Friday Night Mantra Gathering: Harmonium, Voice, Loops

Wah!
Wah!
Oct 31, 2026
7 min read

From Everything Wah!

Watch · 6

A woman's voice says good evening to a room that is, for the moment, mostly a list of names. One after another, arrivals are greeted by first name, a "Namaste" tossed out like a stitch in a hem, while a harmonium holds a single chord underneath and something electronic keeps a pulse moving. It is a Friday night in late October, the evening right before Halloween, and the recording the speaker posted as "Wah! It's Friday Night!" is what the channel's own description calls "Sanskrit mantra with vocals, harmonium and Ableton Live." It runs just over an hour. It is a gathering, not a lecture, and the most useful way into it is to listen the way you would to a rehearsal tape: for the drone, the call, the answer, and the places where the room takes over.

Read · 5 sections

What does a live mantra gathering actually sound like?

Start with the drone, because the harmonium is the floor everything else stands on. In most of the recording the instrument sits under the voice as a sustained bed rather than a melody line, and the singer's phrases rise and fall against it. Treat it with the seriousness you would give a bass amp in a rhythm section: when it shifts, the room shifts. The electronic layer, which the description names as Ableton Live, is less a beat than a scaffold. It keeps the time steady enough that a room of people who are not professional singers can find the pulse and stay in it for long stretches.

The vocal structure is call and response in its plainest form. A phrase is sung, the gathering answers, and the phrase returns with a little more reach each time. Much of the sung material is built on short devotional words repeated until they stop being words and become breath. The automated captions, which are unreliable for this kind of singing, render long runs as fragments like "J J J J" and "Jama," and that is a fair picture of what the ear hears: syllables pushed to the edge of intelligibility, passed back and forth. If you want a lesson in how sacred song works on a room, this is it. Nobody needs to know every word for the thing to land.

Why does the speaker keep greeting people by name?

Because the greeting is part of the form. The opening stretch of the recording is almost entirely a roll call. The speaker thanks people for joining "on a beautiful Friday night right before Halloween," names arrivals one by one, and sings a short acknowledgment back to each of them. At the very start the speaker is also describing an intention: "moving from 3D to 5D," and "from this world to angelic realms." Those are the speaker's own words, and they frame the session as a movement from ordinary attention toward something more open. Whether a listener takes that language literally or as a poetic invitation is up to them. What is less debatable is the effect of the roll call. Each name is a small act of attention that tells the person they have been seen, which is exactly what a gathering needs before anyone will sing out loud.

"Thank you so much for all the beautiful flowers that we offer at the beginning of our program. The very delicate, tender energy of flower blossoms." (Wah!, opening of the recording)

The flowers matter too. The offering is made at the threshold of the program, before the first sustained chant, and the speaker treats it as the room's first act together. Ritual theater often works this way: the small physical gesture comes first and sets the tone for the sound that follows.

What is the speaker talking about between the chants?

The spoken passages are short and scattered, which is characteristic of a live session where the singer pauses to read the room. One stretch describes the feeling of arriving in a space that is coherent after a fragmented world: "The world is so uncoherent. And then I come into this portal and wow it's like beautiful coherent healing loving uh supportive uh free expression energy." The speaker names what they heard someone say that morning, "the sweet spot rhythm," and then turns to the practical matter of what comes next: a particular song, then "maybe a little tribe come a little shine."

Later the speaker places the evening in its season: "We're in the goddess period. Okay. Fall time. So pomegranates, blood red, um turning blood into milk, uh harvest time, like giving." The mother goddess is then addressed directly, described as "the mother who holds the earth" and "the one who dances on it." These are the speaker's own images, and they give the chanting a clear object of devotion. The shift from talk back into song is abrupt, which is part of the honesty of the format. A live gathering does not stop to explain itself.

One passage moves from the spoken into a broader observation about the way people are used to working: "The weirdest part about starting from your heart is that we're really used to 3D. It's like, well, let's build a structure. It's like, 'No, let's walk on a rainbow with our hearts and a song.' It's like, 'Let's gather everyone together.'" The sentence is the closest the recording comes to a stated thesis, and it reads as an argument for process over product: begin with the heart and the song, and let the structure follow.

How should a reader approach an hour of recorded chanting?

Listen in long blocks rather than skipping to the sung passages. The gathering's power is in its accumulation, and the points where the voice drops out, leaving only harmonium and the room, are where the drone does its work. Notice the transitions between greeting, offering and chant. Notice how the singer pulls the group back in when attention wanders.

Be honest about the limits of the record. The auto-generated transcript is badly broken for sung material, and nothing here is a verified text of the mantras. Anyone who wants the words should find them from the lineage or teacher the speaker names, rather than trusting captions. The video was posted with 91 views at the time of this writing, so it is a small, intimate artifact: a room of voices on a Friday night, captured by a single device.

The channel's description lists several ways to support the speaker directly, including a Substack, Venmo, PayPal and an Etsy shop. Those are the speaker's choices to publish, and a reader who wants to follow the work can start there.

Where to go from here

Play the recording at a low volume while you do something else, and listen for the drone underneath the voices. Then listen again with the speaker's own phrases in mind: the portal, the goddess season, the heart-first structure. If the gathering moves you, the most useful next step is to find a live mantra room near you, sit near the front or the back depending on how you like to sing, and let the greeting by name do its work. The recording can tell you what the room sounded like. Only the room can teach you the rest.

[43:26] day.

[43:28] Om

[43:30] day.

[43:32] [music]

[43:58] The weirdest part about starting from

[44:00] your heart

[44:03] is that we're really used to 3D.

[44:08] It's like, well, let's build a

[44:09] structure. It's like, "No, let's walk on

[44:12] a rainbow with our hearts and a song."

