Lalita Sahasranama's Secret Origins: A Navarathri Teaching

Sri Karunamayi
Sri Karunamayi

Watch · 8

Sri Karunamayi's Navarathri message for 2026, the third part of a series posted to her channel on October 22, is less a sermon than an origin story. She tells how the thousand-name hymn to the Divine Mother, Lalitambika, was first given to the world, how its verses were opened before a vast assembly of gods, sages and attendant goddesses in a cosmic abode called Manidweepam, and why the hymn carries the word rahasya, secret, in its title. From that account she draws three working claims for devotees: that the bija mantras embedded in the hymn act like medicine on the inner nature, that its depth cannot be reached by reading alone, and that a guru's grace is what makes the hidden meaning visible. The talk runs about twenty-four minutes, and what follows explains her framework so that it can be understood without watching it.

Where Does the Lalita Sahasranama Begin?

In her telling, the hymn did not start with a human author. She places its first transmission in a chain of divine teachers. "The first time the Srividya was given to the world," she says, it was Sree Dakshinamurthy Swamy who gave it, and the next to grant the boon of the Lalitambika Sahasranama was Sree Hayagreeva Bhagwan, whom she identifies as an incarnation of Bhagwan Vishnu. Dakshinamurthy is, in her words, "nothing but Ishwara," and Hayagreeva is "nothing but Bhagwan Vishnu." Both, she says, wanted to teach the world about the Divine Mother, and the knowledge they carried was given to humanity as grace.

She then names a third figure, Vyasa Maharshi, who composed the Brahmanda Purana and spoke at length about Lalitambika Devi within it. For a listener new to this lineage, the point to hold is the sequence: the hymn is presented not as a poem someone happened to write but as knowledge that passed through successive divine teachers before it reached the human ear.

The most distinctive part of her account concerns who composed the hymn itself. The first name of the Sahasranama, she says, "comes from the mouths of the Vashinyadi Vag Devatas in the Manidweepam." These eight goddesses, she explains, are descended from the effulgence of Lalitambika. Her description is vivid: eight white rays come forth from the Divine Mother, and from those rays the eight mothers take form.

"Vashinyadi Vag Devatas are descended from the effulgence of Lalitambika Divine Mother. From the effulgence of Lalitambika Mother, the eight divine mothers are they descended from that light."

— Sri Karunamayi, Navarathri 2026 message, Part 3 (YouTube, 2:22)

She extends this to a theology of light. Lalitambika, she says, is effulgence in form, so all divine forms arise from her radiance. When Lalitambika looks upon Maha Kameshwara and he looks back, light flows from the eyes of each, and where those two streams meet, Ganesha takes form. The logic she is building is that the beings who composed the hymn know its subject intimately, because they emerged from her light. That, in her framework, is why they can speak its "extreme secrets."

Why Did the Divine Mother Call Every Universe to Manidweepam?

This is where the talk turns cinematic. After the eight Vagdevatas composed the hymn, they came before the Divine Mother and announced that they had prepared it. She told them to wait, because the hymn was not only for them. "Wait, wait. I will call all the people," she says in the telling, and the summons went out to every universe.

Sri Karunamayi's cosmology is expansive. Wherever there is earth, she says, there is a brahmanda, and in each one creation, sustenance and dissolution are at work. Since there are countless planets, there are countless Rudras, countless Vishnus, countless Brahmas, and countless lesser deities, and each of them travels to the great assembly of Manidweepam to have darshan of Lalitambika. She calls the gathering the avishkarana, the unveiling, of the Lalita Sahasranama. The hymn's opening was not a private event but a convocation of the cosmos.

The atmosphere she describes is ceremonial and intensely emotional. The assembly keeps pin-drop silence. The Vagdevatas approach, kneel before the Mother, place their hands on their heads in kamala mudra, and begin the recitation. Here her language reaches its peak:

"They're crying with tears of joy."

— Sri Karunamayi, Navarathri 2026 message, Part 3 (YouTube, 9:31)

She describes goosebumps, shivering with ananda, and joy too strong to be controlled. The scene works as a model for the listener. The hymn is not meant to be recited from a distance; the body and the heart are expected to respond to it, and the response she holds up as the proper one is weeping, not composure.

Who Is in the Room at Manidweepam?

