can now join us  from anywhere. On November 21st, I'm bringing

[39:51] four of the world's most respected mediums,  Maryanne DeMarco, Rebecca Rosen, John Holland,

[39:56] and Bradley Valentine together with me live  in SBA Theater in New York City. And so many

[40:02] people kept messaging me being like, "Gabby, I  want to do it on live stream. I can't travel.

[40:06] I just don't want to make it all the way to New  York." So, guess what? Live stream is available

[40:11] now. You can still join live. There's a handful  of tickets left, but live stream is available. So,

[40:16] if you ever wanted to feel more connected to your  guides and meet the deer guides mediums in person,

[40:22] this is it, guys. You're not going to want to  miss it. Go to gabbystein.com/arguides live

[40:28] event. You can get all the details for your  live stream ticket. And I am super psyched

[40:33] for you to join us, Dear Guides Live. Join us  on November 21st on live stream or in person.

[40:42] Okay. So, tell yourself the  story of the successful you.

[40:47] So, the first step is to write that goal and  define that goal. Yes. Then pay attention to what

[40:52] ideas or inspiration and intuition come. Also  not I think when we say intuition we expect it

[40:58] to be something different. Notice who you bump  into. Notice notice what you notice. Everything.

[41:03] Exactly. Notice what you notice. The hardest  thing in training intuition is people feel like a

[41:10] if you need to take a deep breath, put your thumb  and forefinger together and hold your crystals

[41:15] when you're about to get mugged. Your  intuition is not going to help you.

[41:18] Make it straight and simple. Intuition is a part  of you. Yes. But everyone has enough intuition to

[41:25] be able to use it effectively in their lives. Do  it as you're doing your life. Sometimes intuition

[41:32] points you to saying, "Wow, I have a half  of a chocolate cake and I have a neighbor

[41:36] on the second floor I've never met. I'm going  to take it down. Where'd you get that idea?"

[41:41] But it's safe, so why not? Why not try it?  So many of the greatest moments in my life

[41:47] and some of the most serviceoriented moments of my  life are when I've just listened to my intuition.

[41:53] I remember being in a yoga class and I just  kept hearing go upstairs to the 12step meeting

[41:57] and I just kept hearing I left the yoga class  halfway through walked up to the 12step meeting.

[42:02] There was a young woman in the meeting that  had one day sober and she became my spons.

[42:09] And she said to me many times, I may not have ever  gone back to that meeting if I hadn't met you.

[42:14] So just listening, listening, listening and  trust and just trusting and doing doing because

[42:19] you know listening and doing listening and doing.  So is that the third step? So you've got the goal,

[42:23] you're listening and noticing what you  notice. And then what's the third step?

[42:26] You interact as long as it's safe. Act. You  act because one of the things most people

[42:33] think life instead of living life. And the  reality is like people want to understand

[42:39] why their relationship is breaking up. You know  when you're going to understand 10 years from now.

[42:43] You know what you need to do now? You need to  take care of the mammal. You need to make sure

[42:47] your neurotransmitters are in shape. You're  getting early morning light. You're getting

[42:51] decent sleep. You're getting enough food.  You're moving enough. You have social support.

[42:55] You can understand and get closure when you have  some distance from it. Yes. And miracles happen

[43:03] in interaction. They they even if it's interaction  between you and a new idea, you need a catalyst

[43:11] because otherwise your your ego, your prism  holds you together, which is a wonderful thing,

[43:18] but it also holds you in place. Yeah. And once  you have goals, those catalysts will come and then

[43:27] you either say, "Wow, I've made this change."  Like, I've worked really hard on my crabby little

[43:34] temper and my crabby little temper is really  overwhelm. I get flooded and then I get crabby,

[43:39] but it's really not that nice for people around  me. I've worked really hard and and as I've

[43:44] worked on my crappy little temper, I've noticed  I've been included in more situations that maybe

[43:50] I wouldn't have been included in before because  of my crappy little temper. And I've noticed that

[43:56] actually I sleep better because I don't get myself  I don't make all that cortisol because I'm getting

[44:01] so upset about some stupid thing that really  I shouldn't be that upset about and etc etc.

[44:06] We're systems within systems within  a system. Within a system, etc., etc.

[44:13] A tiny interaction, a tiny change can change  your entire life. Absolutely. Yeah. You

[44:19] just said the most beautiful thing was  miracles happen in the interactions.