[44:16] It's like, "Let's gather everyone

[44:20] together. No, let's um weave a blanket

[44:25] with a with light."

[44:27] Like, it's like, but

[44:31] and it's like, I don't know, just do it.

[44:34] [laughter]

[44:35] just you send that energy through the

[44:37] chat room and I sing and I call in the

[44:40] angels and we kind of like weave this

[44:44] beautiful blanket of light and it's just

[44:47] wonderful

[44:49] for for me for me anyway, right? To be

[44:53] in such an unfamiliar

[44:57] point in history,

[44:59] right? So, we've collapsed.

[45:03] I guess we've blown up the world several

[45:05] times and floods and ice ages and and

[45:08] this and that. So, we're at a point

[45:10] where selfishness can either rule and

[45:13] enslave or

[45:16] our hearts can actually change the

[45:22] air, the electromagnetic field that

[45:25] holds these humans that the

[45:28] electromagnetic field that holds the

[45:31] earth. and we can nurture

[45:34] and just kind of weave this thing like

[45:37] out of nothing.

[45:39] And sometimes when I talk to older

[45:42] people, you know, people of my

[45:44] generation or baby boomers or that are

[45:46] very used to 3D,

[45:49] the older generation, including most of

[45:52] the people who are in politics,

[45:55] I love seeing the the young people in

[45:57] there now, but um sometimes the old

[46:01] people are like, well, we have to go in

[46:02] and we have to fix that.

[46:05] It's very that's a very different

[46:07] approach. like, "Let's go get let's go

[46:09] over there and we'll fix this thing with

[46:12] our collective hearts." And the young

[46:15] people are like, "Well, that's garbage.

[46:19] They're that doesn't make sense. They're

[46:22] lying. That's corrupt. They stole that

[46:24] money." No, I think we're see I think

[46:29] we're going to go over here. It's like

[46:30] this kind of strange swipe left culture.

[46:34] And when you add that swipe left where

[46:37] it's just like no, I'm going to swipe

[46:40] left on being a victim, right?

[46:43] Victimhood is leaving the planet. So

[46:44] it's like, no, I'm not going to take any

[46:47] of that on and then I'm just going to

[46:49] start with heart-c centered energy and

[46:53] just go from there. So I was writing a

[46:56] new song and I said,

[46:59] "Feels so new, like walking on a

[47:01] rainbow." [clears throat and cough] And

[47:03] I was talking to Gabby and she was in an

[47:06] unfamiliar new portion of her life too.

[47:10] And uh and I I said that feels very

[47:14] unfamiliar to me. I mean can you can you

[47:15] actually say that that you're like

[47:17] walking on a rainbow? I mean

[47:20] [gasps] does that make sense to anybody?

[47:23] Right. [clears throat and cough] And we

[47:24] were just kind of laughing. Anyway, she

[47:26] was traveling and she stopped in at a

[47:28] shop and they had some gift cards there

[47:31] and there was a gift card of a fairy

[47:34] walking on a rainbow.

[47:37] [laughter] So, she sent it to me and we

[47:39] had a great laugh. So, it was like the

[47:42] universe plays with us, right? They're

[47:45] just hoping for this kind of joyful

[47:47] energy that you are so beautifully

[47:49] creating this evening that I'm just like

[47:51] putting a song to.

[47:54] [clears throat] And then it plays with

[47:55] us and rejoices. And it's like that's

[47:57] how the new begins, right? That's that

[47:59] that phrase that um MC Yogi wrote that

[48:03] song, be the change, right? Gandhi's

[48:06] famous words, be the change that you

[48:08] wish to see in the world. And mentioning

[48:10] MC Yogi, we have a new single out um MC

[48:14] Yogi and I

[48:17] called Light and Shining Armor. So I

[48:20] hope you can check that out. Namaste

[48:22] Annie.

[48:24] All right, let's do shine.

[48:28] So, the idea here is

[48:32] if you're in the 3D world, then you're

[48:34] probably bending over backwards a little

[48:37] too far. [laughter]

[48:40] And what are you supposed to do? Well,

[48:42] thanks, Carl Rose. Um, what are you

[48:44] supposed to do? Well, we're supposed to

[48:47] shine.

[48:49] We're just supposed to shimmer like the

[48:51] sun on the ocean. And you're just

[48:53] supposed to kind of play in that energy

[48:55] and that beautiful um joyful energy um

[48:59] true to your path until it feels all

[49:03] golden.

[49:44] inside [music] the day and find the new

[49:45] way.

[49:47] Got to get away.

Frequently Asked Questions

The video's own description calls it Sanskrit mantra with vocals, harmonium and Ableton Live. It is a live, call-and-response devotional session where a leader sings short repeated phrases over a sustained harmonium drone and an electronic pulse, and the room sings back.
The channel lists harmonium, vocals and Ableton Live. In the recording the harmonium works as a sustained drone under the voice, while the Ableton layer keeps a steady pulse for participants to follow.
In this recording the speaker names each arrival and sings a short greeting back, which makes each person feel acknowledged before the group sings together. The greeting functions as the first act of community, before any sustained chanting begins.
The speaker uses the phrase at the opening to describe an intention to move from ordinary attention toward a more open, angelic state. It is the speaker's own framing of the gathering, not a claim that can be verified from the recording.
The speaker places the evening in the fall season, calling it the goddess period and describing pomegranates and harvest time. The mother goddess is then addressed as the one who holds the earth and dances on it, giving the chanting a clear devotional focus.
The automatic captions for this recording are badly broken for sung passages, rendering long runs as fragments. For accurate words, look to the teacher or lineage the speaker names rather than relying on the transcript.