Her account names the assembly's members in three broad classes, which she calls augha, meaning great groups. The first is the divya augha, the company of divine beings. She lists figures such as Mitresa Mayi, Uddisa Mayi, Sastisa Mayi and Caryana Mayi as devatas and devatas-related gurus. The second is the siddha augha, the perfected masters, which she illustrates with Agastya Maharshi and Lopamudra Devi. The third is the manava augha, the human sages, among whom she places Adi Shankaracharya.

Each group takes its place. The Divine Mother is seated on her divya simhasana, a throne she describes in lavish detail. The seating is structured, and the structure is part of the teaching: even in the cosmic court, everyone has a respective seat, and the hymn is received within a hierarchy of devotion and knowledge.

The setting itself carries weight for her. In the Chintamani Gruham, she says, the Divine Mother sits on the Pancha Brahmasanam, the five-brahma seat.

"In that Chintamani Gruham, Divine Mother was seated on the Pancha Brahmasanam. Very beautiful."

— Sri Karunamayi, Navarathri 2026 message, Part 3 (YouTube, 5:55)

She uses that seat to make a broader point about place. Shakti Peethams, she insists, are not sites chosen by builders who then erect temples. The energy comes first. "It's not we are choosing some area and building some construction there," she says. Wherever there is Shakti, the temples come afterward. She describes cosmic energy flowing into particular areas and calls the power there "unbelievable." For her, sacred architecture follows sacred ground and does not create it.

What Does Rahasya Really Mean?

The title question is where the talk becomes most interesting as a piece of thinking. People, she says, ask what the word rahasya means in the hymn's name. Her answer begins with a negative: rahasya is not a materialistic category. The secrets it points to cannot be treated as data to be analyzed by the ordinary mind. She contrasts them with what can be seen through external eyes and understood through the discursive mind, and she distinguishes a second meaning, guhya shastra, the hidden teaching.

The implication is that the hymn is a text that changes its reader as it is understood. This is why she keeps returning to the figure of the guru. A reader can know the words and still miss what they carry. Their hidden structure becomes accessible through inner perception and through the grace of a teacher, not through scholarship alone.

How Do the Bija Mantras Work Inside the Hymn?

Her most practical teaching concerns the bija mantras, the seed syllables embedded in the names. She describes three kinds, each with a distinct function. Chandra bija, the moon seed, cools the heart and calms the rajasic and tamasic tendencies, along with ignorance, illusion and arrogance. Surya bija, the sun seed, burns dark forces, anger, lust, greed and jealousy. Agni bija, the fire seed, purifies "like laser rays," burning impurities from inside.

"Some bija mantras, Chandra bija mantras are there. The Chandra bija mantras make our heart cool."

— Sri Karunamayi, Navarathri 2026 message, Part 3 (YouTube, 10:40)

She frames these as medicine. A devotee who recites a name without noticing the seed inside is taking the remedy without knowing what it treats. She says that a name's bija mantra is not obvious on the surface, and that recognizing it "with the grace of your guru" is what allows its work to begin. The practical lesson is that the hymn rewards a student who asks, with a teacher's help, what each name is doing beneath its sound.

Why Does Understanding the Hymn Require Tapas?

She is blunt about the limits of casual engagement. The depth of a single mantra, she says, cannot be understood by most listeners, and she offers a comparison: one could count the grains of sand in a desert, but the divinity embedded in a bija mantra cannot be measured that way.

"But to know the depth of Lalita Sahasranama's one mantra depth also, we cannot understand. We need more tapas. Intense sadhana. Serious sadhana."

— Sri Karunamayi, Navarathri 2026 message, Part 3 (YouTube, 9:53)

Her emphasis on tapas, disciplined austerity and sustained practice, explains why she treats the Sahasranama as a lifelong undertaking. Because the hymn's depth cannot be exhausted in one reading, the practitioner's own purification becomes part of the process of understanding it. The knowledge is not separate from the person who seeks it.

What Should a Devotee Take From This Teaching?

Sri Karunamayi's Navarathri teaching is most useful when read as a framework rather than as a set of verifiable historical claims. Her account of the hymn's origin rests on a cosmology of countless universes, divine descent from effulgence, and the transmission of knowledge through named divine teachers. Those are articles of her tradition, and she presents them as such. What travels across that boundary is her method: treat the hymn as a living text, attend to the bija mantras inside its names, seek a guru's guidance for what is hidden, and expect the practice to ask something of you.