[44:23] Miracles happen in the interaction.  And they take a moment. They really

[44:26] take a brief fleeting moment. All it takes  is that one person to say that thing or that

[44:32] one person to look at you in a certain way. as you  pointed out, you're that one person probably for

[44:38] so many people you don't realize you've been that  one person for. Yeah. You know, and it's it's um

[44:46] it Oh, that just landed with me. Thank you. Thank  you. I think that landed with me in a a way that I

[44:51] hadn't ever really felt it. And this this goes for  everyone, but particularly people who are maybe

[44:56] very active on social media or just to remember  the contribution that you put out. Is it are

[45:01] you negatively contributing or are you positively  contributing energetically? Particularly now when

[45:05] we have these devices right here and we have such  impact and we could go viral in seconds and that

[45:11] every that we're being seen. Don't forget who's on  the other side of that that comment that post that

[45:19] that message or even just who's on the side  of the bus who's on the other side of the bus.

[45:23] And also the mo I think the greatest gift we can  give one another and it's much more true of your

[45:29] generation of self-help people than it is of my  generation is our fallibility is the fact that

[45:39] you know we have our bumps we have our warts  we have the things we struggle with and that

[45:45] is what gives us the offerings that we can give.  So Laura, you've given us some really powerful

[45:52] practices for developing our intuition but also  acting upon it and trusting it. I don't believe

[46:00] in trust. You don't believe in trust. Don't trust  anything. Talk to me about that. Okay. So belief

[46:06] is a beautiful thing. Belief means putting stock  in something you can't prove. I don't do that.

[46:15] I don't more courageous people than I do  that. I don't do that. I I have to be able

[46:21] to prove something to rely on it in any way or  even to give it any value. Okay? For example, I

[46:30] am also a medium. I transmit information. It's  verifiable. There's no way I could have known it.

[46:38] Um, I have myself been saved by from an from a  near fatal accident by a dead person telling me to

[46:47] put on my seatelt and waking me up a second  before we crashed. Um, I've had a lot of proofs

[46:54] that that exists, but I can still intellectualize.  Well, it could be energy left behind. Well,

[46:59] it could be well my human mind isn't I don't  believe in intuition. Intuition is a tool.

[47:06] belief is a is a wonderful courageous thing,  but if I'm jumping out of a burning building,

[47:12] I want to know the tensile strength of that  trampoline beneath me. I don't want to believe

[47:16] it's going to catch me. So, I think we do  need to be careful to separate our beliefs

[47:23] from our facts. Okay. I would say the one belief  I have is in the essential goodness of humanity.

[47:32] as much negative proof as positive proof. But I  would say that is probably my only belief. So,

[47:38] so you say never trust, don't trust  your intuition. Document it, verify it,

[47:44] know that sometimes it's fallible, but it  should be it should be reliable far far more

[47:51] than it's fallible. And that's something people  always say, trust your intuition. Trust your

[47:55] intuition. Trust your intuition. This is super  powerful to say no, don't trust your intuition

[48:00] because you want to have the proof. You want to  validate it. And sometimes your ego, the the lower

[48:07] ego necessarily could get in the way and you want  to refine your tool. Intuition is a tool just like

[48:12] we refine our intellect, right? We refine our  cultural senses. Kind of like skiing actually

[48:17] because it's like you trust yourself to go down  the mountain, but you're not just going to freef

[48:20] fall, you know? You're not Yeah. Okay. Right. and  and and you and when you document, you also know

[48:28] when you need to learn. So, for example, I know  I was raised by a violent narcissist and a manic

[48:34] depressive bipolar one who I had to remind  to put on clothes before going out the door.

[48:40] I know the one place that I need to absolutely  mistrust my intuition is in relationships. There

[48:47] you go. I'm great with money. I'm great  with real estate. I'm great with all that

[48:50] relationships. You know, I found my current  husband. 15. Hey, you found the most beautiful

[48:54] husband. Most beautiful husband. You definitely  developed your intuition. No, I didn't.

[48:58] Oh, Jesus. What I did is I said, "You know what?  My intuition is still looking for my mother and my

[49:03] father because we love our parents no matter  what." Yeah. I asked my two best girlfriends

[49:09] because my girlfriends really love and care for  me. I asked my two best girlfriends to introduce

[49:14] me to men they had known for at least 10 years  who were nice to their ex-wives and children but

[49:20] had to have ex-wives and children and who had  nothing to do with Hollywood that I didn't get.

[49:25] Um, no artist, no Hollywood that I did not get.  But I got two out of three and those are the only

[49:29] men I dated. If I liked a man and and like I I  thought you know that feeling I would leave the

[49:36] place. This is really cool. What you're saying  is fascinating. Don't trust your own intuition,

[49:41] particularly in the areas where you know you are  still shaky and squirly, right? And lean on and

[49:47] rely on the intuition of those who love you or and  also the intellect. You know, we're all so good at

[49:54] throwing babies out with bathwater. Um when my son  was little and had an earachche, I was lucky my

[50:03] pediatrician lived across the street and I would  take him every day to have his ear checked. Um,

[50:08] and I would do steam, I'd do essential oils, but  if that ear irritation turned into an infection,