Where to go from here

If this teaching has opened a question for you, start with the sequence she lays out. Read the earlier parts of her Navarathri series, which this third installment builds on. Then take up the names of the Sahasranama one at a time, asking which bija seed might be at work in each, and bring those questions to a teacher you trust. The simplest first step is also the one she keeps returning to: slow down. Her account suggests that the hymn is not a text to be finished but a practice to be lived into over many years, which is what she means by tapas.

[0:28] Embodiment of divine souls, Amma and all

[0:30] the sweet children, welcome all of you.

[0:34] Some people have this question.

[0:37] Lalita Sahasranama Sahasram

[0:40] What is called the rahasya?

[0:42] Rahasyam in secret.

[0:44] What is the meaning of rahasya here?

[0:47] In this name here is the question of

[0:50] some people.

[0:51] The first time the Srividya was given to

[0:54] the world

[0:56] Sree Dakshinamurthy Swamy.

[0:58] Next to Sree Lalitambika Sahasranama

[1:01] Sahasram

[1:02] given to the grant the boon to the world

[1:05] Sree Hayagreeva Bhagwan, Bhagwan Vishnu.

[1:08] Hayagreeva Bhagwan is the incarnation of

[1:10] Bhagwan Vishnu.

[1:12] So,

[1:14] Dakshinamurthy Swamy is nothing but

[1:17] Ishwara.

[1:18] Hayagreeva Bhagwan is nothing but

[1:21] Bhagwan Vishnu.

[1:22] Bhagwan Vishnu and Ishwara

[1:25] the divine mother knowledge

[1:28] given to the mankind. It is grace.

[1:32] The both want to

[1:35] teach this world about divine mother.

[1:38] Who? Two people, Bhagwan Vishnu and

[1:42] Bhagwan Shankar Bhagwan. Both want to

[1:44] teach about divine mother to our

[1:47] mankind.

[1:48] And then the third one is

[1:51] Vyasa Deva, Vyasa Maharshi.

[1:54] He composed the Brahmanda Purana. In the

[1:57] Brahmanda Purana, he spoke a lot about

[2:00] Lalitambika Devi.

[2:02] The first name Sri Lalitambika

[2:04] Sahasranama Sahasras comes from the

[2:07] mouths of the Vashinyadi Vag Devatas in

[2:10] the Manidweepam.

[2:12] Vashinyadi Vag Devatas are descended

[2:15] from the effulgence of Lalitambika

[2:18] Divine Mother.

[2:20] From the effulgence of Lalitambika

[2:22] Mother, the eight divine mothers are

[2:26] they descended from that light. What is

[2:29] this light? Eight white color rays comes

[2:33] from the Divine Mother.

[2:35] Beautiful white color rays.

[2:38] From this rays,

[2:40] eight mothers are descended from

[2:43] Lalitambika Devi

[2:45] effulgence.

[2:47] When we see

[2:49] some of the mantras now. When

[2:51] Lalitambika Devi watching Kameshwara,

[2:54] Kameshwara Mukha Loka Kalpita Sri

[2:57] Ganeshwara.

[2:59] Lalitambika Devi was watching Maha

[3:01] Kameshwara.

[3:03] Maha Kameshwara was watching Lalitambika

[3:05] Devi.

[3:07] Then the effulgence comes from the eyes

[3:11] of Divine Mother.

[3:12] The effulgence comes from the eyes of

[3:14] Shankar Bhagwan. From the both

[3:17] effulgences

[3:18] come together in one place, then

[3:22] Kameshwara Mukha Loka Kalpita Sri

[3:25] Ganeshwara. Then Ganesha form

[3:29] comes from the effulgence of that light.

[3:31] Because Lalitambika Devi is effulgence

[3:35] form only.

[3:37] That's why all the divine forms come

[3:39] from the effulgence of Divine Mother

[3:41] only.

[3:42] That is the cosmic form of the Divine

[3:45] Mother.

[3:46] So, because they came from the

[3:49] Lalitambika Devi, that's why they know

[3:52] about Lalitambika Devi very well. They

[3:56] says extreme secrets of Lalitambika Devi

[4:00] in the Lalita Sahasranama Sahasram.

[4:03] These devatas are mantradhi devatas.

[4:07] So, because of the Lalitambika Devi

[4:10] order, they're thinking about

[4:12] Lalitambika Devi, and then what kind of

[4:17] things we have to give to the world

[4:19] about Lalitambika Devi, they have

[4:22] bhavana, they give the bhavana of

[4:24] Lalitambika Devi, and then they are

[4:26] started to

[4:28] compose beautiful stotram about

[4:31] Lalitambika Devi.

[4:33] Then everybody came to the divine

[4:35] mother,

[4:36] and they says, "Mother, we prepared

[4:39] Lalita Sahasranama Sahasram."

[4:42] Then divine mother says, "Wait, wait. I

[4:44] will call all the people."

[4:46] All the people means all the brahmandas

[4:50] people.

[4:51] We have Wherever there is mother earth,

[4:54] it's a brahmandam. So, creation is

[4:56] going, sustainability is there, and

[4:59] dissolution is also there.

[5:01] Each planet have

[5:04] creation, sustainability, dissolution.

[5:07] So, how many planets in the sky?

[5:10] Countless. So, that's why countless

[5:13] Rudras, countless Vishnus, countless

[5:17] Brahmas, so [clears throat] many devatas

[5:19] like these comes from the each

[5:21] brahmandam to the Manidvipa Mahasabha.

[5:24] Mahasabha means the greatest beautiful

[5:28] Manidvipam. All the devatas came all the

[5:31] way to have the darshan of the divine

[5:34] mother Lalitambika Devi.

[5:37] This is the avishkarana of opening of

[5:40] Lalita Sahasranamam.

[5:41] That is the gathering of all the people.

[5:44] It happened in the Manidvipam.

[5:47] Lalita Sahasranamam was composed by the

[5:49] Vasinyadi Vagdevatas. Opening also

[5:52] happened in the Manidweepam.

[5:55] In that Chintamani Gruham, Divine Mother

[5:58] was seated on the Pancha Brahmasanam.

[6:01] Very beautiful.

[6:02] Pancha Brahmasana Sthita.

[6:05] In Bharata, there are so many Shakti

[6:07] Peethams.

[6:09] All the Shakti Peethams very very

[6:11] natural Shakti Peethams. Powerful Shakti

[6:13] Peethams. The energy level of that area

[6:16] is incredible.

[6:17] We show you Panchakamakshi Devi, our

[6:20] Shakti Peetham. How the cosmic energy

[6:23] was flowing from the cosmos to that

[6:26] area.

[6:28] So, Shakti Peethams are very powerful

[6:30] like that only. Unbelievable Shakti

[6:33] there.

[6:34] It's not we are choosing some area and

[6:36] building some construction there. It is

[6:39] not that.

[6:41] Wherever there is Shakti, then

[6:43] temples are comes after they Shakti

[6:46] Peethams are

[6:47] already there.

[6:49] So,

[6:51] in Peninsula, we have Divine Mother

[6:54] Pancha Brahmasanam.

[6:56] In the entire country, Pancha Brahmasana

[6:59] Sthita Lalitambika is only in Peninsula

[7:01] Manidweepa Mahasamsthanam.

[7:03] Very auspicious. Unbelievable Shakti and

[7:07] power here in the Pancha Brahmasanam.

[7:09] All the Brahmandas, innumerable

[7:12] Brahmandas, entire cosmos, all the

[7:15] Brahmas, Vishnus, Ishwaras, innumerable

[7:18] Devatas, innumerable Shaktis, everybody

[7:20] came all the way to the abode of Sri

[7:23] Lalitambika Devi to the Manidweepam.

[7:26] And

[7:27] crores and crores of the galaxies and

[7:29] Milky Ways and everything from all the

[7:32] crores of the Brahmandas,

[7:34] everybody,

[7:36] the Srishti Sthiti Laya Kartas, the

[7:38] creators, everybody came. And Parivara

[7:42] Devatas, Divine Mother Parivara Devatas.

[7:46] mantrini dandini mukhyaha

[7:48] sevatam yaha samakataha

[7:51] shyamala devi, varahi devi, anga upang

[7:56] innumerable devatas

[7:58] countless devatas, devis, everybody came

[8:01] to this mani dweepam and then everybody

[8:03] seated in their respective seats.

[8:06] divya augha

[8:08] siddha augha, manava augha

[8:11] Augha means a great group, big group.

[8:16] Divya augha means devata goti, devatas,

[8:20] no? Devatas related gurus. For example,

[8:24] mitresa mayi, uddisa mayi, sastisa mayi,

[8:27] caryana mayi

[8:29] These are the devatas. Siddha gurus

[8:33] Who is the siddha guru? Siddha augha.