[50:18] I would do an antibiotic. Of course. Yeah.  A lot of people don't. A lot of people,

[50:23] you know, one of the hardest things I  think I've observed as a human being

[50:29] is is to hold two polarities without blending  them. Black and white without making gray. I

[50:38] firmly have experienced that healing works. Yeah.  And that all of these alternative things work. But

[50:47] if they don't, I am also going to use everything  medicine has to offer. I find you to be so

[50:55] uh enlightening for me and such a great teacher  for me. You've taught me really big things today

[51:01] and the practices have been quite lifealtering for  me. I think to be really honest, you bring this

[51:08] I I've I've I've spent some time looking at what  you do and you you bring all of this knowing in

[51:15] such a loving way to your community, you know,  and I think that that's what's so wonderful about

[51:23] these kind of interactions is that we we share  and we bring it to new communities and we

[51:29] make things better hopefully. Yeah. And I think  that there's even more of that that needs to be

[51:33] happening of more spiritual collaboration because  there's different communities and and different

[51:39] different teachers that different people will  connect to. But right now, we just need everybody

[51:44] having whatever resources they can get access to.  So, I think it's really valuable that you brought

[51:49] your presence to this to the barn today. Yeah. And  you're just gorgeous inside and out. You really

[51:54] are. Right back at you. Wow. Okay. Well, everyone,  we learned a lot today with my new beloved friend,

[52:01] Laura. And I really want you to take in what Laura  said about trusting but not trusting too much

[52:08] because that was a big one. I'm thinking that's  my big takeaway. Verify. Yeah. Verify. Verify

[52:14] because we can get in the way of that intuition.  There's a great one of my very favorite quotes

[52:19] and I can't find who to attribute it to. But the  good scientist suspends disbelief and runs the

[52:26] experiment anyway. Suspend your disbelief and run  the experiment anyway. Laura has so much to give

[52:32] us. I have to say that her book, The Prism, is one  of my favorite books. It really is an excellent,

[52:39] excellent book, and I don't say that often.  And the Prism, Seven Steps to Heal Your Past

[52:44] and Transform Your Future, is linked right below  this video. We're putting it in the show notes.

[52:48] We're putting it in the description. Go get your  copy of the Prism if you're ready to open up to

[52:53] that connection, to that deeper connection to your  inner wisdom, to the community that we're creating

[53:00] here. We're bringing this live in New York City on  November 21st. Just go to deargaby.comguides live

[53:09] and join me Maryannne DeMarco, Rebecca Rosen,  John Holland, and Bradley Valentine for a very

[53:15] powerful day of connecting to our own inner  wisdom, connecting to our spiritual connection,

[53:20] connecting to our deceased loved ones and guides.  Join us for Dear Guides Live. And if you've made

[53:25] it all the way to the end here, I want you to know  that I love you and I'm proud of you. And I want

[53:30] you to stick around for the miracles and take what  you've learned here and start applying it today.

[53:36] Leave a comment below and let us know what is  it that you're going to bring into this practice

[53:41] today. Have a blessed blessed week. I love you.  If you liked this video, you're going to love

[53:45] my video with Rebecca Rosen on developing  your intuition. Check it out right here.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Laura Day describes the master self as the highest, wisest version of you across every point of your life, past, present, and future. She argues that you can learn to dialogue with it, and that it can guide you as your own inner guru, healer, and angel. She contrasts this with the habit of externalizing wisdom into other people or teachers.
Place a physical object like a water bottle in front of you and designate it as your master self, then ask it a real question. Day says the answer usually arrives indirectly, such as a video you remember, a book that comes to mind, or a person who can help. Notice where those associations lead you and follow them if it is safe.
Day's three steps are to define your goals, notice what you notice, and interact when it is safe. Goals give intuition a context so signals point somewhere useful. Interaction is limited by safety, since she says intuition will not help in a dangerous moment like being mugged.
Day says the phrase she wants people to hear is "Don't trust your intuition. Document it. Verify it." A vivid feeling can still be wrong, especially when you already want a particular outcome. Documenting what you notice and reviewing it once or twice a week lets you check which signals actually led somewhere.
Day argues that people magicalize intuition, treating it as a rare event. She describes it instead as something always running through your everyday interactions with the world. Her point is that intuition shows up in ordinary details, and the skill lies in noticing and acting on them.
Day's telepathy exercise is framed as heart-centered and focused on your own part in a relationship. Participants are asked to get specific about the result they want and hold that intention during an interaction. The aim is to let your next small action come from a clearer place rather than to manipulate someone else.
Gabrielle Bernstein, who trained in internal family systems therapy, connects Day's master self to the IFS concept of "Self" with a capital S, the essence of an internal parent. Both describe a presence you can bring fear and ego-driven thoughts to and receive compassion, calm, and clarity from.