[8:36] Siddha gurus means like Agastya

[8:38] Maharshi, Lopamudra Devi. These are the

[8:41] siddha gurus groups and then

[8:44] manava augha, like Adi Shankaracharya.

[8:48] They are like very divine people in the

[8:51] manava augha. Divine Mother was seated

[8:53] on her divya divya simhasana. Very

[8:57] beautiful simhasana, seated on her

[8:59] simhasana. Everybody was maintaining pin

[9:03] drop silence and the masinyadi varga

[9:05] devatas later

[9:07] and came to the divine mother

[9:09] and kneeled down in front of mother.

[9:12] They put their hands on their head with

[9:15] the kamala mudra on their heads and

[9:18] started Lalita Sahasranama recitation.

[9:22] And the goose bumps comes and the tears

[9:24] of joy in the masinyadi varga devatas.

[9:28] There is a lot of happiness.

[9:31] They're crying with tears of joy.

[9:34] And they got goose bumps and shivering

[9:37] with the ananda.

[9:39] They're not able to control their

[9:41] Ananda. They're chanting Lalita

[9:43] Sahasranama with lot of love.

[9:46] We can go to the depth of the emotion.

[9:48] We can see how much is the depth of the

[9:50] emotions. It's easy to know about that.

[9:53] But to know the depth of Lalita

[9:55] Sahasranama's one mantra depth also, we

[9:58] cannot understand.

[10:01] We need more tapas.

[10:04] Intense sadhana.

[10:07] Serious sadhana.

[10:09] That's why if it is last lifetime, then

[10:13] we get sadhana of Lalita Sahasranama.

[10:15] Not common people cannot handle this

[10:18] one.

[10:19] And then if you go to the desert,

[10:22] we can count each sand particle.

[10:25] But

[10:27] how much is the divinity embedded in

[10:29] each of bija mantras? Where is the

[10:32] secret of the bija mantras?

[10:34] We cannot handle that.

[10:37] We don't understand that.

[10:40] Some bija mantras, Chandra bija mantras

[10:42] are there. The Chandra bija mantras make

[10:44] our heart cool.

[10:47] All our rasi nature, tamasic nature,

[10:49] ignorance, illusion

[10:51] and all our arrogance, everything will

[10:54] subside by the moon bija mantras.

[10:58] Some Surya bija mantras, sun bija

[11:00] mantras,

[11:01] ignorance, dark forces, anger, lust,

[11:04] greedy, jealousy, everything burned by

[11:07] the the bija mantras. Some Agni bija

[11:09] mantras.

[11:11] Completely purified like a laser rays.

[11:15] They burned all the impurities inside.

[11:18] These are the bija mantras are embedded

[11:20] in mantras.

[11:22] When we see the name, we don't

[11:23] understand where is the bija mantra

[11:25] secretly embedded in that mantra.

[11:28] But with the grace of your guru, you can

[11:31] understand where is the beej mantra,

[11:34] what that beej mantra does inside like a

[11:38] medication and purifies our disease of

[11:41] ignorance, illusion, maya completely.

[11:47] Countless lifetimes of the mountains and

[11:49] mountains of the karmic bondage is

[11:52] holding on our shoulders, everything

[11:54] will relax by the recitation of the

[11:57] Lalita Sahasranama.

[12:00] Easy to go to the edge of the sky.

[12:04] How much is the vastness of the sky? We

[12:06] can count that also,

[12:08] but it is impossible to know the middle,

[12:12] the beginning, the ending of the

[12:15] divinity of Lalita Ambika Devi glory in

[12:19] the Lalita Sahasranama embedded in the

[12:21] beej mantras.

[12:23] Embodiment of divine souls, I'm not

[12:24] speaking anything exaggeratedly here.

[12:28] Vedic scholars,

[12:30] the sadhakas, the Panchadasi Mahamantra

[12:33] sadhakas, the Shodashakshari Mahamantra

[12:36] true sadhakas,

[12:39] they know the value of this.

[12:42] They're completely in silence.

[12:44] They never show up anything. They don't

[12:47] like to prove what they're doing to you.

[12:50] They want to improve themselves in their

[12:52] life to attain realization in this

[12:55] lifetime.

[12:56] They don't like to expect to prove in

[12:59] front of all the people I'm doing this.

[13:01] Not necessary to walk those things.

[13:04] We have to improve ourselves.

[13:06] That is very essential.

[13:08] Same priyo namo deha

[13:11] tasmai kaman dadamyaham

[13:14] idam nama sahasram me yo bhakta pated

[13:17] sakrutu.

[13:18] It means

[13:20] if any my bhaktas, they start the

[13:23] recitation of Lalita Sahasranama,

[13:26] I'm very happy with that recitation. Why

[13:29] divine mother is happy when you praise

[13:31] divine mother? Because you are praising

[13:34] her, that's why she's happy. No, no, no,

[13:35] no, no. That's not the truth.

[13:39] Stotra priya means somebody when we

[13:41] praise divine mother, divine mother is

[13:42] very happy when you praise her. It's a

[13:45] meaningless thing only.

[13:48] Finally, countless lifetimes you are

[13:52] missing your mother.

[13:54] You're missing your mother, you are

[13:56] going to the entertainment ignorant

[13:59] lifestyle.

[14:01] Finally, you stop all the illusionary

[14:03] things and come back to the mother.

[14:07] That's why she's very happy and you

[14:10] started to chant the stotram, Lalita

[14:13] Sahasranama Stotram,

[14:15] mantra shastram.

[14:17] The bija mantras energy completely

[14:19] destroyed all the karma, elevates you to

[14:22] the ignorance level to the consciousness

[14:26] level. That's why mother was very happy

[14:28] when you do the Lalita Sahasranama

[14:30] Stotram. Sa me priyo amogha neha tasmai

[14:34] kamam dadamyaham idam nama sahasram me

[14:37] yo bhakta pathet sukrut.

[14:40] If you chant this Sahasranama, I'm very

[14:43] happy. I'm going to grant you moksha.

[14:46] Whatever you wish and do that. Mother,

[14:49] why she says that?

[14:51] Finally, you came back to her.

[14:54] You miss your mother and going into the

[14:57] illusionary roads and going here and

[14:59] there and walking there and here and

[15:01] there and so many

[15:04] so many pains and challenges, problems

[15:06] and countless lifetimes in the darkness

[15:09] of the light and finally

[15:13] with the grace of divine mother, the

[15:15] encompassing grace of divine mother, you

[15:17] came back to her and then

[15:20] you started to sing the glory of Lalita

[15:22] Sahasranama,

[15:24] then mother is happy. Not to praise her

[15:27] glory, she's not happy with that. You're

[15:29] coming back to her home, parental home.

[15:32] If you do the puja, if you do the

[15:35] archana or not. Archana means puja.

[15:39] If you do my mantra japa or not.

[15:42] But bhakti, with bhakti, if you chant

[15:46] Lalita Sahasranama, what mother says is,

[15:49] if you chant my mantra or not, if you

[15:52] are not going to chant Panchadasi

[15:54] mantra, Shodasi mantra, it's okay.

[15:57] If you never do the Sri Chakra puja,

[15:59] it's okay.

[16:01] If you never do the mantra japa sadhana,

[16:03] that's okay. But if you chant Lalita

[16:07] Sahasranama stotram

[16:09] in this lifetime, I'm very pleased with

[16:12] that.

[16:14] Mother is very pleased with that because

[16:16] you came back to the home.

[16:19] After so many countless lifetimes, in

[16:21] the dark side lifestyle, you came back

[16:24] to the home to stay in light. That's why

[16:27] mother is happy to see you back.

[16:30] Without any mistakes, you have to chant

[16:32] these mantras, very important. If you

[16:36] change the recitation of the mantras,

[16:38] any mistakes there, mantra meanings will

[16:42] change completely.

[16:44] Lot of problems comes to you. That's why

[16:46] with devotion, bhaktas

[16:49] definitely disciples have to chant this

[16:52] stotram with devotion. Vedas are the

[16:55] breath of almighty. From the Nirguna

[16:58] Parabrahman, all the Vedas comes to the

[17:01] world.

[17:02] So, the Nirguna Parabrahman, all the

[17:05] Vedas are sound forms only, sound forms

[17:09] only. These Vedas

[17:12] some human beings are not created this.

[17:15] It's not the jiva srishti. Some human

[17:18] beings are not created this way also.

[17:20] These are the breadth of the nirguna

[17:23] parabrahma. The sounds comes from the

[17:25] akasha in the mantra mandala,

[17:28] nada mandala,

[17:29] megha mandala,

[17:31] hamsa mandala.

[17:33] So, guru mandala, innumerable mandalas

[17:35] are there. Nijaruna prabhapura madhya

[17:37] brahmanda mandala. Innumerable mandalas

[17:40] are there. Hamsa mandala, mina mandala.

[17:44] So, in this mandalas, mantra mandala is

[17:47] there. The breadth of the nirguna

[17:49] parabrahma, all mantra sounds are

[17:51] traveling like a beautiful waves in the

[17:55] mantra mandala.

[17:57] These are not the jiva srishti, not

[17:59] human beings are not composed any

[18:01] mantras.

[18:03] And it's not the purusha srishti, any

[18:04] human being, a man, never created this

[18:07] mantras. These are called apaurusheyas.

[18:10] Apaurusheyam, apaurusheyam means Lalita

[18:14] sahasranama is also apaurusheyam, not

[18:17] composed by human beings. This Lalita

[18:20] sahasranama is sakshat vedam, no doubt

[18:25] at all.

[18:26] How much is the power for the veda

[18:29] parayanam, the recitation of the veda,

[18:31] the same power comes to Lalita

[18:33] sahasranama recitation also.

[18:36] Why they are saying rahasya? Rahasya

[18:40] means the meanings are looking like

[18:43] external meanings only, but here Sri

[18:47] Chakra avirbhavam,

[18:49] how from the bindu of the consciousness,

[18:52] how the creation comes slowly, all the

[18:56] creation, Sri Chakra rahasyas, Sri Vidya

[19:00] secrets, yoga shastra secrets, mantra

[19:04] shastra secrets, atindriya vijnanam, all

[19:07] these things are everything is embedded

[19:10] in the Sahasranama.

[19:13] Atindriya Vignana, it is not the Indriya

[19:16] Vignana. Indriya Vignana means we heard

[19:19] something with our ears, we understand,

[19:21] we think something with our brain and

[19:23] with the mind and watching with eyes and

[19:27] it is all these are the external organs

[19:30] are working

[19:31] and their knowledge is very limited.

[19:34] Atindriya Vignana is beyond our external

[19:37] organs, it's a beyond knowledge. That

[19:40] Atindriya Vignana is embedded in the

[19:43] Lalita Sahasranama. That's why it is the

[19:46] Veda recitation only.

[19:48] That's why it is Rahasya ati Rahasyam.

[19:51] Secrets among the secrets. Vedanta

[19:54] secrets are there, Sri Chakra secrets

[19:57] are there, innumerable secrets, Yoga

[19:59] Shastra secrets are there, Kundalini

[20:02] Yoga secrets are there. All these

[20:04] Atindriya Vignana is embedded in Lalita

[20:06] Sahasranama.

[20:08] That's why it is Lalitambika.

[20:11] Sri Mata Dharmamayi, Mantramayi,

[20:15] Tatvamayi.

[20:16] All the three forms are one form, that

[20:19] is Lalitambika. Dharmam, Mantram,

[20:23] Tatvam. Tatvam means philosophy.

[20:26] Dharmam is the lifestyle. We have to

[20:28] lead a Dharmic values life. And the

[20:31] Mantram is Mantra Shakti. Dharmam,

[20:34] Mantram, Tatvam. Three things are

[20:37] combined together, that is the

[20:39] Lalitambika.

[20:42] So, why we need Dharmam, children?

[20:44] In this entire life, to lead our life,

[20:47] all of us definitely need a Dharmic

[20:51] values.

[20:52] Without the values,

[20:55] you know, life is there's no meaning for

[20:57] our life.

[20:58] Dharma is not in our life.

[21:01] We are leading our life is without any

[21:04] meaning there. No meaning at all.

[21:06] That's why if you the shakti of Dharma,

[21:09] definitely do the upasana for the

[21:12] shakti. Shakti upasana is very important

[21:14] for to lead a dharmic values life.

[21:17] Philosophical flavor we need.

[21:20] To lead the life in spiritual way,

[21:23] we need the philosophical flavor.

[21:25] Without the philosophical flavor,

[21:27] rajasic nature comes and we are arguing

[21:29] with anything. We are analyzing

[21:32] everything. We are talking everything.

[21:34] Argumentation is negativity comes only.

[21:37] Philosophical flavor gives you external,

[21:40] internal, the differences between the

[21:44] materialistic things and the

[21:46] philosophical things knowledge. Rahasya,

[21:48] what is the word of rahasya? They're

[21:51] using the Lalita Rahasya Nama Sahasram.

[21:55] Rahasya means it is not a materialistic

[21:58] word. Rahasya word is not a

[22:00] materialistic word.

[22:02] There are two

[22:03] things in the shastrams. Two things in

[22:06] the shastram. One is the prakatita

[22:08] shastrams. Everything is externally

[22:10] visible in that. It is called a

[22:12] prakatita shastram.

[22:14] Second one is the guhya shastram.

[22:17] Everything is hidden inside. It's not

[22:19] externally visible. It is called the

[22:21] guhya shastram.

[22:23] The atindriya jnanam,

[22:25] that is the secrets are describing in

[22:28] the shastram. It is called the rahasya

[22:31] shastram. That's why Lalita Rahasya Nama

[22:35] Sahasram means not able to see with the

[22:37] external eyes, with your mind.

[22:42] We need the atindriya jnanam.

[22:44] Incredible knowledge beyond the eyes,

[22:47] beyond the mind, beyond your

[22:50] intellectual power. Only the grace of

[22:52] the divinity you need. The mantras are

[22:56] not able to externally, we cannot give

[22:58] any proof to you.

[23:00] If I chant Narayana mantra, give me some

[23:03] proof about when I chant Narayana

[23:04] mantra, what I'm going to get?

[23:06] I can't give you any proof, children.

[23:09] Gayatri mantra give the proof. Rama

[23:11] mantra give the proof.

[23:13] Externally, you can't give any proofs

[23:16] for this.

[23:17] Chant the Lalita Sahasranama names,

[23:19] children. Get the benefit of all these

[23:23] divine effulgences in your life.

[23:26] Get the grace of divine mother.

[23:29] Enjoy the divine mother.

[23:31] Brahmananda is saying, external anandas

[23:34] are very transient. What divine mother

[23:37] grants is the poorna brahma ananda,

[23:41] boundless. I'm expecting for my beloved

[23:43] children the boundless brahmananda

[23:46] sukham.

[23:47] Brahmananda Manip Dweepa Vasini,

[23:50] brahmananda sukham dehi.

[23:52] Jagajjanani, people are singing

[23:54] beautiful songs about the divine mother.

[23:57] Definitely, when you chant Lalita

[24:00] Sahasranama stotram, one name or so, I'm

[24:03] sure you are going to get the salvation

[24:05] in this lifetime. All our karmas,

[24:08] bondages will be destroyed by the grace

[24:11] of divine mother Lalitambika Devi.

[24:14] I expect eternal peace, bliss, happiness

[24:17] for you, for your entire family, for all

[24:19] the people in the entire world.

[24:22] Om Shanti

[24:25] Shanti

[24:26] Shantihi.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Lalita Sahasranama is a thousand-name hymn to the Divine Mother Lalitambika. In Sri Karunamayi's Navarathri 2026 teaching, rahasya, meaning secret, points to meanings that are not materialistic and cannot be grasped by analysis alone, and are reached through inner perception and a guru's grace.
She says the Srividya was first given to the world by Sree Dakshinamurthy Swamy, and that Sree Hayagreeva Bhagwan, an incarnation of Vishnu, granted the Lalita Sahasranama. She adds that Vyasa Maharshi later spoke extensively about Lalitambika in the Brahmanda Purana.
Bija mantras are seed syllables hidden inside the names of the hymn. Sri Karunamayi describes Chandra bija as cooling the heart and calming ignorance and arrogance, Surya bija as burning anger, lust, greed and jealousy, and Agni bija as purifying impurities like laser rays.
She says the depth of even one mantra cannot be understood without intense and serious sadhana. In her framework, the practitioner's own purification is part of the process of understanding the hymn's hidden meaning.
Augha means a great group. Sri Karunamayi describes the divya augha as the company of divine beings and devatas, the siddha augha as perfected masters such as Agastya Maharshi and Lopamudra Devi, and the manava augha as human sages, including Adi Shankaracharya.
According to Sri Karunamayi, the hymn was composed by the Vashinyadi Vag Devatas, eight goddesses who descended from the effulgence of Lalitambika. They presented it at the Manidweepam assembly, where its opening was attended by devatas from countless universes.
No, according to Sri Karunamayi. She says Shakti Peethams are naturally powerful sites where cosmic energy flows, and temples are built afterward wherever that Shakti already exists.
